About this house rental
Peaceful townhouse in a central downtown location. The home has 2 'master' bedrooms with King size beds, plus a bonus room with a Twin daybed and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The upstairs full bathroom is off the hallway and a new full bathroom off the Back Bedroom & Twin Bed alcove. Note the Twin daybed room is not an independent bedroom as one must walk through the back King bedroom to get to the Twin room.
Downstairs you will find a half bathroom, dining room, living room and private enclosed sun room with deep seating. Full kitchen. Shared rear courtyard with plenty of seating (shared with the carriage house detached apartment on the same lot. This historic brick home was constructed in 1871. The generously sized all brick house was designed and built for Adele Goerz, one of Savannah's earliest female real estate developers. Adele, the widow of a baker raised 3 children on her own after his early death. This and 3 other houses on this block were her first investment in what became a lifelong business venture.
Parking is free on the non-metered public street on this block and you're welcome to bring 2 cars. Ask if you want tips on off street paid satellite parking in parking decks. Metered parking starts about 1 block away and meters are best handled with a 'Visitors Parking Day Pass' available to cover all day/night parking for travelers. The Pass is $8 per 24 hours or $14 per 48 hours as of 2017. This can be purchased from the Visitors Center on MLK, the Parking Services office on Bryan or the 17hundred90 Inn front desk at 302 E Presidents Street.

Beautiful home with privileged location and all necessary amenities. Ample spaces and nice decorative details.

We were looking for an affordable option for our family vacation, and this row house was perfect! Plenty of room for us to spread out, and we didn’t feel cramped. The kitchen is small; however, it was adequate for preparing breakfast as we ate out the other meals. My only suggestion would be adding an additional tv in this house. The location was perfect for walking to many places. Parking was easy and usually available right in front of the house. We would definitely stay here again.

This location was perfect for our girls trip. The home was beautiful and clean. We were able to walk everywhere.

We loved the location of the property! Very clean and comfortable!

Great clean propert with plenty of rooms and bathrooms for our family of 6. Great location and walking distance to the beautiful squares and restaurants in the historic district. My only thing I would change was that the check out time of 10am, which was a bit early and wished it would've been 11am. It was difficult to get everout by then. Otherwise, a great experience.

This property was clean and just as expected. Location was very good, walkable for a majority of adults to most attractions and restaurants. The parking was indeed easy, the 4pm check in lines up nicely for finding a spot. The house was well furnished and comfortable, with great historic charm and updated in all the right ways (bathrooms, AC, etc). Property management was responsive and accommodating. Would definitely stay again and recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The row house was clean and had great character!
The ONLY drawback was no WiFi. I’m a teacher, and I had a little work to do that required internet. I made it though, so no big concern. The home is awesome! We hope to return soon!

Location, location, location! Perfect for walking to all the sights. House was clean. Beds comfortable.

This was possibly the most comfortable place we have ever stayed at. It was very roomy, very clean, in a wonderful location. We lacked for nothing! We are walkers, so we could access anywhere in the old town of Savannah which was only 0.5-0.8 miles away on foot. The parking was free and readily available. (We did hve to move the car on Wednesday for street cleaning, but we just paid for parking that day.)

Girls weekend in Savannah. Property was perfect. Four adults, separate sleeping arrangements good. Living area plenty big with room to socialize and table to play games. Location good. Free street parking. We Ubered downtown several times but plenty nearby within walking distance. Would stay here again.

Loved staying in this historic house. Just a couple of blocks from just St Johns church. Walking distance to many of the historic sites.

Our son is headed to SCAD in the fall so our family wanted to spend a wknd in Savannah checking out the campus, the city, and the coast. This house met all of our needs and was very comfortable for our family of 5. We walked everywhere and truly had the best wknd. We will try and stay here again in the future when we come to visit him!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this townhouse in Savannah. It was very well-stocked, rooms were spacious, and bed/furniture were all very comfortable. We especially liked the proximity to the riverfront and many restaurants. I highly recommend this place for your trip to the Savannah Historic District.

This property was just spectacular. It was more than we expected with the size of the rooms, the decor, great bathrooms and location- it was just perfect! I would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Savannah. No complaints at all.

This home was just beautiful! In a lovely historic area of Savannah. It was a short walk or a shorter Uber to lots of shopping, squares to sit and relax, the riverfront and more. The owner was SO accommodating and responsive. We will be back ❤️

The location was wonderful and parking was easy and accessible right out front. The rooms were good size and had a great layout for us with two couples plus our 10-year-old.
The furnishings are very stained (the living room ottomans, the dining chairs, the quilts on the beds, the outdoor furniture cushions) and the rooms are all very meh. They have the basics and it was fine for a short trip, but you can tell it’s owned by a company that is in business for the money, no pride in ownership or little touches you find in many of the rentals owned by individuals. Minimal towels, no tissues, the paint on the ceiling in the 3rd bedroom (it’s a walk in closet converted to a bedroom) is peeling off from water leaks, the back patio is completely filthy and hasn’t been cleaned in months, or longer, so it was unusable, the beds were SO HARD, and the property has weeds growing in the front and back which just makes it look worse than it actually is, especially compared to many of the well-maintained neighboring properties.
I don’t want to just bash the property as it was “fine” for us for 3 nights, but I wouldn’t want to stay here for much longer, even though the location was great.

My teenage sons, my husband, and myself stayed here for five days. It was exactly what we were hoping for! It is on a busy street, so it can get a little noisy. We knew to expect that so we brought a small sound machine to sleep with. The rooms are big, and the bathroom with the washer and dryer is awesome! We had one little issue that we ran into and texted the owner about it and it was fixed pretty immediately.
We felt safe in this area and walked all around downtown Savannah from this townhome. The walk to River Street was about 10 or 15 minutes. It was really nice being close enough to everything to walk, but not right in the middle of all the shops and crowds. There are lots of little restaurants and cafés within a five minute walk along with multiple squares, parks, and a really cool cemetery!
We had a blast here, and we would definitely stay here again!

This adorable home was in the perfect location for walking and exploring all that Savannah has to offer! Check in and check out process was as easy as it comes. Would definitely stay here again.

We loved this house, close to lots of great bars and restaurants. Plenty of room for 2 couples. A small area outside our back was nice to be outside for morning coffee. Loved the history of the area.

Did a birthday weekend with friends. Walkable to all bars and restaurants/riverfront. Never had to call an Uber. Great place, check in is easy, very clean, great outside patio. Thank you

Felt safe walking the historic district and found that this property was always in a great location to come to & from.

The historic location was perfect. We parked our car upon arrival and walked everywhere after that! Bay St/River St was only minutes away, and there were excellent dining choices nearby. Well stocked kitchen and plenty of space to relax. Primary bedroom with en suite was incredible!

The Townhouse was a great spot for a girls trip! Easy to walk to all locations, and it's a nice escape from the really touristy areas.
Near the Townhouse: Satchel which is an amazing Leather Shop, Hide, Savannah Coffee Roasters, and Java Burrito Com.
The Property was clean and management was very helpful!

The accommodations were perfect for our 3 day Girl's Trip (we're in our 50s). I loved the electronic Welcome sign that offered suggestions for places to eat & visit - the board is interactive &connected to the internet.
We easily walked to some of our destinations, also used Lyft, the orand & green hop on-off trolley which conveniently has two stops within blocks. We had a rental car for longer excursions and didn’t have any trouble parking in front of the house for easy loading-unloading luggage, etc.
The interior of the home was well-appointed. The four of us enjoyed the private courtyard, hanging out in the sunroom before and after our outdoor adventures. The kitchen is small but very well-appointed- we enjoyed putting together a charcuterie & wine, snacks, breakfast. The beds were exceptionally comfortable (a couple of extra blankets would have been nice). Water pressure & showerheads in the two upstairs bedrooms were wonderful!
Things to watch out for: there is a step up into the kitchen that is marked on the floor but if you're carrying in an armload of groceries on your arrival, you don't see that step. Maybe a sign at eye level would help?
The stairs going to the second floor are a little steep and the risers aren’t all the same height (house was built in 1870s). It didn’t bother me but the other three gals mentioned it a couple times. There are railings on each side for assistance
We all agreed we loved the home & would definitely stay again - highly recommend!

Chairs in dining room were horribly stained, patio was definitely not cleaned off prior to our arrival, furniture very dirty and cushions just thrown in a corner against a back door. Could have been a lovely place to have morning coffee.
There are definitely only two bedrooms, with an alcove off of one bedroom (before the on suite) where they’ve put a twin bed.
Kitchen is very small, a one cook kitchen. The array of utensils look like they were picked up at goodwill. The can opener didn’t work at all and we had to use a church key to open cans. There was one over sized spatula melted at the ends. I took pictures to include if it will let me upload,
The front door uses a code to open and lock which is great until it doesn’t work. Customer Service was provided by Mary who needs a lesson on what customer service means. We were trying to leave for a tour scheduled, the door wouldn’t lock. When I called her about it she stated it had always worked for everyone else, inferring we were too ignorant to use it, when I kept insisting that it didn’t work now she finally sent a handyman out to inspect it. He arrived shortly and had to chisel the rotting wood around the lock out. Because of the rain the wood had swollen. This in itself is to be expected but her behavior was unexceptional. There was no no follow up call to verify all was working properly.
We tried to do a late checkout (just an hour) and were informed that you had to send money with the request to the housekeeper.
I’ve rented VRBO for over 10 years domestically and internationally. I’ve never run into a no cancellation policy but felt safe in booking the house. Once we arrived the list of rules and the tone used in stating the rules was most unwelcoming
Beware, look at the company listing this rental, as they have others, and think twice about staying with them.
On a positive note; the beds were very comfortable and the location is excellent. My friends and I will never book with the listing management company again.
