About this house rental
Enjoy breathtaking wine country views from this peaceful hillside retreat. A vast deck off the chef's kitchen creates a spectacular outdoor living space, offering swimming, lounging, grilling, dining and, after dark, star-gazing around the fire pit. Four spacious Master Suites, each with an en suite bathroom, provide super-comfortable accommodation for gatherings of family or friends. A secluded Office is included.
Cavedale Ridge overlooks Sonoma Valley with the wineries and restaurants of historic Sonoma, Glen Ellen and Kenwood only a 20 minute drive away. Napa Valley is a 45 minute drive over the mountain.
This is a rural location with a steep, narrow and windy access road. Particularly nervous drivers are discouraged. No parties are allowed on the property but guests are rewarded with serenity, luxury and a real escape!
YEAR ROUND VACATION
Cavedale Ridge is idyllic at any time of year. In the Summer, the pool (heated from Memorial Day weekend through September), spa and deck are the focus of activity. During Spring and Fall, the folding doors between the kitchen and deck create an indoor/outdoor living space that you can flex according to the weather. They also give quick access to the outdoor spa (available all year). Even in the Winter, its light-filled contemporary interiors with panoramic views through picture windows make this an uplifting and warm retreat. At night, year round, the firepit comes into its own.
FOUR MASTER SUITES
Cavedale Ridge has four comfortable, spacious Master Suites, each with a modern ensuite bathroom. Two of the Master Suites (Sky Suite and Garden Suite) are in the Main House and two (Sunset Suite and the Guest House) have separate entrances surrounding a covered porch. All the Suites have King beds but the Garden Suite can instead be made up with two Twins.
INDOOR/OUTDOOR LIVING
In the Main House, the open-plan ground floor has a large living room, Chef's kitchen and dining space that open straight onto the pool and spa deck.
The Guest House has its own private living area with a fireplace, wet-bar, and a spacious covered porch is shared with the Sunset Suite – somewhere shady for hot days, a quiet place to relax away from all the poolside activity, or another spot for watching the sunset over cocktails.
In addition to the Main House indoor dining table and the outdoor dining area by the pool, there is also a shady lunch spot under the olive trees. This provides a choice of three areas for relaxing meals.
DEDICATED HOME OFFICE
Off the covered porch there is a large home office room which can be closed off from the rest of the group. We have Starlink internet with speeds of over 60Mbps.
AIR CON & HEATING
The Main House enjoys under-floor heating throughout, with in-room air-conditioning in the bedrooms. In the Guest House there is central air-conditioning and heating. The Sunset Suite and office enjoy underfloor heating and air-conditioning.
PARKING
Parking is available for a maximum of four cars on the premises. We have security cameras covering the drive and the parking areas.

Perfect layout for 4 couples. Each bedroom has its own en suite bath - which was lovely. Although the driveway was long and narrow - the views were spectacular and worth it. PJ was a great property manager. Would definitely recommend this property.

I can't say enough about this beautiful home. We had 4 couples and plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen and bedrooms had everything that we could have possibly needed even with the chef that came in to cook us a meal. The views were spectacular and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire or hot tub enjoying them. I hope to be back again to enjoy more wineries.

Our 3rd time at the property and still left in awe of this amazing home and team that supports its renters. We won the rain/storm lottery this year but it was actualy awesome to be on site safe and sound watching the clouds and weather roll up the valley sitting in front of the fireplace indoors and outside at the most amazing fire pit in the world during breaks in the weather. The hot tub was perfect! The new additions opening up downstairs for a 2nd master suite were really appreciated! Internet was fast as in previous stays for streaming and meetings. PJ who is the nearby white glove service contact is a great and fast communicator and even made extra trips to receive some late mail order food that was delivered to the property to make sure it wasn’t returned. Thanks PJ again! We had a chef come in this time and they and we are still very appreciative of all the gourmet kitchen has to offer— nice glassware, decanter, restaurant quality kitchen equipment— and stovetops, fridge space and a wine/champagne chiller to let anyone shine. The fire pit is the crown jewel of the property— you have to spend a few hours out there unplugging from everything and you’ll know what I’m talking about! The whole home and property held up during the rain, we all felt comfy and secure during the 5” of rain we got. The road is great after its repaving a couple years ago. All in all 5 stars for the property and crew and service-- We will be back!

Amazing trip away from the city! The drive up the hill is best during the day.. it bit scratchy at times, but that was because we have 6 people in a large SUV.. cars are no problem.

From the great communication before and onsite with PJ, to the flexibility for us adding more days, and of course the property itself it was a magical trip for us. We are very appreciative of the newly surfaced road and the remodeling and upgrades since our last stay. Its the best firepit in the world, and the hot tub was wonderful in the cold weather. We were able to host a private chef in the completely outfitted gourmet kitchen again, and if you stay we highly recommend hiring Isa Jacoby- we got another world class Charcuterie and veggie cheese Board and she even made treats for the kiddos. Everything was in great working order and the internet was solid like it was last visit. We're excited about the next remodeling plans PJ shared with us as well and can’t wait for our next visit. We miss those sunrises and sunsets and that view already.

A group of seven colleagues met up here and cook, ate, drank and relaxed for a long weekend. It is absolutely serene. So many different sitting areas and views to enjoy. The road is absolutely not an issue. We would definitely stay here again.

This home had views that did not disappoint! Just sitting outside by the amazing fire pit or swimming was the highlight of our trip. The home is very comfortable and easily accommodated 2 families. We would adventure during the day and stay in for dinner at night and it was one of our best trips to CA. Would highly recommend this property and would stay there again without hesitation. The property manager PJ was so helpful as well!!

The spacious, open architecture is superbly laid out to enjoy hillside valley views & sunsets from various spaces of the house. The indoor-outdoor design lets guests enjoy the valley breezes in every space and makes enjoying indoor-outdoor living easy and pleasant. Our group was composed of cooks, chefs & sommeliers who found the kitchen, outdoor grill, and cooking tools to be just right to make some magic at every meal. Everyone enjoyed a mix of morning yoga, daytime swims, nighttime jacuzzi, and long hillside walks. Property Mgr PJ is delightful and responsive; she tuned the details that made our stay extra special. This hillside beauty goes in our re-visit book.

Awesome wine country house
This is a great house for outdoor living in wine country. We had 7 adults doing yoga and exercise classes poolside before venturing out for the day. Dinners on the same deck with incredible sunsets. Happy times around the firepit. We will rent it again.

We had a wonderful time on this trip. We loved the house. Isa made us a lovely meal.
Michelle was our driver for the 4 days. PJ the house manager ( along with Esa and Michelle) was very helpful in helping us put our plans into action. A great and memorable time was had by all.

Amazing Propery and Views
This home is absolutely amazing! The views are stunning and the house has everything you could possibly need during your stay. Norman (owner) and PJ (property manager) were very proactive, providing both details for smooth travels/check in and also about recommendations for activities, restaurants, transportation, etc. My husband and I stayed in the guest apartment and our adult kids stayed in the main house. The spacious kitchen made meal prep a fun, social family activity! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back!

What a great property. Excellent communication with the managers before we got there-- the place was immaculate and the view is amazing. Gourmet kitchen and everything was in great working order. The road to the house wasnt bad at all--the pdf directions provided were very clear and easy to follow. We highly recommend booking Isa through the property as she prepared some amazing dishes for us. The wifi was great as well. The hot tub was perfect and the firepit was amazing to sit around at night after sunset. Cant wait to book again!

Wow house, with an amazing view!!
This property was even better than we could’ve imagined. We never got tired of looking out over the valley whether it was while drinking our morning Nespresso, or the delicious Benzinger wine that was left for us. We hope that this house will be available any time we return to the area.

Nice house with a great view
I think the previous reviews have been accurate. The road to the property is a 15 minute drive from the house to the main road on a winding, mostly single lane road on the edge of the mountain which is not for anyone afraid of heights. Once you get to the house the views and house are awesome. There is no just running to the store for a carton of milk. Plan your day for one trip down and one trip up the mountain. We had a great time and would definitely consider staying again.

one lane road, no lights only one car can pass mostly, no guard rails, very dangerous. don't stay unless you don't plan to leave. owner not flexible would not work with us.

Beautiful home - high drive
We had a fantastic stay in this home. It’s gorgeous and perfectly stocked. The drive up the mountain (hill?) was a least 25 minutes and there are blind switch backs - with no railings. If you are afraid of driving on a road like this do not rent this house. Once you are up the road the house is definitely worth it.
The pool, fire pit, and view of the valley more than make up for the treacherous drive.

Spectacular property
Great attention to detail, fantastic views and amenities, this property has it all. The only minor drawback is the drive to the top of mountain to reach the house...which is exactly what enables the absolutely breathtaking vistas. Property manager is extremely attentive, thorough and responsive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Heaven on top of a mountain
This house is everything it states and more. It was stunning. Plenty of room for 3 couples to share space and have privacy. Really enjoyed mornings on deck with coffee and evenings at the fire pit. We would have liked a little tour/explanation when we arrived but thankfully there is a WELCOME BOOK to describe what the house has and how to use things. When it says the road to the house is unique, they were not lying. It’s a single lane 12 minute roller coaster ride especially in a large vehicle. Two cars barely squeezed by each other. Thankfully the local taxi company was familiar with the road and drove us everywhere. This house made our stay in Napa that much more enjoyable- beats a hotel room hands down.
