About this cabin rental

It's all in the details...Nostalgic beach decor throughout this 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin on the beach fully furnished for your next getaway! Yes it really is just outside your window! King size plush pillow top bed in one room over looking the beach and 2 single beds in the other. Living room windows (and bedroom window) overlook the lake with clean beach about 2 feet beyond the window. Brand new windows throughout entire cabin. Lake breezes fill the cabin when you open up the windows. Central air and gas furnace, bathroom includes toilet/sink/shower and contains all towels. Full kitchen with blender, electric skillet, toaster, microwave, coffee pot, refrigerator, oven/stove, pots/pans and dishes. Iron and ironing board provided. Seating for 4 in kitchen, as well as additional dining room table with 4 chairs. Home away from home. Twelve foot gazebo has electricity so you can stay up in the evening enjoying the breeze and playing games without the bugs. (Table and 8 chairs in gazebo). Fire pit also on property with plenty of fire wood. Over 200 feet of dock for your enjoyment all summer long! WIFI available if you choose, or else unplug and get away!

Nice little place, like a tiny house, it was clean. Clean sandy beach with a long dock and clear water. Property owners were helpful. Lots of fire wood. It is in a fairly crowded little neighborhood, but peaceful.

I had a good time enjoying the sandy beach and the gazebo. Cabin was kind of musty smelling. Would suggest to owners to invest in better linens/towels for cabin. Shower was very slow to drain. Also I did not appreciate that someone was monitoring my stay and then reporting back to owner who was not on site at the time. I am a single female and it felt alittle creepy.

This place was perfect for our family. Nice shallow beach for the kids. Close to downtown for restaurants and shopping. There are other houses nearby, so if you are looking for seclusion, there may be better options, but being part of a former resort and close to town this was as expected. Host was extremely responsive and accommodating. We will be back next year.

Perfect little cabin on the lake for our stay the last 2 weeks of June, 2022!

This was an excellent place to stay for 2 weeks away. The owners are very personable and friendly. The cabin was clean, cozy, and close to the lake with it's sandy beach. This was perfect for swimming and for our grandkids to play in the shallow water next to the sandy beach. The gazebo was really the "icing on the cake", we spent more waking hours in the gazebo than in the cabin. The boat landing on Shell Lake is the best we have experienced. The cabin is a short walk to town where we enjoyed a Friday evening concert, dinner at the Lake View Bar & Restaurant, ice cream at the Scoop "N" Brew, and a nice walk on blacktop path every morning. We look forward to coming back next June! We loved our stay! Until then we hope to come back this winter and take advantage of the snowmobile trail that is right next to the same blacktop path. A big thank you to Mindy and her family!

Great week at this property! It is just as described, with the exception of some grass growth decreasing beach size. Having your own beach is amazing! Our week was quite windy. We enjoyed the businesses and activities in both Shell Lake and Spooner. We will definitely return to this peaceful retreat!! Thank you Mindy

Cabin worked great for our family! We were up in area for Kortelopet and Birkebiner. Cabin is cozy but tiny. Wouldn’t be easy for larger individuals or those with serious disabilities (ie walker). Everything was clean and very usable. Nice and warm in winter. Kids enjoyed playing in snow and on lake.

Owner quickly responded to messages and the place is clean, even clean enough to walk around in stocking feet. Knowing where to park in the winter was an issue. We also recommend bringing snowshoes to wear on the walk from your car to the house. Without them, we sank to our knees crossing the snowdrift. There was another snowdrift in the driveway large enough a small car could not maneuver. The owner was contacted twice and both times assured us she had someone coming to plow. That individual arrived the morning we left. The shower is tiny but the water pressure works and the water is hot. The living room and one bedroom provide a lovely view of the lake. Getting into beds requires crawling up over the end and crawling to the top of the bed. Once you succeed you are laying next to the window and enjoying a great view of the lake. We enjoyed the high table in the living room for playing cards while taking in the lake view. We recommend a stop at Ally Coffee and dinner at Round Man Brewery.

My husband and I rented the cottage to ice fish on Shell Lake for a few days. It was the perfect size for just the two of us and had everything we needed. A plus was two comfortable chairs and a comfortable bed to sleep in after a tiring day out fishing! Watching the sunrise from the picture window was really nice too.

The property was perfect. We loved how cold here was how clean it was. The best part was doing the fires right outside the cabin by the lake with the lights on in the gazebo. Thank you again we had a wonderful weekend.

I had a great time. I was a little worried based on the weather - 5 below one morning - that the place wouldn't stay warm but I was wrong. The place was toasty the whole time. It was great to be able to look out over the frozen lake.

We thoroughly enjoyed this cute quaint little cabin on the lake. It was just perfect! It was very clean, comfortable and peaceful. Has everything we needed for our weekend getaway. We enjoyed a fire lakeside, the kids played in the sand and we had lunch in the gazebo. Right near town with good restaurants. Can’t wait to come back again!

Small cabin with 2 bedrooms, nice size for a couples get-away or with a small family. The weather wasn't nice enough to enjoy the beach, but it is just a stones throw from the cabin. Has a nicely appointed kitchen, and a gazebo provides an area to eat outside. The place was exceptionally clean. I gave the location 4 stars only because it is in close proximity to other homes so I expect privacy is limited in the busy season.
