Spacious and private property with well-stocked kitchen, great for larger groups. Beautiful landscaping, plenty of space, and close to state parks. Highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing stay.
4.0 / 5.0
The good: The property was spacious and private. The landscaping around the house was very nice. There was plenty of space for our group of 8. The house was well stocked for cooking with plenty of supplies, cookware, tableware, etc.. The house was only 10 minutes to the state parks on the island which were nice to explore.
The bad: The hot water heater in the dome was broken which rendered the dome shower unusable, we were informed of this the day of our arrival. The hot tub temperature control panel was broken and was stuck on 93 degrees. There was an abandoned boat and RV tucked away on the property which was a little unpleasant to see every time we drove in.
Overall, the property was a nice and spacious place to stay for a larger group. I would recommend this larger groups looking for a quiet and private setting to relax.

We had a wonderful stay at the Island House. Our family enjoyed the opportunity to be together, but still have our own separate spaces. From enjoying the hot tub, to cooking meals as a family and sitting around the fire pit, the Island House really gave us the chance to be together. I highly recommend this space to others!

There are not enough words to describe our wonderful experience at the property. Beautifully secluded you can easily get lost in nature, with time and worries melting away. There is a special magic here that you feel once you pull up. No stone has been left unturned, you will find everything you need and then some. We can't thank the owners enough for our stay and all the lil details they have put into the entire property/home. We look forward to another stay and HIGHLY recommend The Island House on Camano for any adventure. Thank you

Small detail -- we were there Thursday to Thursday. The house and yard are very spacious with lots of interesting features. Supplies were plentiful. The dome cabin was a little more primitive than expected, but comfortable once we adapted. It is a beautiful setting and the kids loved seeing the deer, squirrels and rabbits that came by.

This one-of-a-kind, spacious cabin in the woods experience was amazing. Grounds have beautiful landscaping, flowers & trees. House was exactly as pictured and described. Has everything you need to entertain a group with plenty of comfortable beds. Enjoyed watching an eagle dive in the water out back, catch a fish & take it up in the trees to eat. Took a relaxing drive to Camano State Park and enjoyed looking @ nearby waterfront homes. House is at end of gravel road--quiet & serene.

The Island House was perfect for our family reunion. Our group of 11 had plenty of room to spread out indoors and outdoors during our stay. The large kitchen was ideal for food prep and cooking. Most of our evenings were spent outdoors around the campfire and under the big tent. There are plenty of extra amenities inside and out. Lots of great artwork and the home is beautiful - thank you for sharing it with us.

We booked three nights at The Island House for a family get together. We were already excited from having seen the pictures on the website - the reality was even better.
Everything has a very personal feel to it, and the house manages to be spacious and cosy at the same time. Martha communicated well with us before the trip, and we didn't have any problems at all finding things. The kitchen and communal areas are very well equipped, and we were able to cook big family meals without worrying about kitchen space. The outdoor area is also lovely - both the flower beds by the porch, and the large seating area around the back of the house.
I'd recommend this house for anyone planning a family gathering.

Our family - 4 couples and 5 children enjoyed our stay at the Island House. We came from Oregon, Colorado, Wisconsin and Washington to spend time together! The house was perfect for us all - the unique pastoral environment was inviting and very relaxing. The kitchen worked for us, and the sleeping arrangements were fine. Close to state parks and to the San Juans allowed us plenty of beach and exploring time.

This is an exquisite property. Seven of my family stayed and we entertained ten more at dinner many nights. Wonderful communal spaces. The area in the back is great for outside dining. The fire pit was a real treat in the evenings. The hot tub is also great. The kitchen and bathrooms greatly exceed any rental I have ever had. All in all, it is a place for a magical time. Martha is a great owner. You will be blown away by how beautiful the house and property are. We all loved our stay.

Our family stayed at the Island House and let me tell you upon driving to the property its nothing like it appears at the beginning of the road. This house is a dream. We had the best time ever at this lovely home with all the creature comforts of home and more. The yard first of all is beautiful, breathtaking, soothing, and unbelievably gorgeous as you see a new part of the yard come to life each day with fresh blooms. Then the wild life come out little by little, the bunnies, the squirrels, the eagles, the hawks, the buck my husband watched early in the morning down by the water and then the big mouth bass he caught. That was awesome.
Inside the house all the comforts you could want from a great big kitchen to bathrooms that allow you to relax and enjoy. We had a wonderful time while there and wish we had known what this property really was like because we would have loved to stay one more day. We were there for four days and loved every minute. Thanks to the owners who have obviously worked very hard to make this place special and beautiful, your love for this property shows in everything.
Hope to return some day for another piece of your sweet paradise. Mahalo, The Bathe Ohana

My parents, husband, brother, sister, and pug all stayed here for a weekend while visiting family friends on the island. The house is stunning and there is a wonderful energy about the place that you really can't describe. The property is beautiful and quiet and was a great place for us to play horseshoes, relax in the sunshine, and enjoy the sounds of wildlife. The owners have really thought of everything and Martha was very accommodating and helpful. We found ourselves looking at our calendars trying to figure out when we could come back!

We chose this house as our destination for a girls getaway/writer retreat weekend. It was a great trip, and we really enjoyed our stay. The property is lovely, and the house was the perfect size for us to spread out. There were five of us, and we found the property easily with the directions provided.
The house itself is large and well furnished with unique and quirky art pieces that lent a cozy, personal touch to the space. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were spacious and well-stocked with plenty of linens. We would have liked some olive oil and condiments in the kitchen, but these are minor things that we picked up on our next trip to the grocery store, which was about 15-20 minutes away. We had a great time chatting, doing some coloring books, brainstorming, and writing while sitting around the fire or at the long tables inside the house. The hot tub was easy to operate, and the outdoor space offered a lot of options for seating. There are also many board games, and, in addition to the Blu-Ray player, the TV has all of the apps for Netflix, Amazon, etc. Overall, it was very quiet and serene.
In terms of communication, the owner was responsive and kind, and the instructions for our stay were clear and reasonable. I would definitely recommend this property.

Our group loves to cook and eat, and we had a wonderful time even on a very rainy weekend. The kitchen is well stocked for groups, we divided the cooking for each couple to do one meal, and everyone was able to find what they needed to serve a great meal. We really enjoyed all the artwork and spacious great room. Did puzzles, coloring, watched movies and very much enjoyed our get-away.

This is our second time returning back to this house. We rented this house for a weekend retreat for our Non-profit board. The Islandhouse is in a tranquil area, overlooking a small pond. The house itself is huge. Plenty of room in the living room, kitchen, and dining area. There are two master suites upstairs, as well as two downstairs, with options to convert a few couches into extra sleeping areas. The art in the house is beautiful. You can tell the owners put effort into the craftsmanship of the features around the house. The staircase is a great work in progress of panels being carved by hand. You can tell that this place is unique, not a cheap Ikea style rental. The owners are very responsive and helpful if you have any questions or concerns. Also, there is a large back yard, complete with a large hot tub. Definitely a great place to get away from the city for a few days (or longer).

This is our third time at the Islandhouse. We love the wetland and the wind in the trees during storms in December. In the early morning, three owls called from different directions: who who who ...whooooo. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are plenty of pots and pans (and fresh spices) for creating a feast. Everything is clean and the decor includes beautiful paintings and carvings from around the world. The only minus is the downstairs folks can hear the people walking in the kitchen. But we knew that and were willing to deal with it. Highly recommended.

The house was incredibly comfortable and very cool! It was clearly designed with a lot of love by people with a really warm and cozy and open asthetic. The kitchen was very well designed and well appointed--plenty of room for several people to cook and others to hang out and chat and not be in the way of the chefs. It was a really wonderful space to spend some time as a group and condusive to large group games (the house was well stocked with board games!) and socializing while still giving everyone a sense having private and quiet space. The stained glass window and wood accents were just beautiful. The hot tub was great also. Martha responded quickly and was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Really everything was just lovely and we couldn't have been happier.

We had a great time staying at Island Home. The house has everything you need. Everything was clean, accessible, comfortable, etc. We were able to relax, take walks, sit in the hot tub, spread out, etc. The art work and style was amazing - so much to look at without feeling too stuffy. We will definitely be back. Definite plus to be able to drive there - no ferries to wait for. Owners were very accommodating - answered questions promptly.
