About this cabin rental
Free Wifi – Twain Harte Lake Access – Four Bedroom / Two Bath – Sleeps 8 Comfortably, Sleeps 10 With Sofa Bed – Big Screen HD Cable TV – Large Driveway – Yosemite National Park Nearby – Dodge Ridge Ski Area – No Smoking
This vacation rental cabin in Twain Harte, CA has been in our family for generations & we’ve been renting for over a two decades. It was one of the first homes built in the Twain Harte area, and we've worked to preserve the knotty pine and the traditional style elements that have always made it feel like a warm, rustic welcome to the California Gold Country, even as we've kept the kitchen appliances, furniture, and decorations updated for modern tastes and needs.
Our Twain Harte lodging comfortably fits eight to ten people.
We provide blankets and pillows, along with the first roll of toilet paper and paper towels. There are complimentary sheets, pillow cases, & 10 shower towels. Please bring shampoo/conditioner, or other personal hygiene products.
BEDROOMS:
This cabin has four bedrooms, along with a queen-size pull out sofa in the living room for adventurous children and unexpected guests. Room One, which is at the front of the cabin, has one queen bed; Room Two offers two twin beds and is located in the back of the cabin. Room Three is a loft bedroom that's ideal for kids, boasting two twin beds, a small TV, and access through a steep ladder that keeps the loft feeling like a secret hideaway. Keep watch on your kids in Room Four, which includes one queen bed, a small TV, the ladder to the loft, and its own door to the side deck. Note: This room is used to access the loft, so you lose a bit of privacy.
BATHROOMS:
There are two full bathrooms in this spacious vacation rental, one of which is accessible from the house. The second bathroom is in the basement, which requires going outside and under the deck, but makes washing up when you've just returned from a long day of exploration much easier. Both bathrooms have a toilet, shower, and sink, and the basement bathroom has a complimentary washer and dryer, though neither bathroom is equipped with a bathtub. The tank-less water heater gives you endless hot water for your showers, but please try to keep your showers short, so that you can help your temporary neighbors in Tuolumne County fight California's current drought.
OTHER AMENITIES:
The living room features a stereo system for your music, and a 47-inch big screen HD TV with Comcast cable to keep you up to date on all your favorite shows. You'll also have access to free, high speed Comcast Wi-Fi throughout the house. The cabin's land line offers unlimited free calling to local numbers and businesses; for long distance or toll calls, you'll have to use your cell phone.
The paved driveway has plenty of space for all the vehicles you'll bring, whether you drive to Twain Harte in multiple cars or SUVs or take your trailer, a short RV, or a boat on vacation with you.
There is no air-conditioning installed; instead, we can offer you a variety of ways to bring the natural, pine-scented mountain breezes into every corner of the cabin, including two ceiling fans in the living room and a selection of portable fans for the rest of the house.
KITCHEN:
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the basic cooking utensils, silverware, plates, cups, toaster, coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave oven, blender, garbage disposal, high chair, and soap you'll need. Just bring your own food to cook on the gas stove, your own coffee, tea, or cocoa to brew before going out for the day or staying in for a long, luxurious evening, or some charcoal and fluid for the charcoal BBQ waiting out on the spacious deck.
There is no dishwasher, but if you're washing up your daily dishes at the sink when dusk falls, you may notice that some of the local deer, birds, and squirrels are coming out just behind the deck to pay you a visit. If you give them some cracked corn and peanuts, you may be able to charm them into coming by every evening to liven up your dish-washing routine!
Coming soon we hope to have some Tree house Rentals,
Beach Houses, Lake houses, Glamping Options, Tiny houses and Campers & RV's!

The cabin was a little smaller than we would have preferred, that was understandable, considering the age of the property
It was very hot in Twain Harte as advertised the property did not have AC but several fans to move around the air. But that did not work very well since it did not cool down at night.
The location was great and as advertised

We seven senior adults enjoyed our week at Twain Harte. The difficulty of one bathroom being in the basement was minor. Because of unseasonably hot weather air conditioning would have been nice. The cabin was immaculately, clean and ready for us when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake and the delightful town of Twain Harte.

We had a great time. The house was clean and comfortable and the owner was in touch right away when I had a question.

We slept well in this nice cabin. It has a warm homey feel. It is well maintained with a good shower.

The property was very clean and well appointed a very enjoyable stay and easy to be there

It was an enjoyable stay and everything went smoothly.

Perfect place for two of us and the grandkids. I like the self-cleaning option and wish more properties offered it.

We were traveling with three adults and three kids under the age of seven. We really appreciated that this property felt very easy-going and laid-back. Nothing fussy or precious to worry about with the kids.
Great location, very quick, three minute drive to the lake, walk to the park or downtown. It was very hot and although there is no AC in the cabin, there were plenty of fans in each room. It cooled off at night, and we slept with the windows open.
The beds were all very comfortable, and the bedding was lightweight and cotton for the summer.
There were some toys and books for the kids. We ate outside on the deck most evenings and it was beautiful.
The owners are very easy to communicate with and get back to you right away.
If you’re looking for simple accommodations in the Twain Harte area at a good price, this is your spot.

We enjoyed our stay in this home because it was convenient to visit with the people we came to Cali to meet. There is plenty of beds and rooms however a bit cluttered.I do not know how well the previous renters cleaned before we got there because it needed more cleaning especially the carpet & vacuum cleaner. Over all for the price point of location I'd recommend this property to others.

We enjoyed our stay and had all the amenities needed to make it comfortable. We loved the location and would love to return for a longer stay in the future!

I had a wonderful time, would definitely like to go again

Enjoyed our stay at this cabin with family. Cabin was very clean, spacious for a big group. Our kid had fun in the loft bedroom. Overall very nice experience to crash for a night and have fun with family

We had a great weekend at the cabin! Craig was awesome keeping us updated with weather conditions and was very helpful with any questions I had throughout the trip. The only downside to our trip was all of us sharing one bathroom (we had to go outside to access the extra bathroom and it was flooded from the storm) other than that everything was wonderful!! We would definitely recommend this cabin & the owners to anyone!!

Eleven daughters, granddaughter and 1 great grandson, 5 months old, stayed at the house and we took in Pioneer Woman facility up north, then went to Tulsa the next day!! Had a grand time, lots of laughing, playing games and good old fashioned talking!! The house was comfortable, had everything we needed and the mattresses were so comfortable, it was like sleeping on a cloud!! Thank you so much!!!

We had a great time at the cabin. You have the option to get a cleaning service or clean yourself. If you choose the service you have to do it before the check in. We ended up cleaning ourselves, but it was not a lot of work anyways.
The TV had access to services - very much appreciated by my kids :-)

Up close Deer, squirrel, birds, trees, the whole nine! Loved the sounds, and/or silence of the area. Cabin has tons of seating in and out. Plenty of beds, lots of kitchenware, really close to town. Climate control keeps warm/hot, lots of fans too. Kitchen stays colder than the rest of the cabin. Beds and couches were comfy, showers were descent size and nice to use. Wifi worked well. No complaints.

Would definitely book again.

I enjoyed staying at this quaint cabin. There was plenty of room for our group. The bottle of wine and chocolate were a nice touch. We had to make our own beds and one of the double beds had a twin fitted sheet instead of a full.

This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. Perfect for
family celebrations away from the hustle of life. The deer come through the property twice a day and they love carrots. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We will definitely return.

I’m new to VRBO, like brand new. Craig’s instructions were crystal clear, and when I wasn’t sure about something, his response times were spot on! To me, a property is just a property, it’s all about the customer service, Craig nailed that!

Overall a great experience! The downstairs bedrooms were nicely located and comfy. The loft was not used by us - too hard to climb up for the kids (one of which sleepwalks) and with the heat wasn’t a good idea… kitchen was nicely laid out and dishes/glasses/refrigerator were clean. The microwave was not clean and the trash can still had someone else’s trash in it. We were not made aware of a planned power outage, which left one of us in the middle of a shower and me still cooking breakfast… a heads up would have been appreciated. The outside space was great in the evenings! We ate our dinners out there comfortably and saw lots of deer!

Affordable stop in Sierra Nevada mountainside
Good check in and directions, no issues getting in. This is a property that draws you outside, it has gorgeous decks and surrounds. The town and the area were the appeal for us.
We appreciated the owner offering the choice of paying for cleaning or DYI cleaning (making/stripping beds, vacuuming, mopping, taking out trash). This place is a very affordable solution, so you get your towels from a single basket vs pre-placed in the bathrooms etc. But it has all the amenities like BBQ, TVs, and lots of seating. As others note, the 2nd bathroom is downstairs and accessible by going outside, so we opted to use only the main in-house bathroom and shower. This is a an older cabin and as such some of the doors clash (like bathroom and shower doors) making it a tight fit into the shower. But it all works, and again, has lots of beds and seating areas.
So we gave it 3-stars overall. The cleanliness, location, and check-in are all 5-stars. And the value is 5-stars, but the overall when comparing to other properties is 3-stars.
We very much enjoyed our stay and appreciated the fast owner replies to all our questions. Thanks!

Perfect for our family
Was a perfect place for us while visiting family.

We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen. We only needed a place for one night on our way back from Yosemite.

The code for the property did not work, when I tried to call I found several different numbers listed, 2 of which did not work. Once I contacted the property owner, he continue to give me a code that was not working. Also he had listed that there were towels to use but it took us about 15 minutes to find them. They were not in the restroom or in the bedrooms they were in a basket that was in a corner that had a blanket on top of it. When you have been hiking all day and its dark you want to easily check-in and shower you do not feel like dealing with all these issues. It was 45 minutes before we got settled because of all the lack of communication.
