This 3 bedroom home is centrally located on Lake Tahoe's West Shore in Tahoe City and features beautiful forest views and upgrades throughout the house. Our Elegant Getaway is pet-friendly and has a loft perfect for catching up on your work or for overflow sleeping. Located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City's Sunnyside area. It is the perfect place to relax and getaway, yet still be close enough to modern conveniences.
The main level of the home features an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and living area, expansive windows and a stunning river rock gas fireplace. It's great for spending time with family and entertaining. If you walk just up the stairs you'll find a nice loft with a small workspace and a game table. Downstairs you will find 3 bedrooms, including a large master suite with a King bed, a bedroom with a Queen bed, and a kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds.
Walk a short distance to the top of the road to see expansive views of Lake Tahoe and enjoy miles of trails leading to the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Summer guests will enjoy being close to restaurants, beaches, and hiking trails, as well as the bright and cheery interior. My husband and I, and our puppy Grizzly, absolutely loved staying at the Elegant Gateway in Tahoe City. The location is close to hiking trails, and just a short walk to the lake, or the Truckee river. There is also a bike trail right down the hill from the cabin that we used a lot because it takes you anywhere you want to go. The actual cabin was very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed during our two weeks stay. We also truly loved the fact that the backyard was fenced in, so our puppy was able to play and enjoy being off leash. The neighborhood was quiet, especially during the week, when there were't too many tourists. Bonus points: the amazing 180 degrees view of Lake Tahoe just up the hill, at the end of the road. Jenefer was amazing in helping us extend our stay with an extra day, and have a later check-out time. This is our second time renting this cabin, and are definitely planning to come back!

This was our third vacation rental in Tahoe City, and definitely the cleanest and best-equipped. We prepared most of our meals, and the kitchen offered everything we needed, including a water bowl for the dogs. There were basics like oils & spices, which is not a given in a rental.Although there's no clear view of the lake (we knew that) the flip side is that the house is well shaded, so in hot weather, if you are strategic about opening windows and closing shades, the house can stay comfortable (it was nearly 90 a few days). The bedrooms are downstairs and are cooler than the main living area.Parking was ample. The wifi was a bit weak, but I believe that's true everywhere in the area. The fenced back yard was a great bonus if you have a dog that likes to chase a ball.Negative: The property behind the house has a floodlight on their property; if you're a light-sensitive sleeper, you'll want to draw the shades, which means you restrict fresh air when it's warm out.I'll conclude by emphasizing the cleanliness of this home, the quality construction and outfitting, and the ample natural lighting in the main living area. The game loft is kinda cool as well.

We had a blast with our dogs in the snow. I love the location of this house. There are amazing trails just a short walk down the road. I will absolutely book this place again. So worth it. Especially with the fenced in yard. So nice to be able to let our dogs romp and play back there. The only thing to note is that there is no entrance to backyard from house. You have to go out front door and walk around to the back. We had to clear a better path to the back gate, then shovel out the gate so we could enter the backyard. We visited when there was a lot of snow and even more dropped while we were there. It was magical. Loved it!

Beautiful home in a gorgeous location
My wife, dog, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and clean. The location was perfect: it was a short walk to everything we needed, including trails that led to the Tahoe Rim Trail. The backyard was perfect for our dog. We received over 2 feet of snow in one night and the snow removal service of the neighborhood was on top of things. The property manager was quick and courteous to all our inquiries. No complaints and we would happily recommend this location and the property manager to anyone.

Great location and nice property!
We loved this house. The beds were comfy, there was plenty of space, the kitchen was well stocked (but there was no salt), the TV had many channels, we would have loved to have the fireplace work (but it wouldn’t turn on), the house was close to town, Granlibakken resort, and Sunnyside restaurant, Homewood was also not too far. The house also had sleds in the garage for the kids to use and it was nice to be able to park our cars in the garage.
We’ll definitely stay here again, but hopefully next time the fireplace will work and the kitchen will have salt.

My wife and I rented this place for an MLK weekend ski trip with our two teens (plus a friend) and my mother and her partner. The place was just right - very clean, good bedroom/bathroom layout, plenty of space (and light) in the very nice living room, and a very useable and comfortable kitchen. We've rented a lot of weekend places in Truckee/Tahoe City area, and I would definitely put this one near the top - not a boffo luxury place and no one thing was spectacular, but everything was very nice and comfortable and there were no major issues. Particularly for a house that allows dogs (yeah!), I would rank this place very high, and I tend to be fussy and picky (e.g., I get annoyed by too many tchotchkes in a place). I should also add that the location is good - 15 minutes to Alpine on 89 and also close to the backroad to the Sherwood lift.

We stayed here Oct 2020, and loved the cabin. So we came back to Tahoe in Oct 2021 and stayed here again. It snowed the 2nd day and the local area lost the internet for most of the day, but we found their Tivo (remember that thing) with shows recorded on their Tivo hard drive.

This house is very nice. The main level is open and has plenty of seating. The kitchen has the necessities more than covered. Plenty of glasses, dishes, etc. for you to use. The bedrooms are on the lower level, which makes it nice if some people want to stay up while others are still socializing. The garage was wonderful and convenient. It also has amazing windows that let in a lot of light. The wifi was good on the main level, but a little weak downstairs. They also have cable so you can view tv if you are interested. On the negative side, the main level and loft are just to hot to use during the day if the temperatures outside are anywhere near 80. I knew this house did not have air conditioning (like many houses in the Tahoe area) so it was not a surprise. The surprise was exactly how hot the main level got during the day. The same windows that let in so much light, make it a greenhouse during the day. The lower windows on the main level have blinds, but the upper ones don't. The house was so hot we could not use the loft at all during our trip and the main level was not usable the majority of the daytime hours. Once the temperature was below 70ish, you could get enough breeze to use the main level. There are 3 very small fans in the home, but they are not strong/large enough to move enough air to cool the main level. The lower level stays cooler but larger fans would have been wonderful. I would absolutely recommend this house if you are not staying during the warm months. It is a great house with a lovely floorplan. We were there during the 2nd week of September and it was just too hot to fully enjoy it.

First I'd like to say the house was nicely updated, bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen was well supplied from a cooking perspective. Great location. For the most part we had mostly positive things to say about the house itself. However, on the downside. the yard is not attached to the house , which was why we wanted a yard to be able to let dogs out and play and potty, but the access to the yard was from outside the house, and yard was a dirt bowl. The other really negative thing that actually caused us to leave 4 days early was that the house did not have any air ventilation other than windows, and the smoke from the fires was unhealthy, and we could not open windows. So hot air, outside smoke and not air filtration was really deadly for our crew.

This place was perfect for our family. The bear box was full when we got there, but the property management company was very responsive to email.
If you have a dog, there is a fenced yard but no direct access from the house. You have to go out front and around to the gate. Our dog was fine with this, but if yours is a “runner” keep in mind you may need to leash them to get to the yard to go potty.
Our kids loved hiding/playing in a few “cubbies” (storage) the house had. Overall we would rent again.

Nice location with a wonderfully stocked kitchen to cook all meals.
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in Tahoe city. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances/cookware, etc...to make breakfast, lunches and dinners. Plus, the location is just a 3min drive to downtown Tahoe City. My only comment would be to have an AC unit installed. It was a bit warm by 5pm and we couldn't determine how to lower the temp inside. Overall though, great place. Thank you.

Anniversary Getaway
Very comfortable home in great location! It was perfect for 4 adults and two dogs. Especially loved the stunning lake view at the top of the street! The only downside was that we missed out on our first two days of renting due to an unexpected death in the family. Fortunately we were still able to spend a few days in this lovely home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in beautiful Lake Tahoe!

A gem with a wonderful surprise!
This property is lovely. Three of us stayed but room for more.My daughter was able to do an evening zoom in the upstairs loft room. The fenced yard was a great place for our dog to run. There are peeks of the lake. But the biggest surprise was our walk to the end of the street that backs up to forest service property. There are stunning views of the entire lake. We took hikes into the forest too. Our dog lived it too. We would stay here again. The kitchen had everything, the house is very clean and comfortable!! The full windows are beautiful and lovely to look out after a day of skiing. Great home!! We will stay here again!!!
