About this lodge
Nestled in Wisconsin, this attractive lodge for $179 per night is a great option for your next break. This is PRIME waterfront! 9068 W Moores Bay Trail, Hayward WI 54843. The best view. 50 feet from your boat.. You won't find authentic Northwoods charm and history like this ANYWHERE! RELAX! Historical photos inlaid in the bar are incredible. Canoe, kayak, ski, tube, swim, fish. Bring the dog. Several nearby cabins to rent if you have a larger group. Send me a message for contact info. Take the kids to an island sand bar for cookouts and swimming. Rent the pontoon or fishing boat. Do a resort bar to resort bar evening cruise on this huge lake. Right on miles of ATV and snowmobile trails. Within walking distance of resort bars and restaurants. Skillys Big Chip Lodge is the size of two cabins, sleeps 14 and right on the lake. Incredible view plus your own bar. WIFI & TV. New air upstairs and down as of June 2020! Get your bait at our bait shed. Crawler, crappie, walleye minnows and leeches. Curtain room divider for downstairs bedroom. Saturday to Saturday reservations only May 20 to Aug 19 2022. Pontoon and Fishing Boat Rentals 2021 22’ Misty Harbor Pontoon w/115 hp Yamaha Fishing and Cruising Setup 21 ft SeaArk Jon Boat Fishing Boat with 140 hp Suzuki Fishing with Single Console, Trolling Motor and Helix 9 . We now make the beds as of 2024. There are 2 queen beds, 2 full size beds and 4 single beds. There are also 2 cots and 2 couches. Also bring towels, paper towels and toilet paper. Check out the incredible Fall rates. Musky and crappie go wild in Moore's Bay, Nature's Garden! Waves lap the shore while the smell of brats fills the air. Cook out on the huge deck and chill with a cool drink or local Leinenkugel beer inside at an “old days” photo filled 15 seat bar with stereo system overlooking Big Chip. Float around and just relax in the summer. Plenty of space for guests with 2 half baths downstairs and one full bath with shower tub upstairs. Have meals at the bar looking out over the legendary wilderness lake Chippewa Flowage. Million dollar view of Chippewa Flowage(Home of the World Record Musky) from what used to be a bar! Moore's Bay fills with nice crappie in the Fall. Trophy musky, walleye, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, northern, perch and bluegill abound. Nice fish cleaning house on the property. See the 50 inch musky (replica) I caught off the dock in the Fall 4 years ago. Deer and grouse hunt across the bay in the Chequemagon National Forest. Groups can musky fish and deer hunt in the Fall. Enter Hayward Lakes Muskies Inc. Tournament the first weekend in October. Moore's Bay fills with crappie in the Fall. Photo filled bar overlooks huge Big Chip and the private dock. 3 knotty pine bedrooms upstairs and open room with bed and couches downstairs sleeps up to 14. Check out the walk thru video. Satellite 50" TV with MLB. Huge kitchen with 2 refrigerators and a full size freezer. Catch fish off the dock. Float around on a warm summer day. Rustic lodge with a nice view of Moore’s bay. Having your own bar is great, spent most of our time off the ice hangin at the bar.

The location is incredible overlooking Moore's Bay. Easy access to ice fishing and there is a private dock for the summer months. The bar room is the centerpoint of the cabin and makes an excellent spot for groups to gather. Gary is always available to answer questions or help out if needed.

View was amazing. Cabin was interesting. We had a awesome time. The 15 seat bar is actually in your cabin. Not an active bar anymore but very cool. No bars in walking distance that were open. It was early November so i am sure most resort bars close down.

Gary's place was as advertised and fit our needs well. We ended up having four adults for three nights. This is a unique property, formerly a bar and has ample sleeping arrangements upstairs for larger groups. I wouldn't stay here with my wife and kids, but with three buddies it was perfect, and Gary was more than accessible and accommodating.

Everything was fine the owner lives next door but keeps to himself renting the pontoon is perfect for large group. The sunrises were beautiful tough time to fish weather was in 90’s all in all was a fun time.

Love the Chippawa Flowage, the cottage is great for a large group, we had 6 adults, 2 teens, and 4 kids under 10. There was plenty of room for all. We've already rebooked for next year.

Good place for a family vacation, great old lodge, the bar area is just like stepping back to the 70s or 80s in an old Northwoods lakeside bar, and it's yours for the week.

The Lodge worked perfectly for my buddy and I. We were to the area for fishing and relaxation and the lodge allowed us to do just that. Great proximity to restaurants and bars (2 miles)!

Big Chip Lodge is a great place for a large group to hang out and enjoy the beautiful lake. The property itself is an old lodge from back when the surrounding area was a resort. Its got an old school cabin vibe with all the modern things you'd expect from a VRBO (great Wi-Fi, sound system with indoor and outdoor speakers you can hook your music into, two fridges and a chest freezer, great TVs for hanging out and enjoying a movie or a game). The lake view is wonderful and the docks are an excellent place to fish. There is even some availability of bait right on the property. My friends and I had a ton of fun and will definitely be back as soon as we can arrange it!

The lake is outstanding…so is Gary, the owner. Who lives next door. All the neighbors are fantastic too. Its tucked in behind a small RV park with cabins on either side. The building is old and you can feel the history. Very cool. Don’t expect pristine. Expect rustic with the basic amenities. We were sad to leave. The place grows on you. Needs a good cleaning upstairs. Kitchen, bathrooms and appliances are all well cleaned…not so much the rest of it. The long bar on the main floor made feeding everyone so easy! The view is incredible. The lodge has LOTS of room. Never felt crowded. We would definitely go back….but its not for everyone

Fun bar. We all liked sitting at the bar overlooking the beautiful lake. Very rustic. The floor creaked wth every move. Could use cookie/jellyroll pan. (Could have used a thorough cleaning before we got there.) Didn't see Murphy bed mentioned. Could have used more chairs on the deck. Pontoon was GREAT! Overall good time!!!

Property was just as pictured on VRBO. This was our 2nd year booking this property and we have booked it again for next year. Very family friendly grounds with playground and on the water. Kids have a fantastic time!! The bar area is a great hang out spot for meals, gathering, socializing, playing games, watching TV, etc.!! We rented the pontoon for the 2nd year for a day. Great times!! Gary is an excellent host!! He answers all questions and is available is needed. He also hung out with us around the campfire and sang songs with his guitar!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

Gary was great to deal with. Cool bar overlooking the lake. Nice large kitchen with 2 refrigerators and a full freezer. Beds were comfy. The only complain would be the place needs a deep cleaning. But we would definitely stay there again. Thank you Gary for a great week.

Lodge was plenty large enough for our group with a beautiful view looking over the bay. The bar was great to have as well.

Unique, one of a kind property.
We enjoyed our Birkie weekend with great views of the lake and lots of space for our group. The bar was a real draw for us as it created a great space for TV, eating, games, and a lot of smart talking! We loved the large kitchen, living room area, "ladies & men's " bathrooms. The rooms are great with lots of options for sleeping. Our disappointment was the cleanliness.
