About this house rental
Welcome to this three bedroom, 2 bath, historic downtown home built in 1897. It is located within a short walk of beautiful downtown Beaufort with all the quality restaurants and shops as well as the beautiful waterfront.
The house has a wealth of traditional Southern charm and is well furnished with antiques from Europe as well as original artwork. Upstairs offers Queen Size, master bedroom accommodation and bathroom with a claw foot tub. There is a further Double Size bedroom upstairs as well as a quaint second lounge room with original floors and a fireplace. The upstairs lounge has a second plasma TV and access to the balcony where you can sit, relax and watch the world go by.
Downstairs offers a dining area with seating for eight and a sitting room/lounge area complete with a brand new 40” Samsung flat screen television with Roku TV.
Downstairs also has a third Queen Sized bedroom with a desk for those who simply have to work. There is also a second bathroom.
We just completed a major remodel for the downstairs. The kitchen has been enlarged and has all new appliances, new sink, all new cabinets and new wood flooring. The bathroom has all new fixtures and flooring. The new washer/dryer is located in a closet on the first floor. See these new photos.
Outside, guests are invited to enjoy some well earned downtime in the comfortable yard that has a gas fired BBQ. The yard is fully fenced and we welcome small pets.
Not only is everything Downtown Beaufort right on your doorstep, but Beaufort is conveniently located for trips to nearby Hunting Island, Hilton Head with its beaches, and just over an hour away, are the charming Southern Cities of Savannah and Charleston. For the families of Parris Island graduates, this home is located just about 10 minutes drive away from the Parris Island Gateway and offers the perfect opportunity for family groups to enjoy a luxurious and comfortable stay together. Fabulous Beaufort is located just one hour from Savannah/Hilton Head airport.

We loved having a place to have family all together while visiting our enlisted son-in-law, daughter, and grandson. The backyard has such a wonderful southern feel, and our dogs loved it also. Overall cleanliness was excellent - but deeper areas such as floor vent filters and fan blades needed attention. First time at a VRBO, remembering all the checkout details was challenging. I think we forgot to adjust thermostats. I will definitely investigate VRBOs for future needs. Loved the family oriented feel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This home is very comfortable and perfect for the old house lover. It's not a large house, but a cozy one. The home owner has included nice little touches to make one feel welcome. Yes, the floors are a little wonky, but for an old house lover, who cares!?! And, it's convenient to everything!

We met friends and family for visit to Beaufort. If you enjoy old houses, this is for you - low ceilings, small rooms, and unlevel floors, none of which bothered us. It was perfectly located for us and we spent a lot of time in town. We entertained family to a cookout lunch and had plenty of room. The bathrooms were adequate and kitchen had everything we needed. I would suggest replacing the bed in the downstairs bedroom. Yes, I would look to rent this again. I enjoyed the quirks of this century old home.

Stay
Stayed mid-March so we had a couple of chilly days. Don't think the downstairs bedroom had a vent for AC/Heat. Kept the door open/cracked so that helped. Otherwise, loved the house! It was clean, good location, easy check out instructions, and landlord was responsive.

Quaint and comfortable Beaufort home
This house is darling and in the perfect location to walk to everything Beaufort has to offer. Mr. Mobley was helpful and easy to reach when we needed him. The kitchen has recently been updated and we cooked quite a few low country boils. The home is over 100 years old, and with it you get all of the quirks that come with something that has so much history; the floors in the upstairs bathroom slope toward the back, along with many of the windows being off-kilter, but we found these to add to the charm.
The only issue we had was that the downstairs bedroom does not have an air register, so there is no direct cooling/heating. While there is an oscillating fan, that room could get quite warm. The rest of the house is fine and gets plenty cool.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderfully located rental in the Beaufort area.

vacation 2019
This was our 4th rental over the last couple of years. We rated it as 4th place out 4. The mattresses (especially downstairs) were terrible. It slumped to middle and was uncomfortable. The house appeared to be a repair in progress and appeared to be one high wind from falling over. The outside needed to be more welcoming (rack leaves and better landscaping). On the plus side historical area and convenience to area. If I visit the area again I would look for different home.

Perfect location
This house was in the perfect location for walking to waterfront, shops and restaurants.
We enjoyed hearing the nearby church bells. Beaufort has so much to offer that we are glad we had two weeks to explore the area.
The house itself worked out for us but the backyard could use some work to make it a nice place to sit and watch the many birds enjoy the birdbath. We did enjoy sitting on the upstairs porch. Also the bed linens and towels could use and update.
Tom was readily available to answer any questions we had.

roomy and cute
This house was perfect for our family of four and my older parents. My husband and I, and our two grown daughters stayed upstairs, which has a huge bathroom (with clawfoot tub and shower and plenty of space for all our toiletries) and a lovely sitting area. My parents stayed downstairs, which has a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The house is loaded with charm, including some sloping floors, but also has all the necessary amenities. The only small negative for us was the relative lack of hanging space for all our wedding event finery. The bed in the second upstairs bedroom has a full-size bed. It's an easy, scenic stroll into downtown Beaufort.

Older house, needs few repairs and better air conditioning
Lovely older home, unique, had great kitchen, but bathrooms could be little better. Air conditioning needs improvement. But overall good stay
Enjoyed Beaufort and Marine graduation.

Lovely old house in great location
This felt like staying in a bit of Beaufort's history but with all the modern features of air con and a well equipped up to date kitchen. Very cosy. The garden area could do with some attention but the birds in the adjacent trees were spectacular.

Beautiful house perfect for our family
We were able to spend a week at this beautiful house. The charm was everywhere, from the original floors to ceiling. Plenty of room for our family of 4 and then some. Walking distance to downtown and a great park. Kitchen was stocked with all the appliances you could need. We definitely enjoyed our visit!

Just right
My husband, myself and our 2 college aged boys thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very cute and cozy. The owner has done a very nice job restoring/upgrading the home. The kitchen and other areas have everything you will need. The house had Christmas decorations and lights which we really enjoyed. They were all lit for us when we arrived. Mr Mobley was so accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right for us. In addition he was always avail with just a phone call. Perfect location. It is within walking distant to eateries, shopping and historic sites. We would stay here again without any question.

We loved it!
Beautiful historical home with lots of character. We thought it was a perfect place to stay with family while in town for our son's US Marine Corps graduation from bootcamp at Parris Island.

The house was exactly as it was described on the website.
We rented this house for 3 nights while in town for our sons graduation from MCRD Parris Island. It was perfect. Not to far from the base and lots of restaurants for eating if you aren't planning on doing your own cooking. The house had a nostalgic vibe. Though built some time ago, it still had all the necessities of a modern house. It reminded me of my grandparents house that I used to visit often when I was young. We would definitely recommend this location to family and friends. Mr. Mobley was very attentive to all my questions. When i notified him that we would be arriving later than we had anticipated. He actually called me, to welcome me and ask if I had any questions concerning our arrival and how to enter the home. After the phone call from Mr Mobley, I knew that our stay was going to be a good one.

Property was spacious and location was wonderful.
Local downtown feel, yet very quiet. Very nice to get away from the big city and have no sirens or gun shots or car engines racing at 3am. None of that in this location. We did not do much more than meander leaving us plenty of reason to go back and enjoy more of the history next time. Our host was available, but property was perfect so we did not need anything. He did stop by to make sure the garbage cans were at the curb morning of trash pickup. He was a very nice gentleman. I have accidentally left a jacket behind and he is mailing it to me. Wonderful host. Wonderful property.

Needs maintenance
The subfloor in the bathroom is rotting and the toilet is falling through it. There are other issues throughout the house. This house should not be rented in current condition.
