About this house rental
This remodeled 3-bedroom, 2-bath house is located within walking distance of Arizona State University and Mill Avenue, which is the heart of downtown Tempe. City bus routes and a light rail system make this location very desirable. The property is close to Sun Devil Stadium, Grady Gammage Auditorium, Tempe Center for the Arts and Tempe Town Lake, which is the home of the annual Ironman Triathlon and numerous other events. The AZ Cardinals stadium is a 30-minute drive away so this property is a perfect location for AZ Cardinals games and the annual Fiesta Bowl. If interested, the owner often has extra AZ Cardinals tickets. The nightlife of this college town makes this home ideally located for those who want to vacation in a quiet neighborhood close to where the action is. Since the property is very centrally located in the metro Phoenix area, you can hang out in Tempe or go anywhere in the metro Phoenix area very quickly and inexpensively. Executive as well as designer golf courses are nearby. A short drive will take you to numerous spring training facilities. The Phoenix Zoo is less than five miles away. The living room, bedrooms and the backyard are equipped with cable television. You will find a walk-in shower with a seat and two shower heads in the main bathroom. The second bathroom has a modern shower stall. The interior of the house is fully tiled and newly furnished with contemporary furniture. A swimming pool -- heated during the cooler months -- accentuates the covered patio and gas grill in the backyard. When heated, the pool heater is set at 88 degrees but, if the outside temperature gets too cool, the pool temp may not reach 88. That doesn't happen often but it does happen occasionally. There are wet suit tops in the laundry area for your use. Those will help. If you are bringing dogs to the property, please try to keep them out of the pool as dog hair can seriously clog the filtering system. Exercise equipment can also be found in the laundry room, which is located next to the pool. The property is also conveniently located only 4 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This property can accommodate 6 guests but, if you need to find lodging for more, we own 2 other vacation rentals on the block. You can see them at VRBO.com/933406, which has a pool, and VRBO.com/214978, which does not have a pool. You will not be charged a cleaning fee at any of our 3 properties. The property can accommodate a family gathering but cannot accommodate a large event. If you are planning to host an event of any size, please clear it with the owner at time of booking. Great stay at the pool house. We were there for a college visit. It is only 5 minutes from the ASU campus. This is one of the most well stocked house I have ever stayed in. The pool is a lot of fun. We will definitely be back

Saying you'll return says it all. All expectations met with no bad surprises. This "home" isn't managed by a soulless corporation and it shows. The pantry, the linen closet, the storage cabinets, even the kitchen drawers are like home and have every little thing you might need. Everything as pictured and nice, homey touches throughout. This was my fourth time staying at Shirley's property and it never disappoints. The property is always clean, fully stocked and just comfy. The pool floaties were on point this year and as always the location is the best part of this property! Love going to Mill Ave to go to the bars and restaurants. I hope to be back a fifth time.

The Pool House is a lovely place to stay! It is within walking distance to ASU, many restaurants and more. The hosts are warm, welcoming and available, as needed. We love this property and renting from Shirley! This is our second time at this house and everything was fantastic as always! Great location close to ASU. The house is very clean and is supplied with everything you might need. The yard, pool and outdoor TV's are so much fun! Our hockey team of 16 year old girls used this VRBO for swimming and meals while in town for an August tournament. It’s PERFECT for a family or gatherings like we had. The pool has a deep end so kids could play pool games. I would rent this house again in a heartbeat. SO close to ASU campus it made everything easy.

I have stayed at many VRBO'S but this is the first time I have ever written a review. Everything that you are looking for in a perfect house is here. My 13 year old will tell you his favorite part was the 8 foot pool with all the pool toys. My husband will tell you that he liked the location...close to ASU, restaurants, movies etc. I liked that I felt like I was staying at a friend's house and Shirley and Pete are amazing hosts. Super cozy, super clean house and being that I love to cook (other VRBO'S had minimum things that I needed) the kitchen had everything needed and more! We had some family and friends over (with Shirley's permission) and our 4th of July is memorable because of the "pool house."

Host is very helpful and has the home stocked with most things you may need both inside & around the pool. excellent location close to ASU. The Pool House is our go-to for getaways in Arizona. The layout of the house is open, the tile showers are beautiful, and the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room are well stocked with all the amenities you need (we only needed to purchase perishables during our stay). And when you step into the backyard you will understand why this home is called the Pool House. Plenty of lounge chairs, tables, and a bar, a bbq, two outdoor flat screen tvs, and lots of pool toys. The pool itself is fabulous!!! Trust me, this is your next vacation home. We are already planning our next trip!

Our stay was everything we were hoping for in Tempe. Even though the weather was rainy and a bit cold, we spent most of our time in the heated pool. The pool temperature was very warm and the thoughtful addition of easy to put on wet suit jackets in the pool house meant we could comfortably stay in the pool for as long as we wanted to swim. We also used the bikes to ride over to the nice park with basketball courts about a block away. The neighborhood was very quiet. We were in the area to visit Mesa - the first autism friendly certified city by IBCCES in the US. Shirley was great to deal with and really helpful with recommendations for golf courses near the house. All the little touches were designed to make our stay comfortable and easy. If we visit the area again, we will absolutely try to stay here.

This house is wonderful. It's the perfect place to stay while visiting our Sun Devil. The back yard and pool are beautiful. There are two tv's outside so you can hang out and watch football games. Floaties and corn hole are also provided. The house is stocked with everything you need. This is our second time renting from Shirley and we will definitely be renting one of her houses again! Everything you could need!
We stayed here for a week while we moved our son in to his nearby apartment. The location is great—a park, restaurants, and ASU within walking distance. We loved using the pool, especially in the evenings. The outdoor tv’s were an added bonus. My daughter used one of the bikes each evening to ride around the neighborhood and take pictures of the sunset. This house has everything you could need and more—shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms, laundry detergent, lots of towels, bikes, pool toys, and more! The owners were very friendly and responded quickly when we texted. We will definitely stay here again!

Just like home (only with a pool 😆)
This was our first VRBO rental and so we didn't know what to expect. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were at home. The house is really cute and the pool is spectacular!!! Pete and Shirley were available in case we needed anything (we didn't), the neighborhood was nice and quiet, and there are stores and restaurants within walking or short driving. We are already planning our next visit. And worth repeating, the pool is FABULOUS. 5 stars all around.

Relaxing and Perfect Stay at the Pool House
We had a fabulous week at the Pool House celebrating our son's graduation from ASU. The location is perfect when visiting ASU. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the pool and comfortable shaded areas under the fans. There are so many extra perks and details in this property that aren't usually included with a vacation rental (bicycles, coffee, condiments, pool toys, lots of pool towels, shampoo, bags & paper products, and so much more). Shirley handled everything flawlessly and has the expertise to teach a masterclass on how to be the perfect vacation rental owner. Hoping to return soon!

The Pool House exceeded all our expectations. We were able to relax by the pool, take lots of walks, go on a bunch of bike rides, visit our son at ASU, barbecue, eat at numerous yummy restaurants, play corn hole, etc. This house provides everything a family needs and more! We had a great stay at the Pool House! The house was clean, the beds very comfortable and the pool was awesome! The pool is huge and heated to a very warm temperature. The outside TVs and bar area were a plus. The house is close to ASU and the neighborhood is quiet. Shirley and Pete were great hosts and responded very promptly to any of our questions. Highly recommend.
