This owner operated unit is a recently refurbished condo. A one bedroom efficiency suite that provides all the comforts of home and convenience.
Please Note: While this unit is capable of up to 6 guests, it is an efficiency unit that technically allows up to 4 adults (two in Master Bedroom - two using fold out sofa) and 2 children (bunk beds) ... however, typically this unit is better suited for a couple, or a couple with small children, or potentially up to 3 adults, especially if a longer stay (4+ days) is desired (closet space is minimal). Anything beyond this is likely to not meet Renter expectations..
This particular unit is quiet and centrally located within the Casa Del Mar property. A private balcony with a beach view. Walk across the Seawall to newly rebuilt beaches and fishing pier. Restaurants, shops, and stores within walking distance. Numerous other Galveston attractions (too many to list here) just minutes away via vehicle, local transportation, or bike. Two pools to choose from, one of which is two floors down from elevator or stair access (elevator and stairs are just 20 feet away from suite front entry, through two end hallway noise reducing double doors).
A queen size bed in the bedroom, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area. Comfortable 8" thick custom mattress bunk beds mostly suitable for children (25" x 72"). A studio kitchen fully populated with utensils and amenities. A microwave, refrigerator, stove, oven, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. Upgraded bath. A flat screen cable TV in the living area, another in the bedroom. Both televisions also have WIFI features. An entertainment center that includes a Blu-ray and even a VCR player (for old school enthusiasts!).
Plus, it's the little things ... paper towels, toiletries, beach towels, board games, video library, usb charge stations, iron board, hair dryer, extra blankets, more. It's the things you don't see. Like a new coastal rated AC, a new tank less on demand water heater, a high platform bed frame in the bedroom to store luggage, ... the kind of things that only an owner can appreciate if they stay themselves ... more.
For your convenience, the Casa Del Mar facility provides covered parking (required upon arrival, a $40 parking fee for up to 2 vehicles, Cash not accepted), interior entrances, BBQ area, picnic area tables, guest laundromat, ice makers, vending machines, internet, security, elevators, non smoking property, courtyard, 2 pools (1 heated in Texas winter months).
This condo suite is owner operated. Perfectly suited for a romantic get away, a weekend event, or a small family vacation. For a longer term winter monthly rental, contact owner for additional details and savings. For one, stays of 30 days or more do not require hotel tax.
Please note pets are not allowed within the Casa Del Mar community. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms.

This fee will not show in your VRBO or Home Away booking.

This condo was a delightful place for our short weekend visit. It was exactly like the pictures with some extra provisions to make you feel like it’s a second home away from home. There were snacks and water bottles provided, which was a very nice welcoming gesture. If you want to lounge out at the beach, there were portable foldable chairs, beach towels, and sand toys available for use. If you plan to do some laundry, I recommend bringing your own quarters for the washer and dryer. Each load to wash or dry is $2 for 60 minutes.
Mitch and Tina were wonderful hosts and very responsive if you had any questions. I was impressed that the entire property and common areas were clean and bug free. I will definitely return in the future. 😊

It was great! Had all the accommodations we needed to be comfortable. Even had stuff for us to use at the beach, which was a great surprise. I would definitely stay there again if we come back.

We had the absolute best vacation and so much of that had to do with our stay at the condo. The description of the property was spot on. The property is GREAT and it is in one of the best locations on the island. We love to fish so being directly across from the 61st fishing pier was so conveniently. It is also walking distance to most things to do.
So about the condo. Upon arrival we were pleased that checking in and parking was a breeze. Once inside the condo we were shocked with all the “extras” they provided that most never think to do. They had sand toys, boogie boards, beach towels, and a glider for the kids. Huge plus in my daughters eyes. Then when we got to the living room and kitchen we realized they had everything you could want and more. They even had a platter with bags of cookies on the coffee table. Perfect snack after the 6 hour trip. The cleanliness of this condo is top notch, honestly the entire property and both pools were extremely clean. It smelled amazing and the linens and towels had the fresh out of the dryer feel/smell. I honestly could go on and on about this condo. We plan to return hopefully sooner than later. The host was amazing and very informative and had great communication. We even booked an extra night we loved it so much. If you are considering this property GO FOR IT! You won’t regret it.

The location and accommodations were excellent for us. The complex offers easy access to the beach, restaurants and shopping as well as a great pool on the grounds. The property owner was amazing! He checked in with us periodically and was very attentive to our needs. Thank you for making our winter get away an amazing experience!!

I enjoyed Galveston. I took many beach walks and runs, and biked all over town. There are lots of food options. I cooked fresh seafood many nights. I also enjoyed Greek Cajun and VietCajun, as well as a food truck on the seawall.
The condo is very small and could use some updating. I found the bed quite uncomfortable, resorting to sleeping on the couch (which was fine.) There is a disadvantage to the location. It is at one of the major intersections at the seawall and there is constant traffic noise.
I will give the condo management credit for keeping the grounds in very nice condition. The mantenance staff was very friendly.

Best unit I have stayed in to date.
Of course this property is great. I have stayed here 4 times over recent years. But this unit was by far the best yet. Very clean. It was furnished with almost everything you will need. But it also had many smaller things that other units don't bother with (shampoo, hand soap, coffee, extra sealed toothbrush and mouthwash, etc, too many to list). Communication and access were easy and better than many others. Location is great being near the elevator end and also ice machine. Extra waters and snacks were very appreciated. It was very quiet and peaceful with a great view. Highly recommended!

Babe's Beach Get-Away
This place was perfect for our girl's get-away. I have stayed at Casa Del Mar many times through the years, and this unit was one of the cleanest and nicest that I've ever rented. Thank you, Mitch and Tina, for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. I'm looking forward to our next visit in July.

Really great experience
The condo worked so well for us. We had access to the pool, the beach, and all the things we needed around us. The owners were really great. We had a conflict with checking out at the exact checkout time, and the owners were awesome and let us check out a couple hours late. They were so nice, and really quick to respond. The property was clean and secure. The view was quite nice as well!
Overall, we highly recommend this condo. We plan to stay again when we return to Galveston!

We're ready to go back
The whole experience was well thought-out and easy. The property was as advertised and well fitted with everything we needed. There was a slight problem with access because my wife uses a mobile scooter to get around and the entry door threshold is is a couple of inches high. It was mildly difficult to get in and out of the condo. A maintenance man saw us struggling late during our visit and told us that we could call the office and request a ramp. At that point, we didn't bother. But a heads up before arrival would have been helpful. It was a totally enjoyable weekend and we thank the owners for being cordial and responsive.
