About this cabin rental
A super nice cozy log cabin located only 6 miles from Mount Airy and the Andy Griffith Museum. It is sitting on a little farm. Miniature donkeys and pygora goats are on surrounding property. We always provide orange juice, milk, breakfast bread or muffins, with a little bag of candy from Opie's Candy Shop. We are sometimes able to provide fresh eggs when our chickens are laying well. We are pet friendly.

This charming little cabin and its location are absolutely wonderful! Randy and Kim are fantastic hosts, making the stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mount Airy. This was actually our second time here, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again!

This cabin is a piece of heaven ! Clean easy to find . Such a sweet farm with animals especially Mr. Jingles ! We had a relaxing stay enjoying the sights of Mayberry in the daytime and watching the Olympics on tv and visiting the farm animals each evening ! The hosts are great people and thanks for sharing your special place ! Hope to stay again !

The cabin was immaculate and set up perfectly for our needs. The host was timely, friendly, and met all of our needs. I loved watching the goats, donkeys, and turkeys at our windows and enjoyed sitting on the deck. The landscaping is incredible!!

Beautiful place, host was extremely nice and had all the comforts of home. We hated leaving and are going to miss Mr. Jingles our new cat friend ♥ that would hang out with us any time we were outside.

We've stayed here several times since 2007 and every time don't want to leave. Randy and Kim are the best hosts. We brought our grandchildren this time and they were great with them. They now have another rental that is a two bedroom which is adorable and next time bringing the grandchildrens parents and renting both places. Love the farm animals and the peace and quiet. The cabin is emaculate and smells so good and landscaping beautiful country. Thank you Randy and Kim

We fully enjoyed our stay at the Holly Hill Cabin! Clean and cozy. Very tastefully decorated, and very peaceful. We enjoyed watching the animals on the farm. The cabin was also very convenient to pilot mountain state park, and the Yadkin valley wineries. We definitely recommend staying there.

What an awesome time at a beautiful place! Everything at the cabin was perfect and we loved staying on the farm and seeing all the animals and talking with Randy and Kim. They were such great hosts and thought of everything. They even had us a small anniversary cake for our 30th anniversary. We love the area and we were blessed to stay here. And of course we can’t forget the one and only Mr. jingles. My wife and I now have a new best friend in that cat. We will definitely be back.

This was our second stay at this cabin. It is by far our favorite place to stay. Randy is very friendly, their farm is so clean, the animals are friendly, and Mr. Jingles is an added treat. The cabin is extremely clean. All of the appliances and dishes that we needed were there and clean. We loved sitting in the swing on the porch to drink our morning coffee. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful setting. Amazing hosts. Loved everything about our stay! Mr. Jingles was a bonus! It was a much needed get away for us, and we will definitely be back...as often as possible!

The ad says this property is pet friendly. We did not find that to be the case. The owners did not appear to like the fact that we brought to dogs. They fussed about the barking and said we should’ve given them more notice that we were bringing them. They also claimed That we were required to bring crates for the dogs, which was not a requirement in the original ad that we read. We are very dissatisfied with their intolerance for our pets.

Perfect! Absolutely beautiful property, spotlessly clean, wonderful and gracious hosts, adorable farm animals, beautiful landscaping!! Nearby Mt Airy is a great place to spend the day…Andy Griffith Museum, Gertrude Smith House, so many unique shops, great local eating establishments. Make sure to check out Kim’s unique metal art sold at Mayberry Antiques!!!! Go hiking at Hanging Rock State Park and check out the five waterfalls. Can’t wait to return! Thank you Kim and Randy for a relaxing get-away!!

We stayed here for two nights to hike and visit wineries in the area and it was great. There are two entrances to the property. One winds through a few homes/barns on the 50-acre property. The other is off of Holly Cabin Road. If you come in off of Holly Cabin Road, it feels like you are totally isolated, albeit with a wonderful view of donkeys, goats, and grouse. The cabin is very quiet and comfortable and comes with its own pet cat that stays outside and is very sweet. The only negative was the squeaky bed. We would definitely stay here again though!

Our stay was absolutely amazing. The cabin was very clean and smelled wonderful when you walked in. Everything was perfect. Mr. Jingles made our stay even better. If you are looking for a piece of heaven on earth, this is the place to stay!

This was our second stay at this delightful little slice of heaven located about 10 minutes from downtown Mount Airy, NC. We stayed in the fall of 2023, and loved it so much we wanted to bring our whole family for a return visit. We stayed in the cabin, and our daughter and her family stayed in Holly Hill Farmhouse, a beautiful, eclectic, and fun 2-BR, 2 Bath home on the same property, also owned and lovingly cared for by Kim and Randy Hicks. It is a farm with miniature donkeys, Pygmy goats, guinea hens, a few ducks, and a resident gray cat. Our three grandkids, ages 11, 7, and 4, loved the place so much. They enjoyed getting to know Ben, Napoleon, Pixie, and Maggie, as well as the goats and of course, Mr. Jingles. We actually booked the farmhouse before it was “officially” on VRBO, so we are unable to leave a official review for it, but it is the coolest little place, and the farm decor is just perfect. Our girls cried at the thought of leaving their new animal friends, and they were headed to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, if that tells you how much they loved it. We will definitely stay here again and can’t recommend either, or both houses together, highly enough! Thank you, Kim and Randy, for sharing both your precious vacation properties with the rest of us!

What a wonderful, beautiful, cozy cabin. Can't wait to stay there again. The hosts Randy & Kim were so wonderful. Treated us just like we were family. We loved Mr. Jingles the barn cat who stays at the cabin outside in his heated house. The jet tub was my favorite and such a treat to relax and get settled into the country farm surroundings.
I would recommend this cabin to all. 100+ star rating.

Owners Randy & Kim Hicks are amazing folks. The peacefulness & kindness we felt are truly beyond words & we wanted a place to feel safe. You could feel the presence of the Lord, just walking the property. To be honest, we both didn't rest well due to the mattress but, we didn't want to hurt their feelings by mentioning, due to my scoliosis & unfortunately my husband couldn't either. They were such a "blessing" to meet & I cried to say good-bye. Our intent was to visit Mayberry & see Pilot Mt. but, we it was so much more beyond that. Thank You Both for such a beautiful place to count our blessings!.

Property was beautiful, goats, donkeys and hens, just a wonderful quiet setting. My wife has always wanted to go to Mayberry so we did , Cabin is great, beautiful , hosts Kim and Randy are great hosts and people, they go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel comfortable. We would highly recommend this cabin , will probably come back again.
