About this house rental
This charming beach house, recently updated with all new paint, door hardware, light fixtures, & all new mattresses as of May 2023, sits on a spacious ocean front lot that provides beach access from a brand new boardwalk constructed July 2024. This is the view you will see when you walk through the front door!!
Located less than two blocks away from your neighborhood restaurants and bars. After a day of fun in the sun, rinse off in the private showers outside and enjoy the weather on your choice of porches! Dining room easily seats ten.
Open living area has a magnificent view and is great for entertaining. Step onto the screened-in porch or soak up the rays on the sun deck.
Downstairs has two bedrooms both with queen beds and two full bathrooms. Down the hall from these bedrooms is a kitchen, dinning room, and living room with fireplace (non-working) and flat screen TV. Off the living room and dinning room is a wonderful large screen porch with incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. There is also a gas grill on the porch for those summer cookouts, outside the screen porch is a large sundeck.
On the second floor enjoy the sunrise and sunset on the upstairs porch. There are two master bedrooms located on this floor each with private baths and flat screen TVs, one of the masters has a love seat size sleeper sofa. Also located on this floor there is a bedroom that has 3 twin beds and a half bath located next to that bedroom. There is also a love seat size sleeper in this room.
The gas fireplace in the living room no longer is working & is for display purposes only.
We have the same families back every year to this home. Its is classic beach at its best and a great place for family memories!

We had an amazing family vacation at this property, Perfect Beachfront Location for a Memorable Family Vacation with plenty of space for all eight of us to unwind and enjoy a week of sun, sand, and exploration. The location couldn't be better—right on the beach and within walking distance to charming local restaurants. It also served as a great base for discovering the greater Charleston area.
While the house may not be a modern showpiece, it more than makes up for it with its functionality and comfort. We appreciated the consistently hot showers, refreshing cold AC, and the thoughtful open floor plan that made gatherings easy. The screened porch and multiple decks were perfect spots to take in the breathtaking views and relax with a good book or a glass of wine.
If you're looking for a comfortable, well-located beach house that offers everything you need for a relaxing getaway, I highly recommend this property!

What a great place! Right on the beach and right next to the beach access. Bedrooms were all spacious. Huge screened porch to hang in and from which you can see and hear the ocean. Such a relaxing place. Property management were very responsive. Easy walk into town for dinner, drinks, and shopping. Location could not be better. We will definitely look to stay here again.

We absolutely loved our time spent at this home during our stay on Sullivan’s! The location was perfect, a less than 5 min walk to restaurants and park, and the house was even better in person than the pictures showed. The rooms were all very large, the beds were comfortable, kitchen was huge, enough seating to accommodate large families.
We had all ages there, my husband and I, his parents, and our 3 children under 5, and everyone loved sitting out on the enclosed porch enjoying the view at all different times of day. We were there late May, and the weather was perfect! Heather was a great communicator throughout the process as well. We will definitely stay again when we go back to SI next year!

The grandchildren loved the beach; unfortunately the water was too cold. House was very nice; clean and in good condition. Outside deck showing the ravages of rust from the salt air. Layout a little odd and was not clear in the ad. Maybe afraid to include a floor plan. Implied some private baths which were actually across the hall. The convenient beach access was closed; should have mentioned that in the description - quite a hike to the next access point. Parking almost theoretical; very tight getting out. For the price it was stingy on supplies. Wife most upset with no salt or pepper.

I had just lost my husband to cancer and we needed a place to relax and reset. The house was the perfect size with more than enough room for everyone. Large kitchen with everything we needed and the outdoor areas were incredible for morning and afternoon coffee. The neach access was easy to navigate and having our own entrance was convenient. Great place to take a family for a weekend or week.

This house was exactly what we needed - right on the beach with a large screened porch. It was clean and had plenty of dishes, pots & pans for any kind of cooking. Management was so easy to contact from the beginning of our stay until the end.

House is positioned with easy access to beach and restaurants. Kitchen was perfect for big family meals. Room with 3 twin beds got a little warm but with a few fans (provided), it was comfortable. We will definitely be back!

The house was in a great location and proximity to the beach. Area was quiet and people polite. It accommodated my family of 10 nicely and had all of the conveniences we needed. I would stay at the house again.

this is an older home so it is dated but has had some renovations. Owner responded quickly to my questions. If you rent this property, be sure to read the fine print on all the correspondence they send you. I have never stayed in a VRBO property that die not provide 1 extra roll of tissue , a few dishwasher tabs to get started, at least a small bottle af dishwashing liquid , a dish scrubber, at least a hotel size bar of soap, and who ever has a gas grill but no propane tank to use with it? Like I said, don't go by the rental agreement solely or you will be shopping for the bare necessities. Fortunately I am local and travelled by automobile and could take some of those items with me because I always take extra. Like I said, be sure to read all the correspondence you get from the property owner. Also, don't be surprised if you have workers show up unannounced as we did. I hope they were legit.

Everything was great! Only suggestion would be to provide more cleaning supplies (dish cleaner, dishwasher soap, clothes detergent.) This way we could clean the dishes and towels without going to the grocery store.

While the location and views were everything we hoped for, the property is time worn and needs some updates. The couch in the living room has saggy cushions. One of the toilets downstairs kept running and needed adjustments to the chain. One of the sinks downstairs needs replacement. Porcelain is all chipped. Three of the burners in the kitchen didn’t work or were not adjustable for heat. A repair call was answered the day after we called because it was Easter.
The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms seemed to be more updated and were quite nice.
For people traveling by air, it is not practical to buy all the toiletries and bare necessities needed to spend a week. Things like salt and pepper and dishwasher soap should be provided, as well as soap and some basic supplies. The rental cost was high to not supply these necessities.

This is a wonderful classic beach cottage with a location that can’t be beat. Plenty of room for our family of 10 (adults). It’s an older home surrounded by some opulent oceanfront mansions, and if you’re looking for fancy…keep looking. But if you’re looking for a wonderfully comfortable classic beach home, where you and your family can make some awesome memories, you may have just found the spot.

The pictures don't do this home justice! It was immaculately clean and larger than the pictures seemed. It was the perfect size for our multi-family vacation. The only thing better was Heather as a host. She was happy to answer all of our questions and was extremely responsive with any request!
This was our first time to Sullivan's Island. It's extremely walkable/bike friendly. If you like walking to restaurants, ice cream shops, etc, it's a great destination! There were a few things that I wish I'd known to be better prepared (this is NOT a reflection on Heather, she answered any and every question that we had). We usually use a 10x10 pop up tent for shade at the beach. But, due to how windy it was on the beach, we couldn' put the tent up and had to go out and purchase a Shibumi just to have some shade for the kids to play. Also, the public boardwalk to the beach next to the house was covered in water and impassable with a wagon and small children. Supposedly this was due to a large amount of rain prior to our stay, but the water remained throughout the week with no additional rain. There were other boardwalks about a block away that were more passable. Just a little bit of a bummer.
Overall, the house and host are a 10 out of 10! I would stay in any property that Heather hosted again!

Good location, nice property but needs some maintenance.
Good but house was showing wear aside from the significant water leak into living room and porch during heavy rain. Kitchen cooking equipment could be better - no baking dishes, not many saute pans, few baking sheets, etc. Light in oven not working. Light and fan controls are confusing. Upstairs AC not working efficiently- mildew smell and damp feeling. Outdoor shower not really usuable - no drainage and could be more private. House needs power washing and painting. Some porch screens need repair. Fan not working in small bathroom. Don’t mean to nit pick but for the price being charged, the house should be in better shape.

Great location!
You couldn't ask for a better location on Sullivan's. We had an ocean view and were close to the restaurants and shops. The house was charming and big enough for us to spread out. There were some stains on the carpets and the cushions on the screened in porch were shabby. However, none of this interfered with our enjoyment.

Wonderful home on Sullivan's Island
Our party of 3 couples had a wonderful two weeks at this property. Location is great - short walk to beach on the boardwalk and short walk to restaurants. I was a little concerned about noise from people on the boardwalk since we were there over Memorial Day weekend, but it wasn't a problem. We spent a lot of time on the back porch. The house was clean and well-equipped, and the layout was good for three couples. This is an older property and is due for some maintenance and updating, so if you're wanting sleek and modern, this is probably not what you're looking for. If you want a comfortable, old-style Sullivan's house, you'll enjoy it. There were a few maintenance issues when we checked in - light bulbs out, toaster and grill not working, two of the stove burners not working, and no ice-maker. I called Heather, and she came out less than two hours later to check everything out. She already knew about the stove burners and had emailed me prior to our arrival to let us know parts were ordered. Since it's a 5 burner cooktop, this was not a problem for us. Charles came out the next day and fixed all the issues and brought a new grill and toaster. The only thing that didn't get fixed was the ice-maker, which was sort of a bummer. Heather brought ice trays and offered to go get us bagged ice that night, but we were going to the store anyway, so that was taken care of. Heather is very accessible, friendly, and easy to deal with, and Charles was meticulous in his repairs and interesting to talk to, as a bonus! The house had great air conditioning, water pressure, and we never ran out of hot water. Since we have family locally who visited, we appreciated the abundance of parking and seating both inside and out. There were also beach chairs, beach toys, floats, and even a kite under the house. We enjoyed the house and would not hesitate to rent again. Thanks Heather for being a great host.

This house is great! Perfect location, relaxed vibe, and fabulous layout for our friends getaway. Excellent communication with Property Manager, Heather. We had a wonderful stay, and this laid-back cottage was a large part of the reason. Thank you for sharing this Sullivan's classic!

Great location beachfront Sullivan's Island
My family and I had a wonderful visit on Easter week at this location. It is on the beach beside a public boardwalk with wonderful beachfront views. The only reason I am not able to rate it 5 stars is that it does need a refresh.

Loved our time in this house on Sullivan’s Island - it housed our family of 7 very comfortably. Only two blocks to the Main Street/restaurants. Oceanfront. Loved the screened porch. My teenage son left his cell phone behind and the owner was kind enough to reach out and offer to send it to me.

Great house, great location, bring your own everything
Loved the location and the house but bring your own everything - we hit the grocery store right before check-in and had to go back out because the house has no supplies, not even a single hand soap, extra toilet paper, paper towels, etc. I wasn’t expecting they stock us up for the whole weekend but a hand soap in each bathroom isn’t too much to ask for.
Other than that, it was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. Affordable, large house with a great screened in porch, right on the path to the beach. The host communicated well and checkin/check out was easy.

Wonderful house
We recently stayed here for a girls' weekend. The views are incredible, the house is clean and spacious, and the location couldn't be better. We were able to walk right to the beach and to all the restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this property and plan to return in the future!
Also, one of us forgot our laptop at the house, and the property manager went above and beyond to return it. A very well run property!

Location, space, amenities were all above expectation. First time to Charleston for most of our group and this property had everything we were looking for and more. Convenient access to the beach, a short Uber to anywhere we wanted to go, and plenty of space in the house for our 10 person group. Highly recommend.

Perfect Beach Vacation
This was our first time staying on Sullivan’s, and we absolutely loved it. The house had a lot to do with that. The house was spacious and had an almost panoramic view of the beach, with 2 balconies and a screened porch overlooking the ocean. On top of that, we were a 5-minute walk from a number of restaurants and shops. For dinner, we simply ordered take-out and walked over to pick it up. This left us with so much time to enjoy the beach and our vacation. Finally, we were able to pop into Charleston whenever we wanted something more to do. The property manager was very attentive, and we had what we needed at the house. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
