About this house rental
This 3 bedroom 1 bath house is located in private Briggs Farm. The Great Salt Pond stretches 4 miles long and offers endless opportunities for fishing, quehoging, swimming and kayaking. There are three beautiful beaches within three miles of the house, each offers a different experience. Walk the docks of an operational fishing village and buy lobster right off of the fishing boats! The Block Island Ferry is just 4 miles away and brings you to a great island adventure- don't forget to bring your bikes! If fishing is your thing, there are daily charter boats available or private charters for the whole family, Block Island sound offers fantastic Striped Bass fishing. Children love Adventure Land which offers batting cages, go karts, bumper boats and miniature golf. The beaches offer all day long sun and surf for boogie boarding, sand castle building or just relaxing on the beach. Return to the central air conditioned beach house and have the kids experience the excitement of the outdoor shower while you warm up the gas grill on the patio for the 2 lb. lobster! This three bedroom, 1 bath house is vinyl sided with a beautiful kitchen and appliances as well as a very clean bathroom and freshly painted bedrooms. Watch the large flat screen TV on those hot nights while the central air cools you down. There is a washer and dryer as well. The house sleeps 5-7 comfortably. Bring your bikes because there is a 8 mile long bike path through Narragansett, if you are unable to bring the bikes, there is a rental shop in town. This is a perfect summer vacation. Overall we loved the location. We are hosts ourselves and we felt a few tweaks to the place would help with guest satisfaction. When we arrived, it was extremely hot, so we had to crank the AC. There were minimal amenities, so we had to go get coffee every morning because there was only a keurig and no keurig cups. A coffee maker is a must have. We had very few towels, no shampoo, one ply toilet paper, etc. There were visible bug traps and the home wasn’t super clean. The host was very responsive, but it just felt like they were not totally ready to host or unable to provide decent amenities. The small things make a big difference, and the location gives it potential, so it’s worth the extra attention to those issues.

We were able to stay at this wonderfully quaint place in Narrangansett for the Labor Day Weekend. It has all the household items needed to feel like a home away from home. The location is close to everything, 5 mins to any shopping needs, beach or fishing location! We were able to take the little ones on a nice walk around the neighborhood nightly. It’s super safe and quiet.

Property was exactly as described. Perfect location for hitting the beach and venturing into Newport/Providence for the day. Great location outside of the hustle and bustle to attend the Folk Fest. Nice little private backyard with games in the shed. Very much enjoyed the outdoor shower while gazing at the stars.

Comfortable and convenient
My wife and her daughter and grandson had a great time during our stay at John’s place at 89 Palm Beach Ave. The house was comfortable and very clean and convenient to Scarsborough and Narragansett Beach. The kitchen had whatever you needed and the outdoor shower with changing room was a hit. The property had a private backyard where we had several cornhole games on the boards that were there. Laundry was easy and the AC worked great during the hot, hot weather. Can’t say enough good things about the place, and John was very accessible and helpful for the couple of questions we had.

Great little home! John, the owner, was very proactive with communication and responsive, when I needed to contact him. His place was as advertised. In addition to the amenities provided in the home, the location and neighborhood were ideal. We enjoyed out stay and this was a great location to visit the local beaches, as well as traveling over to Newport for day trips. The house was clean, nicely decorated. Simple, tidy, clean, excellent location
My wife and I stayed at Briggs Farm for a week in July. For two of those days another couple joined us.
The house is nice--clean, simply furnished. (Bring your own books.) The kitchen is up-to-date and everything works well. The house has a secluded backyard with lots of birds and a few rabbits. We saw a deer one day.
The location is terrific--a short drive (or a 15-20 minute bike ride) to downtown Narragansett, in a pleasant, leafy development dating from the 1950s-60s, I'd guess. It's a short drive (or a 10-15 minute bike ride) to Scarborough Beach, a lovely public beach open to Rhode Island residents and non-residents alike. Bicycling is terrific. Point Judith Road, the 4-lane highway that you'll take to get to Briggs Farm, has a very wide shoulder that makes for safe cycling.
The ferry to Block Island is a pleasant (less than half-an-hour) bike ride away. If you bring your bikes it's a nice excursion to bike to the ferry and bring your bike to Block Island.
We had a great time. The house is not large--for two couples it was cozy and pleasant. If we'd had three couples, we might have felt a little cramped.
What could have been even better? John, the owner, is very nice and was quick to pick up the phone when I called with questions. I'd suggest that he put out some information with local recommendations. Also, explain how the front door lock works. Getting in was easy. But several times we left the house asssuming that the keypad doorlock would lock itself. It doesn't--and it took us some head-scratching and a number of tries before we figured out how to lock the door behind us.
It would also be helpful to know beforehand that, while there are kayaks on the property, there isn't a nearby spot to put them in the water, so you'll need to load them onto your car to make that happen. It would have been helpful to leave some recommendations about how to do that--and some guidance about where to put the kayaks in the water. John gave me information over the phone, but it would be nice to have that information on paper.
Again, our overall experience was very positive. We had a lovely time here and would gladly return again.

Charming and comfortable home
The house was wonderful after I cleaned it, including dusting and cleaning the living room tables, cleaning the stove top, washing back door grime, green mold on outside shower, bathroom shower tracks, and baseboards. I don't blame the property owner, who was very nice; shame on the cleaning company.
