About this house rental
Our highly rated vacation rental home is private, immaculately clean, whimsically decorated, professionally landscaped, and boasts one of the larger private pools, larger backyards, and larger 2+ bedroom homes on the Island. The spa is accented by iridescent glass. The 20' tall tiki hut was hand-built by Native Americans and houses the bar and seating for six. Inside your vacation rental, you'll find the highest quality furnishings, three smart TV's, a large master bedroom with king bed and a large walk-in closet. The guest room with its whimsical decor has two twin beds and a smart TV. And then there's the colorful 'futon room' (not private) that sleeps two most comfortably. You'll also find a large family room and game room and a separate dining room that seats six. Look inside the entertainment center for games, videos and books. Step out the door and you'll find two 20' by 10' decks with Weber grill and seating for six, and chaise loungers for two. If you're not walking to the beaches, or eating at the great restaurants, you can enjoy volleyball in the pool, mini pool on the game table, 'corn hole' or simply lounge at pool side. My wife and I chose this unique location because it is the safest and quietest part of the Island (less traffic), and it is between two of the finest pier restaurants on the Island and 150 yards from Waterfront Park and the bay beaches. You won't need a car because most of your enjoyment is within a short walking distance. You can also take the free trolley all the way down the island through Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach. If you love nature, you'll love the North End. Look for the wild green parrots, the woodpeckers, the night and great blue heron, manatees that regularly swim beneath the two piers, and dolphins, just to name a few of our favorites. When you're walking on the North End beaches, look for the baby sand dollars and trailing olive shells. This location is right in the middle of all the great North End activities: go north to Bean Point with its awesome sunsets (5-7 minute walk); go south to City Pier and Pine avenue's great shopping (8-10 minute walk), and west to the Gulf beaches (10-15 minute walk). Or you can take our 'secret path' short-cut out the back gate to North Bay park and beach (2-3 minute walk). Last, but certainly not least, you can walk 10 minutes south and use the facilities of Anna Maria Community Center with its tennis, fitness facility, and a host of scheduled activities at minimal cost.

This was the perfect place to stay with my husband and our son (just under a yr old). The house was the perfect size for us and had anything we needed from frying pans to pool/beach supplies. The location is also great as you’re within walking distance to both the beach and the bay. We’re already planning our trip for next year and will be returning to the Sassy Seahoirse. Owners were great and very easy to communicate with.

While not on the beach directly, access to the beach was simple (couple blocks walk). Even on the 4th of July weekend the portion of the beach we accessed was much less crowded than other beaches we've gone to during the same time period. Being within walking distance was hugely beneficial since parking at the access point was extremely limited.
The property itself was immaculate and well stocked with plenty of bath and beach towels, extra sheets and pillows, starter soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. The kitchen was the most well stocked we've seen, with plenty of cooking, serving, and utensils and (uncharacteristic of other places we stayed) plenty of NICE containers for leftovers.
The biggest draw for the "sassy seahorse", though, is the pool area in the back yard. Beautifully landscaped and private, the area was SO relaxing any time of day, and beautifully lit at night. Even in the heat of the day, the tiki hut with its fan was fine for dining outside. While there are certainly newer and bigger properties closer to the beach, in peaking over the fences I still feel this property had the nicest and most private of any we saw.
We would definitely go back to the Sassy Seahorse.

The property was a perfect home base for our family of four. Our youngest still naps so we appreciated the great pool and outdoor areas to utilize during naps after a break from the beach or fishing. The listing is exactly as stated and the owner is very helpful with any questions. Would highly recommend to others and return ourselves.

Our stay was truly wonderful. Not only is the location and the house/back yard a dream, but Larry was so kind and generous. Our daughter was sick our first two days of the trip and Larry was flexible and understanding. Also, the communication was 10/10. We highly recommend Larry and his home.

Our trip to Anna Maria Island was Thirty-three days of lush, tropical paradise that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. The house was clean, comfortable, and supplied with everything we could possibly need during our stay. It was also beautifully furnished and adorned with colorful art throughout. The pool/spa area was an oasis of tall flourishing palm trees, colorful plant life, and whimsical garden art. And to top it off, there was a large, furnished tiki bar for us to enjoy!
Our host, Larry was excellent! We’ve never experienced a more accommodating host. If we could give the Sassy Seahorse a 10-star rating, we would.

We loved everything about our stay. The house was so clean and comfortable and perfectly situated at the north end of AMI in a quiet friendly neighborhood. The backyard felt like a resort oasis with the beautiful foliage and furniture surrounding the pool and hot tub. We stayed busy on our rented golf cart and waiting for the gorgeous ocean sunsets at the end of our road.

While there is plenty to do on AMI, this property provides all you need. The pool and deck are just a relaxing spot surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Big family room to sit and socialize, watch TV or just read. Perfect location for a rest and relaxation get away. Already signed up for next year!

We have been coming back year after year to stay at the Sassy Seahorse! The back yard is perfect place to spend time outdoors when you are not at the beach. Walking to the bay side to see sunrise and the gulf side to see sunsets are our favorite. We love that the location is close to some of our favorite places to eat. Also, it has everything you need to enjoy a meals at home. The home is lovingly well taken care of. The hosts are very helpful & responsive.

We loved our stay at the Sassy Seahorse. It’s in the quiet part of AMI which was great. The property is themed and decorated perfectly. Having our own pool and spa was great after a day at the beach. Mr Larry and his wife are great hosts and really care about their tenants. Everything you need is onsite. We will be returning clients in the future.

This home is absolutely beautiful. The pictures are great, but to see the house and experience it in person is even better. The inside is perfectly decorated. So much care has been taken to carry the theme throughout the house. It is a very relaxing home. The hosts provide you with everything you need to enjoy your stay. That's just the inside. The outside is just amazing. The owners have created a perfect secluded paradise with the pool, hot tub and tiki hut. And the outdoor shower is the greatest! If you can pry yourself away from the house, it is in the perfect location. Quick walk to Bean Point, Rod and Reel and City Pier. Super quiet neighborhood. The owners are just the nicest people you could ever meet. If you are looking for the best place to get away for a relaxing stay on the island, this is the place. We will be back again!

We could not have enough wonderful things to say about this house and location. It was perfect for quiet evenings, beautiful sunsets on Bean Point, and a close walk to Rod & Reel Pier and Pine St. restaurants and shops. We rented a golf cart to be able to visit the further beaches and more easily find parking there. The home was comfortable, clean, and was the perfect amount of vacation quirky. Nobody wants to vacation in a neutral space that looks more like your home. The pool was relaxing after a hot beach day. The beds and furniture were cozy and comfortable. We had all we needed and more there at the home to entertain us and cook and even all the things necessary to enjoy the beach. Larry was a lovely person to talk to when he checked in to make sure that we were settled in well. It was a perfect vacation for our family and it’s a difficult place to leave!

What a beautiful beach house.
Immaculately clean and equipped with everthing you could possibly think of. Including a kettle for our cup of tea for us english folk. Close to all amenities and a few minutes walk to the beach. Larry & Carol the hosts personally introduced themselves to us and they were so helpful during our stay. Truly a gem and we would love return!

We have just returned to the cold and rainy UK after a fantastic week at the Sassy Seahorse! The accommodation far exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully decorated, so well equipped and the private pool area was enjoyed by us all. The outside games kept the children occupied for hours and are a great addition.
The house is in a great location. Easy to walk to the beaches on the gulf and bay side as well as some good restaurants and shops/cafes etc on Pine Ave.
The Sassy Seahorse is in such a peaceful location we all slept so well!

We’ve been frequent renters on AMI for many years. This home was one of our favorite ones for several reasons. The owners are very kind and with amazing communication. If you ever need anything, you will get a response every promptly. The backyard was fantastic! Large pool, a tiki area, and a hot tub are a big hit. Our stay at the Sassy Seahorse was absolutely fantastic. The house is adorable, clean and conveniently located. We enjoyed using the well appointed kitchen, the bed in the Master bedroom is so comfortable and the pillows too (so much so that my husband ordered the same pillows for our house). The backyard retreat is just amazing - pool, hot tub, 2 decks, multiple lounging & sitting areas with beautiful Palm Trees & landscaping. The beach items available for use (towels, cart, chairs, umbrella, etc) were great to have on hand for our short walk to the beach. Larry & Carol are just lovely and so helpful with any questions you may have. We highly recommend this beautiful property.
