Refugio Del Amor (Refuge of Love) is a 25 person 10,000 sq ft resort vacation estate that provides an unforgettable vacation experience, especially for families. The owners personally built & manage Refugio and provide excellent response time and service. Set on a 2 acre mountaintop in the Friendly Village of Fallbrook, El Refugio has 7 private suites with in-suite full baths. All 7 suites have views, a king size bed, TVs and many include additional twin or queen beds. Note the main level was designed for handicap access and use.

El Refugio has spectacular views of the distant mountains and valley, breathtaking sunsets and an incredible night sky. On a clear day you can see the ocean. Every room has amazing lighand a gorgeous view (with the exception of the movie theatre :-).
Fallbrook is known for its perfect weather, boasting 300+ days of sunshine, warm days and cool nights. It is home to numerous golf courses, wineries and hiking trails. San Diego beaches are 25 miles away and the Safari Park, Zoo and Legoland are also a short drive from Fallbrook. The Temecula valley is just 15 minutes north with golf, horseback riding, gaming casinos, more restaurants, wineries and breweries. Those considering a vacation rental in Temecula please also realize that during hot weather Fallbrook is about 10 degrees cooler due to the temperate ocean climate spilling in directly from the coast.

We had a fabulous week. The house is spectacular and the pool with a slide is a real highlight. Our grandkids couldn’t get enough of the slide.

We've been taking our family on a yearly vacation for around 20 years. We have grown into a family of 19, including children, teens, adults, married couples & seniors! Everyone absolutely loved it! There was more that enough room! We were all so comfortable in our rooms & so many areas to hang out, inside & out.
I can't begin to tell you how much our family enjoyed not only the space, but also all the things this home had to offer. From the huge game room, amazing theater, music room (someone was in there almost constantly), infinity pool with incredible slide, basketball court, numerous balconies...must I go on?
Everyone's favorite!! Already planning on returning next year!!
Steve is a gracious host and always available to answer any questions we had.

We had our family reunion with 20 persons between 18 and 87. The house was perfect and worked for everyone. There was space to be together as a large group and other areas for smaller groups with privacy when needed. The supplies were fully stocked including trash and storage bags, foil, etc. We always make the majority of our meals during the reunion and the kitchen was fantastic. Room to prepare as a group, large gas burners, several ovens and with the additional fridges in the garage, everything was kept cool. Thank you Tammy and Steve for a wonderful experience.

It was perfect for our family! The 3 ovens, 5 fridges and 2 dishwashers were so helpful! The kitchen was big enough that a few could work together without stepping on each other. We even used the outside grill! Everyone LOVED the pool! The slide was so fun and the hot tub was big enough for a few people! We loved that the pool heating was customizable. We were grateful for a few pool toys and life jackets for the kids. We really appreciated the alarms on the doors out to the pool. The pool and landscaping people were not ever in our way. The foosball table was a huge hit! The theater room with a blanket for each recliner and hundreds of movies to watch was great! The piano and guitar got a lot of use. The view was beautiful! We loved the umbrellas and seating out on the deck and the market lights were fun too! The beds were comfortable and had soft sheets, even the foam mattress beds! I expected a piece of foam and it was literally a portable bed with sheets! We loved the carpet in the bedrooms and that they actually felt clean! The whole place felt clean! They anticipated our every need because the supplies that were available were not lacking. We even used some extra batteries! I was grateful I didn't have to bring 2 beach chairs from Utah! The extra sets of washing machines and dryers was helpful. Several of the adults mentioned how great the air conditioning was. The owners were so helpful and responsive!! We could not have asked for anything better! Thank you!

This home has become the standard of excellence for all our future vacations. There was at least one special attraction for everyone in our group. The house was exceptionally well maintained and stocked in all aspects. We all felt like royalty in this castle.

We just finished a weeklong family reunion. 17 of us ranging from grandparents down to newborns.
The property was amazing, sauna was amazing, hot tub was amazing, pool was amazing, views were amazing, sunsets were amazing, and everything else was amazing as well

This is an amazing home. It is perfect for a family. There is so many amenities that you can spend a week without leaving the property. Steve and Tammy were fabulous hosts, kind and helpful in everyway. Our teenage grandson summed it up when he said, lets just stay here forever. Thank you Tammy and Steve.

We had a large family group with little kids. Everyone had a WONDERFUL time - the kitchen was extremely well suited for our big dinners and the pool, hot tub and screening room were a huge plus for the kids!!!
The bedrooms were large and comfortable and there were bathrooms for almost every bedroom. Great location with an incredible view as well!!! Would highly recommend to everyone!!!

Our family reunion group of 25 had a fabulous time at El Refugio. There were lots of bedrooms and especially helpful was all the en suite bathrooms. The shared spaces for conversations, games, pool time were over the top fantastic. We also did some San Diego activities, hiking, breweries, wineries, however just hanging out at the resort-like house was amazing. Owner was very communicative and helpful. Our group was already talking about coming back again even before our reunion was over. Thank you Steve and Tammy for sharing your home with our large family reunion group!

Our week long stay at El Refugio was absolutely fabulous! We made many family memories with our children and grandchildren. The pool and slide were the biggest hit with everyone, as well as the movie theatre, game room and gym. The house was stocked beyond expectation and of course there was plenty of room for all to spread out. Tammy and Steve are wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back!

Amazing!! El Refugio was the perfect place for our family reunion. With 18 people there was plenty of room and so many options for things to do. We loved hanging by the pool and watching the sunset. Steve was so responsive and their house is beautiful. I can’t recommend this place enough. We would definitely come back again.

We had a family reunion with all of our grown children along with our grandchildren. The home was everything as advertised and more. Clean, beautiful and had so many amenities beyond what was advertised, we were amazed. Everyone in our family were so appreciative to be able to enjoy the home, the pool, game room, theater, Great Room, labrynth and spectacular views. Great property for our family vacation. There were 13 of us for a week long stay. We had absolutely everything we could need. Full kitchen and game room were used by all. The pool area was amazing even during our chilly stay. Communication with the owner was quick and answered any questions we may have had. We would definitely rent again!

Spacious, full of equipment, games, activities for all with corners to be private. Excellent views of the countryside and evening sunsets. All needs from kitchen, bedroom, piano room, gym, pool, fulfilled well. Interesting architecture and decor. Nothing missing - except maybe a chef?

The place was as advertised (if not better) and Steve and Tammy were wonderfully communicative. My family (up to 26 of us at one point) loved the home and had an excellent time. Would highly recommend for any group.

Every year, our extended family rents a house and this has been the best so far. The kids loved the pool and the movie theater. Adults favored the large kitchen, deck and great room for enjoying the meals with a beautiful sunset. Everyone loved having their own suite and enough space throughout the house that we were not tripping over each other. This is the first time we can get everyone to agree on a location for next year.

The Pool! Our all-ages family group of 19 enjoyed lounging poolside most of the time. Some of the kids took on the water slide. Many sights were within reach with short day trips as well. We enjoyed the many amenities, especially the large kitchen and theatre room. Lots of room for all and great views from the balcony. Thanks very much Steve for arranging the water and cribs.

Our family came from all over the US to enjoy spending a fun filled vacation together. We were not disappointed! The house was unbelievable, even better than the pictures. There was something and somewhere for everyone. I think we made use of every room in the house, but especially loved the pool. My 2 12 year old grandsons practically lived on the slide.
Steve was a wonderful host. He welcomed us at check in and explained everything in the home. He was also available for any questions through the week. The Kostic family gives the highest praise to El Refugio.

Perfect!!!
We had a group of 14 consisting of two grandparents and we hosted our three families including daughter and spouse with two kids aged 16 & 18, a son and one child aged 7 (his spouse and a second 5 year old son had to stay home due to the 5 ur old requiring minor surgery), and our second son and spouse with two kids aged 13 & 10. The home was so complete, so self contained, that no one took any side trips for entertainment. Kids couldn’t get enough of the beautiful pool and amazing slide, the jacuzzi, the huge game room with pool table, ping pong and fooball, and esspecially the huge home theater. The adults had a very peaceful and relaxing 7 days because all the kids were always busy and happy leaving adults to keep an eye on the kids while enjoying the pool, jacuzzi, beautiful and large work out room well supplied with weights, exercise equipment, stretch bands etc., plus lots of pool table action and ping pong
In the game room, And lots of reading and relaxing time thrown in. In a word, the perfect one week vacation home for families. 10 out of 10.

This beautiful home is easy to love. It is so well equipped, carefully cared for, has an awesome expansive view, has the nicest pool we’ve seen anywhere, and boasts multiple en-suite bedrooms. Our large family was so comfortable! We enjoyed and made good use of the game room, movie theater and gym/wellness studio too when we weren’t in the pool or the great room by the huge gorgeous kitchen. Great hosts too!

Checking in with a quick run down with Steve was as easiest we have ever encountered. The house pretty much runs its self. The pool and hot tub were a huge hit for us, not to mention the waterside for my adult kids was very entertaining. We have many videos of some really funny rides.
To make a long story short we will be back again and can't wait to have another amazing experience at Refugio Del Amor!

Great SoCal family vacation
This was a great family vacation spot. We were in the area for a wedding. The grounds were lovely and the quality of the home was exceptional. The home is very spacious and comes equipped with everything one would need. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a large home offering a peaceful, private and luxurious experience. The photos don't do it justice!

spectacular vacation rental
This was the second time that our large group stayed at El Refugio. Steve's craftsmanship and attention to detail in this house has to be seen to be believed. The beds are clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked, and the game room is welcome for all ages. If you have never experienced a SoCal sunset from a hot tub overlooking a knife-edge pool, this is place where you want to start.

Wedding Week Home Base
My husband and I rented this gorgeous Fallbrook home for our family to all stay together during the week of our sons wedding. This house is stocked with EVERYTHING that you could possibly need for a large family! The theater room, rec room/game room (complete with a pool table, ping pong and foosball) and home gym kept our guests occupied both day and night. The huge great room and kitchen were the perfect place for us to host the Rehearsal Dinner and the wedding “after party” too. The seven bedrooms had plenty of sleeping space for our large family and all included a private bathroom as well. Since we were there in February and it was cold, we didn’t use the amazing pool, but the jacuzzi was a favorite spot for everyone to relax at night and take in the beautiful view. Steve and Tammy our VRBO hosts were so helpful and made us feel so very welcomed. Choosing this A+ vacation rental property to be our Wedding Week “home base” made this special family time perfect and we are already making plans to stay there again next year for a family reunion!
