About this cabin rental
We completed our cabin in Spring 2012 and want to make it available for others to enjoy! You can see by the pictures that we spent a great deal of time and effort making our cabin unique, inviting, and enjoyable for all seasons.
The cabin has 3 private bedrooms, all with comfortable queen mattresses, as well as a loft serving as the 4th bedroom in which there are 3 comfortable twin mattresses built into knee walls (we also have several spare twins available at the cabin as well). All bedrooms have light blocking shades as well. There are 2 bathrooms, one with a tub/shower and one with a built in walk-in shower.
The walkout basement has one of the bedrooms, a living area with 60' flat screen TV (with an xbox 360 and many games) and a huge comfortable leather sectional, and an eating area. Just outside the door is a 7 person hot tub (covered), as well as an outdoor sitting area. Completing this area is one of the bathrooms, a mechanical room with washer/dryer, and a one car garage (a rarity in the area and particularly useful during the Sturgis Rally; please be aware we do store vehicles in this with the exception of the rally - if its use is needed please make arrangements with us prior to your stay (it is not available in the winter)).
The main level has 2 additional bedrooms, another bathroom, and a large open living area combining the kitchen, dining, and living rooms. There is another 42' flat screen TV above the large fireplace. Just off this level is a large deck, with natural gas grill, natural gas firepit with surrounding table, and a hanging ski lift chair (from the old Terry Peak red chair lift). An entry / mud room just off of the front entry completes this level and provides storage for boots / coats / etc.
The loft area, as described above, has 3 additional twin beds built into the knee walls, perfect for the kids or single adults, and a foosball table for entertainment.
Our cabin has all the amenities you would expect at home - ample indoor/outdoor seating, comfortable beds, very nice linens, W/D, large screen TVs (WIFI present, need to sign in to your streaming services), a gaming console, well-equipped kitchen, on demand hot water (no running out of hot water for showers with larger groups), multiple eating areas, fire pit, outdoor grill, outdoor seating, ample parking, available garage.
If you are looking at cabins in this area on VRBO, I'm sure you are already well aware of the multiple recreational opportunities available in the area. Our cabin is ~ 1/4 mile from the main lodge, allowing very easy access to skiing/snowboarding, 8 miles to the gambling in Deadwood, 17 miles to Spearfish / Sturgis, and less than 10 miles to Cheyenne Crossing, the start of Spearfish Canyon.
*We require those groups staying at the cabin to be accompanied by at least one renter over the age of 30.

We came out the week before Sturgis to ride throughout the black hills and see the countryside. This property was perfect, it has everything we were looking for! Close to Lead and Deadwood and in the hills for riding. Hot tub and AC after a long day was amazing. Highly recommend this property!

Nice place, lots of room, great location. Did have to clean the BBQ before using as I didn’t want the grease to catch fire, hadn’t been cleaned for a while, also dirty bbq utensils left on bbq. Other than that, all good

Cabin is beautiful and did have everything you needed and plenty of space for a big family. Did have difficulty finding cabin on the first day as map quest took us somewhere completely different when we put address in but contacted owner and they responded immediately and assited!

Justin and his wife were awesome to deal with. Everything was just as advertised. Perfect place to stage out of to go out on the sxs’s. Beautiful house and location. Definitely recommend. I needed a part and Justin let me ship it to his house in Spearfish and set it out in the step for me to pick up on our way down. 👍👍 definitely will be coming back.

Location is great for ease to Terry Peak. Rooms were just as photos showed. Love the open floor plan and front deck with ski lift swing was great spot during the warmer hours of the afternoon. Beds were adequate. Would give them a 6 or 7 out of 10 for comfort. Would be great location even during the summer months. Hot tub is older but was hot and ready to go when we arrived. Overall a nice long weekend with family.

Very well maintained cabin in beautiful setting. Cabin was clean with fully stocked kitchen and plenty of space to relax. Great to relax in the hot tub at night. Within half hour drive to lead, deadwood, sturgis, and spearfish; little over an hour away from Mt Rushmore and Custer state park. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

Our family enjoyed our stay here over Memorial Day weekend. We especially enjoyed the fire pit on the beautiful balcony as well as the hot tub. We even spent evenings having a friendly foosball tournament!

We had two families for skiing at Terry Peak. The house is about a minute from the ski building (driving). Perfect location for skiing!
The house was clean and ready for us when we arrive earlier than expected. It was well decorated, very comfortable, spacious. The fireplace let out good heat (one day we were there was super snowy and cold). Kitchen had the appliances/tools we needed for breakfast and snacks (ate out the other meals). Large table fit our entire group. Loft area was great for kids. Comfortable beds and decent linens.
Instructions provided for the house and check out were very clear which was nice. The area is beautiful!
We would all happily stay again! Plenty of space for a group of eight!

Cozy, Summer, Ski Cabin
We had an amazing time. The cabin was very spacious and clean. We had plenty of towels and kitchen supplies.
The hot tub was nice to have after a full day of sightseeing.
We had a problem with the air conditioning. Kristen the owner was very easy to get ahold of and had someone come out and fix it right away.
We loved our trip to South Dakota. The cabin was a short drive to all of the main attractions. The Blue Belle Chuckwagon dinner was a favorite.

Family Getaway
This house worked great for our party of seven. Plenty of space to spread out and unwind in after a day of activities and seeing the beautiful sights in the area. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, the showers were very nice and we made good use of the deck and hot tub. Really enjoyed the scenic drive up and down the mountain too. About the only improvement I might suggest would be better cookware, specifically the frying pans... but we worked with them and it's obviously a non-factor for those who don't make their own meals. Finally, I have to say that Justin was great to work with... I only had a couple of questions between making the reservation and the time of our stay, but he was very quick to respond and very pleasant to deal with. Thank you and your family so much - we'd definitely stay here again.

A great home away from home!
We were very pleased with the property! Great place for a larger family to stay. There are 11 of us and there was plenty room! Home was clean and cozy! The hot tub was a fabulous place to relax in after a long day of hiking and exploring! Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The host was very courteous and timely as well. Our family had a great time!

The setting feels vert private and secluded. Plenty to do if you have done down time. We enjoyed the amenities for ourselves and the kids. We really liked having room to gather and to do our own thing as well! The home so is simple to check out of. Great stress free rental!
