About this cabin rental

Cozy cabin on the best fishing hole on a beautiful mountain lake. Cabin has three bedrooms and a loft, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, and all the usual amenities (cable tv, wireless internet, outdoor grill, washer/ dryer, etc). The second story deck looks out over the lake and our private dock. Just minutes from historic Truckee in the beautiful Sierra Mountains. Enjoy fishing, swimming, boating, biking, and hiking just by stepping out the door.

We have stayed here a few times now, we love the peace and solitude. Sitting on the deck looking at the lake with my coffee is my favorite while my husband takes his coffee to the private pier to fish. The house is always perfect and has everything to meet our needs.

This place was amazing! Right on the lake and amazing views. It was perfect for the end our end of summer trip before school. I can’t wait to book again.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this cabin. For starters the listed amenities says "hot tub" and "spa whirlpool" THERE IS NO HOT TUB. The cabin is extremely dirty, pendant lights in the kitchen are covered with dirt and cob webs. TONS of expired food left in the refrigerator and in the cupboards. Cobwebs on all other light fixtures. Dirt and crumbs in the kitchen drawers. Couch was extremely uncomfortable (especially for the price of this cabin). The gas fireplace downstairs was inoperable, and when I called property manager I was told they left a small space heater, and that "there are extra blankets" The space heater was no bigger than a two slice toaster, and DID NOT heat the room...This is in the HIGH SIERRAS in LATE NOVEMBER...it was 12 degrees at night! There was no vent on the stovetop so everything you cook lingers in the cabin (unless you open the windows with it 20 degrees outside). Absolutely filthy BBQ! We used it the first night, and good thing we were keeping an eye on it. We ran outside and opened the lid and there was a full on FIRE in the drip pan under the grill and burners. Had to remove food, let the massive fire burn out then continue. There was zero furniture on the upper deck (in photos there are table and chairs) The stairs leading to the lower level are extremely old and questionable. Renters prior had a dog, and there were a dozen piles of dog feces at the bottom of the stairs. WAY OVERPRICED for what it is.

We loved everything about this house was just perfect for our short vacation we would comeback for other vacations. One negative thing is the cleaning person was there even before our check out time was getting in our way and telling us what to do and not to do and i dont think thats right the earliest she should have arrived is 11 so she doesn't interrupt the vacationers.

This property is a real gem! Beautiful cabin. Great location right on the lake. Caught a rainbow trout right off the dock! Has all the amenities you need. Great place to relax & unwind. Really enjoyed our stay!

Wonderful spacious cabin, right on the water. Very peaceful, beautiful views and comfortable beds. The private dock was amazing. All the amenities you need for a fabulous family vacation. Highly recommend this rental.

We have stayed here several times. The fishing is amazing. We love staying here as check in is simple, the place is always well stocked and clean and the view of the lake is the best. The driveway is steep. We drive down for loading and unloading then park up in front of the garage. Especially if a storm is coming in. It’s the best way to avoid chaining up!

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The location on the lake couldn't be better and the house was well equipped and clean as described. We used the kayaks and paddle boards which were a hit. Looking forward to another trip next year.

Another wonderful stay

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. The first time was 5 years ago, and the property is still just as nice. You can't beat the location being right on the lake with private dock and beautiful view. The woodwork inside the cabin is beautiful, and the cabin is very spacious and clean.

We all had a great time especially since the lake was right there. Caught fish off the dock, rented a boat, canoed, paddle boarding and swimming. We will be back and appreciate this family for sharing their beautiful home with us. My 3 yr old grandson said, “ I love our home.”

What a wonderful property, Donner Lake right out the door, private dock, what a find. Sue the owner was very helpful and the place was clean and had everything you need for the weekend. Pictures don't really do the place justice. We had 4 adults and 3 teens but you could fit many more people. We hope to return soon, highly recommended!!

House was exactly as described. Very comfortable, had everything we needed! Super cute, and VERY clean. Serene view of the lake from the recliners in the living room. Hosts were quickly responsive to a question I had about the WiFi (which was fast). The only caveat was the driveway in winter. According to the owners it doesn’t always get plowed, and it was hard to get from the house to the street due to the slope of the driveway.

I've typically never rate anyone all 5 stars! We loved your home away from home. That's what it felt like...coming home. Everything in the home was great from the furnishings to the supplies in the cupboards! We've stayed at many places and felt we needed to restock their supplies...this was awesome...can't wait to return! Thank you again for allowing everyone to share your home!

This cabin was perfect for a girls weekend. Well equipped and very comfortable, and a stunning view of the lake as well as easy access and kayaking or paddle boarding in warmer months. Looking forward to returning.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this lovely home! It is very well equipped for fun on the water and we enjoyed the available canoe and paddleboards. The view of the lake and use of the private dock makes this an extra special property, we look forward to renting this home again!

Cabin is ideal for kids. With private dock and water activities avl at cabin ( ie canoe, kayak, paddle boards) kids have plenty of options. 2nd time there and already planning our next stay.
