About this house rental
Welcome to Serenity Place, a haven of peace and comfort as you vacation in the Finger Lakes! This home is located on the west side of Seneca Lake—the largest and deepest of the Finger Lakes—within 15 minutes of the village of Penn Yan and 30 minutes from Watkins Glen. The quiet, dead-end road to the house contributes to the tranquility of the setting. Whether you have a group of two or ten, there's plenty of room for you to vacation in comfort.
Inside the house you will find a roomy kitchen equipped with stainless-steel appliances. With an eat-up island for four and a dining room that seats ten, there’s plenty of indoor seating at meals. If you love dining outside, the deck is just steps away from the dining room, through the patio doors, and has an outdoor dining set and gas grill.
The main floor has a large open cathedral ceiling in the main living area. You can relax in the living room in front of the gas fireplace or the large screen tv with surround sound. There are large windows overlooking the deck and Seneca Lake along with two sets of patio doors to access the deck. The views of the lake from the living room, dining room, and outdoor deck are stunning and expansive!
Tucked behind the main living area are the two main floor bedrooms, both with Queen size beds, and the newly renovated main floor full bath with a tiled shower.
Upstairs you'll find two more bedrooms, both attached to a full bath with a tub/shower. Bedroom 3 has a Queen size bed and is very spacious. Bedroom 4 has a Twin/Double bunk combo.
On the lower floor is a lovely, large family room area with a full sized pool table, ping pong, foosball, TV/DVD player and a lounge area. There are plenty of games, toys and books for the kids and a table to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine while you watch a game or sit up to for a game of your own. This room has sliding glass doors that look over the lake and go out onto the covered patio which has a hot tub and outdoor dining table. Enjoy soaking in the hot tub while you watch the water on the lake!
Bedroom 5 is located in the lower level and has a Queen bed as well as patio doors to the hot tub area.
The clear view to the east gives you the perfect place to catch the sunrise as you sip your morning coffee from the deck or the patio areas. Use the lawn chairs in the grass area by the lake to relax and watch the lake or enjoy a campfire on the lakefront during the evenings. Sit on the upper deck and view the evening lake scenes as you prepare your supper on the deck grill. There are 4 kayaks available for you to use during your stay if you choose to get out on the water. The dock also has a boat hoist available for use to keep a v-bottom boat during your stay.
As a guest, you'll find no lack of things to do around you. Serenity Place is located just off of the Seneca Lake wine trail, and is just minutes away from the Climbing Bines Brewery and hops farm. The Village of Penn Yan is just a few miles down the road and contains dining options, coffee shops, and grocery stores. If you're looking for more options, the City of Geneva has a wider variety of dining venues, grocery options etc.

Accommodations were fantastic. Despite some terrible weather we had everything we needed to entertain adults and 4 kids. The entertaining space downstairs with toys, games, fooseball table, pool table and hot tub were an awesome addition. Great communication from the management company. Beautiful lake views. While our time spent with our children for three nights/4 days was wonderful, The property itself was not as expected. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean however, there is a lot of deep cleaning needed at this home. The windows were dirty, which made viewing the lake, not pleasant from inside. The sliding doors don’t work great, and only a couple had screens which were ripped and dirty, and difficult to slide. The basement area could use a fresh coat of paint, especially going down the stairs. There was ping-pong in a pool table, which was super fun, but the accessories are falling apart and need to be replaced. The home didn’t have a comfy feel to it especially since our stay was during the holiday that would have been a nice touch. There was a sad, looking artificial tree that had two strings of lights on it and one string didn’t work. There were excessive amounts of notes everywhere in the home, which was information included in the email from the property manager via email, as well as in binder. The floors are exceptionally squeaky to the point where it would wake people up sleeping in the nearby bedrooms either below or next to the bathroom on the first and the second floor.
The area is wonderful the town is nearby. The lake is beautiful. Please take these as constructive criticism to give your renters a more pleasant experience. My family and I travel a lot and use VRBO This was not one of our favorites

I was looking for a house that could comfortably hold 5 adults in separate rooms. Serenity place was perfect! Although also good for families with children, there were 5 bedrooms and all had double beds. (Also two addt’l single beds, one a top bunk, that we did not need.)
The pool/ping pong and fuseball tables were all enjoyed. As well as the hot tub, fire pit and kayaks. Truly, everything we needed to have a fun vacation was there.
The location was also fantastic; on the west side of Seneca Lake it was conveniently located to a lot of attractions (Watkins Glen State Park, WG Raceway, towns of WG, Penn Yan, Seneca. And, of course plenty of wineries.)
The house was also spotless! Beautiful decks. Truly, there wasn’t anything missing and we will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful week on the lake. Great location for boating, bike riding on the Keuka Outlet Trail, going out for dinner, & wine tasting. Home had a lot of great amenities and high quality appliances.

We’ll equipped lakefront home. Accommodated 8 adults and a 7-month old child comfortably for 2 weeks. Four adults of our party worked remotely a few days with no Wi-Fi issues. Crib and high chair were obviously a welcome feature for the child. Kayaks a plus. Communication with management was great. They are very responsive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. House was clean and had plenty of space for our group of 10. The view was amazing from the deck and dock. We enjoyed paddling in the kayaks, playing games, cooking family meals together, soaking in the hot tub, and sitting by the firepit at night. We took in several hikes, visited nearby towns, and sampled local wine, beer, and ice cream. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We had an exceptional family vacation at Serenity Place. The property is beautifully situated right on the lake, great amenities. The house is lovely, spacious, and well equipped with everything you need. The management company provided excellent communication, and the check in process was easy.

This house on the lake was absolutely PERFECT for getting away from it all with some friends. The listing was pretty spot-on - nice, easy access to the water, and everything was clean and in good shape. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there was plenty of bedding, towels, etc. Good, quick communication from the owners. Although the neighboring houses are relatively close by, the trees on either side make it feel like you’re alone on the lake.
NOTE: as of our trip in May ‘23, Google Maps was leading us astray - it tried to take us down Hansen Point Rd off of Rte 14, instead of the correct Perry Point Rd, which is about a mile up the road.

Our stay was great, the house was clean and probably the best well stocked from any rental I've ever stayed in! The location was picture perfect and want to come back to stay when it's summer time but I would be weary staying here in the winter, the roads to get back there are very steep and when leaving our stay it was snowing and we had trouble getting out!

Only complaint I have would be the late arrival time (4:00 PM) and the early check out time (10:00 am). Would have liked to be able to get in earlier in the day to unpack & fix dinner.

Perfect property for a platinum milestone birthday celebration for 6 high school friends. Lots of places to sit and talk for hours. Kitchen was open so no one was left out. Living room was comfortable for watching a movie in the evening. Sitting outdoors with the beautiful lake views was a favorite. Lots of beds and bathrooms so everyone was comfortable.

Fun week at the lake! Great location - close to Penn Yan and even closer to ice cream shops and local diner. Interior of house was very clean and well stocked. We had plenty of room for 3 families. Dock was great for swimming, and plenty of places/levels to sit and enjoy the lake. Property manager Joleen was outstanding, and quick to respond to any questions. Thanks for a great week!

We've stayed in a number of VRBOs over the years. This was one of the best. The home has obviously been well taken care of. Hands down the cleanest location we've ever stayed. The property manager is responsive. Oooh, and there's a cute little fox family that lives up the street. We saw them a few times on the road. You will not go wrong renting this home! Highly recommend. A few considerations - google maps does not seem to understand that the road exisits. Turn by the company sign Ferro, not where Google maps takes you!!!
The owners have a lot of local recommendations in the white binder. Make sure to look at it.

Nice early spring vacation site
The location and layout of the house are excellent. We enjoyed the nearby wineries and breweries. Unfortunately, we were a couple weeks early for the change to summer hours and so options were limited on Monday - Wednesday. Conveniently near Ithaca and Corning, but also near some great smaller communities, hiking, and country scenery.

Great property
This property was perfect for our weekend getaway to the wine trail! The area is quiet and secluded but still clos to everything. The house is very well appointed, the bedrooms are comfortable and there was plenty of space for our party of 10 to relax and unwind.. We loved the ping pong table and hot tub. The views of the lake are stunning. WE will definitely stay here again!

Comfortable relaxing get away
We had a wonderful time at this vacation rental. It was perfect for our stay to both enjoy local wineries and a relaxing time . Plenty of space for 2 families with kiddos ( 9 yo, 7 yo, two 3 yo and two infants) in tow. The kids had a blast playing downstairs- plenty of entertainment! House was well equipped for home cooked meals and comfortable relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for a get away!!

Serenity provided plenty of space for our group and was quite comfortable. Although the location did not provide easy access to stores and restaurants, it served our tourist needs as one day we were heading south and the following we headed north. The exterior was in need of sprucing up and the driveway was difficult. Overall the interior was clean, however the bathrooms needed a deep cleaning and that was somewhat disappointing.

Not being used to the hard water, the soap is difficult to rinse off and made the tub extremely slippery!Overall, a great experience.

Serenity Now
An overall great week. We are a family of five (three kids under 13). House more than big enough to be comfortable. Great location with a fantastic view. Close to Penn Yan and Geneva. Also very close to MANY vineyards. The water going out from the shore was gradual so plenty of room for smaller kids to splash around without it getting too deep too quick. Any questions or correspondence with the property managers was met with very timely responses and action. Long story short, a fantastic time for my family and me and we would do it again - - in a heartbeat!

Great place to bring family together
Serenity Place was great for our 8 adults and 2 kids, primarily because of the awesome common space where folks can be cooking, playing games, and reading/watching TV while still being together. The lake view was phenomenal and the setting was quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again.
