The property is a beautiful Bavarian chateau surrounded in spring/summer flowers, hummingbirds and mountain trees! Nestled in West Vail close to the Village, grocery stores and slopes, it’s also a short walk to the Davos trailhead with breathtaking views of the Valley. Inside, both the living and sleeping rooms are very comfortable, and the house is stocked with all you need for cooking, eating and enjoying. Our on-property hosts, Elfi and Jon, were delightful and interesting people tending to the flowers and landscaping, and our every need.

I can’t say enough good things about the Bavarian Chalet! The place was spotless, had everything you could possibly need, and was so comfortable and cozy. But the true separating factors that make this place spectacular are Elfi and Jon! Elfi was in contact with me via text well before our planned trip date explaining some details about the chalet and sending a warm welcome. On the day of our arrival, Elfi was in close contact with me and they both greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the chalet. It’s so rare nowadays to even speak with the owner (usually run by some sort of property management company), but to be greeted by them and given a grand tour was so sweet! The chalet had everything we could have possibly needed for our ski trip, including boot dryers, every cooking tool we needed, a crock pot, super clean bedrooms, bathrooms, and linens, a hot tub, stocked wood for the wood-burning stove, and even a morning paper delivery via Mishka, their loving, floofy pupper! The property is amazing as is, but the hospitality and kindness that Elfi and Jon bring to the table is unmatched. From the morning greetings while we loaded up our car to all the tips, recommendations, and local knowledge, it was so nice having them around when we needed them. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone and will definitely be seeking it out every time we visit the Vail area. We were all so happy we found the place and extremely pleased with our stay!

What a wonderful home + Owner experience! The home is in an ideal location with windows facing the mountain, a great winter/summer hiking trail just a short walk from the doorstep and Vail a quick 7 min drive away. Inside the home is cozy, with an excellent kitchen/living room setup, stocked kitchen, roomy bedrooms and bathrooms.
Elfi and Jon are friendly, kind and generous with their time and stories. Couldn't have asked for a better rental. Hope to see them soon!!!

This was our 7th year in a row staying at the Bavarian Chalet. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub each day after skiing then hanging out by the fire. One evening we grilled steaks on the outdoor grill. The hosts are amazing and have thought of everything. The dinner Elfi prepared for us on Saturday night was amazing. I can't think of a better place, with better hosts, than the Bavarian Chalet to stay at in Vail Valley. We can't wait to return next year!

We had a wonderful time on a ski trip for spring break with our kids (ages 20,22,26). The chalet was the nicest place I’ve ever stayed with VRBO- Elfi and jon were so welcoming and live above the chalet so they delivered the paper every morning and had a big bag of dark chocolates waiting for us when we checked in and were readily available to answer any questions. It’s a short 8 min drive to Lionshead and they provided their parking pass which was such a nice surprise. The kitchen was fully stocked and the outdoor hot tub was perfect. The living room has a fire place stocked with wood and very comfy couches/recliners so we could all hang out and watch tv and have a fire in the evenings . I loved it here! Will definitely be back!!

We had a wonderful time at the Bavarian Chalet. Elfie and Jon made us feel like family! The home is equipped with everything needed for a family stay. The kitchen is well stocked, spices included. The beds are very comfortable, with wonderful sheets, plentiful pillows, and down comforters. It was great having plentiful towels as well. Every morning, the driveway and our car were cleared of snow. Jon and MIshka delivered the paper daily as well. You won't be disappointed. Don't hesitate..book now!

This is the best place we have stayed! The owners really know how to take care of you. The driveway was cleaned everyday along with our vehicle (snowed a ton) there is plenty of room for family or friends to stay. The hot tub was hot and secluded but you still can enjoy the beautiful weather. The kitchen is stocked with whatever utensil or kitchen gadget you need. The owners live above the property so they are very helpful for whatever you need. They will show you how to use everything you need in the home. The parking pass is a win and helps save a lot of money with parking at Vail!

I can't say enough about the hospitality of Jon and Elfi. We love their Bavarian Chalet and just completed our 6th Christmas week with them. Elfi brings us homemade Christmas cookies when we arrive and Jon clears the snow from our car in the morning and has the driveway clean before we leave (and we leave early each morning). The Chalet has everything you need to prepare meals and we even used their grill for steaks one evening, but nothing beats some time in the hot tub after a day on the slopes before retiring to the living room in front of the fire for the evening. We will be returning next year for our 7th in a row!

Great end-of-summer stay at this Vail chalet. The hosts were very gracious and had great communication. The accommodations were just as described and fit our family of 5 plus grandma perfectly. This was a comfortable sanctuary to return to at the end of a day of hiking, whitewater rafting, or shopping in Vail. It's nestled into the hills in a great neighborhood, with a walking trail nearby. Would highly recommend.

Another Fantastic Stay!!
We had such a great experience in 2019 here that we decided to come back, and we were not disappointed. Elfie and Jon were great hosts as always, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was very clean and had everything we could possibly need for our 5 night stay. It felt like our home away from home.
The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, and we enjoyed taking walks daily. Our 5-year old boy loved exploring the property and the neighborhood. The home was clean, had comfortable beds, and was so cozy. And Elfie and Jon are the friendliest hosts, always ready to help with anything we needed.
We can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to come back!

Fourth of July vacation
Incredibly beautiful VRBO! It was the best furnished and stocked accommodation I have ever experienced for a VRBO! Beautiful rooms, comfy living area and kitchen was fully stocked with Beautiful dishes, wonderful knives, all spices and serving dishes! Bedrooms are large and very comfortable and loved the down comforters! Owners are very friendly and responsive! They have personal touches that make it very special! It was very peaceful… well except the abundance of hummingbirds, lol! There was a large picnic table and new bbq on the patio… loved the serenity there in the morning . Highly recommend!!

Perfect cozy chalet in West Vail
Elfi's Bavarian Chalet surpassed all our expectations, it is extremely clean, cozy, the living room was perfect for the six of us and the rooms were comfortable. Loved the fireplace, Jon would stop by every morning to bring us the newspaper while walking Mishka, and the hot tub after skiing was a big plus. The property is great and the hosts went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect.

Great Stay!
The place was excellent for the four of us. Very well maintained and equipped with everything you will need for an extended stay. Location is 6 min to Vail Village parking and 16 min to the Beaver Creek parking. Elfi includes a parking pass to Vail, so that saves some money. The fireplace and hot tub is an added bonus especially for the winter skiers. I would definitely stay in the future if we're able to make the return.

Beautiful cozy home
I’ve stayed in lots of VRBOs and this was definitely one of my favorites. The home has everything you need and is very comfortable. The owners are very helpful and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. Enjoyed the wood burning stove every night which they provide all the supplies for and will even help you get a fire started if you need it. We used the hot tub almost every night and it was always clean and ready for use as John services it every day. Beds were very comfy and kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner every day. They provide a parking pass to drive and park at Lionshead or Vail Village (pass is good at one depending on the day) which is a good thing because not sure we would have wanted to do the walk down the hill to the bus stop and then back up at the end of the day. It’s only 0.2 miles but would not have been easy with ski boots and carrying skis/poles. Our group would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much for everything and the wonderful hospitality.

Great condo with wonderful hospitality!
We had a great time and enjoyed the property. Elfi and Jon showed great hospitality and the condo had everything we needed. They also included one parking pass to Vail Village or Lionshead depending on the day. The other option for parking is park along Frontage road and take the shuttle for free. You can also pay around $30 per day in a parking garage. Overall, it was a great stay and I highly recommend the Bavarian Chalet!

Excellent week at The Chalet
This was our second stay at Elfi and Jon’s Chalet. Everything once again was superb. The place was spotless. Their rental is the best we have ever had in Vail, and we’ve stayed in at least 10 other places. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, the cozy living room with wood burner, the great hot tub, the great linens and towels. If you want and relaxing well appointed rental, this is the place. We've spent the last 5 years staying at Elfi & Jon's Bavarian Chalet. They create the best VRBO experience ever so we plan to keep returning each year. The place is immaculate and has everything you need. It snowed every day we were there and Jon had the driveway shoveled and our car cleared off each morning. This is our best VRBO experience. The house is beautiful and clean, with everything you need. Elfi and Jon are the best host we have ever had very quick to respond any questions we have and kept us updated of snow before our trip. We stayed 6 nights and skied 4 days. The day we took a break from ski, we hiked the beautiful Davos trail behind the house Elfi recommended. I would recommend this house highly. Thank you Elfi and Jon for making our trip very enjoyable, even though we don't have the best snow this year.

We had an amazing stay at the Chalet! The Chalet was clean, comfortable, well decorated, and had everything we needed for a week long stay. Fantastic Vacation at the Bavarian Chalet
This was hands down the best short term rental property we have visited, and we've stayed in quite a few. Beautiful location and property with everything we needed to feel right at home. Laundry was a big bonus for a longer stay. There are great hikes accessible right behind the house, and, in our opinion, West Vail was a great location away from the congestion and crowds of Vail Village. Elfi and Jon are fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. They even provided us with a s'mores kit and chocolates, which was so nice. The apartment was clean, super comfortable, and really spacious.

Amazing on every level
We just finished a 5 night stay at Elfi and Jon’s Bavarian chalet and it was amazing from start to finish. The home is appointed with everything you will need to make you feel right at home. Our beds were so cozy, soft towels and linens were provided throughout the home. We loved the location and to access Vail Village, Avon and Beaver Creek.
We were made to feel like family during our entire stay, a morning paper was delivered to our door each morning, s’mores kit was waiting for us to use on the back patio grill. Dark chocolates on arrival as well. My kids loved hanging out here and we cannot wait to return this winter. This is a full service experience that you won’t forget. I can’t even imagine a better visit. The rooms are beautifully furnished. The hosts respond quickly to requests. Since we are in our nineties we asked for grab bars in the bathtubs which they installed. Elfi and Jon are wonderful wam friendly hosts. If you are looking for a GORGEOUS property to stay at in Vail, look no further! The Bavarian Chalet has it all! Elfi and Jon are the hosts and are two of the kindest people I have ever met. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Elfi, who is so friendly and made certain that we had everything we needed. There were fresh flowers and a big bag of Godiva chocolates waiting for us ( Yum!). The home is fully stocked with everything you would ever need for a wonderful stay. Two of our favorite things (out of many!) were the heated floors in the master bathroom and the wonderful Lazy Boy chair in the living room. This place has the most wonderful decor and furnishings! Plus, the hot tub was divine and we all enjoyed it. The flowers were another favorite part of ours! They were in full bloom and so pretty! We loved to sit outside and just listen to nature and admire the beautiful flower gardens. The VRBO is the entire floor of the downstairs of the chalet. It is an absolutely spacious and immaculate 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms. Everything was so clean! The decor and furnishings are so cozy and comfortable. We couldn’t believe how quiet everything was and we loved it as that was quite the change for us coming from the city! Jon was great and delivered our paper to us every morning. We loved chatting with him and seeing him and their dog Mischka (nicest dog ever!) off for their daily morning walks. Both Elfi and Jon used to work at the Ritz Carlton and boy, do they know hospitality well!!! We felt like we were their guests at the Ritz! Elfi was wonderful to give us recommendations of local restaurants. She recommended a bakery in Avon called Columbine Bakery and it was divine! We got a birthday cake there for our family member and it was the best cake we have ever had! Elfi and Jon were just absolutely the best hosts ever and we just loved being their guests! We have been to Vail before but we have never stayed at a place remotely as amazing as this place. When I found this place on VRBO, I saw the reviews and wanted to try it. We are so glad we did! I wish I could give this place many more than five stars! Our vacation in Vail was absolutely phenomenal and we hope to be back again someday to experience another amazing stay at the Bavarian Chalet!
