I’ve stayed in a lot of rental houses over the years & have had really good luck finding great places. But, I have to say, this one tops them all. First off, the house is beautiful, spotless, and meticulously maintained. It sits on a hill at the north edge of Wailea overlooking a perfectly manicured back yard, a stunning pool, and a wide expanse of ocean, islands, and sunset.It’s a very short trip down the hill to a fun & lively area of Kihei, full of casual bars & restaurants. It’s an even shorter trip to the resort area of Wailea & all of its amenities. And the beaches - well, just pick one. They’re all right there. Depending on what vibe you like, it’s within 5-10 minutes from the front door.The on-site manager is kind, responsive, and available if you need her.I highly recommend this rental & am looking forward to returning soon.

This rental is just fabulous. To start, the location is great- very close to South Maui Gardens, restaurants and many lovely beaches. The house is spacious, comfortable and super clean. The bathrooms are very nice, especially the 2 towards the back side of the house. The hot tub is perfect and the view is breathtaking. We especially loved watching the amazing sun sets from there! The real highlight for us as we have 3 kids was the pool. It, and the entire backyard area, is a haven of peace and luxury. The pictures simply don't do it justice. We swam daily, and really loved the waterfall feature (runs 9am to 4pm) , the tropical plants, the statues, and the pool equipment provided.The air conditioning works really well and the beds were comfortable. The house is fully, even more than fully, equipped with first aid, kitchen supplies, reef safe sunscreen, and ALL of the beach equipment you may need. There is a whole closet of it in the garage. The property managers are responsive and helpful. We had everything we needed and more. This property is expensive for a reason- we found it to be 100% worth it.

I was so excited to find this property when looking for places to stay on Maui and it absolutely did not disappoint. It’s well stocked with everything you may need, whether you’re hanging around the house (like I did) or looking to go to the nearby beaches.
Sweeping ocean views with spectacular sunsets are the highlight. I spent my mornings on the Lanai watching the boats and the afternoons by the pool, either cooling off in the water or in the shade on the deck.
Martha was a great host, checking in to make sure our stay was satisfactory but also providing some personal touches since I was celebrating a milestone birthday.
This is a truly fantastic property, so glad we were able to find it. It made for 5 nights in Paradise! If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Book it.

One of the most beautiful and comfortable vacation homes, Hale Alana affords spectacular views in an accessible and yet private location. Every imaginable amenity is provided in a house which easily accommodates six people. We enjoyed being close to Wailea, great golf, spectacular beaches, whale watching and snorkeling cruises, and excellent restaurants while being able to reach Maui upcountry within a short drive. Hale Alana is expertly managed by Martha and Ben, who ensured we had everything we needed for a terrific family vacation.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful property. The home was clean and tidy, the rooms and beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything needed in order to cook meals at home with the family. The garden is spectacular and allows for peaceful hang outs by the lava rock pool. We enjoyed the ocean view while relaxing in the hot tub on the lanai and watching the sunsets every night. Keawakapu beach is a 7 min drive away and the home had all the beach supplies including lots of towels and beach chairs needed for a day out. Martha was amazing and responsive and checked in with us to ensure we had everything that we needed. Highly recommend!

Our family of 6 adults stayed 7 nights at Hale Alana for a special Birthday! The home and grounds were immaculate. There was plenty of room for everyone to gather together or have some privacy. The outdoor space and views were fabulous. The pool area was lovely although the water was too cold for me! We spent time watching the whales, grilling meals and relaxing on the spacious lanai. Martha had everything we could want or need. The house has everything for going to the beach to books, games, cleaning supplies to dishes and serving pieces for having a dinner party. There was comfortable bedding, towels and toiletries. The residential neighborhood was quiet and close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. It was a perfect stay and I can’t say enough positive things about our great stay here!

Wow, this place is incredible! Immediately upon arrival we were taken aback by the beauty of the location, decor, and landscaping. The entire property is so well maintained and equipped, and extremely comfortable. All of the bedrooms were beyond our satisfaction in terms of bed comfort, bathroom amenities, and space. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the cookware and tools you'd need. The views from all parts of the house were amazing - the bedrooms and showers had incredible ocean views, and the amount of space on the lanai was so wonderful. We were able to do yoga on the lanai, eat at the table/chairs there, and enjoy the sun and hot tub all while watching whales spout and breach away. What a magical place to stay! We also enjoyed that this place offers a little more privacy and quiet as it is up the mountain tucked away from the resorts, but still close enough for a short drive to the beach or nearby restaurants. Hosts were also very responsive, kind and accommodating. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

From the moment we stepped into the house, we were thrilled at the beauty of the ocean views, the gorgeously landscaped garden with waterfall pools, and the perfectly appointed rooms, fully stocked with everything imaginable for cooking and comfort. Martha, the property manager, is responsive and knowledgeable and a great pleasure to meet. Our stay was perfect - we had everything we needed and were able to fully relax and take advantage of all the wonderful activities Maui offers. Our best vacation in Hawaii ever!

The house is in a beautiful neighborhood with colorful tropical plants and and pool adding to the overall experience on Maui. Martha had everything ready for us upon our late night arrival and checked in on us to be sure everything was in order. Thank you for making this week so special. This property is so beautiful. The photos don’t do it justice. It’s perfectly located between upscale shopping and restaurants, and cool local take out shops. The nearby beaches are great as well! Martha was helpful and made logistics easy. I highly recommend staying her.

There are several issues with the description. Needs to read at the start: Property manger is onsite and overlooks the pool, with a cutout specifically for that purpose. If you have females in your group, they will need to be prepared. You will also have to sign a waiver, which is not mentioned. There is no central A/C There are underpowered wall units throughout that will NOT cool during the day. When we asked about it, manager suggested we should go to the pool... When I expressed our displeasure, they sent someone into the house without our knowledge. All of our stuff, computers, etc. were in there, out in the open. Should never be done. The one being watched by her spouse. We were so disappointed, we left 2 days early. To their credit, they credited the 2 days, which we did not ask for or expect. The property is well situated and beautiful, but the issues and price are not worth the view. I rarely leave negative reviews... but I feel compelled to save another what we went through. Ruined our vacation. If the above does not bother you, then the views are spectacular.

The views are stunning and sunsets spectacular from the giganic sundeck,two master bedrooms, the living room and the dining room. We prepared some fantastic meals in this large kitchen with all the utensils you'd ever want and grilled steaks on the sundeck grill where we had most of our meals while watching the sunset. The children played for hours in the Hawaiian designed backyard garden pool area. We highly recommend this home for your next family visit to Maui.

Despite the fire, we enjoyed out stay at Hale Alana. The grounds and pool area place you in a tropical paradise. The property manager left on our 4th day. The temporary caretakers left early and returned late but we only needed help lighting the BBQ which we identified the tank needed replacing. We travel to Hawaii almost every year and have stayed at some of the top areas in Wailea and Makena. The view at Hale Alana rivaled all. It does show its age. Kitchen lacks necessary cooking utensils and several things need replacing due to age. The TV monitors circa 1990,which definitely need updating to smart devices. Despite the few shortcomings, we would definitely return once the island recovers from the devastation.

This property was perfect for our family. We stayed for two weeks at this lovely home located in Maui Meadows. It was very roomy and incredibly well stocked with everything you'd need. The yard and pool area are simply gorgeous and we spent many hours there swimming and sunning. The yard and pool area are fully gated so it's safe for young children. The lanai is spacious with lots of outdoor furniture and a grill as well as a hot tub. The lanai can be accessed from the two primary bedrooms, as well as the main living room. There is a large garage that is stocked with lots of beach chairs and beach equipment plus an extra fridge. There is an outdoor shower that is attached to the garage so it's convenient to shower off after a beach day. The towels and linens are plentiful, and the home has all the important large and small appliances and is stocked with dishwasher tabs, laundry detergent, paper towels, shower gel and shampoo as well as some basic condiments. The A/C worked great! Communication with the property manager was exceptional. They live nearby in a separate home, at the bottom of the property. The neighbourhood is a lovely (and hilly) residential area. We walked almost every day, but walking into the Wailea area would take about 40 minutes and walking back would be mostly uphill. The views and sunsets from the lanai are truly spectacular! The home decor is a bit dated as reflected in the property photos, but everything was very clean and in good repair. The furniture and beds were great.

Amazing as always! We have been coming every year for the last few years and absolutely love this home. The house is large, clean and very well maintained. The location is quiet, perfect and close to everything you need. Martha is responsive and supportive. The house has a beautiful large deck that overlooks the ocean and an amazing nightly sunset. Our main reason for booking this property was the pool we would be able to share with our families. The day we got there, the pool was freezing and unbearable to use. We ended up not using the pool once even though the weather was a sunny 80 degrees the whole 9 days. There was a hot tub but unfortunately the tub was leaking the whole time and we had to refill it frequently. There were ants in a few rooms in the home and a few cockroaches. We were unaware that we would be sharing the property/backyard and pool with the property manager 24/7. They also rang the doorbell almost every day during ours toddlers’ naps (waking them up a few times), even though we told them that it was their nap time and they were sleeping. Communication was not great before getting to the property. The property manager did not answer most emails. I did not receive the check in information prior to arrival. I ended up having to email (which no response) and call for the information and was told I should’ve already gotten that email awhile ago. Our due date and method of payment changed without notification. We were originally supposed to pay for the remaining balance by check and mailed to the manager. I contacted her to ask what address I needed to send the check to and was told that they won’t be taking check anymore and that they will charge the credit card on file and charge it 42 days in advance instead of the 30 days we were told upon booking. The property otherwise had beautiful views of the ocean and got to watch whales from the balcony.

WOW is the only way to describe Hale Alana. The views are amazing and the grounds are perfect. Even after the bad storms, the place was in back tip top shape quickly. We could see whales everywhere during our stay. Such a awesome sight to see breaches and blows while sitting in the hot tub. The kitchen had everything you need to cook every meal. The rooms were great with comfortable beds and linens. Martha and her husband were wonderful and on top of things. Communication was great and very responsive.
