Overrated

Situated in the city centre. Cheap. Good kitchen

Uncomfortable beds The rooms were extremely warm in the summer. No fans Only AC in the common room. Loud street and poor soundproofing. The furniture in the common room were uncomfortable 50C and hour if you want to store your luggage. Unattentive staff Perhaps one of the less decent hostels I've stayed at.

Good location, shame about the shared bathroom with no privacy for the shower

Very good location within walking distance of both railway station and centre. Smooth check-in, I received a message indicating the digicode for the door, then there was actually someone at reception inside to give me the key to my room and show me around.

Unfortunately I can't give the accommodation a higher rating due to the configuration of the shared women's bathroom. There are 2 toilets with locks, but the shower is simply a glass door directly next to the washbasins. There is a lock on the outside door to the whole bathroom, but if you lock that, nobody else can access the toilets or washbasins. When I did so on the morning of departure to try and have a very quick shower, someone came and started banging on the door yelling at me to open up. They had a deep voice and I initially thought it was a man trying to get in. It was actually quite scary as they were shouting really aggressively. I'm sure they woke up everyone in the hostel (it was 6 a.m. and I'd deliberately tried to be as quiet as possible until then!) I pointed out that if you weren't meant to lock that door, there wouldn't have been a key... the staff hadn't given any particular instructions about it on arrival. The whole thing spoilt my experience of Zagreb. So don't choose this place if you want some privacy when taking a shower (which seems to me to be something quite basic for any accommodation, shared bathroom or not). Or unless you're prepared to have to wait for the toilet if someone else has dared to lock the outside bathroom door!

You need lockers, to fix bathroom and provide laundry.

Good location, between train station and old town. Nice looking hostel, though a bit dark. No free tea or coffee provided, but when asked one of the staff provided a box of tea- I don't know if it was his personally? Could leave luggage after check out, though not in safe area, just in common room.

Only two toilets in men's bathroom one of which had a broken light which was never fixed. Only one shower and has a glass screen so not very private, so some guests locked the bathroom for themselves while they showered leaving nothing available for the rest of us. No laundry service provided, but one staff member said he would try and wash my clothes but after waiting for more than half a day and having tow wear the same underpants and socks for more than a day, I went and found a laundromat. No lockers provided.

Ok, but worth a 6 instead of the 8

The interior design

The hostel really struggled to keep up with basic maintenance. It took 3 days for them to replace a lightbulb, there was a toilet out of order, the shower head fitting of the only shower needs replacing, and the beds creaked so loudly when rolling over that it woke up people.

Great value, great people. A totally entertaining place to stay.

You have to try Daniel’s pasta. He’s awesome and a great cook. Just don’t be in a hurry because he takes his time. But it’s worth waiting for!

Good location but that’s about it

The location was excellent and having my own space was nice

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The shared shower had nowhere to store dry clothes so I had to move to the toilet in a towel and change in there. Additionally there was only one soap dispenser for hand washing across 3 sinks in the toilet which just wasn’t enough.

I could recommend it for warm weather for sure

Location nearby with the city center just perfect. There was a nice guy in the reception, very helpful.

Very old window, it's hard to open and close it properly, so the draft from the window is minus. Because of this, the room was colder than would be comfortable.

Very good location, but not easy to find. Pleasant for short stays.

The location is great! It is very close to the city center and all the attractions. It is well connected with trams, and the main railway station is a 5 min walk away.

I had a late check-in, and there was no staff at the reception when I arrived. The instructions for self check-in that I received were somewhat unclear. Also the entrance to the property is not well marked, so I couldn't find it at first.

Nice experience.

Old style historic place with a cozy ambiance. Furniture was older but eclectic which made the stay unique. Staff were first rate, friendly, kind and helpful. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you need.

Need to have larger towels!

Sehr enttäuschende Unterkunft

- Lage war ganz ok

- direkt an einer lauen Straße, nachts konnte man das Fenster nicht öffnen, Klimaanlage oder Ventilator gab es nicht - Betten haben sehr sehr stark gequietscht, was beim schlafen sehr stört - Badezimmer waren nicht sehr sauber, Männerbad hat stark gestunken und war kaum nutzbar, Frauenbad war ok, Duschen sind mitten im Bad welches man nicht abschließen kann - Küche war ok, nicht einladend zum selbst kochen - sehr laut am Abend, keine Hausregeln oder sonstiges

Good location - right in town

Showers didn’t have a lock on them, not the end of the world but in the morning at around 8.30am I went into the bathroom to shower and the male owner was in there using the toilet and doing his hair. Made me feel really uncomfortable and unsafe as didn’t feel like it was secure to use the shower. Room was boiling and smelly with no air conditioning. No one talked to each other and the vibes were just off. Don’t stay here - I rebooked another place for my next night.

Good location, but some things to improve

The location is very good, right between the city center and the train station.

The room was extremely hot in the summer, so it would be nice to have a fan. The shower was a bit weird, as there was little privacy. And there an extra tax to be paid in the check-in apart from the value on booking.com, which would be nice to have better explained when doing the reservation.

Good cost-benefit and great location to explore the city.

Excellent location and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It is easy to get to the hostel as it is located in the very centre, close to everything you want to see in Zagreb. Also close to the train station and tram connections. Very comfortable beds, the room was spacious and with 4 beds only. Well equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms. The whole hostel is well decorated in a vintage style, matching the old building where it is located.

Unfortunately there was no AC in the room, but there was a fan, which helped to cope with the heat. Another downside is that there were no lockers in the room (only closets that you cannot lock).

Great lil hostel in the center of beautiful Zagreb!

The location was perfect! Everything was easily gotten to by walking or tram. The hostel was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. And it was very warm, so I enjoyed my winter time stay.

Great location, but hard to find

Staff were lovely, super clean, privacy and quiet

There is no lock for the shower cubicle, so anyone can walk in (anyone in the hostel) The actual entrance to the hostel, is difficult to find, as there is no street sign
