About this apartment rental
A short 13-minute walk from beautiful downtown Burbank, the Urban Refuge is a well-equipped and spacious studio apartment with amenities to impress. Enjoy luxury bedding, spa sundries, 55" flat screen, full kitchen, and laundry. Experience five diamond standards with at home comfort, privacy and security. There's laundry in the unit! The apartment also has an iron and ironing board. An ALDI supermarket is at the other end of the street.

My sensibilities are for the traveler and the amenities included in your stay meet my high standards for quality hotel accommodations. In addition, the Urban Retreat offers the fastest and most reliable internet available in the city.
House Rules
I cater to the nonsmoker without pets. Smoking is not permitted inside the apartment nor on the property. Our other tenants dislike the aroma. We love small non-human friends, but unfortunately they are not allowed at the property. We observe quiet time from 10pm to 8am and kindly request that you do the same by turning down your music or television during these times. This is a 2nd-story apartment with stairs. Not suitable for persons who require an elevator.

This was my second time staying at Christopher and Gloria's property, and everything was great! I really like this location because it's centrally located for getting to different areas of L.A. Communication with the hosts was excellent, there were no surprises, and the bed is super comfy. Thank you!

The property was exactly as shown in pictures. It was great to have a bigger refrigerator to hold groceries. Very accessible to highways for work my work meetings.

a delight!
everything about this place was LOVELY! i would stay here again in a heartbeat. the owners were super easy to contact when i couldn’t figure out how to open the door, there was complimentary champagne waiting for us, silverware, linens, toiletries! and there was a great little packet that had information about the property and about the surrounding area with food and activities! the only tiny problem was that the checkout time on the information packet was wrong, so we were rushed out early by the housekeeper. but everything else was perfect!

Immaculate and cozy
My husband and I rented for 17 days in November. Christopher and Gloria were excellent hosts. The location in Magnolia Park neighborhood was perfect for us. Walked to my daughters house, restaurants and shops. The bed is amazingly comfortable. Kitchen is large and bathroom is nicely appointed. I will be returning. Thank you!

We love the cozy and homey feeling of this space. Amazingly comfortable bed, and delicious coffee provided with a French press! Also, a washer and dryer! The only drawback for me is the need for more ambient lighting in the room, and perhaps another nightstand.

Excellent Studio
The owners of this adorable studio have thought of everything. They are prompt, courteous, and so considerate! My husband used this space for 3 weeks as an office because our kids have been home from school for an ENTIRE YEAR now thanks to Covid, and getting work done at home has become darn near impossible. He found the space beautifully decorated, cozy, and inviting. He said if he were a young man living alone - which I'm sure he wishes he was at this point in the pandemic LOL - he'd live in this space in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!!

Exceeded my expectation
Gloria and Christopher were courteous and hospitable hosts. The property was clean, quiet and most importantly SAFE! It has all the amenities one would have at home. The location itself is excellent. Surrounded by great shopping and dining options. It is also a short drive away from Hollywood and Downtown LA. This is a great home away from home option.

Excellent Property & Owner
This property is very lovely! It had everything I needed for my stay with even a nice touch of complimentary stuff! The studio apartment was perfect! It’s very close to a grocery store and more! Everything was very clean and the owners was very nice! Especially when I had to receive a mail, they delivered it to my door! I would definitely recommend this place!

This was such a nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable and close to all the lovely things Burbank has to offer. Everything was flawless and do follow the restaurant suggestions as they are spot on. I look forward to staying here again!

Beyond our expectations
Very beautiful place to stay in. This apartment was a short distance from universal studios, hollywood, many beaches, and much more. The place was clean, cute, modern, and affordable. Management was sweet as can be, they even left us a couple gifts along with a couple suggestions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurants. We visit LA often and will absolutely be staying here again and again. Wonderful stay, absolutely no complaints.

A Great Stay
We stayed in apt D for 2 nights. The apartment was super clean and very comfortable. The addition of hotel like touches such as soaps, lotions and shampoo were great. The a/c worked really well and the bed was very comfortable. Overall the neighborhood was very quiet and there was plenty of parking on the street. We would definitely stay here again.

Definite Do-Over!
If you are looking for a cozy place to stay and are on a budget, it doesn't get much better than this! This is the second time I have stayed here, and will do so again. Parking is not a problem, the location is very convenient, and the neighborhood is very quiet.

Urban Retreat Experience
Our recent stay at Chris's "Urban Retreat" was a very pleasant experience. The unit was exactly as it was presented on the website with some additional welcoming touches as well! The location was very convenient for us as our daughter lives a short 1.5 miles away. It is definitely an extremely clean, comfortable and cozy home away from home. We will certainly keep it in mind for future stays.

Modern and eye for details
This studio is highly upgraded and from the little touches and details you know you’re dealing with a host who cares: ear plugs, careful instructions, a soft playing radio when you arrive...exceptionally clean throughout. Newer appliances in the kitchen (we did not use). We used this for our visit to Universal Studios. Couldn’t be more satisfied.

Great Stay
Loved the Urban Refuge! It was the perfect location for my daughter and I during her Spring Break to visit with family and friends as I used to live in the area. It was super clean, modern, quiet and had all the comforts of home. By far one of the best VRBO properties I have stayed at over the years. Apartment looks just like the pictures provided. Gloria was prompt and responsive with her communication. Stayed in Apt D ,on 2nd floor, has keyless entry and very good lighting outside the apartment which was a plus since we arrived late at night. We were also pleasantly surprised upon our arrival in the apartment with the little gifts and extras provided. Street parking was easy. Conveniently located near freeways to navigate LA sites. Thanks for a great week vacation and would definitely stay again if in the area.
