Lovely base to experience the area. Just check what essential or non essential works are planned.
Everything would have been lovely: except for things detailed below which were beyond staff control. However those there at the point of concern did there utmost to make things right ; as far as possible.
In addition: Having planned to eat at the on-site restaurant most nights we were disappointed that we were not made aware of staffing problems; which seemed to impact on opening times, supply shortages: meaning seemingly restricted menus and cost was disproportionate to the food delivered. Management on hand were very pleasant and accommodating; where the were able. This however meant that we could not take the chance to eat in the restaurant again and needed to make other arrangements. The problem was that all but one local pub did not serve in the evening and it was too hot to eat during the day, The reason that we left a day early. On arrival it was difficult to access the space in front of the lodge due to overgrown shrubbery. The morning of our third day heavy machinery arrived in the area where we would sit.We had no warning and had towels etc hanging outside. This was sorted after the weekend. On a humid hot day we had to close all openings as soil dust was being created by a machine pulling up a tree & gauging out a trench. Then the arrival a loading trailer to facilitate the operation to removal of the lodge next o us. At the time more work was in progress to the left of the lodge where a base was being prepared; we assume for a new lodge.Following the tree removal we inquired as to more noisy / dusty work that was scheduled and planned to vacate the lodge at that time. Staff initially offered to clean any residue or move us. Not a good idea in the current heat! Following negotiation the two and a bit days where we felt Iill at ease we’re extended by two days. However we still had the detritus of the operation around us and we’re unable to relax.

Stunning location with access to the beautiful New Forest National Park. Great staff and facilitis
Stunning location (new area for us!) Staff superb
After meeting another visitor who paid £700 for a week in a 4 berth lodge I was very disappointed as I had paid over £500 for two nights in a 4 berth lodge. Very disappointed and annoyed at having to overpay by so much ! Indoor pool rather tired I thought
