Frank's Place on Inverness Ridge is a charming Point Reyes rental home with panoramic bay views. With spacious living and sleeping areas, wifi and an outdoor hot tub, it's the perfect lodging for families on a Point Reyes adventure or couples seeking a secluded and romantic getaway.
The natural setting is spectacular, with lush surrounding forest giving way to open vistas and rough-and-tumble rhododendron gardens. Here on the ridge nights are dark and quiet, and mornings are beautiful whether drenched in clear light or sheathed in fog. Birds are abundant, including resident Pileated Woodpeckers and many others changing with the seasons. Ravens and hawks ride the winds out over the canyon. Scan the gardens or the meadow below and you may see deer, or even a fox or bobcat.
This classic Inverness style home was designed and built by local architect Jim Campe in 1986. The living room, bedrooms, decks and hot tub all face out over forested parkland to Tomales Bay and the hills beyond. In the main living area wood and tile floors and high, beamed ceilings create an expansive and elegant atmosphere, while clearstory windows capture the afternoon sun. Just down the hall, the carpeted master suite features a king-size bed and large private bathroom with two sinks, giant tub and walk-in shower.
Downstairs are two additional bedrooms with a shared second bathroom. A queen-size bed and TV in one of the bedrooms make it great for a second couple. The other is just right for kids, with two twin beds. A large inflatable mattress and porta-crib are also available if needed. Step out onto the downstairs porch to access the private hot tub.
An additional office room upstairs includes a sofa/daybed that can be made up for yet another sleeping option. WiFi from a cable Internet connection is available throughout, and there's a small computer in the office if you didn't bring your laptop. Cable TV is present upstairs and down, as well as a stereo system in the living room. CDs, games, puzzles, art and many books are here for your enjoyment.

If you are new to the area you'll be amazed by the beauty and diversity of the Point Reyes National Seashore landscape, and charmed by the small but culturally rich towns of Inverness and Point Reyes Station. Fine dining at any of several great restaurants, delectable treats and coffee at the Bovine Bakery , and a wealth of local, organic and artisan food products are all just minutes away. Be sure to save some time for browsing the local shops and galleries.

We’ve been vacationing in Inverness over the past 18 years. Frank’s Place is our go to place to stay and our family has come to think of it as our home away from home. So many great memories made over the years. It’s a lovely home and I’m amazed at its versatility. It very comfortably accommodates everyone from as young as toddlers to seniors. The home has a fair amount of stairs, so maybe not suited for those for mobility challenges, but our 83 year old grandpa managed just fine. We will continue to come to Frank’s Place and are so grateful to Scott for sharing his slice of heaven.

Frank's place was the perfect spot for 3 generations to be together...from the beautiful surroundings, proximity to point reyes seashore, to the comfortable accommodations, and wealth of books and games ( not to mention the hot tub), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay...the only thing that would have made it even better, would have been a few less twists and turns up the road!!! Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.

Frank's Place is the perfect place to stay if you want a home base for Point Reyes area adventures or if you just want a quiet getaway. We had big hiking plans that were thwarted by rain, but we didn't mind too much because the house was so inviting and cozy. Beautiful and comfortable retro furnishings, a roaring fire, even listening to birds and taking in the nature all around from a warm hot tub in the rain. The owners and innkeeper were kind and available if we needed anything, but we were all set. The house was well-stocked with pantry essentials, books, DVDs, games. and the owners provided detailed instructions about how everything worked. We can't wait to visit again.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Frank’s Place. The house is spacious and airy, with beautiful views of Tomales Bay from 2 different decks. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and the hot tub was a wonderful plus. Easy access to Pt Reyes Station and Pt Reyes National Seashore. This was my 4th stay at Frank’s Place and I hope to go back again and again!

This was our fourth time staying at Frank's Place. We were lucky to be there during one of the big storms. It was the perfect place to be because of the warmth, coziness, and beautiful scenery. The owners go out of their way to make your stay five stars. We will be back next year.

“Frank’s Place” was a great retreat high above Tomales Bay. Kitchen was well equipped and the fireplace and hot tub were a plus. Kitsy, the Innkeeper, was extremely welcoming and accommodating (very much appreciated). A great location for exploring the Point Reyes National Seashore.

Staying at Frank’s Place was a lovely experience. The view, the seclusion, and the hot tub were the highlights. Carpeted areas could use updating but otherwise the place was spacious and well appointed. Caretaker was friendly and responsive. I’d definitely rent this place again!

The house was well stocked with all the amenities to cook a great meal. It’s a great place for 6 people to sleep comfortably. The decks are so peaceful, looking into the trees and our into the bay . I love the seclusion . Our family had a great time just eating , playing games , emoting the hot tub and beautiful surroundings.

We stayed at Frank's place for a three day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the view, hot tub and watching the birds from the many decks.
The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and Kitsy, the property manager, is very helpful and friendly.

A perfect house in a perfect location!
We had such a wonderful relaxing vacation. The house was gorgeous and well equipped, the abundance of windows allowed us to enjoy the view, including the amazing rain storm that we caught while we were there. The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of clean towels, the hot tub was clean and beautifully situated. We can’t wait to come back!

Large, but cozy, vacation home
Even though the furnace wasn't working, and it gets chilly at night, this large home felt cozy with the addition of heaters in every bedroom and the living room, plus the working fireplace. We enjoyed fires at night and in the morning, and soaking in the hot tub in the afternoons/evenings. The location is perfect for exploring the Point Reyes National Seashore and it's beaches and visitor's center, and to get to nearby Point Reyes Station for restaurants, supplies, gas, and shopping. The owner and innkeeper were both excellent and very communicative, ensuring we felt very welcome for our stay.

Weekend getaway in Point Reyes
The location was great and the house was spacious for 4 adults. The drive up the hill to get to the property was quite steep and a bit difficult to find in the dark but once you drove the hill a few times it became much easier. The house was also a bit worn and could have been cleaned a little better but overall we had a wonderful stay!

This is a quiet, tree loaded property with a peek-a-boo view of Tomales Bay, lots of birds and a wonderful hot tub. A complete kitchen, work out room and lots of space. We loved our time here.

Very comfortable, well-equipped house, terrific bird-watching, perfect location for all my favorite Pt. Reyes hikes. Kitchen and gas grill make cooking at home a breeze. Hot tub is a plus.

High in the hills!
House was gorgeous and very comfortable for our group of five adults. (Only our adult son said one twin bed was definitely more comfortable than the other!) Really lovely spot, but do know there's a twisting road to reach the house, and best to arrive in daylight! We were able to park three cars in the driveway, which we had been a little worried about after reading the instructions (said room for two). This really is a wonderful spot for gathering with your family, like living in a tree house there are so many windows and views!

Frank's Place is wonderful. Multiple decks where you can relax and watch birds and glimpse the ocean. Private, with trees all around and stocked with everything we needed. The place is not accessible; a multi level house. Highly recommend!
