About this cottage rental
Bonefish Bungalow is a lovely one bedroom one bath bottom cottage unit that sleeps four with a Queen bed and queen pullout. Perfect for fishing enthusiasts as it's located right on the World famous Exuma bonefish flats. Also wonderful for anyone looking to get away from it all in peaceful paradise. Just a hop across the sandy road is a walkway that leads to a deck with steps into the ocean. Shallow enough at low tide to wade out and fish all day, or to swim and relax in the soothing calm waters. Enjoy the deck for amazing sunsets, star gazing and sun bathing.
I live upstairs and I do have dogs but they are friendly.
There is also a house across the street that is available, sleeps 6 in cozy quarters directly on the water with it's own waterfront deck and dock. Here's the link:

Hospitality was great. Our stay was comforting and easy. Our toughest time was mostly with the roads. We got there after an and rain storm that flooded the roads and the rental car company was out of jeeps and SUVs. We got stuck with a Nissan Juke that made driving through the mini ponds quite the butt clencher. The roads are not completed throughout the island so off roading was also on hand with the car, it survived and so did we but that had no effect on the location we stayed at

We had a fantastic time at this place. Our host, Josefina, was on site and was flawlessly hospitable and available.
The place is in a tranquil part of Exuma, with simply stunning views of the Caribbean side towards Mosquito Cay. Josefina has the place set up with all the basics to make the stay more enjoyable, plus other items such as snorkels, fins, kayaks and paddle boards.
Our kids (10 and 14) truly enjoyed the stay and Josefina's hospitality. We also enjoyed the company of her dogs when they were outside. They were docile and friendly.
We cannot express enough our gratitude for Josefina and her hospitality.
I highly recommend this place for travellers who want to experience Exuma more like a local. It offers quiet views at sunset or during the day.

I recently stayed at Bungalow on the south side of Exuma, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, and the location offered stunning views and tranquility. Fina, the owner, was exceptional—she promptly answered all my questions and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this spot for a relaxing getaway!

We had the best week here! Everything was as expected - the roads are not ideal, but nothing you cannot navigate with a little patience. We had some issues with our flight coming in, and Fina was so kind and understanding throughout all of it! She was very responsive with any questions we had, even if they didn’t pertain to the property. This was the perfect spot to get away and relax for the week :)

Another wonderful stay. Surrounded by lizards, birds, colourful fish off the jetty, turtles butterflies. Beautiful sunrises. Literally on the waters edge. Plenty of kayaks and other equipment to use.

Yes it’s on the south side of Exuma, the roads are rough so if you’re hiring a car get a 4wd. Yes there may be a power cut if there’s an electric storm but candles and torches are provided. Good Wi-Fi, didn’t turn on the tv at all so can’t comment on that.

If you want to fish there are bonefish every where on the flats in front of the cottage on every tide. Had 60+ between 2lb and 4lb.
For the anglers out there, 8wt 10ft rod is about right 15ft leader, 8lb point. Shrimp patterns or gotchas. Stealth gotchas for fishing in skinny water. Tan or buff patterns to match the Color of the sand size 8,6 or 4.
The fish get spooky when fished for but by the mangroves you have the chance to see schools of 50-100 fish.

We had such an excellent stay and thoroughly enjoyed this little slice of heaven. Fina was very welcoming, we really enjoyed chatting and meeting some of the other locals/regulars. I also managed to catch my first ever bonefish. THANKS

Host fosters stray dogs (8), at the time of our stay. We were not able to sleep due to the dog commotion upstairs. I advised host, who intern offered me Xanax (illegal). We were not able to lock the adjoining & exterior door (which is a VRBO violation. Host resides upstairs and entered our suite without permission, and the bedroom where my husband was laying in bed. She made a lewd comment which was highly inappropriate. Cockroaches were present in the kitchen and bathroom . We checked out after one night and scrambled to find another rental for the remainder of our stay. Very unfortunate. I left the rental in tears..

Fina’s place was everything my family and I could have hoped for. The location was wonderful, secluded but still close to town. Sitting on the dock and enjoying the water while walking out to the flats will be memories never forgotten. Everything we needed was stocked for us, including floats for us to enjoy. Thank you Fina for beautiful family memories. We will be back!

My wife wanted somewhere to relax and chill and I specifically went to fish for bonefish. The house was an ideal set up for us, modern and with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The decking is literally 20 metres barefoot walk from the house and at low tide you can walk from there all the way out onto the flats for miles.
As a bonefishing virgin I caught 20 fish over an 8 day period with the flats virtually to myself.
Thankyou Fina for a great stay, already looking at dates to rebook for next year.

The roads to get there are terrible. The locks on the doors will keep you from going upstairs or into the garage, not keeping someone from coming in. The biggest thing was NO HOT WATER. There is a TV but no access to any channels. I had to watch the final four on my phone. The worst experience I have ever had .

The property was as described in VRBO, Manager was very attentive to our needs. Very remote location if you want to get off the grid . Drivers beware though , roads are very bad and unmarked , we noticed the father you drive to southern part of cay, govt does not maintain roads as well. Once you arrive you will be met with views of the bay and beautiful sunrises and sunsets You must however beware of the treacherous sand fleas and No see ums, lather up with bug spray and you will enjoy your stay.

This place is so cute and cozy. Having coffee on the dock watching the sunrise and a cold Kalik to watch the sunset. And run amok on the island all day. Or just stay there and hang out on the dock, snorkel with the fish or literally walk over to the flats at low tide and bonefish. Something for everyone!

The Bonefish Bungalow was a quaint little spot below owner Fina's home. It was clean, organized, and very well decorated. We had everything we needed for our four night stay. Fina was very gracious and invited us up for drinks and conversation. Right across the "street" was the beautiful white sands and sparkling emerald waters. The deck on the water was a nice addition. The view is amazing. Fina was very nice and was super accommodating. The location is off the beaten path a little bit but it's remote location translates to peace and quiet. You'll definitely need to rent a car to go back and forth, preferably an SUV or Jeep. I'd definitely recommend Fina's Bonefish Bungalow to anyone seeking a quiet and peaceful getaway in a clean and contemporary accommodation that is right next to the water.

Short 2 night stay
Fina was a great hostess and her place was exactly what we needed. The location is very remote and somewhat hard to find but once we found it, we were very happy. The place was very clean and well kept. It had everything we needed and the dock and ocean access across the road was very nice to have. We didn't spend a lot of time at the place except to sleep but thoroughly enjoyed our time. Fina is very friendly and we loved all her dogs. We are dog people so having a few to pet and talk to was great. We would recommend Fina's place to anyone and will contact her again if we ever get back to Exuma.

A Quaint Bahamian Hideaway
Not only did we enjoy our stay there but the moment we met Fina, we liked her!!! She has phenomenal communication skills!!!! We’ve needed to contact her via phone, email, text and then finally in person and no matter which way it was she was rapid in response! She was very helpful and resourceful when we asked questions. We were married in Exuma, Bahamas and needed to plan and prep for it and Fina was very helpful every step of the way. As for our room, we were allowed to check in early if we wanted but ended up having our flights changed to a later time. Upon arrival, Fina was as there to greet us and even had our door opened and ready with a bottle of wine! The room was very clean, stocked with towels; both beach and bath, fridge had (non-alcoholic) drinks, there was a coffee-maker, microwave, toaster, toaster oven and a portable burner, so that we could buy groceries and cook there! My favorite about the room was that it was decorated with beautiful sea art (by Fina’s father) and I’d say the least favorite about the room was that the bed was a bit too firm and uncomfortable and the water was barely ever hot. Other than those two things, we have no other complaints! There’s even a little journal to document your stay there! We would love to return someday as we loved the beauty of it and the Bahamas as a whole. Fina’s hospitality was exceptional, thank you Fina!!!!!!!!!

Fina, the host, is as gracious and accommodating as you could ask for. House on the water w/huge deck. Views for days, amazing sunsets. Fina knows everywhere to go, see, and do. Exceeded all expectations. Going back for sure!

Quiet & Great Location
Nice little property in a quiet area of the island. If you want to bonefish this is an ideal location. This is a very clean property that is nicely furnished and decorated. You just walk across the road to get to a deck area right on the water that has some great chairs to sit on along with great views. The owner was very easy to work with and she sent us some great information about the island in an email that we really appreciated. I would recommend this property to anyone!!! Mark & Mary

Comfortable and close to the water
Once I finally arrived, after a bumpy drive, I found the one bedroom apartment to be very comfortable, and having WiFi was an extra bonus. Just across the road you can launch one of the kayaks that came with the rental. After paddling across the deeper channel, which runs along the shoreline, you will be on top of an immense sand flat that is sometimes dry, and sometimes covered with water, depending on the tides.

We loved our stay. House is very nice, new, everything you need. Deck for sitting out on the water is very nice. Perfect for sunsets. Spent time out there every day wading the flats fishing or in the Kayaks provided. Prefer to be on this side of the island for fishing access. Initially wanted to rent Seabiscuit, her other house on the water across the street but it was booked. After getting there this house is just as good. You can still see the water from the front living room and can literally walk 20 seconds across the road to your own private deck on the water anyway. Was not dissapointed not being “on” the water. Can easily drive to get to the countless beaches on the other side of the island quickly. Host was very responsive to messages and questions. Short drive to Georgetown for anything you may need. You pretty much need a vehicle here but I wouldn’t be without one anyway. Neighbors all very nice. Would definitely go back to stay here or her other house across the street Seabiscuit. Hopefully next year! SUV is recommended for the unpaved rough roads, not only to get here but basically the entire island except Queens Highway. Thanks.

Bonefish exceeded my expectations for my visit to George Town. The property is nicely decorated and comes with all the necessary amenities within a few steps of the flats to kayak or fish.
Minutes away from great restaurants and other popular destinations on the island. Fina is a perfect host!

Breathtaking
Great property with modern features. Just right for a couple traveling to Exuma. The most awesome thing to do is at low tide walk across the ocean to the sand bank! Breathtaking views! Highly recommended.
