About this house rental
This older style cottage with 2 bedrooms and sleeps 4 with direct access to the water. There is a bike track that runs along the river front of the property. The river meets the sea directly out front and easy access for kayaks. The cottage has every thing one would need for a little get away by the sea, with amazing views of Maria Island from the deck. You can just sit and relax while enjoying the views.
The house has one queen and one double bedrooms. There is a sunroom which gets lovely warm afternoon sun where one can sit and read books from the collection at the house.

This is the second time we've stayed here. The house is older, but comfortable. It's a great place to stay with children, there is direct access to the river and a small beach. Magnificent view from the main bedroom and balcony. The main beach is only a short walk or ride. Having access to the canoes and a safe area to use them is a bonus for the children.

The house is homely and spacious. Great deck with super view across river mouth to Maria Island. We enjoyed walked daily on the beaches and walking tracks here and nearby. Plus a visit to Maria Is. All very relaxing.

This place is ideally located right on the river inlet, with a cafe next door and across the road. The local Blue Waters Hotel is a two minute walk away and does great meals, nice family atmosphere. The accomodation is large plenty of room for a family, fully equipped or over equipped, but I can’t make my mind up whether it’s old and rustic or old, tired and cluttered.

Could not ask for anything better. Million dollar view. Very cosy the heater was put on for us a big thank you for that. Water pressure great excellent shower. Only need to take your clothes and a toothbrush and food. We will be back

Absolutely great house, view of the sea from the back veranda, everything you would ever need is supplied, very handy to town shops, let the fur baby run free on the beach, a short stroll from the back garden,, watch the Rabbits play in the early morn or evening, thank you Julie for the Wine and Biscuits, lovely thought

Charming older cottage. The biggest issue was the narrow bath with shower , my husband is in his 70 and found it difficult.

Great location with everything you need close by. Spacious property, lovely spacious deck with great views, comfortable beds and plenty of all that you need including local rabbits and echidna! Communication with owner really good and we would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at Julie’s house. We enjoyed the track along the river to go into Orford. Also, a good location to quickly get to the Maria Island ferry for a day trip. Lots of great spaces in the house for relaxing.

Lovely beach cottage with everything we needed for a two day stay. Enjoyed mornings and evenings on the deck overlooking the river, beach and Maria Island. Close to Orford and Triabunna for restaurants and access to Maria Island.

Check in procedure and communication with Julie was excellent and the water views are delightful. However, the unkempt grounds, drab interior and worn-out furniture and fittings seemed well below the standard expected at those rates. We won't be back.

We loved our stay and really enjoyed the quirkiness of this property. It would have been helpful to have been given some information on the air conditioner/heater which came on of its own accord during our first evening. We tried to figure out a way to turn it off as we were out for the whole of the next day, and couldn't find any information anywhere regarding this.

The house was cosy and comfortable and the position was absolutely wonderful with the magnificent view straight to Maria Island. We enjoyed walking along the river path right outside both to the bird sanctuary one way and to the lovely little town the other way. The Wattlebanks Providore in Orford provided great coffee and food as well as delicious take home meals. Also directly opposite the house on the Tasman Highway is Elly's East Coast Kitchen with excellent coffee and food.

Warm, dry, comfy and clean with nice linen. A nice close beach with sheltered inlet.
Fresh coffee right at the end of the driveway, and the local IGA is open very convenient hours.
Owner was very patient and helpful to dopey tenants, would definitely stay again.

million dollar view
Comfortable with everything a family might need for their holiday. Superb views of the water from the lounge room and master bedroom. Two other areas that were sun catchers for us to relax in during our winter visit. The single bedroom was perfect for our teenager to have her own space. The three year old even had her own little chair. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Lovely waterfront Tassie holiday
Eclectic property with wonderful waterfront position. Two main bedrooms are lovely (the third is really just functional). Couldn't ask for a nicer location - wonderful walks and birdlike. Reminiscent of childhood holidays at the beach. Would happily return.

Great family holiday
This was a great spot to spend a few days. The kids loved being so close to the beach and having kayaks available and a safe area in the river to learn to use them was an added bonus. The house is an older style shack but clean and tidy with plenty of room and everything you need. Very good value for a family - there aren't many places available with beach frontage and view at this price.

Julie is very easy to deal with, helpful and friendly. House is as advertised and is very conveniently located, especially if you want to catch a fish with the river right at the front door. This was our second stay and definitely not our last.👍
