Welcome to Once Upon A Tide, a beach house with a private pool that’s been totally remodeled from top to bottom, front to back. Here, you actually get two separate properties in one, with loads of outside space to enjoy, stunning views of the Gulf, and just a short walk to the beach--less than 450 feet away!
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS (SLEEPS 20)
• MOTHER-IN-LAW SUITE
The ground floor is a mother-in-law suite that’s not connected to the rest of the house. This means this can be a great choice for a big group who wants to be together but also needs some separate private space for up to 6 people.
The suite features a living room with its own smart TV, plus a gloriously comfortable sofa that converts into a queen sleeper. There’s a kitchen too, so you can cook meals and tuck away snacks whenever you want to. The suite features two bedrooms. The master has a king-sized bed, while the second bedroom has a full over full bunk bed (limit of 100 lbs).
• SECOND & THIRD FLOORS
Accessed by a set of stairs to either side of the house, here is another totally self-contained apartment with an open-concept living room, dining area, and kitchen that’s a great space in which everyone can gather.
There are a trio of sofas in the living area (1 of which is a sleeper sofas), all offering up great views of the smart TV. Nearby is the dining table, an ideal space for meals (of course) but also card and board games and even work if someone has the assignment to complete during your stay.
There are 3 bedrooms, the master having a king-sized bed plus an ensuite bathroom. There are two guest rooms too with 3 beds between them. What better way to start a new day than opening your bedroom doors and letting the fresh air of the morning in?
This section of the house connects to what’s sure to be a popular feature with everyone - a crow’s nest room up on the third floor. As crow’s nests go, it’s a very large one, with spectacular views of the Gulf that photos don’t really do justice. It’s great fun sleeping up here too on the twin day bed or the trundle that’s underneath.
• OUTSIDE
Huge porches at the front and back of the house, and plenty of deck space give you room to relax in the shade and enjoy the views. You’ll also find a ping pong table, so why not arrange a tournament during your stay and see who’s the table tennis champion? The balcony has yet more seating, this time out in the open, so ideal for sun worshippers.
What’s sure to be the most popular feature outside the house is the private swimming pool which can be heated upon request. Enjoy a dip first thing, or a relaxing cool down as the day heats up. There are plenty of recliners around the pool on which you can dry off and maybe finish that book you picked up at the airport.
**Pool heat is an additional charge per stay. Please note that the pool heat will only get 5-10 degrees warmer than the outside temp and that if the outside temp drops below 50 degrees the heater will shut itself off as a safety feature. It will turn itself back on once the outside temp is at least 55 degrees consistently. Please contact the office for pricing.

Big groups are going to need plenty of parking space. And you get no less than 5 spaces here, all close to the house so you won’t have far to carry your bags when you get here.

Great location, short walk to beach and Seaside. We had plenty of room for everyone and the pool was nice. The house needs updating, and needs cleaning. The furniture was extremely uncomfortable and just looked dirty! Actually everything was dirty! Dishes, kitchen table, and pots and pans. The outside of the house needs lots of woke as well!! With a little TLC and a new cleaning crew, this could be a 5 star place! Needs a new coffee pot. Very hot upstairs during the day, mostly kitchen and living area. Downstairs stayed cool! Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We spoke to the property manager during our stay and he was very kind and helpful!

It was clean and comfortable. The beach only a short walk away and my grandchildren loved it. Then they had the pool to swim in after the beach. I had to make a maintenance call and they showed up quickly to take care of it. As a matter of fact my 5 year old granddaughter cried and did not want to leave. That’s how much fun she had with her cousins.

I really loved the location of this house. It was within close proximity to everything! Beach is steps away, restaurants and shops were within walking distance!! Other things I enjoyed was the pool, the fact that we had 2 kitchens, the way it was tucked so you had some privacy. The furnishings were a little tired looking but I honestly don’t mind it cause I wasn’t too scared to use anything. The only knock on this place is not having interior stairs between the first and second floor and that the stairs to the third floor was kind of scary. lol but even then we didn’t mind it.

Beautiful home. Great for families. The location was perfect. We were out of the super busy area but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. The beach was gorgeous. I am a review reader and depend heavily on them to determine the best place for our family, so this review is going to cover the good and the not so good (in our opinion). Let me start with the positives of this house. It is fairly spacious and close to the beach. The pool was big enough for our crew of 11. It was close enough to bike to shopping locations and food options. Some of the bigger negatives for us- we had a mouse issue in the main area. Maintenance was called and were there within the hour, so that was good. They put out the bait and we found 3 dead mice outside by the steps over the next few days. We also had two HUGE cockroaches show up in the lower level. I do realize that doors are opened all day long and you can’t keep all bugs out all the time, but I do think the a pest control company needs to do a thorough search of the house, sealing up any place a mouse could get in. The bed situation wasn’t ideal either. In the ground level, there was a king bed and a set of full size bunk beds. Main level had a king and queen, one set of full size bunk beds and two sofa sleepers (you would have to move one of the sofas to a whole other part of the room each night to be able to open it). The third floor had a full size bed with a trundle. The top level of each bunk bed has a weight limit of 100 lbs so only small kids could sleep up there. I’m not sure how you fit 22 people in this house unless you have a bunch of little kids with you and they sleep

Everything was just as described, clean and comfortable. We did ask maintenance to come out and check a tv or two. Their guy was very knowledgeable and prompt. Only complaint would be that TV in the bunk room downstairs was only good for streaming and the wifi wasn't strong enough the majority of the time to run a movie. That tv with grandkids (who were used to watching TV as they went to sleep!) should have had tv shows, cable, dish, whatever, available but did not.Other than that, very satisfied and happy with our home for the week. When you go to the beach, there is nothing better than being ON the beach. This place is as close as it gets. Public beach access is a 2-3 minute walk. Location is great! Pool area is definitely the highlight of the house!

The house was is need of multiple repairs, broken beds, floors were dirty. Contacted maintenance on Sunday (I realize it was the weekend, but he said he’d be back Monday -never showed). The location is close to the beach, but at least an hour drive in either direction for restaurants or things to do. We won’t be booking this property again.

Work outside needs to be done to clean up the property. Inside also needs some work. Mild on ceiling of bathroom on second floor, toilet paper holder falls off and is a terrible location, towel rack in the same bathroom is falling off the wall, shower head is partially broken and should be replaced, door handles on laundry room keep falling off, utensil drawer in kitchen is hard to open, the TVs in 2 of the rooms do not work to get stations and can only be used for gaming systems, there were paper products left under couch in living room from previous renters, floor throughout house needs to be scrubbed (your feet are filthy if you walk in the house without shoes or flip flops on), stove is not level on the kitchen floor. It looks like some rooms were remodeled and others were not. The outside walls need repair (holes in the siding) and to be cleaned.

Not enough space here to list all issues ... so just a few examples: signs of water damage on most ceilings, house smelled like air had not circulated in weeks (had to buy candles to get through first night), several lights out, dead batteries in smoke detectors, no batteries in remote controls. A lot of this could be easily addressed, but the property management company doesn't seem to be very engaged. Contacted them and they did respond, but never showed up ... said they would check with the maintenance team ... still have not heard back. We've stayed in other properties with similar price points which are far superior. It's a shame since this could be a really great house.

Great Beach House, Better Location
Pros: The location is the best part of this house. You are a very short walk from the beach and the location feels secluded from the other houses. The backyard is great. Plenty of parking.
Cons: The ground floor hot water would run out. Very few supplies left for us like paper towels, toilet paper, and laundry detergent.

This house is in an AMAZING location. The pool is wonderful, the beds are comfortable and it has good spaces. However, when we checked in the house was dirty. There was tons of sand on the floors in the house, hair on the shower walls from previous tenants, and there was trash on the countertop when we arrived. The deck is in the process of being renovated and we found 100+ nails and screws (some old and rusty) lying around on the decks. Some of the deck railings are loose and borderline unsafe. The steps to the third floor are also very steep and unsafe. We didn’t feel comfortable having any of our guests stay on the 3rd floor since there is no bathroom up there and we were afraid someone might fall if they tried to go down the steps in the middle of the night. We also discovered that several outlets in the kitchen and the AC unit on the third floor were not functional when we arrived. We contacted the property manager who sent maintenance to address that issue. The maintenance man was very friendly and accommodating and was able to remedy most of the issues. The property management company offered to send out housekeeping but we had already purchased cleaning supplies and cleaned the house ourselves so we declined cleaning services after arrival. Overall, this is a great house in an incredible location. Just a few blocks to the beach and a quick walk into Seaside. It was a great spot for us to hang out and celebrate our bride to be for a long weekend. This is a great house if you want to book something in a great location and you’re not looking for the nicest place that’s available.
