About this house rental
This large 700 square foot rental unit called the 'Coconut Corner' is one of the nicest rentals you will find on the Windward side of Oahu — a king size bed, full split A/C in every room and Smart TV's in both the bedroom and the living room, a fully upgraded kitchen with solid surface countertops, custom cabinetry, stainless steel fridge, range/oven, mircohood & dishwasher plus a covered patio with a table and chairs with ceiling fans throughout the rental, free parking right out front along with free laundry and WiFi. This large vacation rental is in a quiet residential neighborhood just a half-mile from an access to the beautiful sandy 2 mile stretch of Kailua Beach. This duplex is close to Kailua Town and the neighborhood Aikahi Park Shopping Center with restaurants, hair/nail, liquor/poke store, coffee shop, bank, gas station and a grocery store all within walking distance.
Kailua is a friendly town of about 38,000 located on the beautiful northeast shore of Oahu. I love Kailua for its many beaches and accessible off-shore islands. The beautiful two-mile stretch of sparkling Kailua Beach and adjoining Lanikai have been rated tops among America’s best beaches. Surf shorebreak, kayak, swim with the green sea turtles, or sail to one of the secluded offshore islands and maybe spot the whales breech offshore. It does not get any better than this!
It is only a 20-25 minute scenic drive to the airport, Honolulu, and Waikiki. Nearby sites include Kailua Beach Park, Kailua Farmers Market, Lanikai Pillbox hike, Maunawili Falls, Sea Life Park, Sandy Beach, Waimanalo, Hanauma Bay, and the North Shore.
Kailua town offers many diverse restaurants and shopping locations. There are businesses that offer kayaks, kite surfing, and wind surfing lessons and rentals. There are wonderful hiking trails nearby and waterfalls.
Kailua offers a completely different atmosphere from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Many of our guests enjoy the laid back atmosphere, sense of community, and Aloha Spirit we all share. Also, enjoy making your own meals in the full kitchen, even firing up the stainless gas grill to cook up some special dinners.
This rental is smoke free and we ask that our smoking guests smoke beyond the property lines only in the street.
This property is a legally established dwelling that is rented for periods of 30 consecutive days or more at any one time. For questions and to verify availability dates please contact the owner. A $50 reservation change fee will apply to any changes to an existing reservation initiated by guests.

Our stay at this Hale was everything that we had hoped for. Clean neat as a pin and in a wonderful neighborhood. Thanks Greg and we are hopefully looking for a repeat next year if possible.

My family very much enjoyed our time at this property. It was clean, had a fully-stocked kitchen, and included some great amenities, including home entertainment, beach equipment, and easy laundry access. It's in a great location -- safe & quiet neighborhood with easy walking access to the Aikahi shopping center and the beach. There's a super comfortable king-size bed and a futon couch if you need it. The residence itself is part of a larger house.

Helpful, friendly hosts and excellent home!
This home had everything we needed for our home on the island. The location near Kailua proved perfect for us to enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian scenery away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and Honolulu. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to restaurants and beaches.
The AC, Spacious bedroom, newly remodeled shower, full kitchen and beach gear, coolers, etc made it convenient for beach fun.
Would stay here again!

Amazing stay!
Mahalo for such a wonderful stay! The apartment had everything we needed and then some! The water pressure was perfect, the a/c was nice and cold and the bed was sooooo comfortable. Erik was always so quick to respond to me when I needed anything! We appreciate you all so much for sharing your home with us! Until next time!

Great place
Easy communication with owner, beautiful location that was close to family on the island, interior well laid out, very well stocked kitchen, extra sheets, pillows etc, easy access with key pad (no keys to keep track of), very comfortable bed & futon, efficient AC in both bedroom & living room, ability to use washer and dryer w/ easy access. Family Vacation
We had a great experience! Greg and Cindy were great hosts. The property had all of the amenities of home within a quiet neighborhood. We could walk to the beach and everything is within a 30 minute drive. Kailua has become one of our favorite places and we would definitely stay here again.

Great Stay
My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights and everything was great. Check-in was easy and Greg was very friendly and willing to help, if needed. Parking was convenient and the place is only about 7 minutes from the beach and to all nearby restaurants and grocery stores.
We especially liked the availability of beach gear that is included. My wife and I packed our car each morning with beach chairs, umbrella and towels. An added perk that really added to our vacation.
No complaints at all with our stay. The bed was comfy, 2 A/C's (one in bedroom and 1 in living room), all kitchen amenities needed (even a blender which was great.
Would definitely recommend and we would love to be back.

Great quiet little spot
This was a great little spot as a home-base for exploring the island. It is located in a nice quiet neighborhood & anytime we were there we'd have our meals outside on the covered lanai. Neighbors walking their dogs would often say hi which felt very welcoming. Well-equipped including everything you could need in the kitchen, beach gear, a cooler, cloth bags for purchases, etc. The closest beach entrance is a bit of a walk (but well worth viewing the sunrise from) & Kailua town and the main beach are a bit further away, but still just a quick drive. Greg was very responsive with answers to all our questions. Our entire stay was very relaxing!!

We loved out stay at Greg's place. It was clean, equipped with anything you could want and Greg was friendly and helpful. Waking up each morning, listening to the birds, reading my book on the front lanai while drinking coffee was the perfect way to start each day. Our kids appreciated the toy collection and we appreciated the very well stocked kitchen! We had to work and do distance learning during our stay and it worked really well in the space. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Great Kailua vacation spot
Gracious and responsive hosts. Wonderful quiet location, friendly neighbors and wonderful Kailua experience. Having lived in Kailua before, this is an excellent place to stay.

Pleasant & Comfortable experience
Rental is located on the owners property and has a private entrance. Entire unit is pleasantly decorated with comfortable seating. The kitchen was well equipped with generous counter space that made cooking very easy. Crock pot, Keurig coffeemaker, lots of fresh spices and ziplock bags, foil and the like were some extras that I didn't expect. Bed was comfortable. Warm lighting was plentiful and relaxing. No problems with the TV or internet.

It’s like staying with a friend’s family
I wish we’d come here sooner. Rather than dwell at some hotel, live in a home with all the necessary amenities for lounging or beaching. And, at this home, the hosts are particularly welcoming and generous. This corner unit was clean, lovely, and filled with thoughtful touches. The bed was soft and comfortable. The futon opened flat to a full size, reported as 54” to 75”. The shower was strong and hot. The wifi worked well. The dedicated parking spot, like living here, was easy.

Cozy home in a great neighborhood. Close to beach and town.
I travelled on my own to visit my daughter who works on the Island. I stayed for 3 weeks and loved the location of this house. I ran or hiked every day, afternoons spent on beautiful Kailua Beach. Owners had all the beach gear needed. Close to town and great proximity to adventuring the whole Island. I felt safe and enjoyed this home away from home feel! Also, important to me was having a full kitchen and this had everything I needed. Also, the futon in the living room allowed my daughter her space at night. Owners also gave me use of their washer/drier in the garage. Much needed! Highly recommend!

My second stay and I love this property!
The owners are delightful, and staying here makes you feel like you are in your own home! I can't say enough good things as there aren't enough words. It's a perfect 1 bedroom apartment/house - no steps, a modern kitchen, air conditioned, and extremely comfortable. You can't go wrong booking this property!

Wonderful!
We came to Hawaii for the first time to visit our daughter who had moved there a few months earlier. The place is wonderful. It has everything you could ask for. The place is very clean and nicely appointed. The use of the washer and drier was great! The nicely arranged full kitchen helped us prepare a big festive meal for the family, as well as reheating leftovers from various restaurants. The owners are terrific. We highly recommend the place!!

Lovely one bedroom apartment with all the amenities needed!
This is a great place to stay for one person, two people or a family with small children. The kitchen is fabulous! Lots of counter space, a microwave, dishwasher, stove and oven, refrigerator and freezer with an ice maker. The living room dining area is very comfortable and has an air conditioning unit as well as cross ventilation and a ceiling fan. The bedroom also has an air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan as well. Both the living room and bedroom have TV's connected to Spectrum cable. The bathroom has a tub and shower and the sink is in a separate area! There is a high speed wi-fi, a BBQ grill, & everything you need for the beach. You can use the washer and dryer which is in the garage! There's a small porch with a table and chairs as well. The owners are delightful and helpful and live in the attached home! I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a great place in Kailua!

great place
We enjoyed staying here. The unit is very comfortable with some lovely touches - great kitchen and bedroom, comfortable recliners in the living room, well stocked, nice neighbourhood, easy parking. And it actually has a bathtub as well as shower - not all that common. Greg and Cindy were easy to communicate with. Kailua is a good base for lots on the island, and has a super beach. We recommend.

Quiet neighborhood stay at Coconut Corner
Enjoyed all the amenities of this quiet corner unit with its lovely new kitchen and beautiful plank flooring. Fairly close to the beaches and shops and restaurants in town and well equipped with cooler, beach chairs etc. Living room furniture could use some updating though as we found the couches a bit uncomfortable. Air conditioning was greatly appreciated as we were there during some stormy, humid weather.

Needs work
While Greg was a gracious and accommodating host the unit needs a redo. The furniture was kind of shabby and the place needs to be upscaled. The mattress was too soft for us but that’s a personal preference. The bedroom light had no wall switch but was worked from a string hanging over the middle of the bed which was difficult to do when in bed. Overall, it was just adequate.

This is a nice rental. It was clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The bed was comfortable.

Nice quiet neighborhood on the west end of Kailua.
Nice attached unit with room for family to visit.
A little farther from the beach than we thought, but will probably stay there again.
Owners on site and friendly and helpful.

Well appointed and excellent location
We spent just about three months here. We found the unit to be clean, comfortable and very well appointed. Having the A/C was a huge plus, but when the trades were blowing the breeze through the unit was truly amazing. The unit is located in close proximity to the beach, the H-3, Marine Corps Base Hawaii and Kailua Town is only a mile + away. Cindy and Greg were wonderful hosts and were not the least bit invasive, but super friendly and helpful as needed. We look forward to coming back to Hawaii in the future and hope to rent this unit again as it met all of our needs and exceeded all of our expectations.

Property was very comfortable!

Coconut Corner was a Cute spot!
We stayed at CC for 2 nights, at the tail end of our trip to Hawaii. We wanted to spend some time on the north/east side of the island and are so glad that we did. We actually ran into Greg when we first got there, and he let us in, gave us a tour and took us through what was around the neighbourhood. What a guy.
The unit is attached to his home where he lives with his family. His office is attached to one side of the rental unit but other than hearing some voices in the mornings, it was really quiet. It is in a more residential area and you'll need to drive a bit to get to where you're going, but after staying at a resort hotel in Lahaina, I'll take a rental like this any day. The unit has been nicely updated and we have zero complaints about the set-up. Wine opener (albeit a little sticky) was on point, inspired some Christmas gift ideas.
We spent the 1.5 days we were there beaching (Lanikai) and hiking (Pill Box, drove over to Koko, too chicken to do Stairway), shopped at the Foodland that was 15 min away, spent the evenings eating on the little patio outside and watching movies (great channel selection when you're too pooped to do anything else). There are also a pair of lazboy recliners that will make your trip. Air conditioners were also a god-send, and the house is solar-powered. Definitely recommend for couples or families looking for a low-key, low-maintenance stay, that plan on doing a lot of activities during the day but want to come back to a comfortable place to stay at night.

Cozy Suburban Location for Two
Location is set in a nice suburban setting. Accommodations were very roomy for two. We like to walk and had no problem walking to the beach or the grocery store. We enjoyed exploring, shopping and eating in Kailua. Its a nice not overly touristy community. Easy access to Honolulu and rest of island.
Kitchen and living room were very nice. Unfortunately we were there for only 3 nights and were busy seeing the sights and didn't get to spend much time in the unit. The unit is attached to the owners house, but nicely separated entrances. Outdoor patio was nice to sit and relax with view of nearby hills. Owner allowed us access to their garage for access to washing machine/dryer and beach equipment. Parking spot was a little wonky and kitchen supplies could use an update.
Recommend to anyone looking for a cozy ample accommodations in Kailua for two and aren't looking to be on the beach.

Perfect spot
Stayed at Coconut Corner for 10 days for vacation during the 4th of July weekend. The house had everything we needed and in close proximity to the beach. The cottage was in great condition and even had full use of beach gear in his garage. Thank you for welcoming us to your home, and Maggie too! Definitely will stay again in the future.

Coconut Corner
The coconut corner is an excellent rental in a quiet Kailua neighborhood. My family and I stayed here in July, and were very impressed with the hospitality of Greg and his wife; they provide everything in the rental a vacationing family could possibly need - beach chairs, boogie boards, towels, games, etc. The apartment has one bedroom with a very comfy king bed, and two sleeper futons in the living area. It's a great place to use as a base to explore Oahu since the highway is close, and there is little traffic (you can be anywhere on the island in less than an hour!).
Kailua is a wonderful town, and a place were you can totally relax. We'll be back!

Not much value
The rental was off a main road with easy access to Kailua, North Shore, Waimanalo, and Honolulu. The master bedroom was adequate size with a TV separate from the living room, which also had a TV. The apartment itself never felt cramped for four people. The AC in the master bedroom, and the living room were great, as it does get warm inside. Kailua, and the surrounding areas have amazing beaches. There is plenty to do in Kailua at night to keep you busy for a week. We did appreciate the beach chairs, boogie boards, and towels.
We stayed during the Christmas Break time frame. The cost of our stay approached $300 a night. The first thing we noticed was the master bed. The middle of the bed bulged up, so it felt like we were always rolling downhill, and sleeping on the edge of the bed. There were two futons in the living room One was long enough for an adult, but the other is definitely only appropriate for a young child. Neither “bed” was very comfortable. This particular rental felt like a “business” and money is the bottom line. For example, there was exactly one roll of toilet paper for our 12-night stay. If I pay $300 a night at a hotel I would at least get fresh toilet paper, right? There wasn’t any welcoming coffee, tea, or Hawaiian treats you might get with other rentals. When arriving late at night the last thing I want to do in the morning is get up and drive to Safeway for coffee.
One thing to consider is the location of this rental. It is not even remotely close to the beach. It is in a suburban neighborhood, and with that comes suburban noise. The neighbor’s dog barks constantly. I thought it might stop at some point, but it never really did. There are heating oil trucks, garbage trucks, and you name it vehicles doing all sorts of activity very early in the morning. Granted, that will be almost anywhere you rent in Kailua. The kitchen is very large with updated kitchen appliances. Unless you “love” to cook while on vacation don’t be swayed by this feature. I found it slightly annoying that the renters want you to pay half by credit card, and then half by cash when you arrive. Have you ever traveled with $1800 in your wallet? In addition the deposit had to be paid in cash, but then it was refunded to your credit card 14 days later. Really, 14 days? What can I say? I guess I was underwhelmed with the property. We will move on from Kailua…look for a place with immediate beach access…at a lower price.

Coconut Corner
Had a great long stay in this rental. The location and neighborhood was great, close to the beautiful Kailua beach and town but in a quiet neighborhood, small shopping mall nearby. Easy to get to Honolulu by car or bus, the windward side north of Kailua was great to explore. New quiet AirCon units (but most days was really pleasant with just windows and fans on.)

Coconut Corner
My family and I stared here in July and we had a great time. The rental is in Kailua so it is not as busy as the west side of the island. It was very relaxing. The house is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy a great vacation. The neighborhood is very quiet. We didn't really need to buy anything as the house had just about everything we needed, to include: dishwasher, fridge with icemaker, a washer/dryer, boogie board, games, wifi, coolers, beach chairs and towels. Greg is a great host and made our stay enjoyable. We had an issue with the Wifi one night and he called his provider and had it reset within the hour (made our teenage boys very happy). The beaches in Kailua are great and not crowded. Safeway is less than a mile away and the center of town is less than 2 miles away. We will definitely consider staying here again when we travel back to the island.

Coconut Corner Rental
My husband, 2-year-old son, and I stayed for a week this past December. It was a fantastic home base for our trip to Oahu; very quiet area but it didn't take long to drive anywhere. The rental was truly a home away from home with a fully stocked kitchen (including dishwasher!) and use of the washer and dryer. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us and I appreciated the little extras like crayons for the kiddo and interesting books and magazines to peruse. Overall a great place!

Coconut Corner of Aloha
August Trip to drop off our son to start college at UH@Manoa. It was a great option for a stay away from busy, touristy Waikiki/Honolulu areas, yet not too far from that area or the university to be a commute hassle! Located in Kailua, attached to the owner's home in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Home away from home with all the amenities you could want and need, including the use of their washer/dryer which was much appreciated. There's one bedroom with a King bed, and in the living room a sofa bed & futon, which was ample for 4 adults. Would recommend with no hesitation.

Due to construction at our home, we stayed at Greg & Cindy's vacation rental. We were extremely pleased at the experience. The rental was very clean, quiet and had all the comforts of home including a large kitchen with all cooking necessesities. The king size bed and air conditioning was a definate plus! The location was ideal near Safeway and the beach. Parking was right in front of the house and wireless internet was a lifesaver! As Kailua residents we would positively recommend the rental to anyone who wanted to to visit Hawaii and get the Kailua experience.
