About this cabin rental

Deerwood Station Guest Cabin is a beautiful family owned cabin located on the Deerwood Ranch. The cabin sits on the banks of the Middle Fork of the Little Laramie River. Our guests can just relax on the deck and enjoy the scenery or they can hike and fish on the property or cross country ski in the winter. The ranch is a Wild Horse Eco-Sanctuary so wild horse viewing is available. Wild Horse tours take place mid May-September. The tours take place Tuesday-Saturday. The tours typically last about 2 hours. They fill up fast so buy tickets on SimpleTix.com as soon as possible. Ticketing venue is set up in April. You can purchase tickets at that time. The cabin sleeps up to seven people. Please add the correct number of guests to the reservation. Two people are charged differently than a family of five. We appreciate honesty! We do have a strict no-refund policy. A date change request can be sent 30 days prior to check-in. The date change must be requested within the same calendar year as the original booking. Our family stayed at the ranch over our Spring Break for a few days. During this time we experienced a winter storm and got snowed in for a day. Our cabin was super clean, warm and had plenty of games and television for our entertainment. Our views were breathtaking and the horses were majestic in their natural environment! The owners were so kind and communicated road conditions and even plowed us out the next day so our boys could go skiing at Snowy Range. Thank you so much for sharing your slice of heaven!

This cabin was perfect for our family of five (3 kids ranging in age from 3-10 years old). The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed. It was nicely decorated, and was warm and welcoming. The check-in and check-out process was very easy, and the host was excellent to work with and was prompt with communication. The cabin is secluded, but on the property of a larger ranch. Our kids enjoyed seeing the wild horses on the property, and we even spotted 3 moose one afternoon. The views from the cabin are very pretty. Whenever we are in the area, we will definitely look into staying at Deerwood Station again!

This beautiful little cabin sits in the middle of a wild horse sanctuary! Words cannot describe the beauty of this property! The cabin is so cozy, beautifully decorated and stocked with all the amenities you could possibly need. The wild horses are amazing! We sat and watched them every chance we got. I can’t say enough about Deerwood Station, we will definitely return to visit soon. Be sure to visit Medicine Bow and Centennial as well.

There’s a reason we try to come back to Deerwood as often as we can. The cabin itself is perfect, always clean and curated like a true western cabin. Jana has made sure you have everything you could need available to you. The property is breathtaking and the family is so hospitable with their ranch. We saw a bear about a mile or so from the cabin on our way in, and a momma Moose and her calf while sitting on the back porch of the cabin. It’s truly a special place worth the visit. We cannot wait to return next year.

While the pictures of the cabin are nice seeing it in person exceeded our expectations. Its a beautiful place, very homey and inviting. It has just about everything you need with the exception of your food. The cabin was very clean, comfortable beds, plenty linens, and everything worked perfectly. Sitting in the back in the evenings and the mornings listening to the stream, surrounded by the mountains and looking at the horses and cows was a highlight. Jana & Rich are so welcoming, and very kind. The tour of the ranch was also a highlight. So much to see. Being surrounded by 300+ horses was magical. Wish we would have booked a longer stay. We were there for a wedding which was on property at the barn. Lovely place for a wedding!! We got very lucky to have found this gem of a place! We can’t wait to go back next year not once but two different times. Thank you!!!

The cabin was perfect for the two of us--everything we needed--including bbq. Saw deer, elk, moose, beaver and some very friendly puppies on the property. Took the wild horse tour the last day--wish we would have done it earlier! Very close to the snowys and scattered lakes in the area.The creek was great to sit by and we had an unbelievable seat for the meteor shower.

The property is better than the pics. Not just well appointed, but very thoughtful in what is provided. You might feel like you're in your family's guest cabin. We got visits from some curious cows, and ranch dogs. The kids really got a kick out of it. We took the tour of the ranch, which was as delightful as educational. Rich was a fabulous tour guide and host.

This is our second time celebrating a wedding anniversary. First was 35th and this time 40th! The cabin was as nice as we remembered it. One day a moose cow came trotting by with her calf (we stayed inside so not to disturb them). The river and all the birds near by helped us relax and at night the river lulled us to sleep. It was perfect. Jana and Rich are very friendly and helpful. And last but not least the property is gorgeous and fun to hike. Lots to explore. Looking forward to another trip.

What a wonderful place to stay. The property is breathtaking! We saw all sorts of wildlife including moose! The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable. The river runs along the back of the cabin and was wonderful to sit by. The horse tour is a must! The property manager was easy to get ahold of and the check in process went smoothly.

Unique location approximately 30 minutes outside Laramie, WY near the Snowy Range Mountains. Deerwood Station is a very comfortable two-bedroom cabin with a spacious back porch overlooking an extremely active creek and the nearby mountains. The hosts provide everything you need for a great getaway experience or an event-based family gathering.

This property is fantastic! It is so calming and peaceful. We loved sitting on the back porch and just listening to the river flow by. We loved seeing all the wild horses as we came and went. The property is very well outfitted and left us wanting for nothing. Our youngest already declared that she wants to return for her birthday.

We had an amazing time at Deerwood Station and hope to return in the future. Our daughter loves horses so having a wild herd on the property was one of the main reasons we booked this cabin. We were navigating to the cabin late at night, which was challenging to find within the property. I would recommend a lighted sign or lights on the fence be incorporated since the cabin is difficult to see until you know its location. The property was very clean and cozy. The property owner responded to our messages in a timely manner. Highly recommend this location. Highly suggest navigating to the cabin during the daylight for the first time versus in the dark.

We went to the area to Ski at Snowy Range. Staying at the Deerwood was as much of an experience as skiing for our kids. The loved the horses and the cabin atmosphere. It took about 20-30 min to get to the Ski area. It was the perfect setup to prepare our own meals and enjoy a movie after day of skiing. The access was fine with a 4WD vehicle but we also came in the middle of a winter storm with insane winds! Jana was a great host, quick to respond and make sure we were taken care of. We would highly recommend this property!

This adorable guest cabin is right out of a movie. Perfectly appointed for a cowboy retreat nestled in the middle of an actual horse sanctuary! We saw the herd every time we drove the two mile driveway…and they roam pretty freely on the property. At one point I had a lovely encounter at the bridge as a handsome pair eyeballed me to see who was crossing first. Graciously they retreated and allowed my passage. The cabin itself had everything we needed to stay comfy and entertained during a two day blizzard including dish tv so we were able to catch the playoffs. Quite a pleasant surprise for an otherwise off grid stay!

This is the most beautiful, relaxing place I’ve been very lucky to have experienced. From the moment you take that drive in, just amazing. The horses, Mountains, 3 legged friendly rock fetching dog., every piece of this property was such a great memorable time. Wonderful and roomy cabin with an amazing back porch. In fact, step 12 steps off the porch and you're at a beaver dam. And, of course, the wild horses, which just happened to be in the pasture across the driveway from us. And the family horses, milk cows and calves, and pony in the pasture next to the cabin. Super quiet, you won't believe the stars, and and total relaxation. Would absolutely return in a flash - and we will!

You can’t fathom how beautiful this place is from photos, it’s just not possible to capture it. The Snowy Range, Centennial Ridge, Medicine Bow National Forrest. All splendid just like the ranch, the cabin, and the owners. You have to meet Chunky Monkey and her gang, they like to drop in along with one of the ranch pups. Caught a very nice brown trout literally 50’ from the back porch and grilled it up on the supplied gas grill. The Wilson family is top notch, super friendly and accommodating. What a wonderful stay we had at the Deerwood Ranch. The cabin was so nicely furnished, comfortable, and spacious. It was great to sit out on the back porch and enjoy the quietness and surrounding landscape. We took the wild horse tour and love it. Don’t miss it. Rich was very friendly and made sure we got to see many beautiful wild horses in a natural habitat and understand the sanctuary program. Our stay at the ranch was a highlight of our trip through the West. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! Everything was exactly as described. The cabin is a true getaway with beautiful mountain views. We saw deer right by the cabin both nights we stayed. Quiet, serene and relaxing. Couldn't ask for more. You don't have to be a horse lover to stay here, but please take the Wild Horse Tour. You won't be disappointed. Rich and Jana are the best. The horses have the best life possible and people who love them. Great rustic/modern cabin and everything you need for your stay.

This cabin is a gorgeous place to relax and unwind. The location is perfect at the base of the mountains right on a babbling brook. The owners are wonderful to work with, and the cabin has everything you need. We will definitely be back again for a third stay.

This was our third stay at Deerwood station. The cabin is cozy and we enjoy relaxing by the river, playing in the surrounding yard area and visits by the friendly ranch dogs. This year we took the wild horse tour, booked separately, and enjoyed learning more about the herd. Jana and Rich are also wonderful hosts.
