About this apartment rental

This quaint studio apartment is in an ideal location; the apartment is within walking distance of the Kern River, downtown Kernville, market, deli/liquor store, restaurants, local brew pub, and bars. The quiet town of Kernville is a southern California gem, worlds away from the big city. The area is close to the Sequoia National Forest.

Comfy for two and cozy with four, the apartment features a queen size Murphy bed and queen size sofa bed (or a queen size aero bed). It has a full, albeit small, galley kitchen. The bath has a tub/shower. There is a small patio.

PILLOW CASES, SHEETS (QUEEN) AND TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED. You need to bring your own. Pillows, blankets, and comforters are provided. There is a wall heater for heating and an evaporative cooler (swamp cooler) for cooling.

There is a DVD player but no cable, satellite or wifi.

THIS IS A NON SMOKING UNIT.

We have found our home in Kernville. It is so cozy and warm after a cold day on the river it was a joy to walk across the street from Sierra South and be home that fast. Could not have been better.

This rental is very clean. No frills but not sparse, it had just about everything we needed. Convenient location, easy to find and close enough to walk to most stores and attractions. The owner is super nice and helpful. Overall a very nice place and very affordable. The people in town are very friendly, too.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Studio was very Roomy, Clean, has a well stocked kitchen, and the bed was very comfortable. Betty the owner was very helpful and answered any questions we had promptly. Perfect location, walking distance to town and a lot of beautiful hiking near by. We would definitely stay here again!

The location of this property was in walking distance of downtown Kernville. Close to two local breweries, store and laundry. Kitchen was well stocked, the neighbors were quite. Would stay again. It really worked for the two of us, if you had kids it might be tight.

Easy to get to. Perfect and cozy for 2 people. So much fun tubing on the river. With the unusual high temps the rental was cool with the air evaporative cooler. Actually a life saver! Location was quiet, great places to eat and lots to do.

The apartment is located right in the middle of Kernville so access to food and other shopping opportunities are easily within walking distance. For the inexpensive price per night I was very happy with the accommodations. Cons: No internet connection.

From the beginning to the end Betty was soooo easy to work with. And when I say the home is clean, I mean CLEAN! Not to mention how cute the little home is! The other reviews made it sound like a quick easy walk to the river but we didn't know the area so we drove to the main public park /river because hauling our ice chest and other necessities didn't sound pleasing to us. It's only about a 2 minute drive. I will definitely book this home again! Thanks Betty!

I have to admit I felt a little disappointed when I first saw the building where we stayed, but, this turned out to be a great place. The studio apartment was roomier than expected and we could leave the bed down and still get around without difficulty. We thought there was a sitting area but this turned out to be a space in the back. However, once it became shaded, about 6:30 in the evening, it turned out to be a great place to read or just sit outside. The shower has two balance bars which we truely appreciated. Everything we needed was there to make breakfast in. Overall, a very good experience.
