Weather was very nice for walking and exploring the area. Host gave me plenty of information regarding where to eat which was easy to walk to.
Too bad the impending weather cut our trip short, hopefully everyone is safe in New Orleans

This place had a lot of character and was very cozy. Parking was simple. The place was very clean. Owner would always respond when we had a question. Only word of advice to future people staying is it isn’t toddler friendly. Apartment is on the 2nd story, and then there is another set of stairs in the unit. Both set of stairs are very steep. The one in the unit doesn’t have a railing and even I had trouble. Also the downstairs bedroom was the only room with a door in the house and the door would not shut which made us have to tip toe and whisper when our toddler was asleep. Overall we loved the place and were very happy with our stay.

The property was great. Everything we needed for a stay in the city. Excellent communication with host, Julie, who gave us great recommendations and was really helpful in extending our stay as we had a late flight.

We came to town with many family members & friends. This location was perfect & so comfortable. A great space for 2 couples. As long as stairs aren’t an issue you’ll enjoy your stay! A great local feel for NOLA. Loved the food recommendations too.

Our family loved gathering here for a friend’s wedding weekend. We were close to all the events in the French Quarter without being in the busy tourist area. We loved sitting on the balcony and walking to restaurants and shops in the area.

Our family of three (our son is a teenager) just stayed at this property while visiting NOLA since leaving in 2012. The location is close to everything - Uptown, FQ and even driving to Metairie. The property was spotless and extremely comfortable. The attention to detail was very noticeable and appreciated. The beds were comfy. The kitchen had everything we needed. The bathrooms were lovely. Yes, the stairs are steep but as long as you are comfortable navigating stairs - it's not a problem. We kept our luggage downstairs (in the living room) and brought up just what we needed to the 2nd floor bedroom, which was huge. No big deal! I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again. Bonus, Jules was extremely responsive!!!!

We were in town for a conference at the convention center, this apartment was in an ideal location, walking distance to the conference as well as to the street car stop on st.charles. the apartment was amazing, 2bedrooms with bathrooms, full kitchen. Very clean and updated. Hosts were great with information on checking in, local attractions and eateries. We had a fabulous time. Restaurant/back door bar was a great find. Neighborhood was great, felt safe, did mostly walking to and from the streetcar stop and or the convention center about a 15 min walk. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were very well decorated and very clean. Thanks for the use of the apartment, Jules

A great property in a great city. One of the drawbacks was the key situation- you needed them to secure the door shut since there was no traditional door handle. Since there was only one set, we had to make sure to coordinate logistics when we went out separately. The loft was very cute, but my husband hit his head a couple times on the low ceilings. The stairs to the loft were fairly steep with no hand railing. Mostly we just needed to be aware of our surroundings and move deliberately. The property owner, Jules, was so helpful, providing a foodie list, accommodating our arrival and departure times, and always responded quickly. It was a short walk to the WW 2 museum, which we highly recommend. Fatboy Pantry, Birdie’s, and French Truck coffee we’re all very close and super delicious. If you don’t mind stairs, a common NOLA feature, this was a great location and clean place to enjoy the city.

This townhouse is in the perfect location if you're spending time in NOLA. The owners were excellent and the property was immaculate. They helped us by providing information about the city and all the quaint shops and restaurants in the area. My wife and I were very impressed with the property. It worked great for our family. The boys had their own room and bathroom upstairs while we enjoyed the main floor. First time visitors to New Orleans, Jules made everything easy. Never knew we'd love this city as much as we did. Can't wait to visit The Big Easy again!

Place was very nice. Beds were comfortable and location was perfect. Close to the St. Patty's day parade. The Hosts were very helpful in giving places to go. And allowed us to store our luggage before actual check in time to allow us to visit Bourbon Street.
Condon was real close to the St. Charles street trolley.

We were two couples who stayed 2/15-2/22. Property was in a fantastic location...walking distance to so much! We walked over 50 miles in our 7-day stay! Communication with Jules was very timely! He offered a lot of helpful information and great recommendations. While we didn't do any cooking, the kitchen looked well stocked. The Brita water purifier was definitely appreciated and used! The only downfall was the A/C - it couldn't be set below 75 degrees. This made is quite warm in the upper bedroom, especially when using a hair dryer. Other than that, would definitely recommend!

We went to New Orleans for my daughter's volleyball tournament, and we had a blast, thanks in large part to this awesome property! We were minutes from the convention center for the volleyball games and centrally located to all the restaurants and events. We will definitely do this again!

Our stay was amazing. It was my husband's and my first trip to New Orleans with your two daughters (6 & 13) and this place made our trip perfect!! Everything about it was great! Tons of room with everything we needed to make it feel like our home away from home. Jules was an amazing host with great recommendations! The balcony had to be one of our favorite things about the apartment. My husband and I enjoyed having our coffee out on it in the mornings and a glass of wine at night. The view of the city at night was just am added bonus.
Just stay here. You won't regret it!

My sister and I rented this townhouse (originally planning on more people joining us) and it was an absolute highlight of our stay. The place is beautiful and so well-situated. Jules also provided us with extensive, excellent restaurant recommendations. So many of these great spots are within easy walking distance of the apartment, although the trolley/public transport is also easily accessible for the further spots. New Orleans is amazing, but this place absolutely brought our first visit to the city to another level.
Also, if you’re confused by the listing the way we were, the couch does pull out! Maybe I missed something in the listing, but when we initially booked I did have concerns that there were only two beds.
I am in love with this place. Highly recommend!

What a find, I can’t believe our luck.
Beautifully decorated, authentic, artistic and huge, it made us feel like local residents. Feels fully and truly New Orleans.
It’s getting extremely hard to find original historic spaces that haven’t been cut up and made into tiny rooms and this one does not disappoint. Part of an original townhouse from the 1800s, it’s two floors and furnished with taste and very comfortable. Master bedroom and bath upstairs in a very large loft room and second lovely bedroom downstairs with its own bath so it would be great privacy for couples. Original wood floors and very high ceilings. Floor to ceiling windows opened to the very large iron balcony with seating.
Original details and good antiques throughout the apartment and not stripped back like one of these “white box “ hotel rooms..Lovely.
Plenty of free street parking but also a pay parking lot across the street which we didn’t need to use. There’s an old walking park/ Coliseum Square a block away with historic mansions and we walked (or bike-Blue bike rental at the base of the park) straight up all the way through the Garden District with unbelievable homes all the way up to Commanders Palace.
From there we walked over to Magazine Street and then all the way back down to the townhouse with tons of cool shops and restaurants all the way.
Numerous places within walking distance, just two doors down there’s a cool restaurant with a large outdoor garden serving glasses of wine and charcuterie.
Great bar called Barrel Proof, fantastic local breakfast place called Surrey’s one block up.
About two blocks away is an awesome 1800s orphanage that’s been converted to a super chic hotel (Saint-Vincent) with great upscale restaurants and bars.
The host and her partner were super knowledgeable and helpful and very quick to respond and even give us an enormous list of places to eat and drink. They even asked what type of evening we wanted and suggested a few itineraries!
We couldn’t have found a more lovely space.

Just Okay
This is a run of the mill investment property that needs a little (or maybe a lot) of TLC. The pictures look great but there are some oversight issues that the owners should address. There was no communication upon arrival and I had to reach out to the owner for arrival instructions. We had to change a light bulb in the downstairs bathroom upon arrival. - luckily we found one in the closet. The light bulbs over the island were completely burnt out, the window casing in the upstairs bedroom was rotting from rain damage, casing around another window had actual tape around it and the upstairs shower needed the caulk replaced (mold growing underneath) and deep cleaned. No bath mats were provided, so you had to use a bathroom towel unless you want to chance slipping on the tile. The outside table was completely rotted. The kick plate on the refrigerator was missing. The sheets on the bed were extremely cheap esp. the sheets upstairs bed. The pilling was so thick it was itchy. The washer was quirky (and quite used), but the owner gladly said he could help get into spin cycle with a trick. It was pretty barebones in terms of necessities - quarter roll of paper-towels, couple half rolls of toilet paper, two towels in each bathroom and a couple of Costco sized shampoos.
The positives were that Magazine street is much nicer than other places downtown. You can walk to several restaurants and it feels safe. The AC worked well. There are a lot of nice VRBOs on Magazine - you might want to consider one of those instead.

Disappointment
I was so disappointed when I walked into the apartment, I just wanted to cry! It had an old musty smell and the living room/kitchen was dark and dreary. the sofa and chairs were so uncomfortable you could not sit long, and bed was not comfortable either.
The stairs to the upstairs was steep narrow and NO HAND RAIL very scary to get upstairs. . There were two wrecked cars taking up three parking spaces all week that never moved so we had to pay to park. We paid total of $1800.00 for 5 days and there was no door knob on bathroom door or closet door. The decor was just ugly and drab. It is and old building and they have done some renovations but they need to finish the renovations. I will never stay there again!

Great location , very close to trolley and bus for access to downtown
This historic unit is a great location. We spent evenings on the outdoor deck watching the neighborhood activities. We caught the trolley a couple of streets over for a garden district tour ending downtown at the start of Bourbon street. Very safe location with a fabulous restaurant just 1/2 block away. Other good eateries just beyond.
We would highly recommend to other travelers.

2022 New Orleans Jazz Festival
I stayed at 1332 Magazine, in the two BR upstairs (second and third floor) apartment for both weeks of Jazz Fest, including the hiatus period in between weekends. The apartment was comfortable, well-furnished, and well-equipped. The owner lived nearby and was responsive when I encountered problems.
The only negative concern I had about the apartment was that there was really only one means of ingress and egress. In the event of a fire that blocked the main stairway, anyone in the upstairs apartment would have a very difficult time finding an alternate emergency exit. The owner told me that one could exit in an emergency by going out onto the front balcony, climbing over the railing and stepping or jumping to the balcony next door (another railing to deal with); then forcing open the window of the house next door (also owned by the same person as the vrbo), and leaving by way of its stiaircase. Because I knew that everyone in my party was nimble enough to do that, I decided not to complain and to live with the possibility that, in an emergency, we'd have to jump or step across to the house next door. If one had small children or more infirm seniors in their party, however, the situation would be very hazardous.
The VRBO at 1332 Magazine has exterior balconies at the rear that could be easily modified to provide a much safer emergency evacuation route. I strongly suggest that the owners make those modifications. If a proper emergency exit is created AND CLEARLY MARKED, then I would enthusiastically endorse this property as a great place to stay. If the improvement is not made, then I would recommend it only to strong, agile, younger adults who could become very creative in finding a way to make an emergency exit.
I have spent 50 years of my life as a personal injury trial lawyer, and I have done a LOT of fire-related cases. Perhaps I am hypersensitive to safety issues, but I would never stay in a house that I might not be able to get out of in the event of a fire. I always identify exits, stairways, fire escapes, or whatever else I could rely on in the event of a fire blocking the main exit way. Should you consider this VRBO, discuss the emergency exit plan with the owner and ask her to SHOW you how to get out via the alternate egress route.
The neighborhood was great. I felt safe and secure there. There were very nice bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Alll-in-all, I had a great stay.
