We are a modern New England farmhouse style vacation home in Lake Elmore, Vermont. Designed and built as an upscale, getaway home near Stowe, Vermont. Located on 1.5 acres at the end of a private road, you'll enjoy both privacy and beauty with panoramic mountain views.
The design is an open concept with 16 foot high cathedral ceilings supported by beams of locally harvested Hemlock braced by custom fabricated iron. The gas fireplace is surrounded by ledge stone & solid bamboo floors. Walls of windows provide scenic views of Elmore Mountain and the surrounding woodland of Balsam and Birch. Our clean, non-smoking home sleeps six comfortably but is also perfect for just two. There's a cool sleeping alcove and 2 bedrooms with en suite full baths. The chef's kitchen features granite island & counter tops, new stainless steel appliances including an efficient dishwasher, a five burner gas stove with full oven & a wicked big fridge. Our home is completely furnished for your enjoyment. The idyllic village of Stowe is our adjacent neighbor & only about 14 miles away.
Vermont's Green Mountains, acres of farmed valleys, rivers & lakes, apple orchards, horse pastures, sugar houses and covered bridges take visitors back in time. Lake Elmore is considered "the Beauty Spot of Vermont". Take a leisurely 1/2 mile stroll to the lake, State Park with miles of hiking trails. Elmore boasts a 219 acre lake, mountain hiking & skiing, a Vermont state park and VAST/Catamount trails. Located close to Stowe, Smugglers Notch, historic Montpelier, Woodstock, Burlington, the North East Kingdom and all the best Vermont has to offer. Whether you are looking for adventure or a place to rest & recharge, this is it.
Our beautiful, two+ bedroom (the "+" bedroom is a unique, adult sized sleeping alcove), two full bath home is fully furnished. There is a new, full sized convertible couch, a twin bed, a full bed and a queen bed. The house can accommodate up to six guests.
We provide the little things so you don't have to. Linens, hair dryer, cooler, gas grill, snow shovel, etc. are included in your rental.
Pack your laptop and tablet, we have a new, reliable, Xfinity fiber optic WiFi internet service with speeds of 400-500 Mbps . For your electronic charging convenience, we've installed two high speed USB wall outlets to power up your devices directly without the adapters. There are two flat screen, 1080P High Definition TVs and a Roku streaming device.
Outdoor adventures can be messy. Awesomely messy; so we've installed a highly efficient, full sized, front end loading LG washer & dryer. Go play outside.
Although we do not allow pets, Vermont is a very pet & livestock friendly place including our neighborhood. We don't allow pets to stay in our home as some of our guests may be allergic. There are pet boarding facilities in the area.

This is a place I've come back to several times now, and it never disappoints. Mary Anne and Elsie are fanastic hosts, the house is always reliably appointed and clean and fun to stay in. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I stayed for a long weekend in the summer. The place is perfect with amazing views and all the modern amenities one could want. It is just a short, scenic drive from Stowe and all the outdoor attractions.

A great stay and a great home. The property descriptions are accurate - the home is very nice, very well equipped, and the view is spectacular. Two older adults, our son, and his two kids. Bedrooms on two floors were ideal for trying to put kids to bed before we were ready to call it a night. They were excited to sleep in the little cubby.. Pretty much everything you could need in the kitchen, including a big refrigerator. Mary Anne was great - very quick to update us with information for the eclipse weekend and told us about lawn chairs in the little barn, which we put to good use. If you are in the area and you have a little time to sit and look at the scenery during your stay, this is the place.

Our friends and I really enjoyed our stay in this Elmore home. At the end of the road, there was plenty of privacy and yet close to the lake. The house was clean and comfortable with everything one would need for a trip away from home. My only wish was that we had more time to stay there.

We enjoyed a wonder week staying at Mary Anne & Elsie's home. The location is beautiful and peaceful and the home is very well equipped. The layout lends itself to two couples, with separate bedrooms/baths upstairs and down. Downstairs, there is an additional sleeping nook under the stairs that our daughter really enjoyed. We're looking forward to returning in the future to enjoy the Fall colors.

We loved the home and Mary Anne was a great host with detailed instructions. The only note that I have is regarding the listing as 3 bedrooms. The house actually has 2 bedrooms with a third full sized bed underneath the stair alcove. There is also a futon in the downstairs living room which was great. Overall, the property was very clean, newly constructed, with beautiful big windows and gorgeous views. Highly recommend!

The property was just what we were looking for. Off the beaten path, and just a short drive to nearby Stowe. Loved the lay-out of the house, great for privacy with 2 couples. Our 10 year son loved the Harry Potter room under the stairs. Gas fireplace was great upstairs near the kitchen. Both bedrooms had their own bathrooms. Place was clean, comfortable and warm. We will definitely go back again!

We were very impressed with the house, location, utilities etc…. It was record low temps, -20 and below, no problems with the home. Everything was well stocked, especially the kitchen. The home is just the right distance from Stowe. We were very happy and will come again.

We had an amazing time staying in this house. Mary Anne and Elsie's house is pristine! We loved the location- it was right near Lake Elmore, which allowed us to explore the lake front. It was also close to Stowe and Waterbury, which is where we had some activities planned. The house itself was gorgeous and fully stocked with pots, pans dishes, and cooking spices. Everything in the house was immaculate and the upstairs kitchen was perfect. We were a party of 6- 4 adults and 2 kids (aged 3 and 6). The kids had so much fun exploring and loved the little bedroom nook on the first floor. We loved all the little touches in the house as well. We are definitely hoping to come back and stay here again! Thanks for a great holiday weekend!!

Great stay at the mountain house. It was exactly as advertised and exceptionally clean. It had all the small things to make the stay comfortable, and enough room for a family of 5. Would stay again on our next trip to Stowe. Mary Anne was very responsive to any questions we had.

What a lovely, peaceful place to be! We spent a long weekend here while dropping our son at the University of VT. Amazing hiking within minutes. Beautiful home with incredible view. SO quiet--I haven't slept that well in years!

Mary Anne and Elsie's house in Elmore is absolutely magical. We appreciated the design of the house, how well stocked it was, how clean. The view of Elmore Mtn, being able to hear the loons from the lake, the privacy of the property -- all so nice. The hosts were very welcoming, responsive, and friendly. We plan to stay again.

My husband and I rented Mary Anne and Elsie’s house and it was perfect for us. The view of the mountains is stunning, it’s close to lake Elmore and a quick drive to Stowe. House is clean, welcoming and organized which we appreciated, has all amenities. They are thoughtful hosts. We had a great time and a great location, we would love to come back again!

Lovely spot!
We rented this beautiful spot for the weekend after picking our girls up from a week at Circus Smirkus camp in Greensboro. It provided the perfect place to relax and be together as a family. We hiked Elmore Mountain, swam at the lake, had incredible pizza from Firetower Pizza in the Elmore Store, and enjoyed the peace!

A great home for four adults +/- a kid. Everything was very clean, appeared new, and worked well. Great views of the mountains and walking distance to Lake Elmore.

Beautiful Property!
Mary Anne's property is immaculate. Very clean and really nice layout with amazing views. The fireplace and flannel sheets were both really nice. Kitchen is stocked with everything you could need. Mary Anne is very responsive and sent me recommendations prior to arrival and left a lovely handwritten note upon arrival. Highly reccomend and would visit again.
