From beginning to end our stay was PERFECT! The cabin was clean, and had everything we needed! The location was beautiful with a lake view, and walking distance to everything we needed. The area was quiet and relaxing. The space was decorated beautifully and thoughtful! The owners even put up a Christmas tree! The only thing, that was minor, was having to pick up the key to the cabin and dropping it off at a location 10 minutes away. But we understand, we had to sign the contract.. other than that it was perfect! Thank you for sharing your property with us, we made beautiful memories!

This cabin was a perfect choice for us and it offered the best of both worlds. A quiet retreat when we water rest and relaxation and The Village is a short, 10 minute walk away so shopping, restaurants, music is close by.
There is also a bowling alley near by and Big Bear Marina is literally down the street from the house if you’re interested in boating, fishing or jet skiing.
Checking in was a breeze as well. We arrived after the management office closed but had been advised to call when we were about 20 minutes away and they had someone waiting to check us in.
We opted to rent for an extra day so we did not have to rush to check out by 10am.
We are already thinking about when we can go back and who we could bring with us.

Our stay was amazing. Everything about the property was as described. The home was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The area was beautiful and located next to marina. Our kids and family loved it! Very quiet in the evening. Perfect getaway for a few days!

The location of the house was amazing. I didn’t realize when I booked that they use a property management office that is 15 minutes away from the house which added an extra 30 minutes to our drive. Which may not seem like a big deal but if you have a baby and a toddler it kinda is. I would love to stay again, but the house was not cleaned well. There was droppings from either mice or cockroaches in the kitchen and bathrooms. I can tell the place was not well cleaned because not only were there droppings under the kitchen table, there was also crayons. In the bathroom there was some tissues behind the toilet, droppings all along the walls and even a hairclip left on the ground, so it obviously was not cleaned well. I spend a lot of time on the ground because of having a baby and giving baths, so I noticed all this stuff. If the house is as cleaned well and the check in location was closer I would stay again.

We loved the location of the cabin with it's beautiful lake view and only minutes to the Village and Snow Summit. My daughter also loved using a sled in the backyard--so fun. The cabin was cozy and kitchen was nicely stocked. The jacuzzi was hot and ready for us to use. We also greatly appreciated the owner accomodating our request to arrive a day later due to the weather/road conditions. The owner was also incredibly helpful when working through a couple things with the management company to make sure all was taken care of for us.

The heater did not work the first night and maintenance was not sent out till the next day. We slept at 56 degree temperature and everyone was very cold. We started the fireplace and that barely helped. They fixed the heater the next day and they brought us space heaters so we were fine for the rest of the stay.
Then we discovered a mouse that was eating our bread and snacks. We threw out a bunch of food that we brought with us and put the rest in the fridge for protection. There were mouse droppings in the cabinets. The kids were terrified and did not want to get out of their bedrooms.
Maintenance never came to solve that problem. I requested a refund from management but they never called me back.

We loved our stay and we will be back! The jacuzzi was awesome. The location could not be better. Beautiful lake views. Easy walk to downtown and the bowling barn. Rooms, beds and couches are all so comfortable! The living room offers so much space for lots of people to relax and watch movies etc. The Christmas tree is darling. The big beautiful windows allow you to enjoy the lake views from the couch or dining table. Kids loved sledding in the backyard and across the street at the lake. Washer/dryer worked great. We will be back for sure!

Wonderful stay. Property across the street from the lake and very close to the village. Property was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Smart-tv to watch classic movies, spa was wonderful while watching the snow, cabin stocked with useful necessities including phone chargers. Property manager was very responsive to text. Spacious master with king bed, and two additional bedrooms with beds for kids and adults. We will definitely be back.

There were a couple discrepancies between what we were told vs the welcome booklet in the cabin. The pans had Teflon chipping off, and found it odd that we had to strip the bed ourselves. But overall a great place for family and friends.

Every morning, we would lift the blinds to enjoy our view of the lake. It was a great way to start the day. In the evening, we would relax on the rocking chairs or in the hot tub. Could not get a better location for home with its easy walk proximity to the marina and main part of town. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Decent rental
Overall our stay was nice. We were first timers to Big Bear and found that there were lots of things to do. The property is centrally located and easy to get to all things. I was a little deceived by the pictures that were provided as far as proximity to the lake/marina. I thought it was lake front but found that there was a large house across the street which blocked the view of the actual marina. You could still walk to the water some distance away but definitely not walking to the marina. A short drive if you get there early enough for parking if you plan to do any marina water rentals. The house was cozy, very large master and master bath. Only a couple of issues with the home itself. First, as we walked in for the first time it was 90 degrees in the house and never cooled down below 82 the first night despite have all fans on and opening all windows. There was some sort of cooling happening from the thermostat that I had set to 60 but it NEVER cooled down! The next day we weren’t sure if we should leave all windows open with fans on or lock it all up with the air that had been running. We chose to leave it all open since the air had been running when we got there and it was still hot. The breeze outside was nice so we sat on the porch for most of the nights. We checked the weather before booking and saw that Big Bear is usually in the 80’s this time of year and low 50’s at night. We were hoping for very cool nights since we were coming from extreme heat. This wasn’t the case. I almost booked a hotel to sleep in because it just never got cool in the house at night. We slept with all windows open (even tho I was worried about animals since I’d never been here). I would recommend to the owner to maybe get new windows on the entire front that can open up. I noticed all the windows were upgraded except for those. But again, that’s a pricey fix, but would make a world of difference in comfort in my opinion. The only other issue I had was the master bedroom TV never stayed on when we wanted to watch it while winding down at night. The power cord needs replaced, I kept trying to get it to stay in just the perfect spot to keep the TV on but it would only work for a little bit. After that it would sit and turn off and on repeatedly until I just unplugged it from the TV itself. A minor issue that most probably wouldn’t care about but I like to have some tv time while dozing off. Other than that, the house had EVERYTHING you would need!

The good/great:
Location - view of the lake with a wonderful lake breeze and walking distance to Village.
Furnishings - multiple fans to keep things cool during our unseasonably warm stay. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked. comfortable furniture and beds.
Ambience - had a true cabin in the woods feel.
Property Management - Sharon and her property managers were extremely pleasant, accommodating and easy to work with.
The not-so-great:
Hot tub - never worked quite right. Either needs some maintenance or better instructions. We could not get it very hot or get the jets to work very well and it was not quite full enough. All of these things could have been user error. These issues did not keep us from using it regularly.
Light switches - There was an unusual light switching arrangement which I never did fully figure out. This was only a minor problem but I would recommend adding some labels.
Overall- A+. Great value in a perfect location.
