Great condo! The location cannot be beat! You are less than a football field away from the village and gondola. It was a little hard to find in the dark, but once we got our bearings in the daylight, it was an easy spot and great location. We would definitely stay here again.

Easy stay. Right by the village, gondola, and brewery. It was perfect for our family and friendly for our pup. Thank you, we will be back.

The property was very spacious and right in the middle of everything we we're looking for in the Village. Some things about the condo were pretty dated and need some love but it was clean and did the job. The heater in the master is too loud to sleep with on, and the tv's we're hard to operate (one in master worked briefly then stopped). Check in with the garage / parking was a bit puzzling at first, but glad they had the wagons to haul our gear. Other than that no complaints. A pretty good value especially on weekdays.

Family and I stayed here for a few days. The condo was cozy and the location was great! The hosts were very responsive to questions too.
Would stay again

We stay in a lot of rentals in the Mammoth area, and this was one of the best. Cant possibly beat the location - walking distance to the village, the brewery, the gondola. Perfect. And the little details in this unit were excellent. Loved the drinking fountain!! Loved the wagons locked up next to the parking spot so we could get all of our gear in. There was even good coffee in the cupboard so we could have a cup before going to the store the first morning. Loved this place, and would definitely return.

Condo was very nice and within very close walking distance to the gondola. The spiral staircase would've been difficult without the elevator. We would stay here again.

Can’t beat the location, a two minute walk to the village gondola, restaurants, and shops! The two ski lockers were extremely convenient.
The unit was as-advertised, though the pictures don’t show how dated the interior really is… dingy carpet, worn furniture, and old/well worn kitchen stuff (pots, pans, and that sort of stuff.) We knew going in that the spiral staircase would be challenging, and it was indeed. As two able-bodied adults and teenagers, it wasn’t really an issue, but definitely would be for many others. It wouldn’t be practical to go outside, take the elevator down, and then come in on the other floor, but that would be necessary if someone couldn’t navigate a very steep tight spiral staircase. Also, the unit really is two proper/enclosed bedrooms, and an open loft. Again, this wasn’t a problem for us, but for someone seeking three proper bedrooms, this wouldn’t be the unit for you.
And finally, while not an issue with this particular unit, the Fireside complex is pretty gross… The hot tub was very murky, the interior staircases smelled absolutely awful, and the interior carpet was extremely old, dirty & worn. The walls between units are paper thin, so we could hear the people next-door as if they were sitting right in our living room. I don’t think we would stay in this complex again.

The location was amazing and the place itself was nice, but there were some issues with cleanliness. We found cookie pieces (not crumbs) and wrappers on the floor - maybe the cleaning service didn’t vacuum? There was also hair in the drains.
Able to overlook a lot of that because of the location and the amount of room we had - very spacious!

Would recommend to all.

A lovely comfortable stay right by the village gondola literally a 2 min walk which is a gamechanger when you have tired kids complaining about heavy snowboards!

An okay stay
The property needs a major update and deep cleaning. Carpeting in a place that allows dogs and wet skis and related snowy clothing?? Ick. We saw two other units being cleaned during our stay and they both had some kind of vinyl flooring. Definitely the way to go. The shower was a little moldy. The comforters were lumpy. The closet door on the main floor was off the track. The location is really great. And I really appreciated getting an extra parking spot in the garage for a third car. It was an okay stay. A lot of little things that weren’t ideal. We won’t stay there again. 🙁

Great location
My husband and I stayed along with our two young children, and dog. The location was perfect and easy walking distance to the village. The bedroom setup was perfect for the kids and ourselves, and the kitchen was very well stocked. The stairs are spiral staircases, which our kids and dog could easily navigate, but if traveling with very young children this could be tricky. The host was extremely quick to respond to any inquiries, and check in was quick and easy. Overall a great stay!

Cozy condo, amazing time!
We had an amazing time in this cozy condo that accommodated 8 of us and our two small dogs. The home has everything we needed, plus enough beds and bathrooms for us all to get ready and out the door to adventure on time. The location is just perfect and I couldn't be happier with how easy Tracy made the whole process. She was easy to get in touch with and very responsive. I'm looking forward to another stay in this cozy condo again soon!

Great location!
This condo was located in the best spot we've ever had in Mammoth. Its a quick walk to both the Village and Mammoth Brewing. The loft is huge and was perfect for my husband, me, and my daughter with plenty of room leftover. My parents stayed in the master bedroom downstairs and had the whole floor to themselves. The stairs take some getting used to, but you just have to be careful. Overall, loved this place and hope we can stay again.

Great Location, but you’ll time travel to 1982
First, the positives. Location, location, location. The Condo is in the Village and walkable to restaurants and a small grocery store, which is critical during Covid-19. Key code entry system is very convenient. Beds are comfortable, the Condo is relatively clean, and, all the basics work. Now, the negatives. This looks like a condo that I stayed in with my 1982 high school buddies, and I mean that literally. Built in 1969, I cannot see that much of anything has changed except the carpet a few years back and other than adding flat screen TVS. It’s incredibly dark inside, in need of updating and the lighting is dim. We had 4 days of perfect sunshine, and it never felt light and bright in there. In my opinion it does not look like the bright, fresh picture on VRBO so maybe those were taken with backlighting. Here is one big bummer that I feel needs to be advertised more openly. There is a spiral staircase connecting floors one and two, that is so steep you practically need to be a mountain goat to climb it. To us, it felt far too dangerous to be used by children, elderly or anyone who is not a certified rock climber. We had pre-approved our two dogs for the stay, and we wish the owners would have highlighted this issue. It was impossible for the dogs to transit between the first and second floors because of the staircase. To get them from one floor to the next, we had to go out the front door into the hallway, walk twenty yards to the elevator, go up or down, walk back down the hallway, punch in the key code, and let the dogs in. Not an ideal situation. Smaller comments are: the pantry was not as well-stocked as we thought it would be — if you plan on cooking we suggest you bring your own condiments and staples; and, the cleaning fee was far too high — given the size of the Condo (est. @1600 sf) and age of the decor and carpet. Overall, a positive stay but not quite what we expected or paid for.

Close and clean
The property is very clean. The beds were very comfortable. This is close to everything. The unit itself is pretty dated but the furnishings are great. Everything worked as expected and the owners were very easy to get a hold of and communicate with.

Great stay
The property was as advertised on the website. I would definitely recommend the place. Dan was extremely responsive on the property - we needed an extra parking spot and he accommodated, we sent extra baby food via mail and he helped us with the delivery. There were a few things - light bulb out or cart code was changed but little things that are usually due to previous person staying and not saying anything. I would recommend that families with younger kids make sure they are 100% okay with having a metal spiral staircase. It is in the photo's at the end but just be sure you feel comfortable and aren't anxious about it. I think these are standard for the ski condo style though. Overall I really appreciated the space and tracey/dan are wonderful hosts.

Great Location
Pros:
-Great location!!
-Very well-stocked kitchen, bathrooms, extra blankets etc.
-Easy check-in
-Quiet building
Cons:
-This is NOT a 3 full bathroom condo as listed. We were disappointed not to have 3 showers available. There is NO bath upstairs. It is a 2.5 bath condo. 2 full baths and 1 half bath (powder room).
- As mentioned in other posts, the narrow, shaky stairs should be remodeled.

Our Best Stay in Mammoth
Our family of 10 has been to Mammoth Mountain for vacation 4 times in the last 4 years. This property had the best parking (underground) location (in the Village), a nice view and easy access to the Village Gondola. Everything about the property was nicely maintained too. And the owners were easy to communicate with...even allowed us to change our vacation dates when we discovered a schedule change. Very nice experience. Thank you.

Location, Location and right at home
When looking to ski/board at Mammoth there just is no replacement for being right at the Village. We were able to easily walk to the gondola, shops and dinner each night. The cars stayed in the underground garage, which was awesome. Past that I have to say the place has a real home feel to it. You almost expect your uncle to come around the corner any minute asking if you need anything.

Perfect location
Other than the lack of firewood, it was great.

Great location and very clean condo. Within few steps from the Village!
This condo is very nice and comfortable. Sleeps all guests comfortably. The stairs between all levels is a bit small. Besides that, everything else is great. I highly recommend it.

Great location but needs TLC
Can’t beat the location. You are close to everything. It’s stcked with dishes, cooking spices, pots and pans. Also, provides shampoo/ conditioner and towels which is great. Home does need some revamping, carpet is musty and dirty. The place looks run down. My family had a good time but we all think the same thing, a facelift to the place would make it so much better. We had an incident where there was another family in the condo when we arrived but that was taken care of quickly. We had to wait until other family moved and placed was cleaned. We were offered $100 credit for next time.

Awesome place and great location!
We've been coming to Mammoth for the last 12 years and this condo at The Fireside met all of our needs. Plenty of room for everybody and so close to the gondola and the village!

Great Ski Location!
We brought our 93 year old Dad to Mammoth again this year and this condo was the perfect location! We walked to the Gondola in the Village and never had to get in the car to ski. Two entrances, one for the top floor and one for the bottom floor were essential which enables our Dad to avoid stairs. Living room was well equipped, I love that they even had candles for our dinner table. One recommendation is for more lighting in the kitchen and family rooms.

Can't Beat The Location!
We had a great stay in Mammoth to start the new year. The best part about this condo is the location: you cannot get a more convenient place to stay in the village! We had 8 people in our family plus our dog, so we needed more space than the hotel rooms at the Village Lodge provide. This was the perfect solution.
The condo is located next door to the bougie 80/50 condos and share the same parking garage. It was well equipped with everything needed for cooking and there were plenty of clean towels and linens. It's important to note that while the towels and linens themselves were mediocre quality at best, there was still a solid supply.
The most notable disappointment of this condo is that it's a TWO BEDROOM condo. You must read the fine print because it is tagged as a 3-bedroom erroneously. The "third" bedroom is the LOFT. We had two couples plus a few kids and a grandparent, so the sleeping situation was odd. The second couple was defaulted to the loft's queen bed and had to share the loft space with one of my kids. There is NO bathroom in the loft. The closest bathroom is on the main level adjacent to the kitchen. The other error in the listing is the bathroom count. There are actually TWO BATHROOMS plus an additional toilet room attached like a Jack & Jill on the downstairs bathroom. So the accurate description is a "Two Bedroom plus Loft with 2.5 Baths."
The stairs to move about the three floors of the condo are VERY awkward, but add some nice character and we weren't bothered by them. Our dog was terrified of the narrow spiral stairs, so we conned him into walking up the public stairwells between walks. We really appreciated having our dog with us for a fee because my teenager was injured and couldn't ski. It was nice to know that she had the dog to keep her company during the day.
The management company makes check in SO easy. We really appreciated being able to show up, park our car and easily access the condo without an additional stop in town. Thanks for a fantastic stay!
