About this cottage rental
Since originally building our rental cottage, we have constructed a garage and owner living space behind the original cottage as a duplex. We live in the space behind the cottage and rent the original cottage space. The owner-living space is separated from the rental cottage by exterior doors on all three floors for complete privacy. Our guests have full access to the outdoor covered porch area of the original cottage. The owners have separate outside space in the back of the home. The owner's living space has a separate driveway and entryway.
Our rental space is a modern 3-story cottage with a full basement. There is a bedroom with a queen-size bed and attached bathroom on the first floor. The 1st floor bathroom has a tiled shower and two sinks. There are two bedrooms on the second floor, each with queen-size beds. One of the second-floor bedrooms connects to a bathroom which is also accessible from the hallway. The 2nd floor bathroom has a soaking tub with shower. The second floor has an open loft area which contains a queen size sofa bed, sitting area, and work desk. The third floor has an open loft area with two built-in sleeping bunks. The sleeping bunks each have queen-size beds and privacy curtains. The 3rd floor bathroom has a shower stall.
The living room has a large screen HD TV, Blu-ray disc player, and a sound system. The master bedroom also has a TV. The home has Dish Network Satellite TV and Wi-Fi Internet service.
There is a full kitchen with all appliances, food/spice staples, a drip coffee maker, and a Keurig machine. We have a wrap-around covered porch with lounge chairs and a table. We also have a flat yard on the side and front of the home. In the basement, we have a washer and dryer, and ironing board with iron.
We can also provide Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging on site. We have an 11.5 kW "destination" charger for 4-6 hour full charging. Compatible with Tesla vehicles and vehicles with J-1772 charge ports. Please inquire about EV charging needs with the property owner before arrival.

The house was very well stocked, everything was labeled, and it was nice and close to Lake Leelanau. As nice as the inside of the house is the outside spaces were our favorite with a great porch with eating area, fire pit with chairs, and a nice lawn for games. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Great set up of house and property. If you bring your bikes Fishtown is a short ride away. Having bedrooms on each floor gave us time together and apart.

Fun weekend in Leland
We had a great time visiting Leland and our stay was great. We had only 4 in our group but there was at least enough room to accommodate twice that. The place was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, comfortable beds and pillows, and a great location. We were able to walk into the town of Leland. Loved everything about the place!

Lovely home, great location.
This house on 4th street in Leland, MI was close to Lake Leelanau and Lake Michigan. The house was very clean and well equipped. We were able to walk to almost everyplace we wanted to go in town, which was very convenient. The property owner was always quick to respond when we reached out to him. Great house, great location.

Perfect
The house was the perfect size for our family reunion of 10! Exceptionally clean and the perfect location to walk to town and the lake. Everything was thought of in this house- emergency supplies, extra bedding, all the kitchen supplies you could need, info about things to do in the area and a great book explaining all you would ever need to know about the house. To top it off, the owner is really nice and is easy to communicate with. A gem of a rental for sure!

This spot was perfect for some great family time. It is a beautiful home with an owner who has thought of everything to make your stay easy and comfortable. The location is perfect. We were able to take a short walk with a couple of kids to Leland and Fishtown with ease. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Gorgeous House, Great Location
This was a perfect retreat in Leeland, MI. The house was beautifully cared for, Michael provided easy and effective communication, and there was more than enough space for our group. We loved that the lake was right down the road and Fishtown was also a short walk away.

The most peaceful place that I have ever lived.
The only word that comes to mind to describe this home is 'perfection'. I stayed here for about a month and a half and really got the full experience. Everything about the home is just so comfortable, warm, and beautiful. From the woods that were used throughout, to the beds, to the light that comes through the many windows and skylights. It truly feels like home.
Now what could be better than a perfect home? Well, a perfect host. And Mike was exactly that. Always so helpful, patient, and always willing to make sure I was as comfortable as possible.
I couldn't write a review and leave out Jane (the next door neighbor and Mike's mother). She welcomed me like one of her own sons. What a wonderful woman! So thoughtful, sweet, and very wise. She was also the most perfect neighbor one could ever want.
I will conclude with this, some places carry on with you long after you've left and this is one of them. Feelings of joy, happiness, and love. Ones that you too will experience as soon as you walk through that front door.

Pristine! Love the TC area and Leland in winter is the best...nobody! The house is immaculate!
We loved the property and the area. Mike's house is a gem and the area is quaint and peaceful. Hiking Sleeping Bear Dunes in Dec is an experience everyone needs to enjoy. Had a great time and will be back!

The owner’s personal involvement during our rental experience was heart warming. He was so personable and helpful with all my questions and concerns. Our group of girls had a wonderful time and all our needs were met. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone. The beach is only a short walk away and very enjoyable. Adequate sleeping quarters, functional well supplied kitchen, relaxing fire pit, washing machine on sight. It has it all. Thanks for a wonderful get away.

Michael is a Great host, answers questions quickly. His home is well organized clean and relaxing. The town is great with a lot to do in the area. I had my whole family there for three days went over to sleeping bear dunes, rode bike, played at the beach and ate in the town. I can highly recommend his home and hope to visit again. Great cottage
We had a wonderful stay. Due to weather our arrival date kept changing but the owners were very accommodating and worked with us. This cottage is centrally located in Leland. The home is well furnished and evident so much thought to every detail to make our stay enjoyable.
