. Also, amazing sunsets!
Centerville sits on a peninsula on the southern side of Barnstable. With its maritime location on Nantucket Sound, Centerville was once home to wealthy ship captains who built stately homes in the early 1800s. Centerville is probably best known for Craigville Beach, one of the most famous on the south shore, to which visitors flock for boating, beachcombing and, of course, swimming in the calm surf and warm water of Nantucket Sound. To the east of Craigville Beach is the residents-only Covells Beach. Wequaquet Lake, the Cape’s largest lake, is popular with residents and their guests, and Centerville River inlet is terrific for canoeing and kayaking. Centerville is just minutes to downtown Hyannis, the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, summer theatre, the Cape Cod Mall, golf, and ferries to the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Also in Hyannis is the Cape Cod Melody Tent, offering big-name entertainment.

It’s a beautiful home in a beautiful setting.
We were very happy with the space for 9 adults.
We recommend this home.
The owner Mark was very responsive.

Great big house for a large group! There were more than enough bed spaces to suit us and the house was overall great. The owner was communicative and kind to give us a later checkout time! It wasn’t quite ready yet when we got there at 3 so it was a slower move in than expected. It was also extremely buggy by the lake so when we needed to go outside at night, swarms of gnats would get in. Some of the windows were also not completely sealed so the bugs got in that way. By the end of the weekend the master bathroom and kitchen had gnats coated on the counters. Loved the beautiful house but would probably not rent again because of the bug issue.

This was an awesome house to share with friends on new years. Tons of space that includes a great open kitchen area.
Highly recommend this to anyone looking to get away on the Cape!

We were seven adults staying at this house for the Thanksgiving holiday. It's very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed to prepare and serve a big holiday meal. We loved sitting around the fireplace in the living room, having breakfast at the counter bar and, of course, enjoying the unobstructed views of the lake. Though the house is close to main roads, its location feels really remote. It's quiet, and the road out front was great for taking a long, post-meal walk along the lake. The private dock is awesome and I can only imagine how much fun it would be during the warm weather when you can go swimming and boating right from the dock. The host was really nice and accessible if we needed him, which we didn't. We would recommend this lake house!

3 generations of family on vacation, and all had an amazing time. Home was close to everything one may want to do - from exploring all the towns on the cape, to water activities like kayaking and SUP’ing, to fishing, dining, shopping, or just relaxing by the lake and taking in the sights and sounds. And to make it all come together, Mark was a great host, great communicator, and a pleasure to talk to about local area. Look forward to our future stays.

The thing I liked the most is the home is clean and extremely well stocked. The summary of the home is spot on. It was everything it said it was and more. Great location and right on the water.
I want to thank Mark for being an excellent host.

Mark, first thank you for allowing my family to stay at your rental home. The house was perfect, plenty of space for the twelve of us plus 2 additional guests that stayed two nights. The kitchen is gorgeous and spacious when we prepared meals at the house. Overall, we were all pleased with the house and property. We have all started a conversation about returning next year.
What caught my attention was the amount of laughter from all the kids & grandkids. If they weren’t swimming, they were kayaking. The grandkids had an absolute great time fishing off the dock. Smiles and memories were created!!
We will be in touch in the near future to discuss a return visit.

Loved the lake and dock.
The house was spacious and had a good layout. We had everything we needed. We grilled out and enjoyed the huge deck with a great view. We rented kayaks and paddle boards and the dock was convenient. The lake is shallow at the dock. One night we had a fire. Great location near Barnstable and Hyannis. Beautiful sunsets.

So nice and comfy
An amazing place to have a cozy and relaxing getaway. The owner was very nice and very accommodating. The house is very large, has everything you need and some great luxuries (giant shower and tub and fireplaces in living room and master bedroom). Pet friendly too, and our little dog truly loved running outside.

Spacious House w/ Great Lake Access
Between the direct lake access at the house or the short drive to local beaches, the house is optimally located if you are looking for water activities. My family and our guests spent a lot of time swimming and fishing from the dock. The house overall was spacious, clean, and the owner was very responsive to questions or any needs. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a family friendly property on the Cape.

Renters be warned!!!!!
This rental should NOT be listed as a premier property. We spent the first 3 hours of our family vacation cleaning the home which was filthy and in disrepair. The kitchen island counter top had to be cleaned 3 times before the cleaning cloth came away clear, there were splatters all over the kitchen cabinets and the floor corners were caked with dirt, bugs and hair. The refrigerator was disgusting and there was food left in the pantry. In addition, while trying to cook dinner the first night on the stove which had broken burners, only one side oven working and caked on dirt, grease from the hood above dripped down into our food which we had to throw away. Disgusted with the condition of kitchen area and concerned with COVID and possibility that surfaces were not free of bacteria, we then wiped down all railings, door handles, bathroom surfaces and knobs which were again dirty (evident by the filth. bugs and grime on cleaning rags we used). There is no air conditioning (or any air circulation for that matter) in the basement. The slider in the bedroom in the basement had caked on dirt, spider webs and dead bugs. Part of the room was taken up with broken gym equipment and a broken tanning bed. The bathroom basement was dirty and the faucet had broken hot water handle. Smoke detectors were missing from basement ceilings. Window sills in all bedrooms and bathrooms had dead bugs and there were spider webs in the corners of every room. When we contacted the owner, he asked what he could do to rectify the situation and he agreed to refunding the cleaning fee and have a cleaning crew go in the next morning and asked us to make a punch list of what we wanted done, which we did. He did not send a cleaning crew, only the caretaker (who was sympathetic, agreed the house was filthy and did the best he could) but who vacuumed, mopped the kitchen and cleaned with only spray cleaner and paper towels for a couple of hours. (He did come back the next day and power washed the deck and also brought a new conversation set for the deck). The property owner never contacted us back to see if we were satisfied. While the location is beautiful and the property caretaker JR, tried his best to remedy the situation, it's too bad that the house has not been maintained. After hours of cleaning in order to feel comfortable, we made the most of the week but we had to contact VRBO with pictures of the house in order to address the cleaning fee refund as promised.

Perfect family get away!
Our group of 12 and 2 dogs had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. The house was bigger than it appeared in pictures and great for our group to spread out in. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, yard and bedrooms. A large armoire of towels was available. We loved how close we were to Craigsville and Sandy Neck beaches, Chatham and the Hyannis ferries. Every afternoon we swam and floated on the lake. Pool floats and a grill were available to us which was a great bonus. The large deck and seating with a view of the sunset every night was amazing. The kitchen island is gigantic and great for kids seating, setting out meals and playing games. The loft area was huge and a good size for 4 kids 12-18. Thank you to Mark for making this house available and being a great host!

Great Home, Fantastic weekend
Mark was a tremendous host for my group over the Fourth of July weekend. The house was both clean and accommodating. We enjoyed both the ability to use the lake and the close proximity of the beaches. A perfect place to stay to experience Cape Cod.

Beautiful home and location
We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful home. The owner was more than helpful, although we really didn’t need much, because everything was there. We went to nearby Craigville Beach the first day and had a wonderful day. The second day we stayed at the house and hung out on the dock. We enjoyed the the beautiful lake and a great day at the water The house was clean and spacious and I would definitely rent it again. Thank you!

Beautiful spot, lovely Sunsets...
We had a great week with our family at this home! The house was well equipped and comfortable. The lake access was great for our kayaks, but can be tricky to swim from as there is no ladder and the incline at the end is slippery to pull up on.
The beds were comfy, but the house does need some attention to detail in repairing some fixtures and cleaning the slipcover on the entry chair. The washer was tricky to use and the grill also needs some tweaks. Overall a great spot with an attentive host. Wonderful deck to visit on and enjoy the view and sunsets!

Needs many repairs/improvements
We were very disappointed by this house. It didn't come anywhere close to meeting our expectations. There were a number of issues around cleanliness, disrepair, and neglect. The house was quite dirty upon arrival, with stained rugs, beer cans found in bureaus, someone else's laundry in the dryer, etc. There were lots of broken things--a non-working ceiling lamp (which the owner did fix), a screen door to the patio with no screen in it, burned out lights, a toilet with no lid, a jacuzzi tub (highly advertised in the listing) with no faucet and therefore inoperable. There were no dish towels, one single spatula that was plastic and broken, and no wine glasses. There is a tanning bed (with cracked glass) in the basement bedroom. Outside, the dock is a great amenity but it was hard to step onto from land and had exposed nails (dangerous for older people and kids). There was a boat tied to the dock that had rusty fishing hooks, beer cans, and rusty knife in the cockpit. There is an abandoned car and trailer to the right of the dock, in the yard. There is an exercise bike outdoors on the third floor balcony, just left there. The annex house, that seems to be part of the rental per the listing, was being occupied by someone; in order to get to the trash you had to walk through their living quarters. The owner was very nice and responsive via email before our visit, but we never received any written info with house instructions, etc. We were very let down by our experience, especially considering the amount of money we paid for it.

Awesome house. Awesome location
Great time with family and friends. The house has all anyone needs to enjoy time away. Right on the lake, beautiful deck, plenty of space and close enough to everything - beach, shopping, etc...
Would definitely recommend this property to all looking for an escape to the cape!

Great Place for a Cape Getaway
We had a larger group stay for a long weekend and this house worked out perfectly. Mark was a great host and even invited us into town for a beer. The house is comfortable with great views of the lake and is isolated enough from the neighbors that you have some privacy. It was very clean, with the rooms made up nicely and had everything you could need. It's a short drive or uber ride into town with everything the Cape has to offer. Would definitely recommend and stay again!!

Beautiful Views
This was the perfect location to host our three family soccer weekend. There was a large amount of common space for groups to socialize and smaller areas for the teens and tweens to sneak off and hide. The kitchen and linens were well stocked. The weather ended up beautiful and we enjoyed swimming in the lake and sitting out on the deck to enjoy the view. We were even given a boat ride! Highly recommended for a group.

The perfect house for a week on the Cape with friends
We had a group of 15 staying in this house for our college’s senior Cape Week. We all fit in the house comfortably, and Mark was wonderful in making sure that everything was going well. We struggled a bit in our search for a rental, but we definitely ended up with the best house for us!

Warm and inviting. Plenty of room for the entire family with the most beautiful view.
Gathering around the large kitchen with our entire family who came from all over was wonderful. Especially sitting around the fireplace. Everybody was comfortable, the beds were comfortable TVs in most rooms and being out in the country with a gorgeous Lake in front of you was just incredible. Can't wait to come back! Rhonda

Luxury Living Combined with the Serenity of the Lake View
We had the most positive experience with this rental.
I was responsible for organizing an extended family get together, which was supposed to include two Yorkies. From the very first contact, Mark, the owner, put my mind at ease. And every word he said was spot on!
The home is carefully thought out, and extremely well stocked with every pot, pan, dish, towel, sheets, etc. The home was spotless, the housekeepers attending to every detail between guest stays. Mark was there to greet us upon arrival to check the property and explain everything to us, including WiFi and pointers about things we might want to do. He made sure we had his cell phone number in case there was any problem at all; he stays only a few minutes away.
Our family group ranged from newlyweds to a 93 year old. Each and every one was equally delighted. This home is beautifully furnished. Although the bedrooms are amazing, each day no one wanted to leave the huge deck and main floor living room with its massive leather sectional sofa. Even the bar stools at the kitchen island are directed toward the amazing sunset at Wequaquet Lake. On chilly nights, the gas fireplace adds a cozy touch.
While some of us were sipping wine on the deck, others were dipping their toes in the clear water while sitting on the dock.
We did day trips to Hyannis including the John F. Kennedy Memorial and Museum. We dined at wharf-side restaurants, freshest seafood ever and plenty for non-seafood lovers to choose from as well. Some went hiking at the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Go one way to the lake or head the other way past cranberry bogs toward the beach. We spent a lovely day in Provincetown. One night we had a feast at the home, prepared by our incredibly talented cousin.
This was a little slice of heaven and would have been even better if we could have gotten our pups there. Unfortunately, one of the pups, Captain Morgan, was boycotting his kennel. (Yes, we know who's the boss! haha) Thus, no airplane ride for him to Boston and both dogs remained at home. Maybe next year the pups will make it there too. That would make everything even more perfect! We were so busy relaxing that the time flew by, so we already have a to-do list for our next visit. Many thanks to Mark, owner extrordinaire!
