This place is a cute mobile home. Has a great location, private dock (with kayaks & canoe), & nice screened in patio. So close to weekie wachee park (mermaid show & buccaneer bay). We had more fun at this place (swimming & boating) than any other place we visited. Fast & friendly owners, with great communication.

We had a wonderful time at the river! This home had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of towels provided. We enjoyed drinking our coffee out on the dock in the morning and grilling in the evening. Like others have mentioned, this is a trailor and is outdated but it is clean and was all we needed. I feel like the price was fair for this home. We werent looking for anything "fancy" but somewhere that was clean that we could shower, eat, and sleep and this house met that ticket. The house is on a canal and the water wasnt clear, but it was a short kayak trip to the clear water on the main part of the river. The hosts were very responsive and communication was clear. Thank you for hosting us!

The rental is right on the water and the area is beautiful. The watercrafts were in poor shape but we brought our own and it was amazing to be near the river. The place was clean and had all of the basics and comforts of home. The floor is not steady and I'm not sure what that is about but we loved our stay there!!!

This is a very cute home and i highly recommend it. Right on the water and very close to the head spring

We had the best time staying at the Mermaid Cove. Bonus with the kayaks.
The trailer is a little outdated but was still nice. The bathroom and kitchen/living area is renovation. The outdoor screen porch was so great to sit out and enjoy in the morning and evenings.

The space was clean, kitchen and bath had been updated and the kitchen was well stocked. The bed was soft with a thick memory foam mattress and nice linens. The owner was very responsive to a couple of problems we had. We enjoyed the area and the neighbor hood was fine
This is a 50 ish year old mobile home and it VERY MUCH shows its age. There were quite a few things that were in disrepair inside and out. It felt old. My biggest complaint is the owner has chosen not to have pictures of the bedrooms in the listing. They are not updated. The walls are water rippled, the ceilings are low. They have old dark brown carpet that is fraying in the door frame. Had I seen pictures of the bedrooms I likely would have passed on this rental.

We enjoyed our stay! Great location and got to see fireworks for the new year. Everything needed inside, clean and the beds/ couches were comfy. Spent most of the time on the dock or screened in porch. Thanks for hosting!!

The floors in this mobile home were soft. The under floor needs replacing. The wooden deck chairs were filthy as were the deck tables. The entry door would only open half way. The interior door in the small bedroom would only opened half way. The exterior skirting was filthy and all falling off.
But, we all made the best of it and had a good time.

Loved our stay at Mermaid Cove! It might just be a trailer from the outside but everything on the inside has been updated. Extremely clean! Comfy beds, great shower, washer and dryer in the unit.
We brought our own kayaks but there are numerous available for use along with a canoe and a paddle boat. It would be hard for older people to get in and out of the kayaks since there is a bit of a drop, but we were able to get on right off the dock. Great ladder for swimming in the river! Bonfire pit, Adirondack chairs, screened in back porch with super comfy chairs, and we loved the completely fenced in backyard since we were able to bring our two dogs. They truly lived their best lives! We kayaked the river on Friday, rented a pontoon boat Saturday for scalloping and were sad when we had to leave Sunday. A ton. Screened in back porch with super comfy chairs, and we loved the completely fenced in backyard since we were able to bring her two dogs. A ton of cute local restaurants all within 3 miles. Definitely plan on staying here again!! Great communication with the owners as well, we appreciated sharing your place with us!

This place is exactly as you see- it’s a great inexpensive weekend getaway. We saw a manatee as soon as we arrived, an owl came to sit right next to us for an hour or so, wood storks, and more. We spent the day kayaking and enjoying all the springs has to offer.
It’s not fancy and yes, some new living room furniture would help for rainy days inside; but it’s clean and a good value and we were very grateful for a last minute booking request approval!

The location and easy access to the water was great. Having the kayaks to use was great fun. Property is dated but has been upgraded somewhat and was reasonable for the price. Floors have been redone and you can see daylight between wall and floor in back bedroom. Dont stay here if you are looking for perfection, but for the price in this location, on the water its very reasonable. Check in and out process were great.

It was a very short stay too short actually ,had a wonderful experience here ,everything that we needed was provided ,loved the little cottage , the hosts had left instructions on arrival and explained how everything worked, including restaurants ,things to do. Etc. Will definitely do this again

The first night we were there a raccoon greeted us outside the back porch. I think he wanted some of our cheese burgers. We did not feed him. We cooked inside because there really is no gas grill. It’s a charcoal grill and we were a bit impatient after traveling. The property could have used a rake. We cleaned a lot of dog poop. From previous renters along with our own dogs. Inside had everything we needed and was clean.

Property was dated, but consistent with price. Instructions for checkin and operations were not upto date! Good access to river from canal. Kayaks and canoe good. Dock needs attention. But overall good for a couple of nights

This neighborhood is a great location to reach the river. The inside of the trailer was okay but the couches were rattan and not very comfortable. We weren't able to get live TV but it says there was live TV. The kayaks there were beat up and very hard to use as they were not very seaworthy. The dock is not in good shape and the latter was terrible. Three grown adults had issues trying to get out of the water. The front door only opens halfway so I could barely get my bags through the door. The master bed was soft and uncomfortable. The double bed on the bottom bunk has a big hole underneath so the mattress sagged through. Needless to say we didn't get a lot of sleep and I only use the kayaks and doc once. Think you should make it a little more user friendly and less dangerous if you're going to rent the place out. I would not stay here again unless all the above is changed the new better more comfortable stuff and safe. This place does have potential but..

Place is great and has everything you need. Host quickly responded to all questions. It even had a blender, so we made fresh salsa. The location is wonderful. So many birds, jumping fish and a manatee swam up to our dock. A mermaid swam by but she still had her legs.

Our family of 5 fit perfectly in the little mermaid cove. It was perfect for what we needed. We enjoyed being on the canal, eating at the Italian restaurant down the street, the back porch, and being so close to the park. Many thanks!

The lock box on door did not exist as per instructions. We were all guys so easy to please. Surprised you expect guest to do the laundry ? You charge a cleaning g fee. Bathroom needs work. Mold, dirty window, cracked tub etc. kitchen nice. Could clean the algae off the tables. Love the location. If wives would have been with it it would be different report.

Great kitchen!!
Loved this place! Had I newly updated kitchen with all the thing you might need to cook all your meals. Outside area was awesome to wake up and have your morning coffee. Lots of vessels to choose from, for a short paddle to the river but the best was the peddle boat!! Thanks for amazing trip!!

A Great Getaway
The hosts were extremely friendly and responsive to any questions we had. The suggestions of things to do and places to eat close by were greatly appreciated. Even with our large family we had plenty of room and loads of fun! Everyone enjoyed kayaking, being close to pretty much everything, the nights together on the screened in porch, or sitting by the fire pit, and even swimming right there at the dock. Definitely will return!!

Quiet and relaxing
Trailer is dated but very comfortable. We enjoyed kayaking and the quietness of the area. We did a lot of day trips in the area then relaxed on screened porch.

Review of Mermaid Cove
We enjoyed our stay at Mermaid cove for the most part.. The check in and out process was very simple. Communication with the owner was good prior to our visit. We loved the river and kayaking, very relaxing.
The kitchen and living room were nice, however the room with the bunk beds had mild growing and an outlet falling out of the wall. This is where our children slept. Not safe at all.
The bathroom is not in good condition. Mold growing towards ceiling, tub needs replaced, feels like you’ll fall through the floor.
Tears is the screen off of the kitchen. This doesn’t hinder the use of the property, however when people pay a lot of money to rent, you’d expect more.
The pull out couch is not suitable to sleep anyone. We had to get a blow up mattress after the first night. It definitely needs replaced if you want to make this tiny trailer sleep 7.
The description of the home needs to list that it is indeed a trailer and not a house. It is not clear in the current description. The photo almost looks like a little shack restaurant on a beach.
The kayaks are in need of repair or replacement. Plugs are missing and we had one sink on my son, who had to drag it a mile down river, tie it to a tree and then walk back to the trailer in the dark. We recovered it the next day. Please maintain better for safety.
Like I said, we did enjoy our time but would not come and stay at this property again.

Needs a little updating !
Of course we had a dog , so couldn't be picky , and with a dog it worked great , but the property definitely needed some updating. The couch and loveseat were not very comfortable and when we pulled it out to check the mattress ,it should have been thrown away. Great enclosed porch , I do wish we were a little closer to the main river, it is beautiful. And good kitchen, but a gas grill would of been nice. All in all ,I think it was a bit over priced , i will be back but we plan on up-grading next time.

We saw the property from the outside and were very disappointed,we had no cell phone service and the property felt isolated and not at all like the pictures…we did not enter and cancelled our stay realizing that we would forfeit the cost of the accommodations but felt it what what we needed to do to feel secure in the area. Since I am 72 and my sister is 75 , this is perhaps a property more for an adventurous family.

Weeki Wachee gardens is an eclectic mix of old Florida, new Florida and everything in between. It has an inviting, friendly, fun and funky vibe. The kayaking right off the property dock is fantastic and gets better yet as you paddle out toward the river. Within 7 miles are beaches wrapped by grassy flats and gin clear waters, boat launches into the Gulf, hiking trails into wilderness Florida and all the restaurants and shopping you need. An hour south is Honeymoon island state park with spectacular white sand beaches and gorgeous blue waters. We saw hundreds of manatees and were even treated to a mating ritual. It was all we hoped it would be and more. The property itself is an old mobile home, as are a number of the properties in the community. It was very clean when we arrived and everything worked. The kitchen is well stocked. Sitting on the back porch and dock under the canopy of trees while listening to the sound of birds and nature was peaceful.

Enjoyed our Stay
The Mermaid Cove was old but very nicely upgraded and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the washer and dryer were really nice to have. We loved the screened in porch which gave us the opportunity to eat and be outside even though we had a few rainy days. The availability of kayaks and canoe were a really nice bonus and allowed us to enjoy the river. The neighborhood was nice and it was located just a short distance from restaurants and shopping.
