About this cottage rental
Our Waterfall Cottage is a 2BR/2BA vacation home within sight and sound of the iconic 50 ft tall Cane Creek Falls. Large screened porch, wood-burning fireplace, WiFi and more on Cane Creek. It is located in the very unique and special location inside the several hundred acre Glisson Camp and Retreat Center. There is a small enclave of privately owned cottages, which are accessible at all times. Ours is the second one downstream at the base of the falls. A large screened porch with dining table and comfortable seating area and other viewing areas will give you the sense of really being with nature as the cottage is about fifty feet from Cane Creek. Lots on either side are vacant and Falls Mountain is behind the cottage. It has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed and two full baths, fireplace (operational October through March) & we supply Duraflame 3 hour logs (1 per night), free WiFi, Smart TV via Amazon Fire TV stick with YouTube TV, Hulu, Netflix & Prime Video, land-line phone with unlimited USA long distance (cell service is spotty), lower covered deck with porch swing. Breakfast is not provided, but we do provide coffee and all the basic needs for cooking. There are no dishwasher or laundry facilities. We provide camp chairs for you to take to sit by the falls. We have a BBQ and provide charcoal. Cane Creek is a designated trout stream and is now open year-round, but you must have a valid Georgia license to fish. We use the Waterfall Cottage as our own get-away when not rented and thoroughly enjoy spending time there. There are hiking trails all around the camp and maps are located on signs at the welcome center and downstream of the cottage. The falls area is rich in history as a Native American gathering place with netting holes and petroglyphs etched in the rocks by the falls. It was also the site of a very early large water wheel electric generating plant. Much of the time you will find the cottage to be a very quiet and peaceful get-away. The camp does have retreats many weekends, but the main buildings and their cabins are not located near our cottage with the exception of the Program Center, which was designed after the gold mining structures of Dahlonega’s history.
It is about 5 minutes from the Dahlonega Square.
Some things for you to consider before renting this very special cottage: 1. Strictly limited to four people maximum including children, 2. absolutely no pets, 3. absolutely no smoking anywhere either inside the cottage or outside as the camp is tobacco free, 4. the parking area is about 90 yards from the cottage – you park and then walk toward the falls and then across the foot bridge in front of the falls and then up a path 5. two night minimum with some holidays requiring 3 niights. 6. The second bedroom has private access to the second bathroom and screened porch and there is a door between that area and the master bedroom, but access from the second bedroom to the kitchen/living room is through the master bedroom, unless you go through the screened porch, to the lower deck and up the outside steps. 7. There are about 10 private cottages along the creek inside the 400 acre Methodist owned Camp Glisson Retreat Center. In 2025 from June 1st to August 1st there are youth summer camp sessions from Sunday afternoon until Friday noon. The camp owns the falls, creek and hiking trails. We ask that guests give young campers their space while enjoying the outdoors during organized activities Sunday afternoon through Friday morning during summer camp. During summer camp guests can use the immediate waterfall area anytime the young campers are not there. Guests can see the falls from the cottage and especially from the Adirondack chair area. Camp trails are closed during summer camp, but there are many hiking trails nearby and many lead to other waterfalls. Friday afternoon through Sunday morning during summer camp there are no children in camp, only the camp counselors. So, guests are welcome to use the immediate falls area. 8. We have 2 exterior security cameras aimed at the cottage door and the lower deck. There are no interior cameras. We turn the cameras on when the cottage is vacant. We sometimes turn on the cottage door camera until guests check in so we know they have arrived safely. We then turn them off.

The cabin has a beautiful view of a waterfall, nestled in the woods. The cabin is beautifully decorated, the online photos are exactly as it was described. A large kids group at the nearby camp arrived on our last 2 days’ stay.. they were a noisy bunch, but luckily didn’t stay at the falls but a few hours each day. Very nice getaway.

Very easy to check in and find the location. Everything advertised was present and no issues at all. The views and sounds were gorgeous

From the waterfall, to the cabin, to the delicious homemade muffins the host made, this trip was wonderful! We loved sitting on the screened in porch watching and listening to nature and the waterfall. We hope to book again!

We had a wonderful quick stay for our anniversary. The cabin was very nice and our favorite part was the screened in porch overlooking the waterfall!

My wife and have stressful jobs and 2 kids. We wanted to get away, but stay close to home to celebrate our 23rd year anniversary. This cottage was 45min from our home, but it felt like we were in a different world. The sound of the rushing waterfall in the background was therapeutic and calming. Drinking a hot cup of coffee on the screened in porch while we planned our day was amazing! Grilling steaks on the grill will listening to the water fall and watching the fish jumping in pools of water in the late evening was also amazing. We look foward to staying on at this cottage in the future!

The waterfall makes you forget theres anything else to do around town. We just stayed and played all day in the creek. The house has everything you could want. Two covered porches are incredible. Its very clean especially for being located in the middle of the woods by a creek.

This location was the perfect backdrop for our 20th anniversary. The sound of the waterfall was absolute magic, and the cabin was super clean and inviting!

We loved basing our adventures at this lovely little cabin. Being tucked under the trees and next to the creek, we slept so good. After a day exploring and hiking, we looked forward to being back at the cabin and relaxing. The little town of Dalonaga is super cute too and everyone was very friendly.
We had no issue with the parking lot being across the bridge. The walk was much less than any resort and we got to look out from the screened porch directly to the creek.

Was very pleased with this property. It was a beautiful place. Highly recommend. Only thing was not being able to access certain spots due to summer camp going on.

Rented property to attend Karen Peck and New River homecoming. Property was just as described and made for the perfect getaway. Host had left a box of muffins as a welcome gift and a note with a contact name if we were interested in viewing the falls. Highly recommend this for the perfect weekend getaway.

We enjoyed this quaint cabin on the river with the waterfalls just steps away. The cabin itself is a cozy retreat nestled in the woods. We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the falls with our coffee, a good book, just soaking in the beauty. My children had a great time fishing and exploring along the river. Great location, close to any activity or store you’d like to visit. Great communication with Tim, who is very helpful.

Beautiful Cottage with an absolutely gorgeous surrounding and the waterfall tops it all. Description of rhe property is spot on and there are no surprises. The area surrounding the property is so peaceful. The falls and the creek are so relaxing. This is a gem of gems!!

Tucked nicely on a hill near the beautiful Dahlonega Falls. The rushing water was more impressive than we expected and soothing for a restful stay
We’re in our 70’s so the trek with luggage was quite a task fortunately we’re both in good health
And active. The kitchen had everything we needed. The layout was typical of a small cabin with walkthrough bedrooms one of the showers was very slippery so we used the master shower for safety in summary it was a good stay.

We stayed here in early April of 24. I'd been to Camp Glisson a while back (maybe when Nixon was President?), and remembered how pretty the falls are.
The cabin is new-looking inside. I'd guess it has had a fairly recent remodel. The grounds are quite beautiful. This is the second cabin down from the base of the falls, and you have a very good view of the falls. The view is excellent from the chairs outside, and very good from several vantage points inside.
The cabin was very clean inside. A previous reviewer had mentioned bugs. We only saw an ant during our visit, and of course, we could have brought it in with our ;luggage or groceries. The mattresses are very firm (not a criticism, but a description).
Overall, a really great place to stay..
The only things I'd recommend are:
1. Better mark the slight step from the living room to the first bedroom. Each of us tripped over it.
2. Label a few more of the light switches.
3. Include a note in the Owner's cookbook that copies can be purchased at the Visitors center in Dahlonega. We only found it by happenstance.

We stayed here with another couple. Thank goodness we are family or it would have been awkward to walk through one bedroom to have to get to the other. That should be in bold print on their information . We were also all creeped out that there were cameras all over the outside of the house. I am fairly certain there is a law now that they are not allowed to have those without putting it on their information. It was creepy and made us look closely inside the house thinking there could be cameras inside as well. The cabin was clean; however, there were roaches in the kitchen and the bathroom. Also, when you walk in the front door you see a giant rodent trap outside the door. It is a great location with a beautiful waterfall and the discription was accurate regarding the walk from the parking lot I wouldn’t stay there again ever.

Highly recommend!!
We loved it and will do it again!!

We had an incredible time at the Waterfall Cottage! The cottage is small and very cozy, but the location near the waterfall is absolutely incredible. The sound of the waterfall is nature's white noise! While some guests commented about the parking not being close to the cottage, it is not a challenging walk and allowing vehicle any closer would take away from the remote, natural beauty of the cottage grounds.
We will definitely stay here again!! Enjoy!!

We enjoyed our stay. It is a very beautiful and unusual location, within a camp with waterfall. Everything we needed was provided, from shampoo, coffee and dura logs.
Only recommendation I would have is to provide information on the description that you had to go through one bedroom to get to the other or use the bathroom. Not a problem for families but might be for friends.
Otherwise, a perfect place to spend your time.

We are a 70 year old couple who had one of the most relaxing stays that we have ever had at Tim & Dianne's. I surprised my Bride with with several nights at this wonderful cabin with breath taking views of the waterfall. Tim & Dianne were extremely accommodating with several request for our stay. The cabin is very quaint and had all the accommodations that we could ask for. We enjoyed sitting on the screened porch every morning listening to the waterfall and creek flowing along with the sounds of the birds. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a wonderful escape form the hustle and bustle of every day life !! Thank you again Tim & Dianne !!

We’ve rented several cabins in the North Georgia Mountains. This was by far the best. The Waterfall was so beautiful, the cabin was clean, beautiful and very comfortable. Each morning we woke up, looked right outside the cabin and seen at least 6 to 8 deer walking up a trail. We saw birds at the birdfeeder and several big squirrels. Wish we could have spent more time there and hopefully can return for another pleasant stay. Thanks for sharing your place with us. I would rate it a 10 out of 10. Wish we had a small wagon to get everything carried up to the cabin with less trips back and forth to the car.

Everything about the place was perfect. My son even said he could live here year round!

The location of this cabin in second to none, with your own personal waterfall 100 feet from your front door. The cabin is secluded, while at the same time only 5 mins from downtown Dahlonega, which looks straight out of a Hallmark movie. Our trip was fantastic!

The property was beautiful, as well as the falls. The walk with luggage and groceries and things like that were difficult from the parking lot across the foot bridge to the cabin. We did enjoy our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was private, quiet, and always had the relaxing background noise of the flowing water from Cane Creek Falls. We enjoyed its proximity to several good wineries and vineyards, and Dahlonega’s town square. Instructions and correspondence from the owners were proactive and we had no issues getting into the property or the rental. When we are in the area again we will absolutely look to see if it is available.

We came to the area for an event at the camp and was so excited to book this cabin. It literally was perfect. The cabin was cute, cozy, and comfortable. We spent probably 2 or 3 hours soaking up the sights and sound of the falls one morning.
If you are looking for beautiful surrounding and enjoyable living space, this is the place.
Also owner was very easy to communicate with, offered information freely, and gave clear instructions.
Highly recommend!!

Very nice 2 bedroom cabin facing Cane Creek Falls.
A/C, comfortable king sized bed, sofa & love seat. Because of the soothing sounds of the falls, we chose to stay there each evening and prepare our dinners there while enjoying wine & cheese.
So peaceful is this falls cabin property.
We will be back.

The cutest little cabin with the best backyard! Communication was great. The property managers were very helpful. This was my husband and I’s first vacation with our 10 month old (plus a babysitter) and this cabin was perfect for the four of us. Some things to note: you walk through the master bedroom to get to the second bedroom/ bathroom and screened in porch. This wasn’t a problem for us but make sure you actually like and are comfortable with people you’re staying with. Also if staying with very small children not having a washer/dryer on the property is not ideal. This is clearly stated in the description and is no fault of the owners but just not something that I thought of as a first time mom so I thought I would mention it in case there are any other moms of littles looking. Lol Overall, I would definitely stay here again and have recommended it to all of my friends and family.

The Cane Creek Waterfall is just steps from the front door. It is the most incredible VRBO location we have ever stayed.
The waterfall can be seen from both bedrooms, living room/front door, and screened in porch. My husband and daughter probably caught 40-50 trout in the 3 days we were there. (Catch and release, by the way)
The cabin is CLEAN so if you worry about germs, don't. Spotless. Immaculate. No bugs like in some cabins or wooded areas. No spider webs on the back porch (like we've experienced in other cabin rentals.)
Lots of HOT WATER in the showers. You never run out.
Everything is supplied. The owners have thought of everything.
No drawn out lists of check-out items. The only requirements are to wash your dishes and bring your trash to the dumpster on your way out of the property (super easy and not at all inconvenient). We have stayed at VRBOs that make you wash your own sheets. This check-out process was easy-peasy and a DREAM!
The owners are SUPER attentive, and we could not have been more pleased. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
If you have children, it is important to note that to get to their bedroom and bathroom, they have to walk through the master bedroom. Due to this, the master bedroom doors do not lock. So parents, if you are looking for "romantic time", you need to get creative. ;)
Location to town is an easy ride (not hilly or winding). About a 5 minute drive.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
ABSOLUTELY BOOK!
1,000% GORGEOUS AND UNFORGETTABLE!

Great location in Dahlonega. Easy to get to the wineries and downtown. Cabin had all the amenities needed for a great stay. Can’t beat the view and the screened in patio was great for relaxing. The walk from the parking to the cabin is easier than it seems. It was easy to get in and out of the camp grounds. Can’t say enough about the views and sounds from the falls.
Only recommendation would be having blackout curtains on the bedroom windows.

We just wanted to get away and relax for the weekend and this place couldn’t have been more perfect. The only sound you’ll hear, is the sound of the waterfall that is only a stones throw away. Everything you need to cook at the house or there is a great selection of restaurants 5 minutes away.

The warerfall is very close, maybe 100 yards from your front door. You could spend all day there. Access is very easy to the creek and waterfall. You cannot park close to the house. Was not a big deal to us, but there is a bit of a walk from a gravel lot, across a foot bridge, uphill on a trail to get to the house. Downtown is only like 8 minutes away. Great spot

My family and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We made a small fire, grilled out with the sound of the falls, and just generally enjoyed hanging around the grounds. Great location as well, as it is very easy to access things to do such as downtown Dahlonega or get into nature at, say, Amicalola.
