About this house rental
Welcome to Tutu’s House! Step into 25B and be transported back to the days as a child visiting your favorite Auntie or Tutu’s (grandma) home. Furnishings are new versions of classic Hawaiiana with bamboo chairs and bar stools and even a fun Queen Size Wall Bed that folds down in the living room. Fall asleep watching the Smart TV while sitting in Uncle’s favorite leather chair.
Kitchen is original, find all you will need to create meals at home here including appliances, dishes, glasses, utensils and pot and pans.
New paint, new carpet, new drapes and some new furnishings in 2022.
Wailea Ekahi no longer allows private grills but they offer a beautiful gas grilling area at the community Pavilion and smaller grill stations throughout the property.
Bedrooms and laundry are located upstairs. Beds and bedding have all been updated as well as the towels for guest use. Large primary bedroom features high vaulted ceiling, King bed, TV, en suite bathroom and private lanai. Find 2 twin beds in the guest room, perfect for the kiddos. Or request the twins pushed together with a conversion kit into a comfy king bed. Guest room also has a full-size bathroom. Both rooms, upstairs feature central air conditioning. There is an additional powder room downstairs.
Located in the heart of Wailea, this complex offers 4 different pools to enjoy, including a large beachfront pool and pavilion! You also have direct beach access onto Keawakapu Beach, a beautiful beach that is perfect for beach walks and family beach days! Head to the left to access the world famous Wailea Beach Path, or head to the right for sunset cocktails at the nearby restaurants! It doesn't get much better than this!
New Fitness Center. The facility is available from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Located just inside the Beach Pavilion, there are 3 pieces of cardio equipment, dumbbells ranging from 1-50 lbs, and a few other accessories that provide a full body workout. You must be 18 or over, sign a waiver of release, and no swim attire is permitted. Close-toed athletic shoes are required and ask that users dress appropriately.

We had a great holiday on Maui, but this unit is old and run down. Very dark and right on the main drag so there is a lot of traffic noise. The Ekahi Development itself is quite nice. Great landscaping. Really good for families with young kids. But not good for couples. The main pool and pavillion and beach are packed. As long as the price stays reasonable for this unit, Wailea is a nice upscale area.

25b property is very dumpy. Not maintained with many items in disrepair. Feels like a old motel that has been maintained by a handyman for 30 years. I found the unit to be unsafe for children with no updates like gfci receptacles in kitchen and bathroom, loose tiles on window sills, oversized glass tops for furniture, and many others. Our 9 and 10 year old daughters were grossed out by the mold stain bathroom and had to be convinced to use the tub. The shower in the master bedroom has instructions about leaking and has a curtain against the back windows. This unit should not be rented out to vacationers and was deeply overpriced. To top it all off the unit immediately next door sharing a wall had construction going on and a demo hammer was being used. It was intense. The property managers let us out of the vacation rental but not without charging us $395 in fees. We found a unit in Kaanapali last minute has cbip could not accommodate us in a unit that met the basic requirements for our family of 6. The new unit was 10x better at the same price.

The complex and complex amenities that the unit is apart of are great, but the unit is very outdated, drab and dingy. The Unit seems to be barely maintained, the bathroom smelled of mildew, our electronics had trouble charging, and there were loose tiles near the window. All of the furniture, fabrics and appliances were extremely outdated and worn out. Much of the furniture was covered in glass, which isn't ideal for kids. The access to beach paraphernalia was also very limited. Lastly, we expect rental units like this to come with some bathroom and kitchen essentials, but these were lacking. We do not plan to return to this unit.

The location was great. We loved the pool and beach area. The townhouse was ok but needs an upgrade very soon. Unfortunately, the suite next door was being remodeled and demolition crews made our experience miserable. The hammering and chipping noise involved in the demolition made the stay in the room unbearable from 8a.m.- 4p.m. each day. If we knew this beforehand we wouldn't have stayed there. Very disappointed.

The resort is at a great location, great amenities and clean. This unit is a good size but is dated and was not clean. The kitchen counters, the floors, bathrooms all were not very clean. The management company didn't supply enough cleaning supplies or garbage bags for our stay, so we had to buy our own. No contact from management company during our stay to see how we were doing, if we needed anything etc. The password for access was changed on our 2nd day and we had to contact them to get the password. Biggest negative about the resort is that one of the other unit's BBQ's caught on fire recently so all the lanai's have had their BBQ's removed and now there are several centrally located BBQ's which is a bit of a hassle. We had a great time despite any of these problems, weather and location were great.

Overall a nice rental but all Audio Visual Equipment was either old and barely functional or non functional, including DVD machine. T V was difficult to get on and watch… remotes not working,

My crew who stayed here sent me a video of their washer and it was covered in dirt and mold, so they weren't able to do laundry during their stay. I'm talking really dirty, not something you could wipe off real quick. Happy to share the video if there was a way.

This property is nice and provides great access to the beach, however this condo in particular is on the far edge of the property next to the road which is loud and requires quite a walk to get to the beach. This condo is very outdated and in disrepair. The management company was quick to make repairs upon our request. I would not stay in this unit again.

Decent condo but kinda old. The curtains on the sliders looked dirty and there are things that need updates but it was in a good location. The staff was friendly and overall it was cute

Our family had a wonderful time at Wailea Ekahi, this was our 3rd visit. 25B served it's purpose, a place to make our meals and play family games in the evening. an easy walk to the "grand" hotels, pool, Pickleball, and the beach! Here are few recommendations from our family. Almost all our meals were prepared and eaten at the condo and we experienced a shortage of utensils at each meal, there were less than 6 spoons, forks, knives and recommend a few more basic sets be provided, so the whole family can eat w/out having to purchase plastic utensils. A few sharp meal prep knives would have been helpful too. Overall cleanliness was a bit disturbing, but we are avid campers so we overlooked it. The doors, door jams, and wall could use some elbow grease and the patio was not a welcome spot to hang out without washing it down with the hose, cleaning the patio furniture and sweeping. We did not do this, so we did not use the patio except to hang wet bathing suits and towels. We WILL book at Wailea Ekahi again in the future, but we will not rebook 25B without some knowledge of cleaning and updating.

Save your self some heart ache and do not rent this property, The Condo was a big disappointment, When we arrived I felt like we walked into a place that rented by the hour. The Carpet on the stairs and bedrooms is very dirty plus there was carpet in the Bathrooms, I am guessing from the 80's due to it being dark brown and very well worn, The Cookware would have been Good Will rejects, Furniture was stained and very uncomfortable, throw pillows on the furniture were also filthy, those ended up in a pile on the floor until we left, The kitchen appliances are very dated and there is no ice maker in the refrigerator, the counter tops in the kitchen are white tile and I am guessing the grout was also white at one time, I know it is customary to remove your shoes when entering a home in Hawaii , there was no way I would walk around on this property bare foot, unless changes are made to this property stay away, plus there is only AC in the second floor bedrooms. My family lives on Maui and I have rented several times at this complex due to its great location, the units I have rented in the past were always very well maintained and clean. HUGE disappointment

The location of the Wailea Ekahi condos cannot be beat. Grounds are meticulous and amenities unparalleled. The unit was tidy but could use a refresh. Kitchen was nicely appointed with every item one might need. Stove, dishwasher, fridge and microwave worked as needed. Sink faucet is stuck rigid and the water doesn’t get all that hot. The front load washing machine has a funky smell and could use a deep clean and wipe around the seal. Bathroom light fixtures have not been cleaned and when lights are flipped on accumulating dust is on full display. Showers would be improved with new shower heads. Bed rooms are spacious and closet/dresser is wonderful for unpacking for a week long stay. AC work great upstairs. The mattresses and bed frames are terrible. Great Stay with a few hiccups
Great stay! No AC hits downstairs but otherwise we loved the condo. Service staff was great when we asked for a fan. Just be warned, the resort is extremely strict. No floaties, no volleyball, no music, no laughing, no talking with the slightest of a raised voice. Not even our kids could use floaties in the pool. No spike ball even in the grass at the resort. The stay was amazing, but the complex is intense. Unsure that we will stay at this complex again as there are plenty of other places with less rules/strictness.

There are a few minor things in the unit that need improvement - grill is not working, slow internet speed, no brita water filter, inadequate bath soap, etc. There are also lots of positive features of this unit that truly outweigh the need for improvements. This place is walking distance to the beach, the beds (including the murphy bed) are comfortable, sufficient kitchen utensils, close to great restaurants and grocery stores in S. Kihei. I would love to stay in this place again.

Fantastic location for a vacation rental. The property was very comfortable, amazing availability of complex pools, beach, proximity to shops and town and restaurants. The unit itself is nearing time for an update. Appreciate the installation of fans downstairs, though the cuts through the ceiling's popcorn drywall to install the electric weren't even attempted to be hidden. A/C upstairs made sleeping much more comfortable for our visit during Maui's hot week, though adding A/C to the downstairs would also be great. A couple of general maintenance issues needed (bolts falling out of kitchen table, an ottoman fell apart during our visit, some carpet on the stairway worn through to expose the staples, etc).

Definitely lack luster
There was a warning that this property was like staying at an outdated Hawaiian cabin. The cost compared to the property was completely misaligned. This location should be much less expensive to stay given how worn down the place is. Thankfully we were not there very often because obviously it is much more beautiful to be outside vs inside.

The first thing we noticed about Ekahi 25b was the spaciousness followed by the plethora of ceiling fans. The decor brought us back to the Maui of the past. If you’re looking for granite countertops and rainfall shower heads this isn’t the place. If you want room to spread out, cleanliness, and just live it fits the bill. The landscaping in Ekahi is incredible, the new pool pavilion also leads right to one of the best beaches in the world, with a huge outdoor kitchen open to all guests. The CBIV staff excelled at customer service and were always friendly and accessible. Mahalo

I have been going to Maui since 1974 and Ekahi village for 42 years. I lived on Oahu and I know there can be bugs in the tropics, but these cockroaches were over the top! Cheap stay comparatively to area... you get what you pay for on this unit.
The unit was clean upon arrival but the walls had peeling wallpaper and were dirty and/or scuffed in numerous spots. The unit has clearly NEVER been remodeled - everything is original from 1970's and the furniture reminded us of the furniture used on the "Golden Girls" tv show. One review said it was "retro", which we agree, its clearly old school decor. The master bed was horrible, and we both experienced back problems through-out the stay due to it. Our kids said there beds were super uncomfortable as well.
There was evidence of insect issues with ant and bug traps everywhere and the couple dead cockroaches we found. We didn't have to deal with the insects, but all the old/dead ones tells us this unit has an issue.
The dishwasher is 40 years old (original) and doesn't clean the dishes well at all, so we had to really wash by hand and then run them again. The carpet throughout is completely worn out and is so filthy you want to wear your shoes inside, even the bathrooms have carpet, yuk! The unit is located right on a busy road making it every loud on the Lanai and at night trying to sleep.
It was in a great location for us as we were close to our friends staying in another unit (that was completely remodeled and so much nicer), but not exactly sure it was worth the price paid. I highly recommend against booking this unit, it falls way below the standards that you come to expect from a unit in Wailea.
A/C is a joke. First of all, there is no A/C on main level. So if you expect to use the bed downstairs, be prepared to hot all night. Upstairs the units do provide some cooling but still really hot, so crank the fans up to high and hope by 3am you are cool enough to use blankets and feel comfortable.
This unit is very far walk from the main/kids pool and the beach. There is a smaller pool closer, but not nearly as fun and its considered a "quiet pool", rendering it useless as we have a loud 9 year old. The ONLY redeeming quality of the stay was that unit has everything you need from a kitchen, laundry and multiple bathrooms point of view (compared to other VRBO/rentals we have used over the years around the U.S.).
Don't be tricked by the perfect photos, the unit is old old old. The unit feels small and crowded. The Lanai is useless. The unit is hot and the A/C is useless. The furniture and decor screams 70's and 80's.
