About this house rental
This is a beautiful, private 4 bedroom home in the heart of Smuggler's Notch area with views of the mountains. It is an easy 3 miles to the slopes of Smugglers Notch Resort! This is a unique family property that consists of our primary residence with the rental being a separate and private "mother in law" home built by my parents to help facilitate family gatherings. Our family has made many lasting memories here and want to make your stay special. We are available for anything you need and are happy to advise you on things to do in the area. We have lived in this area for 26 years, drawn to it by the many recreational opportunities, mountains and relaxed lifestyle.
The home is secluded enough to provide privacy yet the activities in the area are only minutes away. It has a private entry, one car garage, ample parking, wood stove, granite kitchen counter tops, master bath with a jacuzzi bathtub. Large windows in the living area allow you to take advantage of our southern and easterly sunny exposures with beautiful mountain views. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and has all you will need and more. It is complete with gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave and a coffee pot. We also provide pantry staples like sugar, salt, flour, spices, etc to help you prepare your own meals with the food you bring. This home has 4 bedrooms to fit 8 people comfortably but can accommodate 2 more people with a sleeper sofa and extra charge of $25 per night per person over 8 people. Linens, towels and blankets are all provided.
Off the kitchen, there is a large deck with a picnic table and table with chairs and umbrella. The deck gets all the morning sun and is great for morning coffee. You will have access to trails for walking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing (see pictures). We even have a professionally lined pickle ball court in the front courtyard and equipment available for your use and enjoyment! There is flatscreen TV with DISH network for watching shows, sporting events or movies. You will also have access to wireless Wifi.
Enjoy everything the area has to offer during each season: skiing, hiking, kayaking, fishing, swimming and the best foliage in VT. The area offers many family-friendly activities, restaurants and dining, and a setting you can relax in. It is less than 1/2 mile from The Barn at Smugglers Notch, a beautiful, newly built wedding barn with attached wine bar open to public. COL, The Wine Bar(n) at Smugglers' Notch is a new Wine Tasting Facility located at the base of Smugglers' Notch. It offers one of the more extensive wine lists in Vermont. Just one mile down the road, in the quaint town of Jeffersonville, Hanley's General Store and The Farm Store offer food, groceries, and Vermont made goods. The Cupboard Deli has the best sandwiches, beer cave and donuts. The Boyden Valley Winery is 5 minutes away. The Smugglers Notch Distillery offers tastings of local award winning spirits. Restaurants in the town of Jeffersonville, like The Family Table and 158 Main, allow for dining choices off the mountain.
Access Stowe by taking a breathtaking drive through the mountain pass road (Rte. 108) that connects Smugglers Notch and Stowe. Stunning during foliage! During the winter, this windy mountain pass is closed for safety.

My friends and I stayed here recently for a girl’s trip and it was so wonderful! The number of bedrooms and bathrooms made it easy to spread out and not feel cooped up. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking at home. There were a variety of puzzles and games to entertain us, as well as a pickleball court in the driveway out front. Lots of great activities to do in the area like hiking, going to Burlington, seeing the Ben & Jerry’s factory, etc. The hosts were super friendly and made all of us feel special and welcome. We spent most of this year’s trip saying how we already can’t wait to come back next year!

We liked our stay at this house, close to the Smuggler's Notch ski area. The property looked exactly like the pictures, which was the first lovely surprise. The hosts made check-in and the first day easy because everything we needed was there in the house, as promised. It was spotless and in good condition, which we appreciated. In a heartbeat, we would stay there again.

This rental was the perfect stay for me and a couple friends was slightly concerned it being on the same property as the owners due to a couple of the people can be very loud , there was absolutely no issues and the owners were very nice and helpful

What a beautiful property! Exceptionally clean, while connected to the owners main property we felt like we had plenty of privacy! The check in process was easy, the rules were minimal and easy to follow. Plus getting to see Ozzy, the four legged tail wagging owner was an added bonus. We come to ski at Smuggler's for a few years now and once we found this place 4 years ago, we never looked for anything else. The house is bright, clean with everything you may need and more. Plenty of extra supplies (paper towels, soaps, detergents, toilet paper, towels, spices, oils), mostly any small necessity you typically have to buy yourself in any rental to use once or twice, or may forget to bring. Beds are very comfortable, house is sparkling clean and fresh. And if you are lucky with clear weather, the view from the back of the house to the woods and mountain is just beautiful.
We plan to be back next year.

The property and the owners are Fabulous! The house was as nice as described. It was the perfect accommodation for 6 friends in town for a wedding. The house was clean and well stocked! The Owners think of everything you could need in advance. There were even fresh flowers, a gift basket and a note welcoming us. We just returned from a trip staying at this location. Everything about the place was as described. The hosts were excellent and communicated everything I needed to know. The house is great location for both mountains we were visiting - Smugglers Notch and Jay Peak. It truly has everything you need and more! Super clean, had spices, kitchen amenities, heated garage (perfect for drying equipment after the slopes), toiletries, etc. Our party was 4 adults and 4 older teenagers. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our 4th time coming back to the house for our skiing vacation at Smugglers. This house has everything you need and some more. Kitchen, baths and laundry is fully stocked with all necessities and things you may forget to bring. Unlike other typical vrbos you are unlikely to run out of basic necessities such as paper towels, trash bags, soap, napkins, toilet paper etc. The morning view out of the window to the woods and mountains especially after night snow is just breathtaking. Just great place to be!

Keta is a great host and very communicative/attentive! The house is in a lovely mountain/woods setting and we found it to be well-stocked with everything you’d need. There is a lot of furniture for family to gather in a large open space. The four bedrooms are arranged perfectly with two up and two down so two families could have their own levels for sleeping. We’d definitely book there again!

First time in Vermont
My wife and I traveled to Vermont for the first time and could not be more happy with our stay, and this wonderful home is the foundation for our good time. The house was spotless and spacious and more than met our expectations. I especially loved the large deck outside for beautiful views with my coffee and donuts in the morning and a beer in the evening (the craft beers from numerous local breweries are outstanding!) I was treated to some amazing stargazing on a clear night that I was not expecting. (You will also get a friendly visit from Ozzie who just wants to say hello. Never barked or jumped on me, just wanted to visit!)
The house has several bedrooms of which we used the downstairs king bed which was very comfortable with a bathroom located just off the room. Lots of games/toys for any families with children. So clean everywhere! Perfect location for several local restaurants and a short drive to Stowe or other small towns nearby. Smugglers Notch is beautiful to explore. I know it is touristy but do give the Von Trapp lodge a visit. We had a beautiful lunch with an amazing view. We also used the grill to have burgers with meat bought from nearby Hanleys Grocery Store. The house stayed cool. We had one 90 degree day but the AC worked perfectly. It was the only day we needed it.
Our hosts, Keta and Peter were wonderful and always sent messages asking if there was anything we needed. Otherwise, they respected our privacy. You could not ask for better hosts or a better home for exploring Vermont. We are so thankful we chose this home.

Great cozy place with everything you need.
This was our third stay at this property. It has everything you need and more ( fully stocked kitchen, fully stocked baths and laundry). Great mountain views, proximity to the ski area, close to a few nice restaurants and bars, quiet, clean and cozy with plenty of morning light. We already plan to be back.

This property accommodates a large group. There is plenty of rooms and storage in the house. The house offers everything you need. The kitchen has all the appliances you need and Keta and Peter left us a lovely welcome card with chocolates. The house was very clean and bright with wonderful winter views of the backyard woods and mountains. The kitchen is well stocked with necessities and beyond (spices, utensils, foil, trash bags, cleaning supplies, etc), bathrooms clean and also stocked with conveniences like shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, soap. Great location, is an 8 min drive to Smuggles Notch and 50 min drive to Stowe. We really loved meeting Ozzie ( the owners' dog). Thank you so much and hopefully we will be back next winter. :)

We are a family of four and this was our second stay at the property, and we are planning to be back soon again. The house was very clean and bright with wonderful winter views of the backyard woods and mountains. This property accomdates a large group or family easily with plenty of room for everyone and the ability to retreat to your own area for quiet. Location is great and close to everything you need. It does take about 30 min to get into the larger towns for outings but the scenery is beautiful and once you drive it a couple of times it does not seem that long. The host were wonderful with great communication as we had several questions during our stay. House is very clean! I would definitely stay here again.

Very bright and cozy place!
We are a family of four ( two adults and two kids) , travel a lot and usually stay in vrbos, i.e. we have a lot of experience with vrbo rentals. This home was one of the best if not the best we have stayed in. Very bright, sunny, with a lot of natural light and great views of the mountains. Very clean and fresh. Keta was very helpful with all our needs. What I appreciated the most was that the house was stocked beyond your basic daily needs: a lot of spices, oils, some teas, all possibly needed utensils in the kitchen, plenty of paper towels, towels, blankets and throws, every sink had soap and hand lotion ( very handy in cold dry weather), just pure convenience of not needing to rush to grocery store for such small things we do not pay attention to but always need. The house is located very close to Smuggler 's notch ski and not far from a few grocery places and eateries. We really enjoyed coming back to the house after hours on the slopes, sitting near fire, playing chess , sipping wine and watching sunsets over the mountains. We hope to be back there next winter! Great VRBO! Great hosts! Great Ozzie!

Smugglers Notch Ski Weekend
Keta and Peter are wonderful hosts! When we arrived, there was a hand written welcome note and a few goodies that our kids enjoyed. We had a two day ski competition on Saturday and Sunday at Smugglers Notch (which was a very convenient 10 minutes away), we shared the house with another family and we had plenty of space for the two families and the house contained everything we could need. Thank you to Keta and Peter for their hospitality and we are looking forward to a return visit next year.

This home was amazing! I stayed here with my husband and 3 boys. There was plenty of space and a great room downstairs with toys and games for the boys! It was so close to the mountain. The home owners were very kind and accommodating. We hope to stay here again soon!

Winter wonderland
We had a very enjoyable stay at this lovely home with a beautiful view of of the mountains. The close proximity to Smugglers Notch Ski Resort was fantastic-a quick ride to the slopes and then back to the peaceful quiet of the house after a long day of skiing. We really appreciated the hosts Welcome Book which had lots of great recommendations for local attractions, groceries and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils if you want to cook in and there are many games and puzzles if you want to unplug for some fun family time. We would love to come back in the summer or fall as it’s such a beautiful area with lots to see and do. Thank you Keta and Peter!
