This house was perfect for my family! We spent lots of time relaxing on the back porch and in the grilling area. The location so close to the boat ramp is perfect. David was very helpful and responsive. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I spent 18 happy days in this clean, spacious, attractively decorated, and well supplied home. The beds are exceedingly comfortable. The master bathroom has a large walk-in shower. Our son came to visit for a week (working remotely a few days) and had his own side of the house, with its two bedrooms and bathroom. When you enter the house, the view through the living area onto the golf course is beautiful. We drank our morning coffee in the back screen porch while watching the birds and looking down on the tranquil greens. It was delightful to step out the back porch to go for 7:30am and late afternoon walks on the paths of the golf course. The owner was very helpful, and communication was prompt. We really appreciated that! As for future improvements: the front outside stairs and two broken front bedroom windows could use some attention. There are two bikes, but we could not lower the woman’s bike seat or adjust its gears enough to be useable. However, the kayaks are in fine condition, and we took them for two pleasant excursions on the bay. Other highlights were catching the ferry (a short walk just around the corner) for shelling at Cayo Costa, eating a superb luncheon at the Tarpon Inn, marveling at the fascinating history of the Calusa Heritage Trail, and of course occasional play at the Alden Pines Golf Course (which is quirky but still enjoyable). My husband and I were glad to leave the storms of New England to experience the charms of Pine Island. We had a great time at this rental and think it is an excellent value.

Nice place. We have been renting different places on pine island for 10 years now. I think this was the nicest. Parked my boat in the driveway, boat ramp was only 200yds away. I would do it again.

The floor plan of the main floor was great for a family. The large screen room with dining table was very nice. The grill area underneath the main floor was a good entertainment area. There were beach things, kyacks, and bikes available for use. Clean, plenty of towels, nice cooking utensils. Overall a great stay. I would highly recommend.

David was Waiting for us at his home to show us around. His attention to detail was much appreciated. The kitchen was fully supplied with everything one could ask for. The spacious living room was extremely comfortable and the master suite with it’s walk in shower was perfect. This beautiful home is privately located on the golf course with wonderful views of wading birds and osprey.

We had such a great stay! This house was perfect for us! David was easy to get a hold of and communicated just enough to make sure we felt welcomed and had what we needed. It was delightful to walk in the front door to a comfortable living room which opened right out to a large screened in porch which overlooked the golf course, but also felt private. We spent a lot of time out there! The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the location right on the golf course with a beautiful view as well as walking distance to the water with beautiful sunsets, access to boats and fine dining! This was a great experience and we look forward to next time!!!

Pine Island at it's best. House is located in a nice quiet area, yet just a short drive from everything on the island. Golf fans, bring your clubs or don't, there's a bunch in the garage, your backyard is 18th hole tip off. Enjoy the golf course view from the second floor screened porch, or enjoy a few rounds yourself. Got a boat? Boat launch is just 100 yards away at a 5 star rated marina, also a great place to just hang out and watch the sunset with the neighbors. Ferry is also right down the block, they take you out to the Caya Costa state park, that's on a separate island, accessible by boat only, day trips and extended camping available. Matlacha village is right off the island with many colorful shops and bars. It's a couple miles stretch of islands filled with small shops, restaurants, bait & tackles stores and boat rental places all can be found there. Ride bikes around the island, 4 available at the house, or drop a kayak on the water and explore the many mangrove islands in the area. Saw tons of different fish, with massive snook that made my heart skip a beat. Definitely bring a rod if going boating/kayaking. Back to the house. It's fully equipped and well stocked. Nice size, comfortable beds, and master bedroom fitted for a king. Screened porch on the second floor provides excellent escape from the insects and great place to enjoy a meal. The downstairs hang out area is a dream come true. Grill and Bar with custom made counters and shelves, mini fridge, flat screen TV on the wall, lights with fans, and plenty of seating area for everybody to be comfy. Football season got to be fun at this place. There's also a fire pit in the backyard and some tiki torches in the garage to set the mood for the evening. Did I mention, there's one more bedroom downstairs for those "independent" teenagers who wants their privacy. It can only be accessed from downstairs lounge area and has it's own restroom with a shower. Some might find it a downside, that there's no public beaches on the Pine Island. I know it seems odd, an island with no beaches. I thought its kind of great because it keeps a lot of the tourist traffic off the island, and some of the best beaches in Florida are just about an hour drive away which seems even shorter because half the ride you're just getting off the Pine Island and going through Matlacha. From there, there's ton of beach options. David is also a nice person to work with and will help you with any questions or issues.

Our family can't stop talking about our experience at Dave's on Pine Island. This is a place far enough away from real life to be a vacation, but so accessible to boating, beaches, history and conveniences. We stayed here for a week with only what we could carry on the airplane. It was just as comfortable as our own home. You like your soft pillows and towels? Comfortable mattresses? Dave has them. His kitchen is equipped with everything we needed to create gourmet meals with the fish we caught. This is by far the best equipped VRBO we have experienced. If this is your first time coming to Pine Island, read the book "Pine Island, a Forgotten Island" before you come! or he has it on his coffee table. The book connected me to the unique history of the island and the Calusa Indian sites right outside his door. Highly recommend this stay. Thank you!
