My son’s wedding was at the nearby Crescent Hotel. You can easily walk to the hotel!! It’s very quiet and it’s decorated beautifully.

Enjoyed sitting on the porch with our coffee. We spent most of our time in the historic/shopping area, which was 10-15 minute walk. Crescent hotel is a short walk up the hill. It is an older house with a few quirks (taller folk watch your head going into the upstairs bathroom) but we had those expectations so didn’t bother us. The stairs down to the bedrooms was steep, but wasn’t an issue for us.

This house was great! So charming and welcoming. Host had fresh flowers and some snacks set out for our arrival. Check in was easy and it was very clean. We enjoyed the easy walk to Brews and downtown. AC units kept us comfortable and the deck was great. The decor was perfect for the period. The first few steps leading to the downstairs (where both bedrooms are located) were narrow and pretty steep, so if you have someone that can’t navigate steep stairs know that. Our crew was good though. We would stay here again, great place.

We had a great stay here. The only thing that I can say is if you or your people staying have mobility issues this is not the house for you. The shower and tub are both downstairs and the stairway would be very difficult to navigate if there were issues. If you are healthy with no issues, then this is the place for you. It fits perfectly with the whole Eureka vibe! We definately will be back

My (2) college friends met me at this property. The home lacked the certain kind of warmth I expected. Physical warmth. I stayed cold. I suggestion packing a blanket (or conveniently forget and treat yourself in town) and noise canceling ear plugs (if you’re not used to loud box heaters). I have always loved the town and looking back on my stay, I can say I liked the house.

Just my friend and I stayed here and we’re in our 40s so we had no problems with the super steep stairs but would not recommend to anyone who has mobility issues. Other than that we loved our stay we wanted to stay in a historic place down on spring street and it met our needs!

The perfect house to stay in while in Eureka Springs!
We loved staying in the Bodie House. It was very clean and comfortable and the perfect location along Spring Street - our favorite part of town. Very quiet neighborhood. We loved all the detail and Victorian charm of the Bodie and there was great communication from the owner.

Great cottage in perfect location
What a neat little cottage! Perfect location & size for our 2 couples. A little updating of the shower would make this place just about perfect but still a great place to stay. Bedrooms & showering are all downstairs so know that going in. Hosts were absolutely wonderful. Parking on the street was plenty for our 2 vehicles as well

Lovely
The home was cozy, clean and inviting. The location was AMAZING! Sadly,I didn’t read the reviews and wasn’t clear on the placements of the bedrooms and narrow staircase leading down. This is not a home to take anyone with physical limitations. Although there is a sleeper sofa on the main floor it wasn’t ideal for my 73 year old mom. The shower in the basement wasn’t as I would have liked either. However, the claw foot tub was amazing for a soak.
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home. Eureka Springs was wonderful!

Unique home, nestled in the neighborhood that is just steps away from downtown. Enjoyed the well furnished kitchen, the views, and the ease for getting to the shops and restaurants. Right by a trolley stop!

Superb
My husband and I, along with a friend, booked our stay several months ahead. We never walked to town from the house as it seemed like it would be challenging for us. It was so fun to sort of pretend to be locals for a little while. The peace of being at the house was welcome after the fun of busy downtown shopping. The stairs are narrow so you just have to be careful and don’t get in a hurry. We found the house to be comfortable and charming! We spent some time visiting with a neighbor- he was so friendly and answered a ton of questions about living in Eureka Springs.

Quaint Cottages
This home was built in the 1800's.. It has a lot of charm with the uneven floors, beautiful antique's. We loved sitting on the front porch people watching. A short 7 min walk from downtown. It has steep stairs to the bedroom. Not a deal breaker for us. Just if you have physical problems. We enjoyed waking up to such a beautiful view of the mountains. Nicely equipped kitchen. Shower was super cool in the stone basement. Nice laundry area. It's been a lifelong dream to stay in a house on this street. I am in my 60's.

Not what was expected.
Overall process was easy and house was clean and good location. No problem there. I was unaware that all bedrooms were downstairs, and by downstairs i mean down a VERY narrow, steep, staircase. My mother and sister were with me and carrying luggage down those stairs was a very big struggle, especially since my sister is recovering from back surgery. Would have never booked if we would have known this fact. The house is leaning, majorly, in a very scary (I’m assuming safe though) manner. In fact was the first thing we noticed when walking in. Took us for a bit of a shock. The shower is located in a unfinished basement/utility room that is damp and creepy. Needless to say, no showers were taken on the stay. Lastly, one big advertisement was that you can see Jesus of the Ozarks from the back porch. We did finally see it lit up the last night we were there through trees but the trees have grown so much that you can not see it during the day or barely at night anymore, so that probably needs to be taken off the listing.

If you have allergies
The old smell was a little much for my allergies. However it was misting on front porch. The railing was very low off balcony and the stairs were pretty steep to bedroom.

Cute little cottage and very convenient
We absolutely loved the look and feel of this cottage, not to mention the entire town. It has so much character! The house itself is very clean and furnished well. The way that the floors lean in places can be a bit surprising but you’d expect that in an older home like this. The only downside that we saw was that the mattresses are definitely firm. Better bring an extra blanket or two if you don’t like that. Really great experience overall though!

Great Location, small but quaint
My original scenario for who all was staying with me changed as it was time to arrive in Eureka Springs. We were there for a nephew's wedding at the Crescent Hotel so it was a great location for that purpose. The house is historic and slopes toward the back so if you are unsteady on your feet, this is not the place for you. I did not know that the one main bathroom on the lower level was a shared bathroom with both guest rooms, it makes sense given the age of the house. It only had a tub and I did not find out after arriving home that the shower was in a dark basement area off the bedrooms. We ended up going to a hotel where family was staying to take our showers. The stair case was very steep, curved at the top and narrow so if an elderly person is staying there it could be tricky for them. The back porch is nice but does not have the view described on the website because everything is over grown. Overall, it worked out fine for our purpose since we had other family in town.

3 night stay
Been to Eureka several times but our first stay at this property and we enjoyed it very much. The location is great and an easy walk to the shops. Had a problem with the upstairs toilet but was repaired promptly. As others have stated the stairs are narrow and require some concentration for us seniors but no big deal. Overall a good value and would stay here again.

Quaint but not as expected
We knew that the property was built in 1885 but was not expecting uneven floors and no A/C in guest bedroom. The ratings for this property is why we rented it but they were misleading as well, saying that the property is “quirky”, etc.
The stairway down to the bedrooms were tricky to navigate. It was good for us we found a small oscillating fan in the laundry room that we set up in the bathroom to flow air from the main bedroom to the guest bedroom to cool it down a little.
The description says it’s in walking distance to downtown. We are in fairly good shape, walking everywhere we go and yet it would have been a treacherous hike to go into downtown. We do suggest taking the trolley since there is a trolley stop less than 50ft. from the house.

Overall a nice place to stay
The house is over 100 years old and we expected certain quirks to go along with that. However, the VRBO description clearly stated that the 2nd bathroom included a toilet and a shower. The shower is located in the same room as the washer/dryer - no toilet and not sink just the shower. In itself, this is not a problem, but when it clearly opposes the written description it comes across as a bit deceptive. The stairs, to the bedrooms and one bathroom and the shower, are quite steep and that is not noted in the description. I booked directly on VRBO and was not contacted by the property manager at any time. The furniture in the living room is not comfortable to sit on for long. Having said this though we did enjoy our overall stay and the ability to spread out a bit after being out in the heat all day. It was walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants and very close to the Crescent Hotel where we had breakfast one morning.

Perfect Vacation Spot
This historic cottage on a shady street is the perfect place for a couple's getaway. We stayed for a week to celebrate our anniversary, and were able to walk to shops, restaurants, and spa. Unforgettable.

We loved Eureka Springs!!
Perfect location - it was nice to sit on the porch for a couple of cocktails before heading out for dinner and watch the world go by. Cute and cozy cottage, I would just let people know that there is a nice claw foot tub in the bathroom, however, the shower is in an unfinished basement. My husband had no issues showering down there, but I’m a wimp so I took baths and washed my hair in the sink. Other than that, it was perfect for us!

Lovely Stay
My adult daughter and I stayed a few days in this wonderful, vintage property. The location was perfect. Just far enough away for quiet but easily walkable to town. The home served our needs perfectly. It is very cute and decorated with the theme of the town in mind. It is a very peaceful and cozy home and we can highly recommend a stay here!

Great location to downtown and Crescent Hotel.
Was a little difficult getting up and down to bedrooms but we made it. I don’t remember if this is mentioned in the VRBO ad but would be good to let folks know. Also had an ant problem in the kitchen. Owner very accommodating to bring another key when we locked the other one inside the house. Thank you!

Eureka Springs Getaway
The Bodie House is situated in a historical neighborhood of beautiful period homes. It is a small home but very comfortable for a small group. We enjoyed spending time on the downstairs back deck--drinking wine and enjoying the beautiful weather. The trolley stop is feet away which makes for a convenient ride into downtown (a 2-day pass is $10). We enjoyed our stay here.

As clean and stocked as a hotel but very much like staying in a period piece.

Perfect location
I had been to Eureka Springs in years past, first as a 12 year old with my folks (stayed in hotel). Then a couple of times with a lady I was dating (stayed in hotels) but loved the look of the Victorian era homes and would have loved to have stayed in one. So when the opportunity to return to Eureka Springs after a dozen years was made available I immediately searched places I wanted. First on the list was a reasonably priced, Victorian home. After a short search, I found the Bodie House, showed it to my friend and I decided to book. The home is quaint, perfectly located (We walked everywhere!), we were just down the hill from St Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Crescent Hotel. Additionally, the claw foot tub was so neat! The porches are fantastic as well. I love cooking and was pleasantly surprised to see a gas range in the kitchen. The only gripe I had, not on the house, I am 6'1" the upstairs bathroom doorway is treacherous for tall folks, and a support beam in the sitting area as well. The steps going down are a bit tight at the top but not bad. For those going in the off-season, there is a little issue with heating both bedrooms but if it is just a couple, you will be fine. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The cottage is very cute and has a great view off the lower level deck. We sat outside our last morning and watched the sun rise over the hills. It's close to downtown and there is a trolley stop next door!

Perfect Get Away from It All
This is the second time we've stayed at Bodie Cottage. It's close to downtown, but far enough away to avoid all the traffic (auto and pedestrian). We enjoyed sitting on both the front and back porches to enjoy the wonderful fall weather. In the evening's we enjoyed the sitting area for reading. The Internet works well, we were able to get caught up on British Baking via Netflix. We would definitely stay a third time.
