This fully renovated, split level house is designed for two families with children, yet still affordable for the single family who wishes oceanfront accommodation without having to coordinate their vacation plans with other parties.
The cottage features a modern, scandanavian kitchen, spacious dining area and living room area with cathedral ceilings, smart recessed lighting, and an enclosed, screened-in porch over looking the ocean. The kitchen is fully equipped with integrated appliances, natural wood cabinets, brushed stainless steel handles and knobs and a synthetic stone counter top.
The property has five bedrooms, including three bedrooms and a full bath on the upper floor and two bedrooms and a full bath on the lower floor. The lower floor bath has an oversized shower area, ideal for multiple children. The lower floor bath is fitted with mosaic glass tile.
The upper floor bath has an oversized tub, a separate frameless, shower enclosure, toilet, urinal and vanity sink. The upper bath is also fitted with glass mosaic tile.
The floor of the kitchen and dining room area is fitted with a porcelain tile. The living room area is fitted with natural Oak hardwood flooring. The entire upper floor is also fitted with natural Oak hardwood flooring. The lower floor, including the fourth bedroom, the fifth bedroom and the recreation room, is fully carpeted. The floor of the laundry area is fitted with porcelain tile.
The property has a multi-zone, multi thermostat, central air conditioning system for precision comfort. Other amenities include washer, dryer, hdtv, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, and a ceiling fan.
The enclosed, screened-in porch has a 7' picnic table to accommodate large groups, four Adirondack chairs, two chaise lounge chairs and a number of side tables and durable plastic chairs.
The cottage has cable HDTV service to the living room and the lower floor, fifth bedroom. The living room has a flat screen, high definition television. The cottage also has network cabling to all five bedrooms and Wifi, high speed, Internet access.
Cellular telephone service is available in the area.
The recreation area on the lower floor has a ping pong table.
The property is a smoke free, pet free environment and is respectful of tenants who have allergies to dogs and cats.
The refund policy is contingent on backfilling the reservation. On the event that the week is rebook at the same rate, we refund the deposits monies of the cancelling tenant.
You must be at least 25 years old to rent the property.
The property is not available for high school graduation parties or similar celebrations.

We’ve stayed here 3x and each time have loved our stay. With small children it’s the best access to the beach being right on the path.

Bethany Beach is quieter than many other beach destinations but still a short drive from action
Location of property is right next to sand dunes You can see/hear the ocean from the screened deck
Comfortable beds
Lots of space to spread out and visit
This is a smaller older property than many but has numerous renovations and is well maintained
There’s some minor issues—driveway is narrow (but we fit a minivan and SUV), a bush juts into the driveway brushing your car
Some parts of the house appear to have repairs in process but these are mostly cosmetic (eg on the ceiling what appears to be a new light fixture or something coming)
Showers are great (rain type shower head, hot water, good pressure), very nicely equipped kitchen
Manager is very responsive and helpful
Beach is amazing
Numerous restaurants, ice cream, shops within 10 min drive (some within 10 min walk)

Beautiful setting and very well cared for home. Instant hot water with great shower pressure, air co do too I guess works beautifully. Nice big screen porch. Furnishings and some mattresses need to be updated.

I liked the nostalgic feel of this home. As a longtime former owner of property near the inlet, it reminded me of summers in the area as a child before all the development took over. The screened porch is by far the best feature!
My only negative comment would be that I believe the listing says the home has 3 bathrooms, but there are only 2 separate rooms that are bathrooms. One of them has a toilet and a urinal, however, as well as a shower stall separate from the bathtub, so maybe that's where the third bathroom gets counted. To be fair, we could have asked about this beforehand, and I'm sure Greg would have clarified, as he is very diligent about replying to questions.
Overall, the property is a GREAT value and the location can't be beat.

Very comfortable cottage that sits in a private community (and beach)!! Very quite and friendly neighborhood! The Home sits on the sand with a ocean view! What more could you ask for!! This is our second year staying at the home, and were all ready looking forward to next year! Very recommended!!! Stay salty 🤙

The location is outstanding on a private beach with ocean view. Very workable for 11 people to sleep. Two bathrooms and outdoor shower are useful. I wish the master bedroom had ensuite bathroom., but the owner does describe this as a cottage, so fair enough. The living room furniture is old and doesn't look right considering the interior design. The outdoor grill is really too small for 11 but we managed. The a/c is superb! The art work is interesting and unique to the house. The garden is totally unkempt and the outdoor appearance of the house is shabby, the path is always wet from the roof. I was sol relived to enter the house and find that it is well kept with new floors and an easy to clean kitchen. The living space works really well. We enjoyed the table tennis room, the deck. The selling points for us are the low porch - you feel like you are right in the dunes --and you walk out the back door in your bare feet onto the beach path, and jump on the sand and into the ocean in under a minute. We had a great time. Thank you to the owner who is the best email communicator ever.

Really happy I found this place! It's a perfectly located, cute house right on the beach! My family got bad weather this weekend so could not take advantage of the beach as much as we would have I liked to but just staying in a house that is pretty much on a beach was a awesome! The inside of the house is nice and spacious & it accommodated our party of 11 perfectly. Greg seems really nice & very good about making sure we ok & with check in & check out.

Our stay in this beach front home was just what we needed! The house had plenty of space and was very clean. The screened in porch was the spot where we spent most of our time. Can't beat having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and listening to the waves! The owner was very easy to communicate with. A+ experience!

The location is perfect (private beach, but you can take a walk along the beach up to the Bethany Boardwalk) and the house is very nice. The kitchen is great, the screened in porch is spacious, the beds are actually comfortable, and the ping pong table was fun for a family tournament! Owner was super responsive.

The Stecher Cottage is ideally located right on the beach, a short walk over the boardwalk. Two bathrooms accommodated our large family. We love this place!

From the outside this property is not much to look at but the inside more than makes up for it. We found it had more than enough room for all 11 of us, a modern kitchen, and a great screened in porch from which to sit and look out at the ocean.

My favorite week of the year is always spent at 20 Dune Rd in Middlesex Beach in Bethany Beach Delaware. With 5 adults and 3 little kids, we were comfortable and cozy and cool with the ac. We spent many hours on the front porch enjoying our view of the ocean. Close to shops and restaurants makes this an enjoyable experience. We’ll be back again next year!!

This was our family's 4th year. We just love it! The screened in porch looking at the beach is wonderful. You are close to so many things. Beach doesn't get crowded because it's private. Their is also a snow cone truck that comes right next to the house.
Now the only problem I have is it needs a real good cleaning. The bathroom showers up and down stairs need cleaned. All mildew and moldy (floor and walls). Downstairs bath has a curtain and mold and mildew are 3 ft up it. We didn't even want to take a shower. I brought bleach and just pored it all over. We wore our flip flops and was very careful not to touch the walls. Every time we went i would clean right away (swiffer,wipe counters and light switches,cover the couch and chairs with sheets,ect.).
Like I said it just needs a good cleaning and new cleaning company. Other then that it's a great house!

We spent a week at the beach house this June as we have done every year for the past four years. We are never disappointed with our stay in this house, very comfortable, close to the beach, great setting.

This is our second year in the house. The location, on private Middlesex beach, is the best in the area. We absolutely love the screened in porch and the views from the house. The furniture is a bit worn but totally fine for a beach house.
We are planning to book again next year.

The house was exactly as advertised. The ocean view was amazing! Loved the large screened in porch to eat and hang out looking at the ocean while staying away from the sun, the wind and bugs. There is also a large deck great for grilling (really good gas grill) and for washing and storing all the sandy toys.
The kitchen is big with lots of storage and very good appliances.
The bedrooms are pretty big too with comfortable mattresses, lots of pillows as well as storage and have very cozy blankets.
Water pressure was great everywhere.
AC and heat were very efficient.
One last thing, the owner has always been helpful and answered any questions/Conscerns in a timely manner.
Overall, we are really happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this property for rental.

Another beautiful week at the beach. The house is next to the walkway to the beach and is beachfront. The improvements to AC kept everyone comfortable. The new floors were perfect for my 8 month old grandson. Beds were comfortable and showers have awesome pressure. Everything you need is there. The best part is the screened in porch. Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular. Feel very safe on this private beach. Greg is quick to reply to emails and/or texts. We will be back for our fourth year in 2016!
