The house needed to be cleaned. They don't even provide fitted sheets for beds or pillowcases. The refrigerator was off, and I tried reaching out to the property manager he/she would not pick up my calls and barely answered my text messages on how to find the electrical panel to try to turn the refrigerator on. The only response I got from him/her was "I will check early tomorrow morning." I sent this text early enough in the day for him/her to try to help me resolve the issue. The kitchen stove does not work properly as well. Cooking was very difficult as the heat would turn low frequently. The internet does not work at all. We had to use our cellular hotspot the whole weekend. There were too many things going wrong to be paying for the price it is. This house has a lot of potential to be a great vacation rental. I feel robbed that this house was not what it was made out to be. My family and I tried to make the most of it.

The house was perfect for our large group of adults, with enough space for everyone/every couple to have their own bedroom and bathroom. The location is very walkable to South Bethany and the parking pass was helpful for ferrying larger items to the beach. We appreciated the grill and the outdoor shower as well. Communication was clear with Don and check-in was very easy.

We loved our stay at this home. The house was as described. This should be a great rental for anyone looking for a big space for a large group. The big dinning table was great, and beds were comfortable.

Our family had a very good week at this property. We were a group of nine: 6 adults and 3 children, plus a dog. There was plenty of room for us to be together at times and to have our own spaces as well. The house is about a 7-10 minute walk from Bethany Beach, which was never crowded during our stay. We were all pleased with the D'Light House.

We love the area easy walking distance to many places. Loved hanging out on the deck its very spacious inside. We had great beach weather. The inside was not very clean more dust than what we have experienced in other vacay rentals. But we still had a great time together. Thank you.

D’Light house was in a great location for our family for what we enjoy doing, which is crabbing, clamming, fishing and close enough to walk to the beach. The kitchen was pretty well equipped with plates, glasses, mugs, pots and pans and utensils. It lacked containers for leftovers, which I guess we should have thought to bring those. Definitely does not have any spices, which was fine we purchased our own.
The rest of the house was plenty big however it was packed full of so much stuff of the owners that it made it seem small and not enough room for all of our stuff. The layout of the house is odd. If you want to go downstairs you either have to down a VERY narrow spiral staircase or go outside and down the outside steps and around to the first floor doors. The furniture is all very outdated and stained, we put sheets over the couches so we felt more comfortable sitting on them. Most of the beds were so uncomfortable most of us were woke up very sore every morning.
The dining room table is very nice though, it accommodated our whole family of 12.
It was nice having so many bedrooms and bathrooms however they were all dirty and could tell they hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while.
The house had a nice deck and dock for our boat and nice deck furniture. The only problem out there was the bushes all around the deck are very overgrown and taken over the entire area, you could barely get through the path to get to the deck.
This house has the potential be wonderful.

We had 14 people in this big house for our daughter’s wedding. We enjoyed the location, easy beach access, large parking area, the number of rooms and bathrooms and large common area, but the house was not very clean. I think the owner needs to hire a new cleaning crew. The ground floor was dusty and smelled like air freshener trying to cover up cat odor, one of the mattress covers had a blood stain on it and there was a lot of trash under the beds and had not been vacuumed. The bathrooms were not very clean either, there was hair in the sinks, a towel bar was broken on the main floor, too. The owner said that the cleaning team would be in touch with us but they never called. Also, we have stayed in lots of rentals and they always provide you with some toilet paper and paper towels to start you out, but this property expects you to get all that, so we arrived and first thing had to go out and buy toilet paper -be forewarned! And to top it off, the Owner had a long list of rules and even asked that we water his outside plants!
So, in summary, we liked the house but would not rent it again. Sorry!

The house is the perfect size for large groups, the big dinning table was great, and beds were comfortable. However it's crowded with unnecessary furniture. The main sliding door which leads to the stairs was extremely difficult to open and close. Upon arrival we found the house had not been cleaned properly - dirty kitchen countertop, dirty bathroom sink, a pancake in the pullout sofa bed!!

We had an absolutely wonderful time! Online information was accurate. Don is great to work with. He makes it very smooth to access house and communication ahead of time was appreciated. It’s a large, beautiful house. We loved our family time in the open area- cooking, playing games, chatting. It is a quick walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

The home is spacious, beautiful, on the water, and close to the beach! There are several porches to enjoy queit time and enough bathrooms to avoid arguments and lines. The outdoor shower is a great feature when coming back from the beach.
We made many wonderful memories during our week here and would definitely come back!

A quiet neighborhood away from all the hustle and bustle of beach life but only an 8 minute walk to the shore even with 7 kids, the oldest being 11. We were initially concerned about having to cross the Coastal Highway but our fears were eliminated by the very secure crossing lights and the courteous drivers.
The large dining table served our group of 14 very well and the bedrooms on 3 floors allowed us to spread out.

We loved our stay at this home. The house was as described. We had plenty of room for all our kids. We enjoyed the outdoor living area and enjoyed our dinners on the canal.

The property however was disappointing to me. This house was not cleaned as was indicated to me. The carpet in the bunk bedroom room had not been vacuumed. The bathroom in the hallway floor around toilet had not been cleaned. The stairway leading in to the house around the back were very weak and unstable. When sitting on the deck during a rain storm while we were there the gutters were so filled with debris that we could not sit on the deck without getting wet because of water pouring out of them. Even though I was advised after I had checked in of the burners not working on the stove and two bedrooms could not use their tvs because their was no comcast box available, I was not offer any kind of discount for my inconvenience. I paid what was asked for the stay I requested but did not get what I paid for. Also, one of the bedrooms on the level with the kitchen had a very small closet, doors were off the track and they were filled with a lot of stuff that we did not need. You needed a muscle man to open the sliding glass door because they were hard to open. The kitchen table was too large for the area and created a hazard for entering from the sunroom because of the long bench. Bench should be moved to the other side of the table. One of my guest banged her knee on the bench. The laundry room was also junky with a mattress and sheet left leaning against the wall. Vents in the ceiling were not cleaned also. I wouldn't rent this house again nor refer it to my family. I have pictures if you would like to see what we experienced.

Third stay at this house for family birthday celebration.
Just as expected. There has been some enhancements to bedding and porch area has been painted and is nice and bright with new curtains and lamp. Kitchen has new pans and there are plenty of dishes and silverware so you do not need to run the dishwasher constantly. Very comfortable home and enjoyable for all on the waterway. The weather was warm so the short walk to the beach was great.

We truly enjoyed our days spent together making memories and laughing. The house was big enough to fit all of us...8 adults and 6 kids. It had everything we needed to cook and just enjoy our time together.

Ladies Beach Weekend
We enjoyed our stay at the Sandpiper Pines very much. The size of the house (including bedrooms and bathrooms) worked perfect for our group.
We did have an issue with a breaker going out and contacted the owner of the home. He came out within ten minutes to help rectify the situation.
Only complaint we had was that the house was not properly cleaned. All of the showers and tubs had human hair in and around them, carpets and floors were not completely swept and/or vacuumed, and the kitchen should have been cleaner (counters sloppily wiped and items left on them). We've rented through Vrbo in the past and the houses were much cleaner.

Don worked with us to find a time slot for our family vacation. We needed lots of bed and bathrooms and this fit the bill. Great location a short walk to the beach. Lovely deck overlooks the canal.

Loved being on the canal and near the beach, lots of room and outdoor decks but house was dirty, cluttered, and very outdated. First floor smelled like mildew.

Nice arrangement in the main area with plenty of space that includes the kitchen, dining and living room. The deck on the canal was especially good for us with our kayak and paddle board to go explore the nearby bay. Dr. Don was responsive and helpful. We had a lovely week.

Nice Owner, Outdated, Reasonable Price
The kitchen was functional and nice. The outside area for hanging out was spacious and very comfortable. There was enough parking for five cars. The internet worked great, but needed to be rebooted by simply unplugging the modem and plugging it back it. The people and the neighborhood was friendly and beautiful. When we arrived, the rental was a mess. There is only one cleaning person for the entire house which seems very difficult to clean it adequately for the following renters. The house needs (especially the bedrooms and bathrooms) to be completely gutted/redone. E. G. New mattresses, paint, bathroom fixtures, toilets and showers. Overall, the house is outdated, but I wished it was an outdated cleaner house more than it was.

The house had a perfect amount of space for our family vacation. We really enjoyed the decks. It also wasn’t a long walk to the beach.

Great get away
The neighborhood was quiet, the house was lovely and we relaxed on the deck enjoying the water. The trip to the beach is definitely walkable, but with a baby it helped that the house comes with two residential parking passes so we just pulled right up to the beach and skipped the walk. Since we had our two dogs with us we grilled both nights at the house and it was so much better than trying to go to a restaurant. It was a great experience for our family and the baby’s first beach trip. I thank Mr. Dillon for having us and hope to be back again.

Hidden gem in south Bethany!
My group stayed at the d’light house for Memorial Day weekend. We were pleasantly surprised at how comfortably the 14 of us fit. The pictures in the listing do not do the property justice- the house is very cozy and the different decks are so great! The house is also less than a 10 min walk from the beach. So convenient and such a great weekend!

We had a lovely stay- 5 bathrooms is a huge plus with so many people in the house. Also great wifi and multiple TVs kept everyone occupied when we had too much togetherness. This is a convenient location, lovely view of the canal and can see both sunrise and sunset from various porches.

D’Lighthouse Delightful
This house had lots of bedrooms and easily held 10 adults with beds that fit the adults. Dogs were allowed in the house and were comfortable. We never felt like we were on top of one another and we were able to isolate with each other during covid.

Great Family vacation at the D'Light House
House was great, lots of room for the 13 of us, 6 adults and 7 kids, 4 - 15+, 1 - 12, 1 - 6, & 1 - 5. Short walk to the beach, we were able to setup in the morning, and leave everything and come back for lunch. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Don, property manager, was fantastic.

An expansive house in which a large group felt very comfortable. Owner was great to work with and very accommodating and flexible. The location was perfect. Walked to the beach every day, and it was nice to have the water in the back off the deck.
