About this house rental
Incredible lake memories in the making! Well appointed log cabin in a quiet cove 150' from the dock down a very gentle slope. This cove is on the quiet, west side of the lake near mile mark 6 of the main channel. This cove is considered by the "locals" as the most productive cove on the entire lake for fishing. Covered private dock with electricity and excellent year around dock fishing for crappie, catfish and bass. There is a wonderful swim platform for sunbathing and swimming. Two kayaks available for use, free of charge. The cove is quiet and kayak adventures are one of the favorite guest activities. Ask about availability for boat slip with a lift. Tying up to the dock is always an option
Convenient parking available right in front of the cabin, unpack the car with ease. Space for 4 vehicles.
Property abounds with wildlife such as turkey and deer. Nestled in this cove is a large active bald eagle’s nest. The Cabin borders hundreds of acres of federal undisturbed woods to hike and explore, 50 feet from the back deck..
This Cabin is perched on the shores of unquestionably the best fishing cove on this renowned, premier fishing lake. Huge muskies prowl the waters. Spring and fall are the best times to catch this legendary predatory fish. Crappie, black bass, walleye, white bass and catfish are also highly sought.
This home has 4 BR (two kings, one queen as well as a queen sized bunk bed) There are two twin high quality cots with comfy sleeping bags. There are also 3 full bathrooms, two kitchens and a washer/dryer. Hardwood floors throughout. A rustic gem. There is a large sturdy dining room table that seats 10. The lakeside of the house is windowed extensively for lake views. TV with DVD player and DVD library as well as streaming services on tbe Smart TV.
Perfect setting to enjoy your coffee in the morning…There is a large deck off the back of the cabin with picnic table and Adirondack chairs to relax and view the wildlife and the serenity of the lake.
A separate area with fire pit, abundant seating perfect for conversations around the fire and s’more’s! Two Weber charcoal grills awaits your steaks and burgers.
Nearby large wooden swing overlooks the cove. Plank swing hangs in the oak tree...sure to bring on a giggle.
The Cabin has all the items you need for a glamping in a beautiful lakeside setting. The kitchens are fully supplied including 2 toasters, 2 standard coffee makers, a Keurig, a crockpot, a fresh popcorn popper, new flatwear and dining sets and abundant cookware and even grilling utensils. Bring your food and clothes, beach towels and unwind! A variety of board games are in the coffee table in the living room.

Although secluded, this is just a few miles from a large convenience store with a wide selection of groceries, fishing licenses, sundries, hardware, marine supplies, fuel and bait. A boat ramp is just around the mouth of the cove, less than a mile away. Its also approximately 60 miles from Springfield, MO which has a nice airport if some guests need to fly in.

Our family found the cabin the perfect location to reconnect in a most perfect setting.

Our family really enjoyed the house. It was great for 7 adults and three kiddos. Plenty of dishes and pans for meals.
The dock was spacious with an area to layout.
The cove has a lot of stumps that you need to be careful with your boat.
Highly recommend!

The cabin is ok, there were alot of dead bugs in the house, water pressure was terrible, master suite sink would not drain. We were told our boat would fit in their dock slip, it would not. We had to tie our 19ft ranger up on the outside of the dock and when a storm came in it flooded our boat (luckily we have an auto bilge pump). The dock is in poor shape. There is only one very small tv in the whole cabin. There was a broken window in the kids room with bunk beds. Overall this place is ok, but it needs some improvements.

Had a great trip with my children & grandchildren-lots of space, peace & quiet, a great dock - enjoyed the kayacks + the large table in the dining room-2 kitchens made getting meals together for a bigger group easier…fabulous memories & we will definately be back!!

This is our 2nd year staying at the Cove with our adult 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. we love the convience of rhe dock with kyakas and we bring our own paddle boards

This property has a different layout, but it worked perfect for our family. Young and old alike enjoyed the swim dock and lake. We will definitely be checking into availability for our next get-away.

We had no trouble or confusion of any kind in process of checking in etc.
Beds were nice, clean, all was clean, however dead hard shell bugs (floors) and dead gnats were scattered around. I assumed because maybe no one had stayed recently or maybe a bug bomb had been used.
Plenty of amenities although we brought our own paper plates etc.
Really steep hill to water, but can drive to water on a road below home. We used wrong dock by mistake but we just figured the dock in front of home would be the one. Not so!
We only had 4 adults and 1 teen so it was massive for us to use.
We were about 10 mi to Lucas Oil Speedway which was very important to us.
Overall very pleased with everything!

Our family enjoyed the cabin in the cove once again! It was so peaceful and relaxing. The kiddos enjoyed fishing, playing games, and puzzles. We appreciate how comfortable it is and look forward to staying here again sometime soon.

This home is beautiful and in a perfect, quiet location! It was awesome to have plenty of room for our family Thanksgiving dinner! It was amazing to have two fully stocked kitchens and a big dining room table! We only wish this home would have been a available for Christmas as well! We would definitely love staying here again!

The home is amazing. Great view of lake. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. We have stayed before and it was just as wonderful. Plenty of room and beds. Location is also great and easy to get too. The host was so gracious to except our last minute request to rent.

The Cabin In The Cove had the perfect accommodations for our family. There was every amenity available that you could ever need for cooking, grilling, bathing and cleaning. Wifi was available and thank goodness there was no rotten egg smell from the water. Thank you for sharing your home with our family, being right on the water was relaxing and just what our family needed.

Wonderful fun family lake cabin with most everything provided where we did some cooking, grilling, eating, sleeping, relaxing, morning coffee on deck, eagle sighting, turtle watching, swimming, kayaking, tree swinging, boating, rock hunting (is the glitter gold), reading and playing games. Didn't notice the 100+ temps because air was cold and water was close and easy to dip into and the view was beautiful. Didn't fish but they sure teased us jumping nearby. Looking forward to a spring or fall stay. Great communication too and very helpful. Neighbors on shore and on docks were all friendly and helpful too.

Family Get Away from it All
We were so pleased with everything the Cabin in the Cove offered us for a great family get away. Grandpa and Grandma, our married children and 4 grandchildren had not only fun hanging out together but couldn't get enough of swimming off the dock, fishing and also just relaxing. Accomodations were perfect for everyone - just as described on the site.

Great place for family and friends to gather. Plenty of room for large group and the house is well stocked. The dock was wonderful for our boat, swimming and fishing. Fish were biting great during our stay. The kids loved the big tree swing as did all the adults. Would highly recommend this quiet cottage in the cove. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with our family.

We loved the cabin in the cove. It was very clean and is well stocked with pretty much anything you'd need. It is a great place to disconnect for a vacation. The cove is a nice offshoot of the lake, so there's hardly any boat or jet ski traffic. The owner is very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved our trip!

GREAT SPACE FOR LARGE GROUP
We had a great stay at this lakefront cabin. It was perfect for our large family gathering. This cabin is about as close as you can get to the water & has a nice view of the cove. The dock was great for our boat and swimming. Plenty of room for cooking and dining. The beds and couches were also confrontable with plenty of extra blankets. The owner was super responsive to any questions. Thanks!

We loved this property. It was so quiet and peaceful. It was off season, so we rarely saw anyone for 5 days. A little cold for fishing some days, but still caught a few. We would definitely visit again, but probably in October.

Great trip and accommodations. Caught plenty of fish for a fish fry. Internet connection was pretty bad but I guess that is the price you pay for being pretty remote. We will probably look to return around the same time next year.

Private family retreat
Our family loved the privacy of this property! Quiet location with great lake access for our boat. We enjoyed the kayaks available as well. The lake was beautiful and not too busy. Our biggest challenge was not enough comfortable seating in the family area for our family of 11. Otherwise it was a lovely place to unplug and unwind.

Great family get away!
Had a wonderful long weekend at the cabin. We took our 4 adult children and families. The cabin inside was cool and clean. Only had problem with electrical outage on Saturday but Jeff was on top of notifying appropriate company(outage all over the area). It only lasted a short time and cabin stayed pretty cool even with hot humid weather. The cabin is very shaded which helped. Glad we brought our golf cart for the treks back and forth to dock. Not too bad of a walk. We caught a lot of catfish running trot lines. Rod and reel fishing had less luck. Drive on gravel for a good distance but we are all pretty accustomed to gravel road living. As our family grows we probably won’t be able to stay there because we maxed out the sleeping areas with 9 adults and 3 kids and 1 baby. If we stay this size or have less people it would definitely be a place we would stay at again. We did family pictures behind the cabin. Great pic place! Thank you for the memories!
