Hunter and Windham are quaint little villages with a variety of shops and galleries in addition to cozy restaurants where you can savor a hot comforting meal. This place was perfect for a Hunter Mountain ski getaway for my family. 3 minute drive to the mountain. you could walk it was that close!

We did arrive early, they were still cleaning, we went into town and arrived at 4pm- housekeeper was still working, a man told us we could go in, but as we opened the door the cleaning lady asked for time to finish- we did not get into house until 430/445. Great location, perfect spot. A few areas needed attention the yard area was dirty, cigarettes in front yard ect. The fire pit area did not look welcoming, or comfortable- just our 1st thoughts as we approached. Once inside we were pleased. We enjoy the woodstove, game room, hot tub and overall space if the house. The grill wouldn't start so that made our first planned meal a cookout a little hard. Bring extra towels- and shampoo and things like ketchup- we assumed incorrectly that some basics would be available. It was great their was so many tvs , but none connected to any cable, we did try calling about the grill/tvs - it was responded too the next day via email and no assistance was given. It was clean inside, a tad dark feel inside house, but overall the space was great. It was a nice spot for traveling with lots of kids, and we would recommend it- just remember people judge on appearance- the outside could be so cute, throw some cute lights up, fix furniture, make it welcoming !

The house is much bigger than it looks. There are plenty of beds, a large living room, game room in the basement and an indoor hot tub upstairs.
Being directly across the street from the mountain is a huge plus. A few of us even walked (took about 15-20 minutes).
I would highly recommend this location.

House was much bigger than I expected from pictures. Rooms are very large, tons of beds, well stocked kitchen. Great communication with owner. Very close to ski resort. Basement has 2 bedrooms (1 queen and 2 full) and full bath. Main floor has 2 bedrooms (2 full and 2 full) and full bath. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms (1 king and 2 full, 1 twin, 1 pullout twin) as well as queen pullout sofa on upstairs landing. Kitchen, living room, and dining room are large and comfortable with lots of seats, blankets, pillows, etc. I felt at home as soon as I walked in. Would definitely stay here again.

The homeowner provided everything we needed, outside of food. Plenty of room for every one. The heated kitchen tiles were a pleasant surprise! The King bedroom upstairs was real quaint. Definitely plan to return again!
Pro tip - if planning to use the hot tub, turn the temperature up after arriving so it will be warm when you are ready.

PLENTY OF ROOM
We only had 8 of us during our late winter stay and there was plenty of room for everyone to pretty much have their own room. The property manager was readily available and answered all our questions very quickly. The home was well equipped with everything you would need to cook including plenty of silverware and glassware. It was a bit further than we thought to walk to Hunter with our ski boots on, but we just drove over and it wasn't a problem. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Avoid this rental
I have stayed in a ton of different home rentals throughout the years, and this will be the first negative review that I have ever left.
I am a very low-maintenance traveler and am well accustomed to budget accommodations. However, this rental was extremely disappointing.
First- the hot tub was not working (the water would not heat up, and there was a leak).
Second- one of the bedrooms was located next to the sump pump room and it smelled strongly of sewage, earning the room the nickname “the poop room”. This bedroom could not be used and the person who was supposed to stay in that room ended up having to double up in another room.
I messaged the host to ask about getting the hot tub repaired. They messaged me multiple times per day, insisting that a repair person had already come (each message saying a different day/time that they insisted the repair person had come). However, a repair person never came and the hot tub was never fixed. I had to waste a lot of time during my holiday responding to these multiple messages each day, which was an additional disappointment in addition to not being able to use the hot tub.
We booked this rental because of the number of bedrooms and because of the hot tub. If we had booked a rental with less bedrooms and without a hot tub, it would have been much cheaper. Because of this, we asked for a partial refund.
The owner offered us one free night and an extremely small refund to make up for the troubles.
However, they later did not let us use the free night, stating that it could only be used for a stay of 3 nights or more.
I am very regretful for booking this home and for wasting so much of my time with such a poor communicator. Avoid this rental at all costs.

Super close to Hunter Mt
Plenty of space for 2 family’s to share a house for a weekend of skiing at Hunter Mountain. Teens loved the game room, younger kids loved the toys.

Great Location and has all that you need
Smallish house, but with plenty of beds and has just the amenities required for a ski weekend. Great value if you have 10 people or so. Walkable to the mountain which comes in handy if you have a lot of people and some may get tired early, they can walk back to the house from the mountain. Walking distance to a handful of bars and restaurants. and neighbors were kind and courteous

Bigger than you think
We had a nice weekend and enjoyed the house. There was ample room for our 10 guests and more than enough beds which means everyone slept well! The house had everything we needed for nice home cooked meals. The hot tub didn't work while we were there but the property manager kept in constant communication with us and they were able to send a repairman out on a weekend with less than 24 hr notice, which impressed us. You can't beat the location in relation to Hunter Mountain - a few of our crew even WALKED to the mountain because they couldn't wait for the rest of us to get ready :)

This property was great for a few nights stay. It was in need of some repairs and could be great if given a little TLC. Overall it had plenty of beds, chairs and relaxing spaces for everyone. We had fun in the game room and playing games around the table. We had ages 16-73 and we all had a great time. It's a quiet neighborhood close to whatever you needed. We enjoyed the railroad express and especially the Skyride Zipline. Thanks for letting us stay at your home, we enjoyed our time. Hoping to come back in the fall.

Perfect location
The house served our family very well. View of Hunter Mountain was amazing. So convenient to the mountain and many other attractions in the area. Due to all the recent rain the basement two bedrooms were not usable due to dampness but there is plenty of sleeping options on the other floors. The game area of the basement was great, loved the arcade game! Hot tub was very nice, even though we were there in summer it got plenty of use. If we return in winter I would stay again for sure.

We really enjoyed our three night stay. It’s just across from the mountain, had a terrific indoor jacuzzi which we used every day after skiing and a lovely fire place that we used each evening. There’s a fun ping pong table and dart board that the kids loved. Was a great vacation spot. Clean, comfortable, and as stated in the listing. Would love to come back!

Perfect house close to hunter mountain
We rented the house to stay at for skiing at hunter mountain. It's 1 min from the mountain with views of the mountain. Has a hot tub and ping table to keep kids entertained. Kitchen fully stocked and functional. Convenient to restaurants as well. The only odd thing was the bathrooms are on 1st floor and basement but not upstairs. Otherwise it holds a lot of people comfortably. Great communication with property manager.

I was a bit concerned because property looked so tiny from the outside. There must be some kind of magic at work because inside is as described and had plenty of rooms (and many left over) for our group of 11 people. Fire place looked really nice with everything needed to start fire (kindle, propane burner, lots of wood, etc) but we did not use because we had young kids. Kitchen had everything we needed.
This place is located right next to Hunter ski resort and is within walking distance. I would definitely come back next year.

Great plce to stay in Hunter
Great layout each room was carefully planned out and perfect for a large group. We arrived just after dark and the lights were on, the heat was on and the place was meticulously clean and very inviting. The hot tub was amazing and everything about the house was well thought out. Highly recommend staying here, location is a very short walk to the Hunter lodge. We had a group of about 10 and everyone agreed they would gladly go back and stay here!

This house made the experience of taste of country that much better. The location is legitimately across the street from the mountain. The house was a great size with a well kept hot tub inside. When we first got there, each bed had two sets of towels which I thought was an excellent touch. The home owner was very friendly and happy to answer any questions. In addition, there was a great fire pit and also grill outside. I would highly recommend this house to my friends in the future.

Hosts were gracious and responsive to any questions before, during, and after the stay. The house was surprisingly spacious compared to pictures and plenty of room for guests to hang out and sleep comfortably. Tidy and cozy. Many amenities, stocked kitchen, etc. Fantastic location, close to the mountain and within 10 minute drive from grocery stores, bars, restaurants, and more. Served us well!
This house is quite deceiving from the outside. Inside, it has six bedrooms and each one is quite spacious. The green space around the home was terrific. If you're sensitive to heat as we all are, you can be assured that the bedrooms are all quite cool, as the first floor and second floor rooms have air conditioners and the rooms on the lower level were remarkably cool without AC. The living space does get warm but it was manageable.
