About this house rental
Welcome to discovering 'The Best Caribbean Vacation Destination' for American and Canadian families. Our beachfront estate design is perfect for a family of eight (8) or an extended family of up to twenty six (26). However, in any case, you'll have the entire 5 acre compound just for you and your family, since we do not rent any other room to another family not coming with you. Since the beginning of Covid - 19, we’ve expanded our cleaning processes to include a sanitizing procedure that disinfects surface areas that we all touch in the house. The disinfectant used is highly effective against many communicable diseases, including coronaviruses and immediately safe for human contact. Following the fogging procedure (Swingfog SN 50) our cleaning staff thoroughly clean all rooms & living areas' surfaces including chairs, tables, counters, bar, kitchen, bathrooms and toilets.
This tropical beachfront estate is majestically nestled in the paradisiacal bay of Omoa, between the Caribbean Sea and the awesome ever green Merendon mountains. Wake up in the morning with the sounds of nature all around the villa, tropical birds, howling monkeys and other exotic animals. Then, have a good cup of fresh Honduran coffee, while enjoying the rainforest within this Caribbean beachfront paradise located at the heart of the Cuyamel National Park. During the year 2012, the National Geographic Traveler editors included Roatan, Honduras - 'A divers' dream paradise' in the list of the world's Ten top places to visit. The estate is located just an hour's boat ride from this coral barrier reef; but away from Roatan's over crowded tourists places. Our hidden mainland spot is the ideal spot for discovering Honduras' best kept secrets !
This eco-estate has spectacular views of the wide, truly unspoiled sandy beaches stretching as far as the eyes can see, up to an unexplored mangrove ecosystem; with no houses, no people and no hotels, but very safe. Untouched pristine beaches, whose only inhabitants are coconut palms, exotic plants, fruit trees, shore birds, iguanas, geckos, turtles and crabs surround this secluded property; yet, near city conveniences (e.g. restaurants, bars, grocery store, bank, police station, hospital, pharmacy, church, park, etc, are located within driving distances.
"Thank you, for making our 50th Anniversary celebration with our 3 daughters, 3 sons-in-law, and 8 grandchildren a vacation filled with wonderful memories and really fun", wrote on our guestbook during January 2015, Richard and Carole Phillips from Auburn, California (please see their 50th anniversary 's dinner picture in the photos' section of this listing).
"When I organized this trip for my entire family, 11 of us, to celebrate a number of occasions, including my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, I never imagined that we would have such a perfect, magical experience. At this Caribbean beachfront villa, families from United States and Canada have had unforgettable anniversary's celebrations, birthdays, weddings, Thanksgivings, winters getaways, Spring breaks, Summers vacations and Christmas & New Years' family and friends reunions.

This home is beautiful and comfortable, the staff is amazing and Honduras is beautiful - from its people to its landscape !! Many activities are available on site or nearby, such as swimming, fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving in a world-class protected coral barrier reef: Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve (UNESCO World Heritage Site), horseback riding on the beach, historic sites, a thrill zip line and canopy adventure in the rainforest of the Honduran jungle full of fun.

Behind our estate are located the stunning Merendon green mountains, home of the 60,000-acre, Cusuco National Park; which has a tropical rainforest and a highland cloud forest, both featuring a diversity of tropical plants and over 250 exotic wildlife species (Oxford University, Operation Wallacea press news, September 07, 2006 and National Geographic Magazine). An article published on October, 2010 by the Irish Times describes the 'Hondurodendron' as a new genus of tree just discovered here by a team of researchers from Southern Illinois University, The Natural History Museum in London, Trinity College in Dublin and the world-renowned Missouri Botanical Garden; who described it as 'a once in a lifetime experience'. On October 15th, 2016, Science News, published the article: "Scientists Uncover New Coffee Tree Species in Honduras". This, new plant was also discovered on the mountains behind our villa. Who knows ? perhaps, you will be the next one to discover something unique in this tropical paradise.
This unknown, unexplored region is perhaps one of the most beautiful and fascinating treasures in the world still awaiting to be discovered !
During the first week of October 2015, the National Geographic channel aired the documentary: "The legend of the Monkey God". Finally, during 2015, Elkins and a team of archaeologists made the astonishing discovery of the lost city in Honduras. Book our villa and go on adventures like Indiana Jones !

Great place
We stayed for 2 weeks at the property. We felt safe the entire time. The staff is 5 stars. Dealing with the owner, the driver, the property manager and cooking and cleaning staff just amazing. They're is a bit of a language barrier so have your google translate i'f you don't know Spanish. The property is a bit dated and needs a few renos but just a beautiful spot. Overall for the price it is the best bang for the buck I have ever had travelling. Bring your appetite and thirst for adventure and you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful place for a large group wanting to relax iand have family time on the beach
If you're looking for a property on the beach in a remote setting of Honduras for a large group...this could be your place.
First of all the hospitality by Evenor (the owner), Erica (the chef) and Wilson (the concierge) was second to none. They all are warm and welcoming people and quickly become friends. As for the home and property it's located on a nice secluded beach with several bungalows and as well as 3 bedrooms in the main house. It has a very nice pool, use of horses, relax in hammocks with views of the ocean, wonderful food prepared by Chef Erika. Just a great place for a large family to spend time together, relax and enjoy.
Highly recommend and hope to return for a future family reunion.

A Memerable Christmas in Honduras
This estate vacation was everything it was promised to be, beautiful tropical location, lovely buildings, well kept grounds, private entry to the beach, and absolutely fantastic meals. But what will always stand out in my mind was the staff. They were always available to help make things go smoothly - knowledgable, patient, and eager to make our stay a memerable experience.
One of our group couldn't find his passport when we were packing up to head home which could have been a unpleasant ending to an enjoyable family vacation. But thanks to Evenor and his team, it all worked out alright. I was impressed and thankful for the way they all went over and above the call of duty searching and not giving up until the passport was found.
I would highly recommend this property and hope that I may have the opportunity to go back again some day.

Ebenor, the owner, was so easy to work with. He answered all of our questions and arranged for several excursions for us during our stay. The staff was amazing! Wilson (caretaker) worked very hard to ensure we were taken care of. Everything from getting us fresh coconuts to horseback riding on the beach and coming to the spa with us.Our driver Roosevelth was always happy and smiling and did a great job getting us wherever we needed to go. He and Alan also had a great trip to the spa with us:)Alan (chef) and Erika (helper) prepared some amazing dishes and Alan even shared his recipes with us. We did not expect to get three gourmet meals a day, but this is exactly what we got. I think we all gained a few pounds!Marlan did a fabulous job keeping up with our laundry and keeping the house clean and tidy. We certainly did not expect that kind of service when we booked the property. The property itself was perfect for us. We swam in the pool, played on the beach, and visited and played games inside at the bar. We did have one day when the air conditioning stopped working but Wilson worked all day to get it back up and running. Every effort was made to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.It was out first time to Honduras so we were not sure what to expect. I can safely say we had an amazing trip and would not hesitate to go back and enjoy this property again. Lynnette Sukut

Amazing time with a great staff!
This was a trip of 9 friends from Montana and Ilinois. Some of us were very experienced travels and others not so much. Ebenor and his staff were great! They were there to meet us at the airport, drive us where ever we wanted to go, take us on adventures, and answer any questions. We hiked in the jungle, went fishing- Honduran style, spent a couple days in Copan- a must, laid around the pool, spent a day in Belize on our own private island snorkeling, and enjoyed a night on the beach with some Garifuna dancers. Eric our driver and interpreter was great- he was so much fun, but made sure to take care of us. Alan, the chef, was incredible! Do not think about doing your own cooking, let him take care of you. The trip was everything I had hoped for. Thank you!
Side note- I had read many travel warnings- so were kind of nervous about going. We had absolutely no issues. Everyone we had any dealings with were very friendly. We saw nothing that made us worry. I would definitely go back.

Just what we were hoping for!
Our large family was looking for somewhere warm, on the beach, that could fit 24 people and provide an opportunity nearby where we could give humanitarian service. We were not looking for a hotel experience where everything was perfect, we wanted an opportunity to be a part of the culture of where we were visiting and this estate was just what we were hoping for!
The staff was exceptional! One of our favorite parts of our stay was having a chef! Alan, the chef, and Victoria were amazing - 3 wonderful meals a day and so attentive to the likes and dislikes of our crew. They even helped hold the babies during meals..so amazing and sweet. :) We had a couple nice sunny days, but it rained quite a bit, which could have really put a damper on the trip, but having meals to look forward too and enjoy as a family, made it great!
Wilson, the property caretaker was awesome, always available to help with whatever was needed!
There is a main house on the property that has 3 bedrooms and a decent size living room. where we often gathered. The other sleeping accommodations were cottages on the property easily accessed from the house. This I didn't realize when I booked, but it ended up being nice for the younger couples and their babies to have their own space when needed. The property was fenced and gated and we felt safe the whole time. The final road getting there is rough, but our drivers were amazing and made every effort to make us comfortable. If you can request Luis and "Roosevelt" as your drivers, I would highly recommend it! The house keepers also did a fantastic job keeping the house clean and doing laundry.
It's important to remember that this is Honduras and by Honduran standards where you are staying is fantastic, things are not perfect, but they are great and everyone on staff is making every effort to make your stay comfortable!
The beach was definitely a highlight. It is just right out the back gate. We played on the beach and in the waves whenever we had the chance! We also built an enormous sand castle that I don't think anyone will ever top! :) Wilson brought horses out on the beach and those who did that had a great time as well.
Lastly Evenor, the owner, was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. Always available to answer any question and help with any detail. He even went the extra mile and helped us meet Mary at Heart 2 Heart village where we were able to spend some time giving Optometric service.
A trip of a lifetime! Thank you

Wonderful family beach vacation
My husband and I, along with our four young children (ages 9-4) just returned from 8 wonderful days in Honduras. Ebenor was a wonderful man, very helpful. Drove us any where we needed to be and was on time. Wilson was so kind and played with the kids - took them fishing, jumping in the waves, horseback riding, and build the world's largest bond fire for them on the beach one evening. Alejanda, the cook, was so sweet. Her meals were amazing! The house was clean and large. Pool was wonderful and refreshing! We worked with a wonderful minstry two days - Worldwide Heart to Heart Children's Village. We also went to the water park close by the house and the fort in Omoa. We just love the beach and sunshine! Can't wait to come back to Honduras!

Fantastic Experience in Honduras
We were a group of 13 looking for a wonderful beach, a great place to settle for 2 weeks and amazing food. Boy, did we hit the jackpot. We loved our stay here. We traveled with family over Christmas 2016 and had such a memorable time.
I can not say enough good things about the hospitality, the food and the service. The driver was available 24/7, the chef and her assistant prepared incredible meals, the caretaker was so incredibly accommodating and Ebenor orchestrated the entire trip with ease. Because of our group size we inevitably had travel and logistic mishaps. It was handled with such patience and understanding and in such a warm way.
We are so very thankful for more than just having a great family vacation. We extended our happiness by falling in love with two puppies. It is ONLY with the help, attention and care from Ebenor and his staff that we have been able to adopt these adorable pups! Because of their time and generosity, our newest family members have been able to receive the most excellent of vet care in preparation for their travel to the US.
I can not say enough about the care and concern the entire team had for our well being!!

Perfect Christmas Vacation
Clear, blue skies, warm sun, sandy beach... What a setting ! Coconut juice fresh from the pods, warm tortillas and frijoles, oh my !
The staff members are all so gracious and accommodating. Chef Hector is an amazing professional who created three large and tasty meals every day. Alba is quiet and industrious, working tiressly to meet our needs. Mario competently carried us over rough roads without incident and was a friendly companion.
Wilson is so gracious and resourceful. He was a delight to visit with each day, full of smiles and always anticipating our needs -- raking the beach, saddling the horses, cutting coconuts and more.
It was also a pleasure to meet some of the staff's family members and we will remember all of you with affection and appreciation.

Trip of a lifetime!
We traveled from Canada on a family vacation with 8 of us ranging from 5months old to 65 years. Ebenor and his staff took care of us as if we were their own family. They were patient, kind and accommodating. When you read back through the reviews the staff have been with Ebenor for years... Wilson was a lovely host with good English. He was quick to respond and made unique moments for us. One afternoon he hopped up a coconut tree, dropped down some fruit and sliced the tops off to give us fresh drinks. We felt complete safe driving all around the countryside with Mario - he always left a safe distance and was a smooth and efficient driver (I get car sick easily and never once felt nauseous in the vehicle). The van was plenty big for our group and was in good condition. I wouldn't call Jamie a cook. He is a chef and every meal was heavenly!!! We asked for Honduran food and the food was better than what you would receive any 5star resort.
The grounds were beautiful. There was lots of space to be together but also have your own privacy.
The day trips were a great mix between learning about the country and adventure. It was clear that the tour options and guides have been carefully selected.
A few notes to the fussy/nervous travelers... The place is very clean! Food prep was impeccable -- no one got ill. Even when driving at night we felt very safe!!! :)
Highly recommend giving this place a try!!

Our 50th Anniversary Celebration
The villa's staff, Wilson (caretaker), Jaime (chef), Alba and Estella (housekeepers), and Mario (driver) were most friendly, welcoming and helpful - and they worked so hard ! Also, the boat crews were really helpful & were great fun. It was such a pleasure to wake up to coffee and breakfast already prepared. The amenities & food were great - the pool & beach were enjoyed by all. The grounds and setting on the beach with beautiful view of mountains are lovely and the warm water and surf were great for body surfing. Hiking to the waterfall and snorkeling were highlights. However, we enjoyed all the trips. The gals dancing on the beach by the bonfire were also fun to watch - the gals being my wife, daughters and granddaughters.
Thank you, Ebenor for making our 50th Anniversary celebration with our 3 daughters, 3 sons-in-law, and 8 grandchildren a vacation filled with wonderful memories and really fun experiences. We have a very special family and could not be more grateful for the love and the care they show one another. We really enjoyed the interaction between our three daughters, their husbands and our grandchildren. Dick and Carole Phillips, Auburn, CA.

The compound was the perfect oasis
First things first, everyone on the compound is awesome!
From Mario, the most patient and sweetest driver ever to Jaime, the chef and his right hand cooks delicious meals, never failed to send my taste buds to heaven, everyone is amazing. The compound was the perfect oasis. From the hammocks, the exotic birds can be heard singing their beautiful melodies. And from the beach, the most breathtaking views of the mountains can be seen. I can definitely see myself coming here again.

OMG This Place Was Amazing !!
The villa was very spacious, clean, quite and safe. We had plenty of room. The space was clean and very comfortable. There was plenty of things to do. Swimming in the pool, on the beach, horseback riding and just relaxing. We even took a short distance drive to Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. There, we took a ferry to Punta Gorda, Belize. During this trip, we were in three different countries on the same day !
We had a great chef Jaime, along with Mario, our driver. Warm water to bath, clean bottle drinking water and a secure location. I will be glad to come back and recommend this villa to anybody in search of a good vacation place.

Quality beach and pool time as a family !!
We had a great time here at the beach house. My intention for our vacation was to spend time together as a family. We had quality beach and pool time as a family.
The staff here was excellent !!
The cook made good food and Wilson made sure our needs were met. The driver (Mario) took us to Puerto Cortes, to the canopy/waterfall adventure park, and to Tela and La Ceiba beaches. Tela was absolutely beautiful !!
We were able to ride horses several times during our twelve-day stay here, on the beach and on the property. We had one scare when my eight year old son fell off the horse, but thank God he was ok.
Wilson made a bonfire for us on the beach and we made smores.
Overall, our vacation was exactly what we were looking for.
THANK YOU !! MUCHAS GRACIAS !!

Breathtaking Views! Mouthwatering Food!
We traveled with a group of 14 and once we arrived everyone was in awe! The property and home is beautiful and fully staffed! Get the chef and ask for Jaime everything was perfect! The beach was amazing, beautiful water with views of the cloud forest. We had a bonfire on the beach with a local Garifuno tribe performance. The staff catered to our every need! No complaints from any of my guest besides when it was time to leave, they all wanted to know when we could all come back to visit. It felt like home! Ebenor kept in communication with us, and picked up the group with a 16 passenger bus from the airport. We traveled to the property where breakfast, lunch and dinner was prepared. We had snacks, smoothies and available even alcohol! Fresh coconut water was served to us while we sat on the beach. They had umbrellas, and chairs which were taken out and pick up after we finished! You will definitely enjoy the stay at this beachfront property.

Found Paradise !
We were looking for a place to spend the upcoming holiday with our family and found paradise ! Definitely, this beautiful property is perfect for our family vacation. At the last minute we made plans to go + visit the property before making our holiday plans. Even though we spent a short 4 days + 3 nights - we had a wonderful time. I can honestly say we have never been treated more graciously ! All our needs were attended to. Everyone was sincerely helpful and extremely warm and friendly. Ebenor, asked us each evening where we wanted to go the following day. We went to the fort in Omoa and to the little town of Cuyamel. Wilson brought us the horses to ride on the beach, he cut the coconuts and Mario + Alejandra cooked us delicious and beautifully presented meals and kept the house spotless ! The house is located in a very safe area. This was truly an incredible mini vacation. We have stayed in many "homes" in our travels, but have never had the 5-Star treatment we received here. Thank you for a truly, beautiful memory ! Tim and Tena

A Wonderful and unique Honduran Vacation
Thanks for hosting us at this beautiful beachside house. The combination of the house, location, employees and country make this truly one of the most unique experiences one could find to explore Honduras. In addition, it is an easy and large enough place to have several families together-there were 13 of us. This property provides an opportunity to experience the warmth and friendliness of the Honduran people while getting to see fascinating parts of Honduras. The driver Ivan was our own personal tour guide and driver for our entire stay and was ready to drive us to the next adventure anytime. Ivan was extremely helpful in suggesting activities that were suited to our group and interests. Ebenor's willingness to help and flexibility included taking one of our guests to the airport for a departure several days before the rest of us. He provided a phone so he was available at all times for questions, advice or requests. Mario provided three meals a day at flexible times. The food was delicious, served attractively and was an excellent variety of Honduran cuisine. He worked with any suggestions or requests that our group had. Having Mario plan and prepare our meals made this a carefree vacation for our whole group. With Alejandra and Estella keeping the house tidy and helping Mario in the kitchen, there was nothing for us to do but to enjoy our Honduran vacation to the fullest. The house is on a beautiful beach where waves were perfect for body surfing and the sandy beach was great for walks. The boys organized soccer games in the evening, helped with horseback rides on the beach and retrieved coconuts. They added a fun and friendly dimension to our stay. We enjoyed a trip to the zipline adventure nearby. Our guides there were wonderful and provided a safe, exciting adventure high among the trees. There was a beautiful waterfall at the end of the zipline to cool off in. We took a boat ride up the river between Honduras and Guatemala where we saw wildlife and beautiful scenery. Our other adventures included a trip to the market in San Pedro Sula, a tour of the fort at Omoa, and an early morning ocean fishing trip. The week ended with a group of local garifuna dancers performing on the beach by a nighttime bonfire. The week wasn't long enough. Snorkeling in Belize and a trip to the ruins at Copan would be on our list for our next stay. Thanks to all of our new Honduran friends for the wonderful week of adventures.

A truly special, one-of-a-kind family vacation!
When I organized this trip for my entire family, 11 of us, to celebrate a number of occasions, including my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, I never imagined that we would have such a perfect, magical experience. From start to finish, you provide a smooth, well-planned out vacation adventure. I know that I speak for the entire family when I say that our trip ended up being much more than just a vacation. The beautiful setting and Honduran landscape is breathtaking. The property is perfectly equipped to handle many people, with a variety of activities and lots of space for everyone's comfort and relaxation. I appreciated that the grounds are natural, and that the residence is very comfortable, yet simple, not lavishly luxurious. Perfect for our taste! Activities at the house included lots of horseback riding (thanks Brayan and Yeisson), soccer with all the kids, swimming in the pools and ocean, boogie boarding, beachcombing, sand dollar hunting, beach volleyball, and a wonderful bonfire with garifuna music and dancing. Mario, with the help of Juana and Alejandra created delicious Honduran and regional dishes all week. Mario even made a beautiful cake for my parents' 40th! Juana and Alejandra kept the place sparkly clean, and even did our laundry!! Next time I won't bring so many clothes!. The activities and adventures in the surrounding area were also unique, interesting, and fun and exciting. Canopy zip-lining, jungle hike and waterfall swim, Omoa, Spanish fort and museum, boat trip to Montagua river. All amazing. These things alone would have made for a great trip. But it was the staff and all of the beautiful, wonderful Honduran friends and family members that we spent much time with that put this experience above and beyond anything that we could have hoped for, Ebenor, Mario, Juana, Alejandra, Wilson, Omar, Brayan, Yeisson, Ivan, and all the children who played with our kids, you will always be in our hearts. Your kindness, giving and openness touched us deeply. Thank you Ebenor and staff for giving us the opportunity to get to know this amazing area and its beautiful people. We hope that we may one day return. Me gusta mucho Honduras!!!! Derek Dassatti
