About this apartment rental
Kemptown Apartment is in Brighton city centre, looking out onto an historic garden square with the sea beyond. Whether you prefer the hustle and bustle of a thriving city or enjoy a romantic retreat, this Apartment will fit your needs perfectly. It takes just 2 minutes to walk to the beach. Shops, delicatessens, restaurants, bars and pubs are seconds away. You can walk to the famous Pavilion, Brighton Pier and The Lanes & North Laine for fabulous shopping in just 5 minutes. Everything is accessible by foot – there’s no need for a car in Brighton.
This Apartment is situated on the second floor of a Grade 2 Listed Regency building (circa 1825), built as a Hotel and continuing as such until the 1980s when it was converted into apartments. The majority of buildings on this square remain hotels as the location is so central. In the Apartment you'll find an entrance hall with entry phone, living room with 2 sofas (one converts to a bed), dining table seating 4 in a curved bay window overlooking the garden square. From here you can people watch or gaze at the sea with white sail yachts tacking across the water, seagulls whirling past the window. The living room is filled with light. Sit in the sunlight or watch dramatic stormy weather whilst enjoying your breakfast. A compact and well equipped kitchen leads off the living room. Here you’ll find everything you need for your food preparation whether cooking a meal from scratch or heating something in the microwave. The bedroom is generous and there's a Queen size bed (5') with crisp white linen, cushions and throws. The bedroom looks out across a romantic roofscape and the sun streams in during the afternoon. A clean white bathroom with large shower, large basin and WC leads off the hallway. Central heating and continuous hot water will keep you warm and cosy and are included in the rental price along with your linen and fluffy white towels. Free wi-fi is included so you can keep in touch with friends.
For those who don’t know Brighton, it was made popular by George IV Prince Regent (1820-30) commissioning John Nash to build him a Pavilion as his seaside retreat to support his extravagant lifestyle and pursuit of pleasure. New Steine (the garden square the Apartment is on) was built to meet a growing demand for hotels by Royal followers who came to party and ‘take the waters’. As our building was a hotel at that time, who knows who may have stayed here!
Brighton is a year-round seaside destination retaining its reputation for fun and culture. Buoyed by 2 Universities and boasting 12 theatres, 20 art galleries and 30 nightclubs it also has more restaurants per head outside London and a celebrated gay scene. You could easily while away a few days looking at Brighton's 3450 listed(historic)buildings, or window shop with its mix of mainstream outlets, independent boutiques and antique shops. The biggest arts festival in England is held here in May and something's going on every month throughout the year.
Brighton has a funky creative energy and is quintessentially English. Whatever your age, there's something for everyone in Brighton.
By basing yourself here, you can explore the South Coast and save money on London Hotels by travelling on the train in under an hour. Brighton station is 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by taxi. Trains arrive at London Victoria running several times an hour all day every day. If you fancy a day trip to France, there’s a bus on the doorstep taking you to Newhaven where you can hop on a ferry. Gatwick Airport is nearby, for flights to all European destinations. Brighton Marina offers boating and fishing trips and there are windsurfing and sea-kayaking schools on the beach. Brighton has so much to offer it's too much to list so Google the City and see what you fancy doing- the world's your oyster. And you can always just kick back, listen to music, read, explore the local pubs, and most importantly, relax.
The Apartment is on the second floor of a Regency building, there are 6 steps up to the front door and 2 further flights of stairs to the Apartment(2 floors up from ground level). Unfortunately there is no lift. We must mention that because of the property's central location there's sometimes a little noise from people walking home after a night out. When you arrive you sill be able to collect the keys from a shop near to the station. If you're driving, there's a handy loading bay opposite where you can stop. If you think you are going to arrive after 9pm, let us know and we will leave the key at a 24 hour shop.
Parking is either on meters outside the flat where you can park by the day, or by daily visitor permits - please enquire if you need more details.
Brighton is very popular year-round for weekend breaks and this is reflected in the weekend short stay price. Midweek short stays and bookings for a full week or longer represent very good value.

Nice flat, well equipped and excellent location.

I think the title sums it up but the location was perfect. Walking distance to the beach and an area that was at the center of everything but still a bit quieter/nicer than some areas. I usually don’t sleep well when not in my own bed but that bed was pretty comfortable.

Perfect location to explore the fun vibrant city! Would recommend, hopefully book again soon!

This is the second time I have stayed at this property & it’s a very good space. It has a comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, great dining/work space in front of fantastic windows with great ventilation & looking out on the park!
The location is unbeatable for Brighton activities, the beach, bike rentals, etc.
Note that this is a walk up. I appreciate usted the stairs & it’s well illuminated at night. And, there is not AC. The breeze was lovely but sometimes the street noise is a bit much with the windows open. Despite this, I would stay again!

Great apartment with interesting view to small park and the sea. Lot‘s of Brighton highlights in walking distance. Would like to come back soon!

My husband and I stayed at this cute well appointed little flat while visiting our daughter who lives in Brighton. It was a very comfortable and cozy place to spend our week and we enjoyed our time there. The owners were great to work with and answered our inquiries in a timely manner. The location couldn’t have been better! It’s within walking distance to amazing restaurants and all of Brighton's local attractions! We enjoyed the view of the ocean, the green belt park area just across the street and let’s not forget about the heavenly ocean breeze!
Staying in this cute little flat adds a great local flair while staying in this lovely seaside town! I’d stay at this flat again in a heartbeat!!!!

We needed a central location for a wedding and this was the perfect place. The Flat itself is great with everything you'll need for a nice stay in Brighton. The family thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely look to book again when we next head down.

Had a lovely stay. Host was great and quickly responded to any questions. Great location for getting to the beach. Convenient grocery store just around the corner. Loved having a view of the ocean.

We came here to see a concert of Johnny Marr at Brigthon Dome that weekend and took a trip to the Seven Sisters Country Park next day.
Apart from the fact that the apartment is very nicely equipped and offers a beautiful view, the location cannot be beaten. Within 10 minutes you can walk to the beach, the Palace Pier, the Brighton Dome and many shops and restaurants. We'd love to come back.

We spent 4 nights in the apartment and we had a great time. The location is great. Very well equipped and great communication with Jess. The bedroom is absolutely perfect and very comfortable. The bed in sofa is not very confortable pour 2 teenagers (tall) but it stays a sofa. The situation is perfect with all you need just down the street (great fishχps). We loved our stay. Thanks again Jess.

This was a good location for visiting Brighton - walking along the pier was a nice way to end the day and local amenities were close by. Buses to other sites of interest run nearby - the Seven Sisters Country Park was an easy trip and worthwhile visit. Having the check in information a few days in advance was helpful because it is not at the site of the flat.

I can’t fault this property. Such a great location and very well equipped. I wish I could have stayed longer. I look forward to booking this again when I next return to Brighton.

We have stayed in a lot of places and this one is, all round, a truly excellent holiday let : perfect location, reasonable price, tasteful decor, warm, comfortable and well-equipped. Owner is responsive and helpful with a sensible arrangement for key collection. We've only ever done day-trips before but will hope to stay here again for more exploring and living the Brighton life. Loved it!

Property was very comfortable, well located and had excellent sea views.
On negative side parking was difficult.

Initially the property seemed to be good but in the evening we couldn't get any heating on, it was late so wrapped ourselves in the duvet. When we went to bed we placed coats and jumpers on the bed to keep warm. Next day we contacted host who gave us a number to ring but no response. After another phone call she sent someone who had a try but couldn't get it working either so it was another cold night! The next day we went into Brighton and decided to stay out till bedtime and kept warm in coffee shops and a bar. When we did return 2 portable heaters had been left. Sorry, too late!! Left early next morning.

Very nice place to stay! Good communication with property management who provided great amounts of information on the whole area in and around Brighton. The flat has all the extras of home - very well equipped kitchen, spacious living room and bedroom, well appointed bathroom.
Great location with plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants nearby; plus a very fine Indian restaurant only steps from front door. Grocery stores close by too. Easy walking distance to the Pier and The Lanes.
If you have heavy luggage - beware! 40+ steps from street level to flat's front door.
Picking up keys was a bit convoluted, ending in an 17GBP taxi ride from station to flat.
Overall: great location, made even better with the great weather we enjoyed. Recommended.

A lovely flat to stay in, clean, well equipped, lots to do in the area. I would definitely return to this property again.

Nice historic part of Brighton, nice Gardens outside, shops, pubs almost at your door, not far to walk to Brighton Pier. Plenty to do and see.
It's our 1st visit to Brighton we came to see The Who but stayed 3 nights.
Liked the views from the apartment and great for people watching.
Vrbo discription says 2 flights of stairs, there are 4 flights obviously historic buildings have much taller ceilings so maybe this is why there are 4 flights of stairs.
There were a few problems with cleanliness (oven etc) and the printed welcome pack was stained and old (1st impressions) but the owners have apologised and say they are getting a deep clean done so should all be good. The Towels weren't fluffy (as in discription) and I couldn't see what's romantic.
It's a shame because we will visit Brighton again but just not sure of where we'd stay now.
Download the Taxi app on your phone, it's so easy to book a taxi, we used 202020 Taxi company.
Brighton is worth the visit though.

Very convenient for getting into town and right near the beach
Area was quite busy so not the quietest of locations but all in all a good weekend away

Owner freindly and helpful. Flat better than expected, cosy, comepletely modernised. Loud traffic, parking in Brighton is a catastrophy but there are more buses than taxis. If you don't like pubs and never eat out holiday somewhere else.

Loved this apartment! It was clean, cozy, and simply but tastefully decorated. Very comfortable. Our son was able to join us for an eat-in meal at the dining table. Loved the proximity to restaurants and a grocery and the beach. Bus stop right down the street took us out to Seven Sisters Country Park for a short hike too! Highly recommend for a couple.

We decided to visit Brighton at long last, and chose our apartment with care...we were not disappointed at all. The flat is very well appointed, and comfortable. Its location is fabulous, right at the heart of the eclectic mix of Kemptown, its shops, restaurants and cultures. It is only a 2 min walk to the main esplanade, and pier. The sea is visible from the sitting-room, and we were greeted with the rising sun over breakfast. Apart from Brighton's main features, there are many wonderful places to visit in close proximity...we loved it!

very nice apartment, perfect for 2-4 persons, best location in Brighton, near pubs, shops and beach

This was a really wonderful property with a great view! Very clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. A bit tight for space with a family of 4 (with teenagers) but would be very spacious for a couple. Location however was fantastic to walk along the pier and to the many wonderful shopping areas. Locating the key pickup point was initially a bit confusing as it was in a convenience store but once we found it and picked them up we had no issue making our way to the apartment. It was a really nice touch to find a guestbook and add our family to the list of guests. It was also very handy to have a grocery store right across the street. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
