About this cottage rental
Come stay at my quiet and tranquil Guest cottage. This unique House is on a dead end street located on the west side of Plum Island Basin. The cottage is located in a small wooded area overlooking the basin and my home with pristine gardens. Plum Island is a unique place with some of the best beaches in New England. It's Just steps away from the a tidal basin, enjoy watching the tide come in and out twice a day. Bring your Kayak for two 6 hour windows of High tide. Awesome Paddle Boarding location! Breath in the cool salt air breeze. It's a small house with a big feel. Vaulted ceilings all around. A nice size open kitchen, with everything you need and a Gorgeous Cherry Wood bar. Seating comfortable for four people. Washer and dryer. Queen Size Bed with a walk in closet. The bedroom is open concept with no door (Similar to a hotel suit). There is a queen pullout bed in the living room. Bamboo flooring. There is an HDTV and a stereo. Wifi provided. You can drive a few miles into beautiful downtown Newburyport where there are many great restaurants, bars and shopping. Just one Mile south is a 9 mile long National Wildlife Reservation with gorgeous beaches and boardwalk trails. Beyond that is State owned Sandy Point Beach overlooking Cranes Castle. This beach is stunning as well ! Plum Island beaches are about a ten minute walk away. Bring your bike for some fantastic biking. You won't want to leave. It is truly a special place.

Steve's house is just lovely. Wonderful location on Plum Island, and all the essentials for a wonderful stay. We couldn't have wished for a better week, or better lodgings. And we both felt that we'd known Steve for years, even though we'd just met.

Steve's cottage is perfect. He has it well stocked with everything you need and it's very comfortable to hang out in. Morning sunrise over the river is so beautiful. We loved walking to the end of the road for sunsets. He lives on the most friendly street and we look forward to talking with his neighbors again next year.
We did a lot of site sightseeing on Plum Island, Newbury, and every Beautiful Beach along the way. We really enjoyed getting takeout from Loretta in Newburyport, Outdoor dining at Bob Lobster and Woodsman's.

Even though we had some rain, Steve’s little slice of Plum Island heaven was warm and cozy! Great location, lotsa places to walk to, and easy to drive to other great spots. The guest house might feel small to some, but we had two adult women and a dog and never felt claustrophobic. Steve was great, available if needed, but still gave us our privacy. The entire time was simply magical!

Perfectly provided 1-2 person attractive small cottage on a small lot on small street, quiet and friendly, but no view. Kitchen has no dish pan nor 2 person coffee maker(
I hate Geuriig). Lots of shade (thank God), and adjoining friendly landlord provides window A/C by July or request.

The guest cottage is very comfortable and Steve is a wonderful host. The location is perfect to enjoy the entire island, Newburyport, and the surrounding shore line - including, most of all, Parker River National Wildlife Refuge - absolutely incredible experience !

My husband and I spent a week at this lovely cottage on Plum Island. Steve supplied everything that was promised and everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The location of the cottage is just right… close to the natural beauty of Plum Island and very close to Newburyport with its many shops and great restaurants. It is also located within an hours drive of many beautiful seaside towns such as Salem, MA, Portsmouth, NH, and Ogunquit, ME.

Could not have been a better deal, considering price, location, and just all-round friendliness of the owner and surrounding neighborhood. Short walks to numerous water and beach views, and Newburyport has numerous and diverse restaurants just a short distance away. The very nearby Parker River National Wildlife Refuge is the icing on this shoreline cake.

Plum Island Cottage
Exactly as advertised this cottage is well equipped and cozy. Water views and a quiet neighborhood to walk, even on the dunes off Avenue K. Close to local restaurants and a short drive to all that Newburyport has to offer. Lots of rabbits in the area to keep one entertained. It's a great place and the owner is very attentive. Go and enjoy "The Cottage".

Perfect beach cottage
What a fantastic cottage on Plum Island. I plan to do it again next summer. The pictures were accurate. The house is an updated 1 bedroom small cottage behind Steve’s house. It had a small porch where I had coffee each morning watching the sunrise, and lots of parking. I worked while I was there and the WiFi was on 100%. It was about a .5 mile walk to beach, we would drop our beach gear off with the car and park back at house, then walk or bike back to beach. I would SUP in high tide right from ramp by main house. The neighbors were so friendly and Steve was a fabulous host.

Lovely getaway
A lovely little house in a great location on the bay side of the island. Loved sitting on the deck and looking at the water. Nicely decorated, simple but comfortable, with plenty of storage and a well-stocked kitchen. Very quiet, at the end of a dead-end street, with friendly neighbors. Steve was an excellent host, very helpful. Would gladly stay here again.

Perfection on Plum Island!
Steve is a super accommodating and welcoming host and he's created a lovely and well-appointed home away from home with this cozy cottage. Plum Island is one of my favorite places and after this last visit it is now more than ever thanks to staying here, where views of stupendous sun rises are a 30 second walk out the door and beautiful sunset viewing is within a 10 minute walk. I've stayed in several rental by owner places and this is probably the best yet. Thank you, Steve!

Quiet Escape
Property was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful private wooded area with sights and sounds of the basin. The sunrises/sunsets were amazing. This little cottage had lots of charm, ample storage and all the amenities to make you feel at home. Friendly neighborhood.
Steve was a great host - always pleasant & friendly. He gave great tips about the island and surrounding area and made sure you had everything you needed during your stay. Beautiful location centrally located for access to everything you would want to do while on vacation in the area. I'm just sad we had to leave :( the week went by too fast!!

A wonderful experience!
This was my husband and my first vacation just the two of us as newlyweds, a honeymoon of sorts. And we are so happy with where we chose to stay! The house was adorably perfect! I ran every morning along the cozy streets of plum island. We biked to the beach every day. The beach was one of the nicest ones we’ve ever been to, and was surprisingly not crowded for the Fourth of July holiday. The house was tucked away and private. The neighbors lovely, and the renter incredibly accommodating and kind. We plan on making Plum Island a regular vacation site.

Welcoming
We had the most relaxing time at the cottage. It was truly beautiful with all the amenities we needed. So warm and inviting. Steve was really a wonderful host. If there was anything we needed all we had to do was ask. The water is just steps away from the house with terrific views. So much to see!

Small, but beautiful
We lived for one week in this wonderful cozy cottage, and loved every day. Big enough for two, quiet near the water's edge, near the town - a wonderful place to get in touch with this part of the US. The only thing we missed was a little table for outside.

My husband and I chose Plum Island and the cottage as a first stop on a summer sabbatical as a place to rest and to be rejuvenated - couldn't have found a better place !! Steve is very accommodating and the cottage was perfect for us - PI beaches were breathtakingly beautiful and very uncrowded in June while we were there - we enjoyed lots of walking and fishing and beach time - gorgeous place!

Sweet alternative to a hotel
Steve was great, friendly, responsive and lives right next door.
This cottage, in a quiet residential lane, is steps to the Merrimack River and about a mile away from the ocean. Also a short drive to downtown Newburyport, which has lots of shops, restaurants and cafes.
The cottage is neat and clean with a nice little galley kitchen. Was able to heat some food we brought and store things in the large refrigerator. Big enough for 2 and with the pullout couch in living room fine for 4 people. A little cramped though.
A mirror in the bedroom would make a nice upgrade to the experience :)
