This 3+BR/2BA home is located conveniently in Cooper Landing, Alaska, central on the Kenai Peninsula to all the places where you'll be adventuring. Built in 2002, used lightly and gently as a summer weekend home since then, and with recent updates, it is clean and fresh, uncluttered and relaxing. Find a comforting and comfortable place to rest and connect right here!
When you first arrive, you'll be drawn to the large upper covered deck, with its impressive mountain view. You'll love to dine al fresco on the deck, BBQ grill at hand, watching sheep grazing distantly on the mountains or enjoying birds in the birdhouse. The deck can be closed off from the stairs with a latching gate, making it toddler-friendly.
The upper level of the house is where you will find the main living room, complete with TV (Internet connectivity only - no satellite or cable to interrupt your vacation), a wood stove, and brand new leather furniture for lounging. Behind the living space, next to the doors leading to the deck, you'll find an excellent eating area, easily seating 6 at a brand new dining set, with great window views to greet you as you sip your morning coffee. The kitchen, outfitted well with everything you need to cook at home, is crisp and clean. Expand your dining and cooking options onto the large, covered deck, where you will find a gas-fired barbeque grill and an outdoor dining set for four.
Two bedrooms and a full bathroom are featured on this upper floor. Each bedroom has a queen bed with brand new memory foam mattresses, fresh and new bedding, and simple touches to inspire relaxation. The bathroom feels fresh and benefits from natural light through a shower window.
The lower level of the house provides a third bedroom, a spare room, and a second bathroom for additional guests. The bedroom has two brand new full beds, each with memory foam mattresses and new bedding. The full bathroom is clean, feeling new with nice fixtures and touches. The extra room in the basement houses a bunk bed with a full bed on the bottom and a twin on the top, a couch for lounging and even a game table.
Downstairs you will also find the full-size washer and dryer.
The lower deck has a swing, perfect for that evening drink, swaying to the sound of the breeze in the forest. The property is bordered by mature spruce forest, in a quiet residential area with the small-town vibe. Enjoy the sound and sights of the extra visitors and residents in the treetop bird houses on property. When wildfire danger is low, enjoy the firebowl out on the lawn.

The Starbright House was one of the nicest VRBO properties we have used. The house was in great condition, very clean, well-stocked, and located in a quiet neighborhood. The beds were firm and comfortable. The location made the Starbright House the perfect home base for day trips to Seward, Whittier and all of the Kenai Peninsula.

Comfortable house centrally located on the Kenai peninsula. Very family friendly. Having the deck was very nice. My only complaint was there was no mixer, but otherwise we found the kitchen well equipped. I would recommend this house for a family trip to explore the Kenai peninsula or to fish the area.

Cabin near Kenai Lake
Our multi family group stayed here as part of our exploration of the Kenai peninsula. Very beautiful and scenic location — we saw a moose just a couple miles down the road and then skipped rocks on the Kenai Lake. We went hiking at the Russian river and saw the salmon jumping the falls. Thanks again!

Relaxing, private and convenient
We loved our stay at Starbright. The house is roomy and comfortable. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in one of the most beautiful places in the US. Beds were comfy, kitchen well stocked, view of the mountains great and it is very close to favorite activities like hiking, fishing, river floating and eating good food.
Stefanie is a great host, easily accessible, knowledgeable and available. She genuinely wants to make sure you enjoy your stay and we surely did. Loved it. Thank you Stefanie!!!
The beautiful blue Kenai lake is an easy quarter mile walk down the lane and if you are a dog lover the neighbor's dogs are beautiful and friendly.

Lots of fish but no freezer
Wish there was a freezer. That really was a bummer. Even a cheap small chest freezer from Lowe’s would have really relieved so much of my stress.

The property was great for our 2 families! We enjoyed paddle boarding on the lake and biking around town. The space was cozy and clean. My favorite spot was the extra large covered porch with the view of the mountains!

Our group of nine spent three nights here and really enjoyed our stay. The covered deck with mountain views was our favorite part of the house. Stefanie was also very responsive to questions and gave us some tips on the best places to view bears. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Great cabin feel with a lovely location
The rental was exactly as advertised. Kitchen was nicely stocked, sleeping space was great, overall it felt bigger than it was because of the efficient use of space. We were able to walk down to the lake, which was quite beautiful. Communication with host was easy, prompt, and helpful. My husband and I stayed with our two young daughters and my parents, it was plenty of space for us, and we really enjoyed our stay.
